Hello house, I just got this message from the embassy. Pls can someone proffer a solution.

in the above mentioned visa application, you are kindly asked to submit the following documents:

- proof of a funded blocked account with a monthly disposability of 853 € OR official German declaration of sponsorhip (“Verpflichtungserklärung”) with the remark “NACHGEWIESEN”

(The declaration handed in contains only “glaubhaft gemacht”, this is not sufficient for the purpose of studies!)
Most people still don’t know how this letter works. Apart from the embassy and your intended alien office doing their verification, you must also make sure the important details on your SL are okay. If you are here and you are using SL. Before you have your original SL sent to you, make sure you request for a scanned copy and cross check your details that it is correct, check that the purpose of stay is fur studium.

Nachgewiesen must be ticked. Nachgewiesen means the sponsor has successfully demonstrated and that he/she has met all requirements to stand as your sponsor.

In some cities like Stuttgart, Rastatt, they tick both nachgewiesen and glaubhaft gemacht while in some cities like München, they only tick nachgewiesen. Nachgewiesen is very important.

I once saw SL where nicht nachgewiesen was ticked. It was straight rejection.
So contact your sponsor and let the office the letter came out from make the correction.

Hello boss, please can you help state some of the reasons Visa applications are denied.

*****the way people just dey mention am recently dey make my heart pound anyhow sad ****
1. There are doubts concerning your study intentions (SL & BA)
2. Your secured subsistence cost is not ensured in Germany (SL)
3. There are doubts regarding your secured subsistence cost in Germany (SL)

Also, it doesnt mean when you dont get your docs back in 2 weeks that somebody cant still be rejected, there are some cases of 2-3 months wait. Its all God's grace. if you receive your docs back 7-10 days after interview, that means embassy didnt even send your docs to the auslanderberhorde of your intented city.

REJECTION WONT BE OUR CASE IJN!!

Good morning Sir/Ma, i will be going to Hannover this winter by God grace. I have registered with their Studentenwerk Hannover since June but i don't know what to do next. Is it advisable to get to Germany before getting this accommodation sorted? N.B I have not been interviewed yet for visa thou I'll be going for that this mid August also my program start October 1st with enrollment deadline of September 30th. Please I need enlightenment on this accommodation stuff as I read here that someone must not sign any housing or accommodation contract while still in Nigeria. Please help a brother out of this accommodation stuff. Thanks.

CC: @sassy92
CC: Other able honourable members of this group.
Accommodation can be very scare and slightly expensive in Hannover especially this winter semester where lots of students are coming in. A friend of mine is currently paying 450 euros monthly. The Hannover studentenwerk accommodation is not also guaranteed, i remember the time i applied then, accommodation was only available a year later. However, the studentenwerk can decide to give you a landlord's contact details so you can talk to... which was what they did for me because they couldnt get a space for me not until after a year (which i later declined)

Concerning signing of contract, it is best to sign accommodation contract while in Germany. However, signing a contract require you to drop your IBAN (international bank acct number). So if you agree to take up the accommdation provided for you while in Nigeria, just know that your bill has started counting starting from the agreed date. During mine, i told the studentenwerk (not hannover) to keep the room for me that i will arrive mid month, when i arrived mid-month, i signed the contract and all but they still debited me for the whole month.

Hello guys.. NEWBIE ALERT!!!! i just started my research and somehow i landed on this trend... Thank God!.. there is soomuch here and i am scared my head might burst. OK, i have a BSc. in Biological sciences with a first class degree (4.65/5.00). i will be done with NYSC in 3 months and the only documents i have in hand; transcript and intl passport lipsrsealed .. i need help guys! like where should i start! my field of interest for MSc is biotechnology.someone should help please! like how can i leave Nigeria next year to fulfill my dreams?! i will need a scholarship, HOW? Admission, HOW? VISA, HOW?!!!! cry cry cry HOW DO YOU GUYS DO THIS THINGS EHHHNhuh!
Please go and apply for ERASMUS Mundus scholarship while you keep applying for self funded studies in Germany. Don’t let your grades waste, let these people pay you for graduating with 4.65.

Visit my profile and check my post (first page) to have yourself informed. There is a link to Erasmus scholarship there. If you read and surf carefully, There won’t be any need to ask further questions.

Also google DAAD catalogue to see scholarship offers. It is a pdf containing all the universities in Germany offering DAAD scholarship. In the pdf. You will see how to apply and everything. Including a link that will take you to the school/scholarship website. If you use a laptop. It’s more preferable. All the best!!
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Immafrank:
If you are coming to Berlin this winter. Please budget nothing less than 350-500 euros for accommodation, you won’t see it lesser than that plus the caution fee you are to pay. Cheap Accommodation can be scarce in Berlin due to many students coming in the winter. Beware of scammers. There are lots of accommodation scammers.

