three members of my family served in SE and they all had terrible experiences.

My neighbour is a Yoruba man. The owner of the next house is a Yoruba man. The biggest provision store in my street is owned by a Yoruba woman and most of the occupants of the building where the store is located are Yoruba. A big percentage of my mom's provision store customers are Hausa.
These ones are just the tribes I know of, I'm sure there are plenty other tribes living here. All these people live peacefully, without any issues. An average Igbo man doesn't care about where you're from as long as you allow him do his business in peace, and you don't try to harm his family.

For your family members to have had terrible experiences in the East means there's a big problem in your family, probably behaviour-wise. Considering the foolish behaviour you've just portrayed on this forum, I think tribalism has eaten deep into your family and the 3 members of your family tried to exhibit it in the East and were quickly put in their place.
You guys need to re-program your entire family before your foolishness lead you to your doom.

I think the attack on Tinubu is mostly because his supporters always attack Peter Obi's supporters and Atiku's supporters.
Check it by yourself, people supporting Tinubu on this platform act more like rabid dogs using ethnicism, name-calling, insults as weapons.

In the few threads concerning Atiku, you'll notice that the few insults you see on those threads are Tinubu's urchins.
They make it seem like it's a Yoruba vs Igbo affair forgetting that there are more than 200 ethnic groups in this country, and that if another idiot is elected as president, all of us will suffer for it.
Tinubu, Atiku are corrupt and we don't need such people to lead this country anymore. The only thing they have against Peter Obi is the Pandora papers but even the Pandora papers didn't indict him of any crime but only said he has offshore account. Same Pandora papers indicted Tinubu of siphoning Nigeria's funds using Alpha Beta as a conduit.

The funny part is that, while the Igbos and Yorubas are on each others necks, the northerners are quietly scheming and this shows you how foolish these two major tribes are

If we really want things to get better for you and I, it's up to us to educate the less-knowledgeable ones so they'll know selling their future for crumbs will lead to regret for them.
For example, if you're in a polling booth and a party representative is trying to use monetary inducements on people, you can explain to people the dangers of doing that.
Some people will accept, some won't but you've played your part. That's the way forward.
