And yet these same people are right here on Nairaland defending worse thieves that stole billion of Naira. I will be happier watching the treasury looters mobbed than these petty thieves. |
Guy this one your tummy is already bulging at this stage I fear for you after the wedding. |

Owelle! Detribalised Igbo leader and pacesetter. May your work for the peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians be fruitful. |
Because military rule is cheap and devoid of due process. No senate, no reps, no councilors, no PAs and all the leakages that have to do with democracy. Our democracy is heading to 18 years and we are yet to achieve 1/3rd of the infrastructures put in place by the military despite enjoying 7 years of mega oil boom between 2006 and 2014. |

Abdulsalami is Nupe. An Hausa will not rule Nigeria as they joined Fulani to form a new Hausa/Fulani merger ethnicity in order to be majority. Of course the price they have to pay is Fulani taking their turn. |

Anything more than 27k is an economic error. 56k will just ground Nigeria in 2 months. |
Wife of Imo State Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha has handed over three more two-bed room bungalows to indigent widows in continuation of such gestures under her pet project, “SHE NEEDS A ROOF PROGRAMME (SNARP)”. Handing over the buildings on Tuesday November 1, 2016 to the three beneficiaries, Mrs. Roseline Igwe from Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Mrs Rosemary Ebere from Owerri Municipal and the first son of Mrs Grace Iheanacho from Owerri- West who died before the handover ceremony, Nneoma Okorocha said she would continue to feel highly honoured by God for using her to be putting smiles on the faces of those whose situations have made them to forget how to smile again. Nneoma Okorocha has built more than two hundred of such houses for widows and other indigent women across the twenty seven Local Governments in the State, stating that one of the best ways to honour God is by putting smiles on the faces of people especially the less privileged. http://www.imostateblog.com/2016/11/02/imo-first-lady-donates-3-more-bungalows-to-indigent-widows/ |
Upritman:He is not resident in Rivers State and you know in Nigeria people can write anything for politics. Here is a very credible link from Tide Newspaper owned by Rivers State. http://www.thetidenewsonline.com/2016/09/09/nut-orders-teachers-back-to-school-demands-payment-of-salary-arrears/ The Rivers State Wing Executive Council (SWEC) of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), has called on the State Government to expedite action in the payment of salaries owed its members. Rising from a meeting yesterday, the SWEC, in a communiqué, stated that it will call on its members to resume work from the 14th of September. However, the NUT said that if the State Government does not pay what it called “the backlog of salaries” owed its members, it will recall them from the classrooms. “After due considerations, the trust the union has on the Government of Rivers State, and for the interest of our younger generation, the union hereby urges teachers to resume schools by 14th September, 2016”, the communiqué said. It appealed that the government should as much as possible clear the backlog of salaries from February to August, 2016 owed teachers of Rivers State. “That if the backlog of salaries owed to teachers is not cleared from today, Thursday, 8th of September, to the 8th of October 2016, the union will have no other option than to call the teachers out of the classrooms”, the communiqué stated. The communiqué expressed worry that promotions of the teachers have not been implemented, adding that “promotion interviews conducted are not released and promotion interviews yet to be conducted”. According to the communiqué, promotions interviews carried out by the Universal Basic Education (SUBE) Board in 2010, 1011 and 2012 have not been implemented. The NUT further noted that the Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board (SSSB) promotion interviews conducted for 2009 and 2010 have also not been implemented. It also listed the promotions not released by the SSSB to include that of 2011, 2012, and 2013, while promotions not conducted are 2013, 2014 and 2015 (SUBE), and 2014 (SSSB). Earlier, the SWEC had commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike and the relevant agencies for their interventions on the pitiable plight of teachers in the state. Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Professor Kaniye Ebeku, in a meeting with the executives of NUT, assured that dialogue was ongoing concerning the payment of their salaries. He further stated that the Rivers State Government was committed to the welfare of teachers in the state. “The Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration is a responsible government, and undoubtedly committed to the welfare of its workers”, the Education boss stated. |
omenka:It's more than 7 months as most last received their February salaries. It's actually 9 months while pensioners are owed less. |
Qmerit:I have no pity for them. When one chooses evil over good he shouldn't expect good in his zone. Jonathanians where are you? |
Jonathan must be very bitter in his heart upon hearing this news. Congrats Bayelsa and once again events have proven that its not about tribe but willingness to lead well. |
ruggedised:The same people that nearly killed this man are the same people defending billion Naira thieves and ready to die for them. |
mekuzi09:It's not government policy but there is no Dollar and I believe you should know. He can only access part of and not all of required foreign exchange simply because there isn't enough to go round. That's one of the sacrifices we must make in order to develop locally. |
Stupid Nigerian mentality. Government should ban importation of anything Erisco into the country. He's looking for foreign exchange to operate a local industry and we all know Nigeria is experiencing foreign exchange scarcity as a result of low oil output and prices. Business environment in Nigeria is harsh and requires total patriotism to resist temptation of going to already developed countries like China. |
Flexherbal:Of course it is. |
Wike is right but he should do it in uthmost sincerity. Traditional rulers should never show open partisanship as they are the father of all. |
Miranda11:PDP and APC are not same but the members are virtually same. APC came into existence in 2013 while PDP was founded in 1998. |
ruffp:You are wrong and commented out of ignorance. Over 200 houses for widows is not few coming as a pet project. No Government official has ever done that and we should commend her for such pet project. Vanguard is an anti Okorocha media outfit http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/snarp-comfort-widows-others/ By Chidi Nkwopara, Owerri AFTER years of mourning the loss of their life partners and toiling to make ends meet, many widows in Imo State presently have reason to smile as they count their blessings, thanks to the wife of the state Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha. Identifying shelter as an essential need of the widows, the Imo First Lady had since 2011 under the auspices of her “She Needs a Roof Project, SNARP”, built, furnished and handed over more than 172 units of two- bedroom bungalows for indigent widows and orphans, who do not have roofs over their heads. Some other SNARP buildings for these vulnerable persons, are still under construction in all the 27 local council areas of Imo State. Apart from SNARP, Nneoma Okorocha also embarked on her “Nneoma Kitchen”, through which she reached out and touched lives via feeding, clothing the poor and visiting motherless babies and other charity homes across the state. Vanguard Metro, VM, gathered that the programme is designed to rekindle the spirit of being our brother’s keeper. Optimal potentials |
Champele:My friend sharrap and don't get me annoyed or we start the dirty photo war again. I already have hundreds of bad road pictures from Anambra waiting for the madness to start. Nkita ara! |
The militants might be right but the elders are wise enough to know that only peace can bring development. Had Jonathan been a good leader he would have used the peace and high oil revenue he enjoyed to improve the Niger Delta. So to avoid unnecessary war and possible collateral damage I still advice the militants to embrace peace and watch this government to judge their sincerity. |
They protest on their behalf