If you will be schooling in Berlin, it will be worth it.
*Free Transportation including train and buses for students in the whole of Berlin and state of Brandenburg. (Berlin-Brandenburg) as long as you are with your school card.

*Enormous Job opportunities.

*2-3 years residence permit at first application. You don’t need to book appointment with the aulander for your RP. As long as you are done with your city registration in which accommodation contract is a prerequisite to register with the city. You can apply for it ASAP. In some cities, people wait 2-3 months before they are scheduled for appointment for RP plus 4 weeks for the card. Berlin don’t use card. They put the permit on your passport just like the visa.

*Plenty clubs if you are the party type. African Kitchens Dey too

If you will be schooling is Potsdam, you can also apply for your residence permit in Berlin. Meaning you need to have accommodation in Berlin and do the city registration. Potsdam gives 1 year RP so some students rather stay in Berlin and just go to Potsdam for lecturers since transportation is free. Potsdam is juss about 35 minutes to Berlin depending on where you stay in Berlin though.

If you are heading to Munich, bring money Oo.
Accommodation can be slightly expensive in Hannover too. Don’t sign any accommodation contract until you get your visa.

Wishing everybody success!!
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Immafrank:
Greeting y'all,

I have said this before but will say it again, Applicants with good grades at least 3.5/5.0 should endeavour to apply to the ERASMUS MUNDUS schorlarship programmes (application starts around Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec and deadline is Oct Nov Dec Jan Feb of the following year depending on the course), ERASMUS MUNDUS gives you 1k euros monthly allowance, they pay health insurance, they give you travel allowance of about 3.5k euros, some of the schools link you with better companies for internship, they pay your tuition fees because sometimes, it is always a joint program whereby you might do 2 semesters in 2 different european countries and your last semester in Germany depending on the course. please dont let your grades and skills be wasting, most of these scholarships dont even have suitable applicants for the courses, you have upper hand if your Bsc is related to the ERASMUS Mundus course you will be applying to because you get a grade of 1 for that criteria. Your technical competences and your multicultural competencies also count. For me, i feel ERASMUS MUNDUS is more easier to get than DAAD scholarship.

I could remember applying jokingly to an ERASMUS Mundus master course online then which is to be done in 3 countries (Austria, France, Spain). My CGPA is 3.22/5.0 by the way... I submitted all my docs online, because it didnt cost me anything to do that. They later mailed me after the deadline that my application passed the 2 stages and they scheduled me for a skype interview(video). The professor i was skyping with was part of the admission committee, after all the whole interview, she said i was even lucky to have reached this stage that they had eliminated many students and that with all my documents she was seeing, i am competent for get the scholarship. "in my mind, i was like what did i submit?, 3.22 CGPA, 5 month SIWES, 1 year NYSC and 6 months internship at a same company, No programming skills which is needed for the course, No publications, few recommendation letters. No GRE/GMAT, No IELTS or TOEFL". But unfortunately, some days later, i was put on the waiting list that if anybody should drop out of the scholarship, they will give me but who rejects a scholarship? So if my average grade and skills could put me on the waiting list. You could get it!!!

Also, most of the ERASMUS applications are online whereby you only upload all neccessary documents on the portal meaning you dont need to send your docs to the school, some do interviews while some dont. And some of these ERASMUS courses are only starting for the first time with a span of 4-5 years.

Here is the link for ERASMUS MUNDUS course catalogue

https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus/library/scholarships-catalogue_en

There was a girl on part 4 of this thread, she applied to a private university in Germany with no hope of funding, she posted all her documents to the school. She got the admission but the tuition fee was crazy, so she forgot about it, few weeks later, she got an email from the private university that she has been awarded a Kofi Anan Scholarship (fully funded). Scholarship she didnt apply for but she said she submitted her GRE result. Everything is God's grace, so its not juss about the grades sometimes. So always send all your academic docs when applying to courses whether self funded or not even if the school didnt ask. There is no crime in sending docs not required by the schools- I'm talking about admission in general now not about scholarship. This girl's university was private and the course had a scholarship, hence the story.

Futhermore, I see some people confused about Health Insurance... You dont need health insurance for your interview, you only need a travel health insurance when you get approval mail from the embassy and AXA Mansard is acceptable which is about 23k or so, there are other ones too. But When you get to Germany, you will need another Health insurance which is a prerequisite for your enrolment and residence permit.

Also, prepaid courier envelope is important, without it, you will be bounced from the gate. It is the courier envelope they will use to post your docs back whether acceptance or rejection even if you decided to pick your visa up yourself due to delay, only use DHL, UPS, FEDEX for your prepaid envelope.

