There's no problem with the judgement. The section of the electoral act is not in tandem with the constitution. I watched a lawyer explaining this earlier this week, it was so clear.

Loudmouthed idiots like you represent everything that has gone wrong with Tinubu's campaign. You are no different in essence from the tribalistic mouth-breathers who insist Peter Obi is a saint who is solely qualified to lead Nigeria to the promised land: when anyone criticizes your lord and savior, your only response is to sling insults, as if insulting anybody would ever change them into supporting your candidate. In a few days we shall just how well your kind of animalistic behavior works to deliver votes.

PS: Given that I make far more than you will ever dream of making in your wildest fantasies, it's far more likely that you will be washing my plates rather than the other way around - and in your case you'll even be grateful for the opportunity, given that it will probably be better paid than anything you and yours have ever seen in your miserable lives.

A thing can be true and yet unwise to say. If you had a neighbor with an ugly child, would you just go up to him one day and say "your boy really sure does look like an ugly little monkey!" in the name of speaking the truth? Upon saying so, would you then be surprised if from that moment on your neighbor considered you a mortal enemy?

As the saying goes, "monkey no fine but im mama like am". It's not just that Tinubu's statements will have alienated many northern delegates who vote he needs, nor even how his dismissive reference to Abiodun as "this one" cast Tinubu as high-handed and arrogant even towards the Yorubas he claims to be championing, it is first and foremost the entitled attitude he revealed by talking about being owed and claiming "it's my turn" that will do him in. Those statements have made it clear he sees his run at the Presidency as being all about him and what he thinks he "deserves", rather than about the needs and wants of the millions of ordinary people Tinubu still needs to convince to vote for him over Atiku.

Whatever temporary emotional satisfaction Tinubu might have gotten from yesterday's outburst, it will be far outweighed by the damage he has done to his campaign and long-term relevance if he fails to quickly rectify the mistake. Even if Tinubu somehow manages to force his way through to primaries and pressures enough wavering northerners to stick with him after rubbishing Buhari, his campaign is likely doomed to failure under the current course. All Atiku will have to do is play this tape over and over to win over the entire north as well as large parts of the SW that have had enough of Tinubu's cavalier arrogance. If Tinubu has any serious advisers, I'm sure they'll already have told him everything I've said above.
This is not been said for the first time. Shettima has been saying this everywhere since. The only difference is that Tinubu is saying it now.
Politics › Re: Court Dismisses Nnamdi Kanu’s Fundamental Rights Suit Against DSS by Indispensable85(m): 6:55pm On Jun 03, 2022
Peterobiisathie:
A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, dismissed the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by leader of the prosrcibed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu against the Department of States Services (DSS).

Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in a judgment, dismissed the suit for lacking in merit and substance.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kanu, through his lawyer, Maxwell Opara, had, in a fundamental rights enforcement suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1585/2021, sued the Director-General (DG) of DSS and the office as 1st and 2nd respondents respectively.

He also joined the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) as 3rd respondent in the suit dated and filed Dec. 13, 2021.

Kanu had alleged that his health was deteriorating in the DSS custody, while also alleging that the medical personnel assigned to attend to him by the DSS were unqualified, among others.

But the DSS, through its counsel, Idowu Awo, disagreed with Opara.

He argued that Kanu’s lawyer had not shown how the doctors attending to his client were doing “quack” work.

He further argued that merely stating that the medical doctors his office assigned to attend to Kanu were quacks did not amount to conflict, adding that Opara had not shown any material evidence to prove that the listed medical practitioners were quacks.

He prayed the court to discountenance the application.

The AGF’s lawyer, Simon Enoch, also corroborated Awo’s submission, praying the court to reject Opara’s application.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Taiwo held that Kanu had not provided sufficient evidence that his fundamental rights were infringed upon by the security outfit “as there is no proof of torture before the court.”

On Kanu’s right to practise his religion, the judge said that while the applicant (Kanu) had the constitutional right to practice his religion in custody, he agreed with the position of the respondent (DSS) that a suspect in custody cannot be allowed to practise his religion in such a way that would disturb the peace of other suspects in custody.

On the allegation that the IPOB leader was receiving inadequate treatments from DSS’ doctors whom he had referred to as quacks, Taiwo said that “the applicants fails to lead evidence by calling a medical practitioner to convince the court that based on the medical report, the treatment giving to Kanu is inadequate.”

