texanomaly: oops...until I saw this I didn't realize my mistake. I meant non-fiction. I popped that in at the last minute before people started posting. I should have reread it before hitting "send". I'm surprised no one commented on it before now.Hehe it's okay, Tex. Re-reading it as "only non-fiction" makes even more sense now. LarrySun: You're speaking from a scientist's point of view, I get it. But speaking from the Biblical, God created the birds. There, the chicken came first. I've always thought Science is a justification of God's existence...but your latest theory disputes that fact.Even speaking from theology, what is there to say God didn't create eggs first, and they hatched? Everything the first chickens/birds needed were right there inside the egg. The egg, so to speak, was actually the first "parent" of the bird. |
texanomaly: a caveat...I keep hearing this from some people but I think the exact opposite is the case; especially with fantasy or science-fiction. That genre (soft sci-fi/hard sci-fi/fantasy) is one that immensely increases one's imaginative power. Same goes for mythology (if you classify it as fiction). Another genre that boosts imagination is crime & detection. A third one is mystery. However, romantic fiction (puke face) and most other variants of fiction may even dull your imagination with the surfeit of their quotidian events. EDIT: My bad. Just realized you said "only" fiction. |
texanomaly: He probably lived and traveled a lifetime in books.Hmmm makes sense... |
PastorAIO: "Most men die at 27, we just bury them at 72."- Mark Twain.Apparently Benjamin Franklin is quoted to have said it this way, "Many people die at twenty five and aren't buried until they are seventy five." I wonder who dubbed who ![]() |
PastorAIO: And Those who ask the questions that cannot be answered invent myths - Pastor AIO the degenerateLmao! I'm here laughing like a jacka'ss!! |
texanomaly: I said this on my "did we come to earth to gain a body" thread:"A mind that is not curious or open to any new idea is already dead... it just ain't stinkin' yet." - InesQor |
PastorAIO: Nietzsche is class. It seems as if the guy had x-ray vision for seeing into the true motivations for what people say and do. If you read nietzsche too much you'll find yourself no longer believing anything that anyone says or any ideology whether religious or political.Yes, his brand of philosophy is totally intriguing. He and Kierkegaard fascinate me with their views on existentialism. Reading Nietzsche for me sometimes sounds like he probably second-guesses his own ideas. A healthy inquiring mind. I find it conceivable that he may have studied himself under various circumstances and projected it to the general human experience. Thinking fluently in the third person is a talent, and Nietzsche seems to have nailed it in his day. |

texanomaly: “The irrationality of a thing is not an argument against its existence, rather a condition of it. ~ NietzscheI love this. In context, here is another relevant quote from Nietzsche. The italics are mine. "One hears only those questions for which one is able to find answers". - Friedrich Nietzsche |
TheBigUrban2: It seems that you do not know the meaning of "HYPOCRISY"Stop the theatrics. And stop lying through your teeth, you're too old for this. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsRunKpIMAIvYRI.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsG36y8IYAEM6gt.png Cyanide and Happiness are not "Anti-Christian", neither are they "Atheistic". https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsOmWYJCcAA4a49.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Br5P3pQIYAE7uAL.png Any half-wit with an internet access can visit the wikipedia page or read the comics at Explosm.net to find out they have no particular affiliations. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsIsnQRIMAAJrDb.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Br-Zgw2IgAEW5Rv.png All they do is make fun of anything and everything, and sarcastically too. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsN2PMxIAAAJQIM.png Christianity would naturally fall into their purview once in a while https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BrV81jsIUAAjLat.png As well as a number of other topics that many people may find offensive. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsTv-2ZIUAAgD8u.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Br0GRgOIIAA-9NI.png TheBigUrban2: It is tolerance to accept an atheist group (for a chrsitian)Tolerance vs. Hypocrisy? Delusions? My line of thought is very rational for one who is not myopic and prejudiced but is receptive to ideas. TheBigUrban2: I know your past comments on atheists. Bigot claiming tolerance lolI'm a bigot now? And what past comments on atheists? ![]() I'm done with you, dude. And I mean it this time, however you attempt to throw libel my way. @PastorAIO: My apologies for derailing the thread. |
texanomaly: Hmmm...I quit FB a couple of years ago and I haven't looked back. Best decision, honestly. |
DeepSight: Na wah, the thing just changed like that o, every few times I created a special handle to make posts when banned such as (Deep_Sight, DeepSight and Depardo). However the nuclearbomb that was dropped on nairaland somehow left me with only DeepSight but strangely combined the posts, although all posts from January were lost.Oh, maybe Seun and/or the mods combined usernames (risky business if you ask me, especially if the users were not informed). Fine oh, thanks bro. ![]() |
TheBigUrban2: lol......I know your tactic by now....you attack me whenever I correct you or prove you wrong. It is called Tolerance. Maybe that's something that you're probably not familiar with. One of my colleagues is a hardcore atheist, and an artist by moonlight. It does not stop me from conversing with him or enjoying his work. Why should Cyanide and Happiness be any different from him? I don't find THIS cartoon funny, but does that mean I should reject every single work they produce? How many Hollywood actors and actresses or other people in the entertainment industry do we reject their work just because they do not agree with our religious values ALL THE TIME? Did not Aristotle say 'It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it'? Once again, guy try dey make sense. |