I wish everybody approval both for visa and admission.

Tchuss.

Greeting y'all,

If you graduated from Houdegbe North American University Benin Republic. or you know somebody that graduated from there and wants to apply to Germany for study. It is a NO NO!! My friend was rejected yesterday on the basis that Houdegbe North American University is not recognized in Germany and any degree from that school is not recognized in Germany too. So if you graduated from there, don't bother wasting money for uni assist or sending of documents.

Also, for newbies coming over, when you get to DE and you have an address, you can open N26 bank online immediately, you only need your passport, its an online bank and you can use the card to buy stuffs online too, you will get the card within 8 days. All those Sparkasse bank and Deutsche Bank ATM card no get CCV but i'd advise you open one of them too. Your blocked acct monthly dispensation too can be sent to N26 bank.

Also, if you coming, bring some little things like nail-cutter, 2-mouth extension, flipflops and slide, flash-drive or external hard-disk, Curtain, Bedspread, Drugs (you dont wanna be booking appointment with doctors for headache esp), buy Jeans trouser plenty oo, you will get good ones for 5k in 9ja, bad quality jeans is 19.99 EUR upwards here, if you are used to a body cream and you care about your skin and you cream very well then buy plenty come with glycerin for cold and always check the expiry date that it will expire at least 2 years later. You can get some of the creams on Amazon but it might be expensive and you gotta pay for shipping fees. My guy bought cream of 39.99 EUR online (3k original cream for 9ja) because he had already started turning to baba suwe after he bought one cream in a store here like that. Also, if you are a guy, you better buy clipper and sharpen it with your barber and learn at least shaving esp if you are like me that shaves every 3 days. You dont need toothpastes, spaghetti, rice, salt, sugar, tomato paste, body sprays, roll on... They all freaking cheap.

And like i said in some of my post back, if you coming here with SL, bring euros come o at least 1500 to 2k for your rent, caution fees for rent, residence permit fees (if the city issues card only), enrolment fees, health insurance fee before you get job. What i know is you can't die of hunger smiley
If you come here and you not that buoyant enough, you can get a credit card (at least 800 EUR limit at first and will increase later if you behave well in payments) for your little bills. its like a borrowed money, so if you dont have the mind to pay back, dont do it, the bank will report you to the auslander if you dont finally pay thier money back maybe after 4 months and thats problem for you.

If you be guy and you sabi cook, you go date oyinbo smiley at least but be ready to take some shii you cant take from your ex back home. "you fit hear something like- you crazy, why would you do this?" if you meet good christian girls which are scarce, you get luck and of course, you gotta dress well, no be say you go dey dress like homeless people, put on some nice sneaks, some nice shirts, and nice perfume or spray, no be say you go dey smell like Express fish, and stay fit. Download Meetup app on playstore or apple store, on this app, you can see events and get-together happening in your area, you just go there and have fun and link up, they are mostly attended by working class, some of them travel around the world for no reason, Dont tryna fvck every girl/lady you meet, you can just be friends and she could be of help later and always tryna add value to people, its not everytime take take take because thats what some of them know us for. Also, download Evenbrite app too, remember CONNECT is the key to various opportunities, on the eventbrite app too, you can see various programs and events happening all over DE and in your area esp when you in big cities, some are free while some are not free. Relate with oyinbos wella and your fellow Nigerian students, Dont reveal too much about you, Dont talk too much but be lively, Be Honest!!

I WISH YOU THE BEST OF GOD GUYS!!

Oga boss, how is Potsdam in terms of jobs and other essential benefits as it pertains to us Nigerians.

Please your info will be highly appreciated.
I don’t really know much about Potsdam and how quick you can get a job there. Potsdam is just 35 minutes with the train from Berlin. Incase you don’t find a job in Potsdam, you can always work in Berlin.

But I know about Freiberg concerning scarcity of jobs if you don’t speak the language. I know of 2 guys that had to leave the city during breaks to go work in another city. The language is important in smaller cities even if its B1. You can always look for jobs in different cities through jobruf.de. The minimum wage in Germany is 9.25 per hour but you can earn more in bigger cities. Also the working hours depends on your employer. Normally the auslanderberhorde gives you a work permit and it is stated on the work permit that you can work for 20 hours a week and 40 hours during holidays. But the employer can decide to increase your working hours which means you earn more than the normal 450-500 without getting taxed (like I said it depends on the employer). But this also varies from city to city and the kind of jobs you working.

The language is also important if you are going to eastern Germany, I’m not saying it’s not important in other parts of Germany too. My guy is Dresden (east Germany) said they don’t like black people and it’s hard to get a job if you don’t speak German. Though I already know of eastern Germany concerning their dislike for foreigners especially people with black skin.