Consequently, the judge dismissed the suit for lacking in merit and substance.

Reacting shortly after the ruling, Oprara, in a chat with NAN, said the judgment would be appealed against at the Court of Appeal.

He said the motion he filed praying the court for the DG of DSS and Kanu to give oral evidence in court to ascertain the fact of the matter was rejected by the judge.

NAN reports that Justice Taiwo had, on March 16, dismissed the motion filed by Opara, asking the court to summon the DG of DSS and Kanu to give evidence.

Taiwo, in the ruling, held that fundamental rights cases are special cases (sui generis) which mode of commencement are affidavit evidence as prescribed under Order 2, Rule 2 of the Fundamental Human Right Enforcement Procedure Rules, 2009.

Justice Taiwo said that though there were various modes of commencement of action, including fundamental right cases, he said Kanu (applicant) chose to commence his “under the Fundamental Right Enforcement Procedure Rules that stipulates affidavit evidence.”

He ruled that after carefully perusing all the affidavits of the applicant and the respondents before him, he was of the view that there was no irreconcilable conflicts in the affidavits.

The judge, therefore, declined to grant Kanu’s application and was accordingly dismissed

Indeed. When Buhari said "You can’t sit in Lagos and decide the fate of APC" ,in obvious reference to Tinubu, who carpeted Mr.President for that needless and incendiary barb?

What of when Buni said "We Won’t Allow any ‘strongman’ To Hijack APC", also in obvious reference to Tinubu?

Did Buni get reprimanded for a divisive comment even a child knows is a deliberate attempt to demonise Tinubu, in pursuit of a grand plan, when efforts should always be about unifying and accommodating all members of a Party or simply ejecting troublemakers? Why the style of openly attracting bitterness towards Tinubu?

Has Tinubu and his camp not bore their insults and disrespect for long? Even when Buhari froze Tinubu out, after 2015, Mr.President still requested Tinubu head his 2019 campaign team and Jagaban graciously agreed to then proceed on that mission diligently.

Has the man not truly paid his dues? Did Senator Hanga not reveal Tinubu had been through hell in APC yet the man persevered?

Abeg Tinubu has my support. Nigeria, and what needs to be done to resuscitate her, is bigger than what some individuals want to decree dictatorially.

Many will simply always dedicate themselves to giving a Dog a bad name never mind the number of times that Dog had been kicked and mistreated unfairly.

Politics › Re: 2023: APC Governors Begin Rallying Around Osinbajo by Indispensable85(m): 5:30pm On Jun 03, 2022
joy4news:
Two days after President Muhammadu Buhari indicated a template for his successor in the forthcoming APC Presidential Primaries, Governors of the ruling party are beginning to rally behind the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo who is believed to fit the President’s description.

As of last night, several of the APC Governors have been seen in the Villa meeting with the VP and also the Chief of Staff to the President in what sources say is a move likely to result in a Consensus presidential candidate for the ruling party, Quest Times can authoritatively report.

Governors cited in the Villa include Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Gombe State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya; Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule; and David Umahi of Ebonyi State.

The 22 governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the aegis of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), appear to have agreed on a consensus candidature of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, ahead of the party’s long-awaited presidential primaries on June 6.

The governors who held a series of meetings at the Kebbi State Governors Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja on May 31, after their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, were initially deadlocked on a consensus arrangement.

However, after reconvening, a top source in the know, hinted that the governors have agreed that the Presidency of the party should be zoned to the South and that the candidate should be Prof Osinbajo.

According to an impeccable source in the Villa, the governors failed to reach an agreement on a consensus candidate in their first meeting because different governors were working for different aspirants and they were all pushing for their aspirants to be accepted based on a North-South divide.

Said the source “the heroes of this whole thing are the Governors of Borno, Nasarawa and Gombe who even though are from the North, argued that the VP from the South fits the bill perfectly. Kaduna Governor also of the same view but he has not been seen in the Villa this week. He was represented by his deputy at the meeting with the President on Tuesday.”

The source said that some governors had first insisted that the party’s Presidency should be zoned to the North because the main opposition party had settled for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at their convention.

“It was a very heated argument between the governors. Some governors wanted a Northern candidate to challenge the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate but some other northern governors kicked against it. They said that the it is morally right for power to return to the South.”