@wiegraf: Thanks for your very well put response. Sadly, I'll pass. |
TheBigUrban2: Doesnt that expression mean that I'm angry/mad?What flipping lies? Guy can you at least try and make sense? How can "I'm glad I got you angry" be an insult rather than trying to evade a confrontation? ![]() Rather than confess that you didn't know the meaning, you're still here claiming trash. |
TheBigUrban2: Another falsehood. You are now lying for Islam? This is new information to me so I cannot sensibly discuss it right now. I will find time to check it out, and - maybe - revert to you. Adios |
TheBigUrban2: Thanks for the insultLOL!!! Insult? Pele, you see, it is a simple English expression. Google it. |
Ishilove: IshiBaby. She has been calling me that since I was littleAwwww |
TheBigUrban2: The bold is a lie. A VERY BIG LIE@TheBigUrban2 Glad to get your goat, then. |
@DeepSight: Oga we no dey see ya brake lights on NL again. Hope you're good. I just noticed your handle has gotten rid of the space in between, ever since the NL reboot. At first I thought it was another account or something. TheBigUrban2: lol...you are only digging yourself in a deeper hole.Post whatever you want naa, I no hol' ya hand. When my twitter was active I used to follow Explosm (C & H) and Bob Kostic (CausticBob) despite their often-times crass, intolerant and insufferable jokes - for the sake of the times their sarcasm was actually really funny to me. I have even posted illustrations from Atheist Websites like atheistcartoons.com right here on NL, so what's your point here? I really should not have wasted my time replying you, as you have proven once again that you cannot be reasoned with. |
Ishilove: My name is Ishi. My momma calls me Ishilove, or Ishibaby. I chose IshiloveIshimama ![]() |
wiegraf: op, most of those countries are not xtian...Hi wiegraf I never said they are Christian countries. One report is about doing good, and the other is about religions (or irreligions) as claimed by residents in nations. I was just comparing two independent sources. Feel free to chuck it up as coincidence, but the links are clearly there, and I have not manipulated the sources. I also never said anything about some - in your words - pissed off Jew or an integalactic cruise. You should know me better, I'm an offbeat Christian and don't share many mainstream Christian thoughts. As far as I am concerned, Christianity has a lot more to do with (a) taking good care of the planet's natural resources, flora and fauna (which is one way you can show that you respect God as you're his regent here on earth) and (b) doing what is right by your fellow man (the second way, which is how you demonstrate you love God). The rest of it involves qualifications of the two. The last paragraph of your riposte does not seem to be relevant to this topic, or maybe I'm the one who's currently slow. It is well known that Islam-inclined nations did a lot more for science in medieval and ancient times than pagan ones, and Christian ones even impeded development. May I remind us that this thread is about comparing TWO separate indices (that have NOTHING to do with one another) and trying to see why those with more people claiming to be Christian, seem to top the list of doing good. Whether or not they are actually flying spaghetti monster devotees - but claimed to be Christian in an independent survey - is an exercise for the reader. |
TheBigUrban2: lol....a christian using cyanide and happiness cartoonBecause I am not narrow-minded in nature, I usually pay more attention to whatever is being said, than to who is saying it. Except when experience shows the person talking usually makes no sense ab initio. I can quote the devil sef (if he so exists and if he actually said something) as long as it is within context. |
PastorAIO: I hadn't heard of this melchizedek Malika Sadhaka connection before so I googled it. I was taken to some sites by a guy called Gene Matlock. To be honest, a lot of his stuff I find wacky. I mean really off the scale wacky, and I'm a guy that is into a lot of wacky stuff but for me it is totally off the richter scale. It seems that the guy just looks for words from different cultures that seem phonetically similar and then jumps to a conclusion based on that.LOL! Thanks. I was reading a Hindi blog and saw that in passing, and thought to ask. I checked now and found Matlock's book "The Open Secret of India, Israel and Mexico¿from Genesis to Revelations!". Oh my, I can't believe what I am seeing! If, until now you are still unconvinced that Melchizedek was Lord Krishna, and that Jesus was an incarnation of Krishna (Melchizedek) as Paul himself explained, I have no other recourse but to give you solid proof directly from the mouths of the Hindus themselves! Will this put an end to the question? It is a verifiable fact that one of the title of Krishna was Sadhaka. Being a king, Krishna would have been addressed as Malika (King) Sadhaka. Am I dreaming or did this author just ask us to go on the "web" to "google" for proof of his claim, and then says THAT is the proof?Choi ![]() |
Peppyluv: Sorry for calling you a blind bat but that's not her real hair. There are so many ways to make a weavon look real. I hope you know hollywood stars wear weavons too and it always look real on them even with their scalp showing. That's the handwork of a good stylist. Thanks for your response. I must say you're certainly not right though. I am a naturally dogged person in my curiosity. By now I have gone as far as communicating with a trustworthy person that knows Sarah Jegede in person, and she confirms that it is her real hair. She's a "Team Natural" as they are called, but she dyes her hair. But we can leave the matter sha. |
Ishilove: No dear, I wasn't upset. I'm just allergic to bullshit.*hugs* |
What do you think? Does the end justify the means, or is an ideology like the "Golden Rule" something to consider living by? |
Ishilove: Yes dear?I was shocked to see this post in my "following" feed. You're not usually like this. The person must have really upset you. |
@Ishilove: Wow |
Grinds my gears when people do this.
