And some of these tests cannot even be done here in naija.
There's urinalysis test strip, dey dip in urine usually just Sorts alot. And every clinic visit they do urinalysis at least for Dr E. Which is part of ur bill tho.
Ogtt is extreme Abeg lol. Glucose in urine which wld be seen in urinalysis. Or fbs ( which can be done first thing in morning.

My point is there are basic tests for pregnant women.
Which is hepatitis HIV syphilis (stds generally) genotype, blood group, PCV. Nd may be TORCHES
These are basic tests. ( I hope I'm not missing anyone out)

Importantly I doubt a teaching Hospital will wanna carry out that list of tests. What's the indication for the tests?
And if u say d Hospital requested, I'm sure they'll wanna see a letter.

When I travelled I did just the above and didn't do any extra test except Dr's E compulsory tests she does at 36 weeks.


BUT like nairaland culture alot is better than less.

i traveled with my car seat i used for first baby. it made up my 2nd luggage when leaving 9ja as i checked it in.

I got from port health before the airport at pH. But I think you can get from a hospital. I had already come to the airport, but the refused to let me fly, so I got from port health and got on the next flight.
I was 35 weeks but looked smaller, so the nurse wrote 29weeks.

if you have both receipt and letter, go with both. if not use letter alone. its about carrying documents that can favor your interview.

yes you can do it in houston. I got my baby's SSN in Phoenix and arranged passport in California.

Get to the airport early and get it.
They said they give only on same day of flight.
And the do not issue fit to fly after 30 weeks. I flew 6 days ago, and i had to cry and beg (for over 4mins) and even write an undertaken of responsibility because i was flying at 33 weeks 5 days.

Or was it actually a discounted rate offered to self pay patients Abeg, I even asked for Francisca Hernandez the then financial counselor but they claim shes no longer with them.

I dont think the old MIHS bill is in relation to any US government anything. I asked and asked then because i wanted to be sure. It was a discounted rate offered to self pay patients. A couple other hospitals in Arizona had similar discounted rates. Tucson still offers such. So i dont think it was any government related.

If you want to use airbnb, ensure you tell your host you are pregnant and will have a baby at the latter end of your stay. I used airbnb on my first missionary journey and they host midstay started saying how she doesn't like children in her apartment.

yeah. its discounted already. its the hosp bill that 25k plus. they said its discounted like so oh.. im still on the mater.
ambulance/emergency didn't discount anything.
same with anesthesiologist.
some other services had some discount

though got a payment plan spaced through 12 months .

Summary: All was fine. I enjoyed the care rendered until after delivery. When the effect of the epidural had worn out, the pain from the tear arose. then i was told i had a 4th degree tear with a 3.58kg baby. the delivery was just badly managed.
i was already dealing with the pain when 2 weeks later, i started bleeding. i bled till i passed out, and the ambulance was called. rushed to the emergency, scan showed remnant of placenta tissue. and i had a d and c.
and life continued.

WoW! sorry about your experience. Almost similar to my experience. Except that i had a 4th degree tear and the left some placenta in me which was discovered 2 weeks later, after i had almost bled to death.
All in all. We thank God for life.

Extended stay america on east oak is nice too. And its about 8mins[($11) cab to d hosp.
Its probably very slightly more expensive than crossland but u get a good bargain for a longer stay.
The reviews online r really opposite from what ive seen staying here.i dont understand this oyibo pple.
And a plus is that its a walking distance from lots of stores, resturants, pharmacy e.t.c.

from previous history, Crossland economy studio and Extended stay america, are about the cheapest (and where most other preggies are) u can get.
And u get the d discount package on >60days stay. that will be about $820 or so month.

u can get a room with double bed. yeah (would u want to b sharing with a stranger?)

About the $500 prenatal fee: A one time $500 prenatal care fee has been included in Delivery Options 1, 2 and 3 above. its not an extra fee. its already in d package.