That one no mean say make you Dey discouraged cuz the school wey you Dey apply to Dey eastern Germany. I mean even in Nigeria, we hate ourselves.

Lastly, always use google chrome if you wanna enter a German website, there is option for English translation, for example, a university website might have the important information only in German, some of them don’t have the important information in English and some sites here are always in German but with Google chrome, it will help you translate the page.

Bless up!!
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Immafrank:
Greetings Y'all,

If you are using uni assist for your applications, i will advise you to also apply to Technishe Universitat Berlin (TU Berlin) and Universitat Potsdam, both schools are under uni assist but the school has covered the cost for uni assist application fees for masters students meaning any masters course you apply for in both schools, you dont have to pay a dime except for Linguistics i think. So when sending your docs to uni assist, also apply for a course in both schools and send the application forms along with your certified docs. And of course a course that fits you, you can never tell

Furthermore, Berlin is one of the easiest city to get longer RP and to renew your RP, even with your first entry, you get 2 to 3 years straight up, They just stamp your passport (the validity of your passport has got to exceed 2 years), no need to wait for the Aufenthaltserlaubnis card which takes about 4 weeks or more. And of course there are jobs, but rent can be kind of high but its worth it. If you are coming with SL, bring money at least 1500 to 2k euros, you can survive with that till you get a job depending on how you spend, also, when signing your rent contract, you will pay a caution fee which means if you damage anything in the room, at the end of your contract, they deduct the loss from your caution fee, if everything is intact, you get the money back. The caution fee can range btw 300-450 euros.

Lastly, immediately you get an admission, make sure to register with the studierendewerk of your university or city to book for accommodation, NO ACCOMMODATION, NO RESIDENCE PERMIT. NO RESIDENCE PERMIT, NO JOB. Accommodation can be very scarce in places like Bremen and Hannover during this winter due to lot of students coming all over the world. You can also download the Gesucht app on playstore to look for private housing in different cities. But the studierenderwerk housing is cheap compared to Gesucht.

Wishing everybody success in their endeavors.
Bless Up!!

LET ME REFLECT ON MY SUGGESTIONS IN MY LAST POST AGAIN

@chriswazo, i agree with you that booking appointment ahead when you dont have admission letter can be risky and the 2 to 3 months time interval is just an estimated time. BUT in my post, i also said IF you are very very sure you will an early decision prior to talking to your course coordinator. I am only saying this because of the universities that releases admission letter late, a friend of mine last winter got her admission letter late august and they told her to resume september 30th last year (just a month), she asked for an extension and they said they dont give extension. she couldnt get an appointment at the embassy also.

IF you think you will be getting an appointment one month to your school resumption, i can tell you that it will be hard and it will take the grace of God because even if you get it, I mean you will still need about 4 weeks for visa processing, you cant book an appointment today and embassy will send your appointment printout same day asking you to come tomorrow.

AND do i need to say that we have hundreds of Nigerian applying to study in Germany if not thousands sef, everybody cannot get an appointment.

I only said what i said in my last post because it was what i did then (though i booked online) and what i will tell my friends to do now, and what i would have done if the system was like this then (and also contacting my course coordinator to know when i will get a decision, i have always been lucky with course coordinators). PLEASE YOU DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW MY SUGGESTIONS CONCERNING BOOKING APPOINTMENT AHEAD, YOU ARE LIABLE FOR YOUR OWN INCONVENIENCE AND PROBLEMS IF YOU BOOK AHEAD AND YOU GET APPOINTMENT BEFORE YOUR ADMISSION LETTER COMES OUT.

But let me tell you that everybody is trying to survive in Nigeria and in other places around the world too, everybody is trying to leave Nigeria, not all student visa applicants are on nairaland not even half of them, many people wont wait to get admission letter before they book, i am sure some Nigerians sef would have book now even before applying grin grin (well booking before even applying to schools is damn 100% risky) and from what the embassy just did concerning the new appointment system, they are trying to limit the numbers of students, i mean everybody is applying to Germany now as a student even married daddies (my thought).

@Bleuocean, you said embassy posted on their website that "In order to avoid any malpractice only one appointment can be booked per person. A new booking can only be allocated after a period of one month. In case you do not show up on the day of your interview the Consulate General has the right to bar further bookings for a period of up to 6 months."... This means that you can only book one appointment for yourself and that you cannot book 2 appointments for yourself... booking ahead is not malpractice so far as i know. And i'm sure even if they send you an appointment print out months later as they said, there should be a link to still cancel it but it might be hard to get another appointment as they have to put you at the end of the reserve list again (my thought also, am not sure if there will be a link to cancel after getting your appointment date but professionally, there should be)

And lastly,

PLEASE DON'T BOOK AHEAD IF YOU CAN BEAR THE RISK.

