I will criticise a man who performs below my expectations and not he, from whom nothing is expected, it makes no odds. They said he was coming to fight corruption but i told people that a mad dog doesn't recognise the owner when it finds a chance to bite. it can only be in Nigeria that people will crown anything to lead because of ethnic differences and when they are led into fire, they turn around for help. buhari is a punishment Nigerians deliberately brought upon themselves and three years is a whole lot of time.

This comment exactly illustrates why I wonder why Nigerian women are crazy about marriage. This is not a marriage but a prison. With as guard an immature man who thinks he can play husband.

If you frustrate a man, he can act like a not grown up child and respond in any possible way without even considering that he might be the cause of the frustration. But if you frustrate a woman...she should just shut up. #losersmentality
I spot some streaks feminism tendencies here. lol

RomanceRe: Equality Myth by inkon(op): 3:43pm On Feb 19, 2016
omega25red:
The two examples you mentioned has nothing to do with feminism or equality for women. Feminism/equality is having the same rights for women as men meaning, if a woman has the same degree as you and applies for the same job she should be offered the same pay they would offer a man; women not being told by men what they are supposed to do with their bodies (circumcisions, wearing hijab, dressing a certain way so some religious zealots don't feel uncomfortable)

It also means treating women with the same respect a man would get in a any situation (if a woman goes to buy a car, the sales man should not expect her to have her husband around to get a good deal on the car)

Voting and holding govt office should not be something historic when a woman takes an office. Men should not be able to touch a woman just because she is dressed "sexy" you can look but don't touch

in the same sense, it should work the other way around; if a woman tries to fight a man she should be treated with equal hostility
if you go to a restaurant, a woman should pick up the check
if you dress in ways other people dont like you should be strong enough to take the criticism
if women feel like they can't get good jobs, then take a menial job and work your way up (this goes for everyone) Sleeping your way to the top will only earn you disrespect
Reasonably clear, but you missed my point, nonetheless.

Your explanation entails of gender equality from literal view. Yes, they deserve all that. Every right thinking person will support that and I do.

My question centered on feminists' interpretation of gender equality, as in their own version of the meaning.

It's obvious that what you defined above have been overly twisted. I can give a whole lot of instances of besetting issues attributed to feminists' right activists.
RomanceEquality Myth by inkon(op): 2:57pm On Feb 19, 2016
I don't understand the meaning of feminists' gender equality especially from the context of marriage.

Can someone please help with a logical explanation.

This morning, I saw a woman slapping her husband in front of Trinity police station, Apapa. And just recently, a woman lawyer was reported to have slain her husband while he was asleep.

Is this feminists' gender equality coming with a hidden intent to turn men into animals or what?

In the killing , why are we not hearing anythoing about it? It is because a man is involved and we are in an African society?
Some women have finally been brainwashed. Things weren't like this until this generation of feminism. In many places, they now cut joysticks anyhow, just at the slightest provocation. As if that is not enough, they have now graduated to outright killing.

Feminism is satanic.

Say no to feminism.

Dorobuccii:
What do women want you ask?
Women want equality. Now I want you to get this right.....There is a difference between equality and order. All children are equal but there's the first child and last child. A better example is in the society, 'every man' may be equal but we have the president and other civil servants.
Equality means that we are entitled to the same basic rights. It means we get same pay for the same work and same treatment.
Gender inequality is very similar to racism.
So if we are calling for an end to racism then we should also be calling for an end to gender discrimination and inequality. I don't understand why that is so difficult for the society to wrap its head around.
Equality you want, equality you have gotten.

In many countries of the world today, women are presidents. In our own Nigeria, we have women ministers, senators, directors of public institutions and all what. The said women get equal pay with men who occupy similar positions. I don't know of any such discrepancy of getting lower pay when you offer the same service.

My question was actually within the context of the home, on the same basis the OP had asked her own. She implied that respect isn't necessary in a home. And that men who ask for it are ego/pride laden.

If there is a failure in a home, the man will be blamed and so it is if a country fails, people blame the president.

I hear you say, the President is equal to everybody. That is another area I disagree with you. But on a second thought, if that is what you mean by equality, I think I have no problem with your opinion.

