PoliticsIhedioha Destroying State Infrastructure – Imo Youths by Imo1stson(op): 7:49pm On Jul 12, 2019
As the war of words between Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State and his predecessor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha continues, the governor has been accused of destroying the State’s infrastructure.

The allegation was contained in a press statement by Imo Patriotic Youths Vanguard, signed by its spokesman, Barrister Obinna Okoli.

According to the group, Ihedioha was engaging in the said action just to spite Okorocha, to the detriment of the people of the State.

The statement made available to DAILY POST read: “We wish to alert all well meaning Imolites and of course, all Nigerians to a badly advised action by the Imo State governor, His Excellency Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and his agents, which targets to destroy some legacy infrastructures put in place by the administration of his immediate predecessor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha. This unfortunate and ill-advised action by the Imo State governor is wrong and deemed a sabotage to the people of Imo State, and as critical stakeholders and non-partisan observers we therefore wish to state as follows:

“That every project executed by the immediate past administration and indeed every project executed in Imo State by any administration belongs to the people of Imo State and we demand that the new government takes steps to ensure that these projects are protected and maintained for the benefit of generality of Imolites.

“That the body language of the incumbent governor of Imo State, His Excellency Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha should grow beyond petty political sentiments and take steps to safeguard assets belonging to the State without minding which administration put these infrastructures in place.

“That as an association, our members are drawn from across political Parties, but our key interest is the continued development of the State and we deplore any action that tends to project our dear State in bad light.

“That we have it on good authority that the governor of Imo State has instructed some hooligans who mostly belong to the Peoples Democratic Party to destroy some infrastructure put in place by the immediate past APC administration in the State and we declare that this action is in bad taste and therefore highly condemnable.

“That we recognize that these projects were executed with funds belonging to the people of Imo State and the destruction of these projects is seen as sabotage by all well meaning Imolites.”

The Youth group further claimed that “assets of the State government are being looted by agents of the present government.

“These individuals have continued to loot furnitures, Hospital equipment and other properties belonging to the people of Imo State, because the present government has failed to completely take charge of governance and understand that government properties should be protected from the excesses of lawless individuals.

“That the recruitment of media influencers by the current administration for the sole purpose of projecting the state of Imo’s infrastructure in bad light is economically disastrous to the State, as this has scared potential investors away from the State, thereby contributing to job losses and insecurity in the State.

“That while we do not speak for the immediate past administration in the State nor are we fans to the governance style of Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha, we are afraid that going by the initial steps, actions and utterances of the incumbent governor, Imo may be in big trouble, as it does not seem that the incumbent governor has any vision for the continued development of Imo State.

“That we call on the PDP led government to concentrate on governing the State and bringing the dividends of democracy to the people instead of the political witch-hunt targeted at Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha and members of his political and biological families.

“We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to pay special attention to Imo State, as it is becoming increasingly obvious by the day that the current government in the State is hell-bent on igniting crisis in the State through its actions and utterances.

“That the governor of Imo State should come out clean on allegations making the rounds on social media that he has squandered over two Billion Naira of Imo public funds on sponsoring media attacks against his predecessor, while civil servants and pensioners are abandoned to penury and pains.

“We demand an immediate stoppage to the ongoing destruction of public infrastructure in the State, and request the Federal Government through the relevant security agencies to do more towards protecting Imo infrastructure from vandalization and looting.”

Today hundreds of pensioners are protesting against Ihedioha, House of Assembly is protesting attempt by Ihedioha to reduce their pay, civil servants are protesting delay in payment and under payment. Meanwhile there is no ongoing infrastructural project, daily sweeping of streets as has always been the case, no ongoing repair of failed portion of roads except the ones being done by FG through NDDC. The only 2 things he has done is to clear old flowers and plant new ones or evacuate pile of refuse generated as a result of failure of environmental management.

Abogwara shut up your dirty smelling mouth. These projects below are supposed to be signature projects of okoroawusa administration. These are projects that he should have been remembered for, but look at what he built.

Okoroawusa failed Imolites. There's no project okoroawusa did that's standing today. Just one month of leaving office.

Okoroawusa failed WOEFULLY and wasted 8yrs, stop your propaganda because it is not working

I won't argue with you but once again I'm not Abogwara or whatever you call me and I know my State more than you do so I'm in a better position to report than you that relies on what you are fed by the media or paid bloggers.

Shut up useless old man. Nkpor flyover never collapsed because it was properly built, it was one of the approach lanes that was eaten by erosion and immediately it was fixed. It is never the same as the substandard shabby Owerri flyover that started collapsed immediately it was completed.

There's no single project done by okoroawusa that's standing today, is it the Owerri culvert tunnel? Which one of them.

Okoroawusa failed woefully as a governor. Stop defending a failure. You should be ashamed of yourself

These are all okoroawusa signature projects that failed almost immediately after completion because they were all substandard shabby projects.

You would have been in a position to argue if you were from Imo State but I guess you are not so you probably rely on media in your assessment of Rochas. He has thousands of projects standing but you are only shown maybe 4 to 10 out of 2000 projects as his only projects. Subtract every bad project you can count out of 2000 which can at most be 100 meaning 1900 others are still standing and visible including just these 4 I have here

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by Imo1stson: 10:54am On Jul 11, 2019
Nearly 2 months after assumption of office reports from Owerri say Ihedioha has still not done anything except fighting Rochas Okorocha who left over 59 billion Naira for him. Yesterday he was said to have shared over 750 million Naira among media influencers not to project his programs but rather to give false and bad reports against Okorocha. Today he was said to have hired demonstrators against Okorocha who has not said one word against Ihedioha since May 29th and he has also been attacking Uloma Nwosu who is the 1st daughter of Okorocha that owns businesses in Owerri.