BLESS UP.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Immafrank:
Greeting Everyone,

So i noticed that they changed the appointment booking process yesterday.
I believe most of the students here belong to Category B.

If you know you dont have a scholarship, a German language proficiency certificate whether B2, B1 from Goethe, a TestAS, A masters degree admission also DSH course-related admission to the Masters program (this means writing a DSH exam before you can enrol for the masters program and you must have had an existing Knowledge of German Language because DSH or "Deutsche Sprachprufung fur den Hochschulzugang auslandischer Studienbewerber” is a language examination, which tests the German language proficiency of students who wish to apply at higher education institutions in Germany. The DSH examination is only administered at German Universities so the embassy needs proof that you will write a DSH in other for you to enrol or start the Masters program you got admitted to). IF you dont have all these credentials, you are for Category B.

If you also have a masters degree admission which is in English and it doesnt require a proof of German language for you to enrol or study it BUT you have a good B1 and B2 certificate from Goethe, you can also book for Category A. I believe category A will be treated with high priority because it also involves scholarship candidates. This is my interpretation of the whole new booking appointment stuff because it is straight forward for me.

Furthermore, if you are so sure you will be getting an admission in 2 months or less after a week or two weeks you applied, or have deferred your summer semester admission to winter 2019 and you are expecting your new admission letter, it will be advisable to book appointment ahead. You have to strategize everything because they are making appointment booking more difficult due to the high numbers of Student visa applicants in Nigeria. For example, if you apply to a master course, lets say Leibniz Universitat, you can email your course coordinator to ask when they will be giving out admission that you are asking this due to the difficulties in booking a student visa appointments due to the large numbers of students and that you have to book ahead (i have done this before and they told me the exact time they will give the admission because the universities too knows that you need a visa to enter Germany and it can takes a while before getting the visa and thats why some universities advises students to always apply few months to the deadline so they can have a decision early) though not all the universities have nice course coordinators but some are cool. The university of Bonn releases admission letter late for the master course in Geodetic Engineering but maybe thing have changed with them.

So please strategize and book appointment ahead if you know what you are doing and you are very very very sure you will get an admission between 2 months or less. I will say people that applied through Uni Assist should book an appointment immediately they get their evaluation and the documents have been sent to the schools for decisions. In the confirmation email the embassy will send to you after your make a reservation online, stating your reference number, passport number, blah blah blah, there is a link to cancel your reservation incase you later have a rejection. But why will you be rejected if you got the criteria??... and that is why its good to apply to many universities as possible esp to non restricted courses and also application to smaller universities in smaller cities. Some universities are always happy international students are applying to their courses

I wish y'all the very best.

Greetings everyone,

For those with good grades and some work experience coupled with some skills. i will advise you to apply for the ERASMUS MUNDUS scholarship, it doesnt stop you from applying for self funded admission in Germany, i mean even if you later make it to Germany and you later get the scholarship, you can take the scholarship and leave your present school. From my experience, ERASMUS scholarship is more easier to get compared to DAAD. Most ERASMUS scholarship application period will open around July, August, Sept, Oct, Nov, (2019) and will close around Oct Nov Dec, and Jan Feb of 2020 depending on the school. And some of these courses are just online applications meaning you dont have to send hard copy documents to the school, its just to upload all your relevant academic documents.

So here is the link to look for courses, all the ERASMUS courses are listed there, you click on your choice of course and it takes you to the application page.

There's something our veterans haven't laid much emphasis on, that's about this blocked account for another year. I have these questions please if you have an idea of the answers please don't hesitate to inform us(me).
All my questions are on the assumption that you're going for a Masters Degree for 2 years.

1. Which of the states gives 2 years straight visa with the initial 8640 euro?

2. Which of the states gives 1 year straight visa with the initial 8640 euro? And do you have to provide another 8640 euro to get another 1 year? If not is there a work around?

3. After the 2 years course and you decided to go for PHD, how much are you expected to block? I'm kinda sure there are answers to this questions in the group. Please feel free to educate us(me)
All these questions have been answered before. There is no question people ask that has not been answered here before except for some visa issues related questions. However let me answer this.

1. These are the places i know that gives 2 years: Hannover, Zweibrucken, Berlin, Freiberg, and some more i cant remember.

2. Places that gives 1 year that i know: Gottingen, Hamburg. for more cities, then you gotta know somebody or friends that have gotten those cities permit before or somebody with vast information. And yes you have to show proof of finance for the second year but some cities esp small cities doesnt require the whole 8640, some can ask for 3k, 4k, 5k and this money doesnt need to be blocked. meaning you can quickly borrow money from friends (if you aint buoyant) and put it in your bank account, get your permit and withdraw the money back.

