It depends on what you define as "normal"! Is there a law that mandates a candidate to participate in a debate? Obviously, None! If you choose not to vote a candidate because of not participating in a debate, you are within your right AND SO IS THE CANDIDATE WHO CHOOSES NOT TO! A candidate can employ other channels to reach his audience because the people who vote in this country don't watch debates!

Annoyingly, those who are privilege hardly patronize road side sellers. They keep on giving their money to the capitalist . Buying fresh fruits at road side compared to mall or mart is almost 10% difference

Lately, I have been deliberately buying some things at the road side just to boost the economy

Sometimes, different people do the same thing for different reasons. Not everyone that shops at malls do so for ostentation sake. Some people do it for hygiene sake. Roadside sellers will sneeze into the gutter or urinate or even go to a hidden corner to poo and return to their stand to continue selling without washing their hands. I have watched a food hawker using water from the gutter to wash the plates she was using to serve people. Actually, the water was rushing out of the gutter wall like tap water, and looked clean. Some of the customers (mostly bus drivers and bus loaders) that crowded her watched her use the water to wash the plates and afterwards accepted the food served in those plates.

A few days ago, I wanted to buy Dates from an Aboki. I sighted him while he was still a bit far and I was waiting for him to get to where I was standing so that I would patronise him. As he was coming, he stopped, packed his wheelbarrow, moved close to a gutter, urinated and returned to continue his movement without washing his hands. As he was getting closer to where I was standing, someone stopped him and he had to use a cup to measure tiger nuts into a waterproof bag for the person. This is the same person who just urinated without washing his hands. But if there's a shopping mall nearby and I ignore him to patronise the shopping mall, someone like you will condemn me for not patronising him.

I pity roadside sellers. I give them money when I can afford to do so. When I manage to buy things from them, I don't accept balance from them. But I don't have to express the pity to the detriment of my health.

Apart from hygiene, there is another concern. The ones that hawk cashew nuts are very mischievous and crafty. They use neat cashew nuts to cover very bad ones in the nylons or in the bottles. Once you open what you got from them, you will regret patronising them. If it is not wickedness, why do they carefully use neat ones to cover the bad ones? If you buy cashew nut from a shopping mall, the nuts inside will be as neat as the ones you could see from outside the transparent bottle.

The headline is childish. The headline is chosen with the intention to sensationalize this post. The headline is childish because borrowing is indeed not criminal. Instead of telling us what we don't know, you are constituting nuisance by repeating what we already know. We already know that borrowing is not criminal. What we don't know is how the borrowed money has been spent.

I don't like this regime. I don't like the personality of Tinubu. But when I want to criticise Tinubu or this regime, I do it logically, not childishly.

Neither the headline nor any part of the post explains what has been achieved with the borrowed money. No part of the post calls for constitutional amendment so that too much borrowing will become criminal. The media is just interested in making noise and making money. If the media really cares about the masses, the media should challenge the management of the borrowed money and use this Tinubu's statement as an excuse to advocate for constitutional amendments so that too much borrowing will be criminalised. But the media, instead of doing so, is only good at constituting nuisance.

Yes. They willingly do it. They said they like resting on Mondays. As a matter of fact, they are not complaining. How come the media and non-Easterners are the ones complaining?

Some weeks or months ago, Soludo wanted to force shops to open on Mondays but traders did a video and said they like staying at home on Mondays. In the video, they emphasized that they are not complaining about losing money on Mondays.

IPOB no longer disturbs people's businesses on Mondays. But traders and even civil servants now enjoy staying at home on Mondays. Many of them use Mondays for fitness exercise. But the media, for political reasons, will always make it look as if traders are against staying at home on Mondays.

Learn to read. I already answered you. The job of a presidential (or any) candidate is to win his election and to employ strategies that will aid in that. Post morterm is for those who lost! If a candidate avoided a debate especially one by an hostile organizer and wins then it was the right strategy to avoid it.

all you have displayed here is the arrogance of the 10%. The 90% don"t watch these debates. These debates are for the educated English speaking mostly city dwelling wannabees to make themselves feel important and who think Nigeria is America so we must do everything they do. Clearly you still haven"t understood the message. Educated people in their arrogance still dont understand that when it comes to elections, we are not important! Election is a numbers game, we dont have the numbers to be important and even the numbers we have are split so as a demographic, we are net zero! So as a presidential candidate i will attend a debate 1) if the demographic is sympathetic towards me 2) i need their votes. Conversely I will avoid it if 1) they are hostile and 2) they dont affect the outcome.

it is normal for a presidential candidate (or any candidate) to target those whose votes will make him win and avoid the hostiles who were never going to vote for him. it is a f0ol who targets 10% as the expense of the 90%. It is also a fool who goes into a hostile environment for votes he does not need. There is nothing to be gained!!! whether he debated or not, you were never going to vote for him, you only wanted an opportunity to mock him and he denied you because he is smarter than your ancestors..

Both Trump and Harris avoided debates or interviews they viewed would not help their cause.

Did he not win? Did Monday not win EDO despite blanking Arise TV? People who win elections understand their electorate and dont pander to the hostile minority who don’t determine outcomes. All the english speaking wannabes are less than 10% of the population but you ascribe to yourselves more importance in the democratic process than the reality.

When you win (it is only the person who wins the election that can have presidential media parleys). You can talk to them.

Sentiment and emotions do not win elections. Tinubu is holding presidential media parley, Obi is making himself a nuisance on Twitter to remain relevant.

Must you try to derail every topic? This is not about whether he won or he didn't win. The point is that he is about to do what he refused to do during the campaign. The point is also that it is abnormal for a presidential candidate to avoid a presidential debate during campaigns.

You should know that theres no way he was ever gonna spend above what he allocated for each region. So that means those with lesser budget wouldnt have excess-financing of whatever project being carried out there
