They still have a chance if there is a massive turn out in Ihiala on the 13th and they win it by a wide margin. The gap between Soludo and Ozigbo is around 50,000 votes and there are 148,000 voters registered in Ihiala so there's still technically a chance for PDP if they can win Ihiala by a wide margin.

Leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State have deepened their plans for Governor Simon Lalong to contest the 2023 presidential election.

The leaders, who met on Sunday in Jos to discuss Lalong’s candidature, also discussed the recent political crisis in the state as well the crisis in the state House of Assembly.
In their resolution, they noted that Lalong has been handling all the political crises effectively and that is why they have not degenerated into violence.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders after their meeting, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said the governor is a candidate who can take the nation to a greater height following
his achievements in crisis management and how he has been able to bridge the ethnoreligious gap among the different segments in the state and beyond.

He stressed that the governor has been effectively managing the Northern Governors Forum as its chairman, is impressive, and a lot of citizens across the region and beyond have been appreciating his leadership style.

Zazzaga explained that Lalong possesses the leadership skills to take Nigeria to an enviable height and boost the unity of the country following his antecedents.

He called on the governor to remain resolute and continue to build bridges of understanding among the people of Plateau and beyond so that the ethnoreligious division in the society can be resolved.

According to him, Lalong is a man with people’s interest and concern at heart, and that is why despite the harsh economic reality in the country and the dwindling revenue to the state, the governor has continued payment of salaries, while other state governors could not meet up.

He said their full plan for their support and push for Lalong’s 2023 candidature will be revealed very soon as they are still making wide consultations across the nation.