3. i believe most PhD are sponsored cuz its basically research, you can use a job contract to get the permit or your PhD allowance, its not that hard.

Perhaps something is wrong with your sponsorship letter. The embassy can decide to reject somebody even if the Alien office approved the visa. I am not saying you have been rejected. But Since you contacted your alien office and they said you should contact the embassy, i guess there is really nothing you can do except to pray and wait for the embassy's decision.

In the meantime, please track your prepaid envelope (the one you took with you to the interview) because embassy can be funny at times

Hi everyone!

So I stumbled upon this site late last year and it's been AMAZING, I've laughed, dragged people, been dragged, learned a lot and contributed the little I know, made really great friends who I'd love to have forever. On here I made friends who helped me every step of the way, whenever I had issues (I MEAN SOMEONE I'VE NEVER MET HELPED ME GET AN INTERVIEW DATE) and to all of them I say thank you, it's been wonderful meeting you all.

Now that I'm done speaking English and making sure my degree fees have been well spent, here's my time-line :
Interview date: 11th February
AM: 12th March (7:24 am) I spilled my tea!
Sent passport and insurance : 14th March.

Hoping to get all back next week, all the best to everyone expecting a response.

i am going to hannover
i mailed the school the said i can only re apply for winter semester because its an admission through studienkolleg, so that 7th was my aufnahme prufung date

pls i would love to have the contact of the office in hannover hope the will respond? because i need to know my stand right now
Now let me talk about what i think caused your delay which I'm 90% sure it's the reason.
If your SL didn't come from hannover (clearly it didn't thus the delay). Just know that hannover office would've written your sponsor within 15 days you submitted the SL to send his 3 month pay slips, registration certificate to them whether through postal mail or through email stated in the posted letter. Now If your sponsor didn't get the letter, that's problem one. And its not thier own problem.

If your sponsor decided to send it to them by email, it's possible they didn't receive it. Why? Because On the letter hannover auslanderbehorde sends to sponsor requesting thier docs, the email they put there is "32.33.7@hannover.de"
But let me bust your bubble, the correct email in which they used in receiving it and which should be on the posted letter is "32.33.7@hannover-stadt.de"
This is an error which they are yet to correct, I don't just know. So the best is for your sponsor to send the requested docs thru postal mail to them, their postal mail address is always in the undersigned. And it takes 2-3 days for them to verify the SL and give the embassy feedback after getting the documents they need. So contact your sponsor if he received any letter from hannover auslanderbehorde concerning the SL he signed for you.

Which city did your SL come from??
Thier contact email is "32.33.7@hannover-stadt.de"

7th is the date of the test. Okay visa can't be issued again!! You need to apply for winter, by that time, your SL would have expired(SL must not be more than 6 months when you are applying for visa). Let me advise you on what to do.

Mail the embassy and tell them you know visa can't be issued if enrolment deadline have passed, ask them to please help you defer your visa application to winter and that you will send the new admission letter to them when you get it. I hope they agree, if they say they don't agree. You will have to withdraw your visa application.

Hi Guys. Kudus to the experienced ones here helping us. Please. Can I certify the photocopy of the student transcript copy and use it for admission or must I get the standard one from the school. And since I am applying to many schools how do I go about certifying my documents? Can I make more than one photocopies and certify each of them ?
If you are in lagos, use the German embassy,
You can use the student copy (must be stamped and signed)
You need to certify each sets documents you will be sending, if you are sending to 5 schools not under uniassist, you will certify 5.
If you are sending to schools under uniassist (whether 5 or 10), you just need to send 1 certified set of document with each of the schools' application form, they will use that one set of doc to process all your applications.

good pm fam
please i dont know if anybody has experienced this.
i need suggestions on what to do
i had my interview on the 12th of december 2018 but without prove of finace bt i was told to produce one as soon as posible it took me quite a while before my SL came i went to submit it the first time but oga pauli rejcted me so i mailed the embassy and the said i should explain the relationship between me and my sponsor which i did after that mail i sent them the didnt reply me i went to submit my SL again on the 11th of Feb finally pauli accepted it.i have mailed the embassy no response my resumption date was on the 7th of march i did not recieve my AM till now i havent been rejected.
i am just confused what can i do cause i have mailed
and mailed but no response from the embassy
Sorry for your ordeal.
First mistake: you shouldn't have mailed them concerning dropping the SL (sometimes they respond and sometimes they dont and they don't give a damn), all you could have just done was to post it through courier even if you stay in lagos with a signed noted stating your reasons for using SL, you should have known you can't near the embassy's premises without an appointment or the embassy telling you to bring the original SL (I'm surprised paulinus later collected it).