I'm highly concerned if the Ihedioha of a man has any good advicers or he is doing all these in his right senses. Whoever might know him from our dear State or a bit close to him should give him advice to stop chasing shadows and start work.

Another thing is getting people in host communities to embrace investors, cooperate with them and help them to secure their assets,

If my memory serves me right, l think there was a time in the first tenure of Rochas, some investors brought in their equipments to set up a ceramic factory in a particular lga, but they were frustrated by communal bickering, till this day, it didn't materialize.
You're right. Imo people learnt host entitlement mentality from Rivers State because of the proximity and it is very bad. That's what killed Ada Palm.

Lol the issue is that truth hurts you badly. If Imo state has half the roads in Anambra, then Imo state will be so rich.

I have traveled all over Imo state in the last 2 months, at least 80% of the roads in Imo state are in shambles, dilapidated and unmotorable. Owerri is even worse. There's no basis for comparison as Imo state is still far behind.

Below are some of rural roads in Anambra. There's no such big road as this anywhere in rural Imo stste. Theoblem with you is that you hate the truth.

[s][/s]
That's Agulu road to Awka and it is horrible now. Maybe you used it earlier and it's definitely not as wide as roads in Imo State rural and urban areas. Let's not start this comparison.

Lack of quality roads and expansive greenery throughout the city is what is letting Owerri down. Also outside of Owerri, the rest of the state is lacking good roads like you see connecting towns all over Anambra.
Where in Anambra has better wide roads and expansive greenery that I don't know? I've transversed Anambra completely and even drove from Urualla to Awka via Ekwulobia and Agulu last weekend. The roads are pretty bad and narrow.

Is this the only set of businesses that Owerri can attract?

If I get a chance to govern Imo State, my first move would be to place an embargo on hotel businesses.

Rochas once announced it in 2011...perhaps he lacked the guts to implement it.

This nonsense is getting outta hand.

People should invest in the real sector or knowledge economy

How about real estate?

I hear accommodation in Owerri is the most expensive in South East...why's everyone rushing to build a hotel?

We have enough hotels and casinos now
Real estate is booming across the nooks and crannies but the bedrock of Owerri seems to be on the hospitality which attracted the real estate which has attracted furniture and roof tiles manufacturing industries already before Okorocha left. A lot of industries like food processing, water production, livestock farming and tile manufacturing plants have also been established within the last 5 years which I believe is linked to the booming hospitality and real estate. I will just post some of the industries. Meanwhile I heard this is Hilton Hotel at 40-40 roundabout.

Honestly, I don't know.
But if there was a committee set up, and Ihedioha's camp didn't work them, then he also has to take some blame. All the same, Permanent secretaries and Directors of respective ministries should know details of the situation since they are not government appointees.
Ihedioha and PDP carefully avoided anything that will prove smooth transition took place.

1 He refused to go on inspection of Government house with Okorocha because they already planned to lie it was vandalized

2 He refused to sit down and balance account with Okorocha so that he would give the excuses he's giving now.

3 He refused to use Heroes Square for his programs so that the world would not acknowledge the beauty as Okorocha built it.

Everything he has been doing is a script embedded in deceit for outsiders and his PDP friends not Imolites. The resistance he got at attempted Akachi demolition should have thought him a lesson that the propaganda is no longer flying. Mark it somewhere he will be the 1st Governor to be pelted with stones if he does not face governance ASAP.

Honestly, no human has the right to sound this stvpid. Were you dropped on your head when you were born?

So, according to you, Imo State suddenly ground to a halt because emperor Okorocha vacated office on May 29? Ihedioha hasn't commissioned a bridge or a factory or a road within 3 days of Okorocha limping out from government house, and that means he is not qualified to govern?

Abagworo, who do you this thing? This claim of wealth all the time, are you feeding anyone here? If you are richer than Dangote, i don't give a rats ass. Shove your pennies up your butthole, man. Imo is suddenly your state, and not Rivers State anymore, abi? undecided
So, imo State was developing faster than every state in Nigeria until May 28? Hallelujah! Breaking news from the stable of rètards. Clearly, Rochas anointed you with the updated version of his iberibe before he limped out as governor. Tufia!
First of all learn that I am not Abagworo so you assimilate my point. Ask anyone in Owerri if work was not going on simultaneously across the State at very high pace till 29th of May and the entire works have stopped since then. Assuming a serious Governor took over, the works would have continued unhindered but rather what we've seen is destruction and propaganda even when he is already Governor. The 3 days is now 6 days and will soon be one month but nothing new. Okorocha flagged off 400 rural roads under RAMP on his last day in office and the money for that is already down and is not from allocation. Ihedioha might attempt to claim it but Imolites are on the watch to resist him. We expect him to bring Julius Berger and construct more riads, schools, houses for widows and less privileged, equip hospitals, maintain free education than Okorocha. In addition he has to clear inherited backlog of pensions.
