Apply to Memorial University. They don't require GRE, So stop being depressed. BTW most universities in Canada don't require GRE.

I'm presently in MUN though I arrived very late but I was able to meet up with classes and assignments. It's been God.

In my view, this attitude encourages a lackadaisical approach to problem-solving, which is the problem with our country. We like unnecessary shortcuts. This is not to say that people shouldn't pray if it helps them feel better about their application, I am solely stating that prayer will not work as a substitute to putting together an excellent application.

Also, stating that you only get your TRV by prayers/grace is a bit insensitive towards those who prayed and fasted yet didn't get their TRVs. It in a way implies they didn't pray hard enough or they didn't for some reason deserve grace.

My application has been approved today after 20 weeks. I hope this will encourage all TRV hopefuls and to remind you that with God nothing is impossible. If God be for us who can be against us.

Date of Submission (paper): 18th April, 2016
Medical mail: 30th Aug. (after 19 weeks)
Medical done: 31st Aug
Medical passed update: 3rd Sept
Approval mail: 7th Sept (School resumes same day 7th Sept)

It took a week to approve my Visa from the date of medical ( that was God's speed).

I thank God for His grace. God will do it to all of you just as he did for me.

In most cases, it is not the amount of money in the account that gives one Visa but it is grace (God factor). Lots of people have gotten Visa with a balance as low as that of MichV.

Sorry about your delay. But looking at your application from an UNEMOTIONAL and PRACTICAL point of view, 6.1m in your sponsors account was waaaay too small. If you boost up that account to not less than 10m and apply again, you have 99.99% chance of getting your trv.

It has nothing to do with Pgd or masters admission, I got my trv at first attempt with a one year Pgd in a PRIVATE career college. The long wait is annoying but try again.

I fully agree that there's no need to create a dichotomy between PGD/PGC and masters applicants. The average processing time is 15 weeks, which means that it affects everyone in some way. Even if we think PGD/PGC applicants might be affected more, this notion may not be correct because the applicants on the thread are only a small subset of all those who apply to CIC Lagos/Accra.

Your assertion is baseless. I am going for Masters (Thesis-based) in Civil Engineering. With a full funding/scholarship and my application is 17 weeks. I haven't been called for medical yet. Stop saying that it is PGD/PGC that is treated unfairly. There are many masters students that haven't gotten their TRV yet. Most of them are not on nairaland. Please do your research well before you come here to make a baseless claim. Stop complicating issues and put your hope on God. Each person case is different in the eye of the VOs. We should pray for grace. It is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy (Rom 9:16).

That is the spirit. Num 23:19-20 says it all and I join my faith with yours. God has already done it. No Visa Officer can refuse an application that has already been approved by God. Exactly 17 weeks still counting. Delay doesn't mean denial it means God Is perfecting that which concerns me. Thank you Jesus for the approval. Faithful God!

CIC kilode na? My application is 16 weeks now, paper route. No update. I am even going for master in Engineering (research-based) with full funding/scholarship. Haven't been called for medical. Been mailing accra for the past weeks and their response is "your application is in a queue pending processing. You will be notified when decision is made. School is resuming on th 7th Sep and my supervisor is expecting me.

Anyway, God will finish what He started. I believe God. He will not disappoint.

Lmao! No be lie oo. Ppl shud keep their mind off CIC. My guy that applied 16th June got a medical mail today. There is nothing like first-in first-out. Applications are being attended to randomly. Mine is 13 weeks plus. I was even given a full funding but no medical yet. I mailed them and they replied that my application is in a queue pending processing. I am not bothered cos it will end in praise and what will be will be. God who started a good work will be faithful to complete it. We don't have to worry. So let's hope for the best.

Congrats bro! But that affidavit of return that you sworn might be used against you if you don't return to your country after your studies. To me it wasn't necessary for you to do that. My thought though.

I wonder what's happening to applicants going to SASKATCHEWAN. I haven't heard any testimonies from Saskatchewan applicants(be it PhD, MSc, Pgd, pgc, BSc) or ( University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina or Saskatchewan's polytechnic).. Even the people I know that are not on Nairaland and applied to SASKATCHEWAN are yet to hear back.... Did the VO's neglect us or what.

Canadian VOs are unpredictable. But God has the final say in every Visa application. What will be will be.

Send a mail to CIC Accra and also use the case specific enquiry. They will reply you. But be rest assured that your application is in a queue.

Please don't be misled by anyone here. Nobody here is a VO. Stop complicating your application. For me the documents you submitted are very okay. You don't need too many documents to get a visa since you already have a full funding. Your stand a better chance of getting your visa if you believe. Allow it to flow and pray to God. They hardly deny PhD applicants.

I will send a case specific inquiry with most of the documents attached. I had to send through my TOEFL to Waterloo when I applied so I didn't reckon that I will need it as a visa application document. I am not yet tenured here but I have been with academia for 4 years and I have a permanent residency here in SA. Thanks again!

I disagree with you. You can apply for your TRV anywhere in the world provided you have the required documents. A friend of mine applied last year October from outside Nigeria and he got his TRV within 4 weeks.