Now that the deed has been done. You need to take steps:
1. Contact the alien office of the city you heading to make enquires concerning your visa application, if they can't speak English, get someone that speaks German to connect with them.
2. If you are heading to hannover or Munich, I can give you the contact of the office in charge of verification of SL. They speak English too.
And this March 7 you stated, is it your enrolment deadline?
If it's your enrolment deadline, please contact your school and beg for an enrollment extension, if you are lucky to get the extension, mail it to the embassy.

Which city are you heading to?

Don't be scared, as long as your enrolment deadline has not passed. Whenever you send SL after interview, they will start afresh to process your visa application. It usually takes time
It depends on the city you heading to... Freiberg, Magdeburg, Hannover, Munich and some cities/town won't start afresh, they just need to verify the creditworthiness of the SL but i know of Schweinfurt. If you are heading to schweinfurt and you send your SL later, they will start your application afresh.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Immafrank: 7:49pm On Mar 07, 2019
Greetings everyone,

This important information is for all winter semester applicants and future ones that will be using Verpflichtungserklarung fur studium (Sponsorship Letter, SL), please read carefully all that is involved using SL and how the embassy operates with it.

Firstly, I want to let you know that using a Verpflichtungserklarung fur studium does not guarantee the issuance of student visa (I don’t care where you will be getting it from whether issued by a family, an acquaintance, or you paid), you stand the same chance as every other applicant using Blocked account. If you are using SL, you can still be rejected on the basis that your sponsor is not capable. The rejection is always in this form from the embassy.

“Your secured subsistence cost is not ensured in Germany”
“There are doubts regarding your secured subsistence cost in Germany”

Now I know you want to ask me why the office in Germany gave your sponsor the letter if he wasn’t capable to sponsor you in the first place. I want you to know that different cities/town in Germany have their own criteria in giving out the SL. Let’s take a case like the Auslanderbehorde in Munich, if your sponsor is living in Munich which is the most expensive city in Germany, as of September 2018, your sponsor must be earning 1,880 Euro monthly before tax to sponsor 1 person if he is single (and must be earning 2,610 Euro to sponsor 2 people), if he has a kid living with him or married without kid, he must be earning 2,300 Euro monthly before tax to sponsor 1 person (and must be earning 3,040 Euro to sponsor 2 people), if he is married with a kid, he must be earning 2,540 Euro monthly before tax to sponsor 1 person (and must be earning 3,270 Euro to sponsor 2 people), if he is married with 2 kids, he must be earning 2,780 Euro monthly before tax to sponsor 1 person (and must be earning 3,510 Euro to sponsor 2 people). This is the breakdown of how Munich checks your sponsor to see his/her eligibility to sponsor you. So different cities got its own breakdown of how much your sponsor must be earning monthly to sponsor you. Normally, after all monthly tax, bills and have been deducted from his monthly salary, he must have 720 or 730 Euro left, that’s how they do it. You can see it equates to the amount of blocked account (BA) to be dispensed to you monthly if you are using BA.

Now, some cities issues this letter even without your sponsor not being capable or not earning that stipulated amount and that is where you start having issues with the foreigners office of the city you are heading to and definitely with the embassy. A city I know that gives sponsors the SL without the sponsor being capable is Pforzheim, Germany. This city dishes out the letters anyhow and most of the letters I have seen that comes from Pforzheim always ended up being rejected by the embassy. Part of the criteria generally in Germany in issuing this SL is that your sponsor must hold a Permanent Residence permit or Temporary residence permit or must be a German citizen or EU citizen to sponsor you (This is the only residence titles your sponsor must have to be issued the SL). Now there is what they call fiktionbeschenigung (fiction certificate), this is the permit they give people living in Germany that applied for a residence permit and the foreigners office has not yet decided on the residence permit whether to issue the applicant or not, so they give the person a fiktionbeschenigung, this person can work with it pending the time they decide on his/her RP. This person is not allowed to stand as a sponsor which is clearly stated by most cities in Germany but Pforzheim can give people with a fiktionbeschenigung (that’s how bad Pforzheim is), now imagine you are applying to another city with this SL signed by a person with a fiktionbeschenigung, that’s auto rejection.