Be it as it may, my dear, human race is towering beyond the effects of jungle era but what baffles me is why people will ignore facts that stare them in the face by embracing baseless theories.

If you are of voting age, i suppose you are, you are most likely to have participated in placing an aura of great diadem on the president and call him number one citizen. That diadem symbolises task and again, honour.

We are expected, as good citizens, to put ourselves under the abasement of the law as driven by the president who can choose to be a blessing to the people or a curse. In the same manner, "a normal woman" is expected to submit to the principles of the home as driven by the husband.

Why do people stand up to honour the entrance of the president at any given time? Much is given to him, much is expected of him. His feeding, security, medication, accommodation are Paramount. So what is all these equality bruhaha?

If he hurts you, you sue him right? Fine, that is based on principles of human right and not equality.

I have a problem with this equality sermon. People are not equal. The ever wise Almighty didn't make it so. He gives to some people what he will not give to others. Why do we have five fingers given to one hand, yet none looks like the other?

On the gender perspective, it takes a clearer definition. The chemistry of a man is significantly different from that of a woman. They neither share exactly the same physical features nor mental capabilities. The man is rational, the woman is emotional. The man has visual attraction, the woman has contact stimulation and that is compatibility.

Man and woman are like the head and the neck. One cannot survive without the other. The head does the work, but not without the neck supporting it.

The problem in many homes today is that, the neck no longer wants to be seen as a supporter. It wants to become another head on the same body.

I insist on my opinion that any home bound to succeed must have a leader.

Oops!
These people again?

Well, I don't know what to do with a woman that doesn't respect me. If I can't love her, I can't keep her. My love for her is unconditional and so must her submission and respect for me.

You really want know, eh?
Okay! I man craves for respect because if he doesn't get it, at least within the circle of his own home, something in him will die and if that thing dies, it takes God to bring such a man back to his usual self. You wonna know what that thing is? You already called it by its name, "ego".

Ego isn't pride my dear. Ego means sense of self value while pride is when one begins to think that he is better than others.

One needs ego to be a man. Before you question this, first asked me why men grow moustaches and women don't; why men become bald and women don't, then I will know who I'm debating with.

I so much respect people who utilize their believe without polluting the peace others enjoy. A woman who needs a man she can disrespect and still bear his name should pray for it. There is abundance of everything in this world. She will certainly get a dummy I assure you.

Sadly, those feminists who advocate all what, try very hard to maintain happy homes. I know one. At home, she is a sweet wife and mother of two. But outside her home, she is a feminist. She uses other people's husbands as specimen while hers enjoys all the respect a woman can give. But I blame the gullible folks.

I believe I've answered your question. Now let me ask you: what exactly do women want? Are you comfortable with a world where women lead the homes? Forget this equality bulllahit. It can never work that way. One must take instructions from the other. Be sincere in answering my question.

Op, nice move I must say. You have a very good plan at hand. Hopefully, if this view is achieved as stated, it is going to become a very good one. Something that would allure people into liking literature the more.

This are the kind of stuffs that usually interests me. I'm an amateur first person descriptive story teller. But unfortunately, I'm in Abuja. From the look of things, I'm not qualify to become a member. Your modi operandi has automatically disqualifies me.

Anyway Goodluck as you carry out your plan.
Thanks dude.

Abuja?
Oops!
Mmmm...that is far actually.
However, you are not entirely disqualified as you have wrongly presumed.

The picture I've in mind is pretty broad. The factors abating the growth of literature is not peculiar to Nigeria. Their ugly aura is all over Africa and I believe that this is curable if given a right potent dose. It's starting in Nigeria, particular in Lagos. Certainly, this project will spread to all the states in Nigeria and beyond but it is necessary for every tree to have a root.

Kindly understand my decision to insist on launching with those in Lagos. As it is now, this is only an idea which will soon give birth to baby programs. These babies will need care, nurture and attention to get the life they deserve. Distant members will give none of these, except if (s)he chooses to subject to the burden of travelling down to Lagos at every point of need which, in my own opinion, might not be necessary, at least for now.

In future, we'll have states' zones where people in their respective states will easily engage.

You referred to your work as amateur. Really? You probably do not like self appraisal bro. Isn't that the case? If I'm wrong, then do good to work on yourself. Writing is a great gift you know.

Thanks again.