Let me talk about Hannover city, now Hannover has one of the strictest foreigners’ office in Germany, and the place is always filled up. If your SL is coming from any city in Germany, whether from Munich, Hamburg, and so on, just know that Hannover will write your sponsor through postal mail to send some documents including his/her 3 month payslips to check the creditworthiness of the SL, Hannover will now make their own calculations to see if your sponsor is really capable (they always do this because they know some cities are not strict with the letter and due to fluctuating credit-rating of different cities), after making their own calculations and they see your sponsor does not meet up their criteria, then sorry is your case, even if your sponsor is a white German or White EU citizen, they will write him, and if your sponsor doesn’t get the letter Hannover sent him asking for his docs, that’s not their problem, and they wont write another one, so your sponsor must have a working mail box. You might want to ask how they will know your sponsor’s address, your sponsors address will be asked when filling the SL. So I advise you all, please if your letter is coming from another city and you are going to Hannover, don’t try it, you will be disappointed, the best is for your SL to come from Hannover if you are heading to hannover, you wont even have issues, that’s auto acceptance. Hannover is the only city I know that writes sponsors to send documents and this is how to verify SL issued from other cities.

Furthermore, there is a particular number of people a person can sponsor (I don’t the exact number) but let me give you a real life case that happened summer 2018 and winter 2018. There is this German-Nigerian man in Germany, he own a company so he is earning so much money to even sponsor 40 students, in summer 2018, he sponsored about 7 people and they made it to Germany. In winter 2018, he gave about 11 people SL again, and embassy rejected all of the 11 people. Why? Because there is a rule of how many people you can sponsor. Why did they give him in the office in Germany since he was already sponsoring 7 people? The answer is he went to another city to get the SL. Yes, your sponsor can leave his residence city and go to another city to get the SL.

If your sponsor is living in Berlin, Berlin has 2 offices where this SL is issued from, there is one for long term (student, family reunioun and so on) and there is office for short term (visiting, tourism and so on.)
Also, the embassy are not the ones that verifies SL, embassy send your SL to the city you are heading to in Germany and the city does the verification, now the embassy can still decide whether to give you the visa or not, meaning even if your foreigners office in Germany approves your visa, embassy can still reject you for different reasons. They might say “they doubt your indicated purpose of trip” they have their own convictions are you cant sue or fight them.

I hope I have stated all what prospective applicant that wants to use SL needs to know. And please and please, don’t pay anybody you don’t know personally for SL, I read part 4 of this thread where a guy was scammed 400k, a lot of scammers in town now cause they know people are desperate to leave Nigeria, and there are scammers in Germany too, if you get scammed, you get scammed for life, you cant hold anybody, and even if you got the SL and the embassy rejects you based on any reason, then the money you paid is gone.
This is my 2 cents. BE WISE and BE SHARP!!!! A lot of people are crying in one corner now for this.
I read a post some pages back where one Guy was saying he has 2 million naira and he can’t raise the remaining 1.6 million for the blocked account. Dude if you are reading this, you better hustle for that complete money. I have a friend that had to stay back for a year in Nigeria to get the complete blocked account money and now he is in DE.

NB: SL can be handwritten (filled with pen) or typed-written. SL from Munich is always handwritten except for the official remark, date of entry, employer of your sponsor, and date of issuance of the SL, all these I mentioned are always typed. To get a sample of SL and how it looks like, type “Verpflichtungserklarung” on google, facebook or Instagram, you will see samples.
And please when you get your SL, before the sponsor sends the original by post mail, always request for the softcopy and check that your details (Full name, passport number, date of birth, purpose of stay in Germany) is correct.

TCHUSS!

This birth cert thing is a bit confusing... called the embassy's hotline and the call center lady said local government issued birth cert is accepted but hearing conflicting story here..

As anyone used local government issued birth cert here? has anyone been rejected cus of local government issued cert?
Clearly stated on the checklist, you don't need to stress your self.
*if you were born before 1992, go and do age declaration in court deposed by your mom or dad(don't go and be using local govt birth cert alone but you can also go with it)
*your local govt state of origin can also suffice for old biographical document (if you got it 5 yrs ago)
STRICTLY ADHERE BY THE CHECKLIST TO AVOID FUNNY STORIES!

The SL is genuine,no issue with that. Again health insurance wasn't part of the documents required for the interview. The reason for the rejection is "There are doubts concerning the indicated purpose of your trip "
Clearly the issue is not from your sponsorship letter or health insurance (you don't even need health insurance for interview). If the problem was from your sponsorship letter, the rejection paper would be in this format...

"There are doubts regarding your secured subsistence cost in Germany"
OR
"Your secured finance in Germany is not ensured"

So something was wrong in your application or interview (i don't know which). So wait on @dailydollar to send you an appeal format

For those that went for interview recently. Pls do i fill visa form manually or I fill online and print then sign? Which is better?
There is no specific directives on what to fill with. You can fill with hand or fill with Adobe acrobat reader but you must sign with hand and not electronically. On the last part, The date must be the date of your interview and the place must be where your interview is holding... Lagos or Abuja. Print the 2 visa forms... no photocopies
