Religion / Re: I Am More Concerned About Africa Than The Salvation Of My Soul. by Inova(m): 12:49pm On Feb 09, 2013
musKeeto: I remember reading a comment on Nl concerning a scientific breakthrough earlier this year.. One poster commented ' the whites have the physical, africans keep your spiritual so when they need it they'll find you...

Lol.

Tbh, the Bible promotes hardwork and in a way (I'll be quite cautious here, cos I realise that it's all about what meaning you choose to strap on to any verse) condemns laziness in all its ramifications. Even atheists and other religious adherents would find the Book of Proverbs quite amusing and interesting...

Is the real problem with the African man? I assume most of the posters here are atheists and truth seekers.
I'm quite aware that religion, especially within our environment has propagated lots of falsehood and caged a lot of our brothers, making them feel relaxed and quite proud of their ignorance. All I ask is that we look at these from all angles. Yes, we may see the imprints of religion (slavery etc), but is the real issue with us? Have we tried so hard to fit into a system that wasn't built for us? Where does the problem lie? Why is the current leader of the largest black nation a retard? We weren't the only ones to be used as slaves, were we? Why have other cultures moved on, while we remain stuck in mediocrity?

If we say atheism's the solution, I ask how?

Do we really trust the almajiris to troop into schools if they're presented with proof that Allah's just a figment of their imagination?

What separates El-rufai from the common almajiri?

What separates Kukah from Oritsejafor?

For Africans to begin to be inqusitive and daring, rather than remain superstitious and fearful of the unknown/mysterious, do we really have to dump all notions of spirituality?

You asked the question. It will be nice if you can give us your answer/opinion before you get responses on this.

Siena:

Dude, I've been in the automotive for more years than you think, and worked within the VAG dealer network for 18 years.

I'm also aware some cars can be registered late. The Audi A4 2007 will be a B7 platform. It's a mainstream model, so not likely to remain unsold for 6 years. The last Audi A4 B7 bodyshell was sold in October 2009, and is no longer available, not as a shell or complete car. We both know you were not referring to a late registered older model. You made a mistake with that comment, but are just too proud to admit that fact.

You can't purchase a brand new Audi A4 B7, regardless of where you look. The last B7 was completed in October 2008, and registered in April 2009, a Dolphin Grey 2,0 TDI S-Line. There are no more left unregistered.

If you're talking about knowledge, then I'm afraid you're blowing in the wind. You claim to be an Automobile Journalist, and you want to pit your knowledge of the automobile against mine? I'm a fully qualified Automobile Engineer. I deal in fact, Journalists deal in opinion. Fact and opinion are very different.

Some interiors can get rough over a short time agreed, but this is mostly in the lower, non-premium brands. The interior of a 2008 BMW E87 will be tight long after the same in a Kia or Hyundai has rattled its last bolt free. I run a garage, and have an added advantage of seeing what goes through my doors. I've also worked for Westdrive Kia, which is a Hyundai-Kia dealership.
@Sienna. 10,000 respect for you baba. When you speak it exudes experience. Good one

Business / Great Opportunities In REPUBLIC OF GUINEA by Inova(m): 8:13pm On Jan 26, 2013
A PEEP INTO THE GUINEAN ECONOMY
The Guienean economy is largely an informal setting with 80% of the business volumes in the hands of the private while government is believed to be in control of the remaining 20%. This greatly accounts for the government’s inability to determine the volume of cash in circulation at any point in time. The bulk of the 80% business activities are concentrated in the popular Madina Market which is the convergence of neighbouring African countries for trade and commerce given the size of the market. At some quarters, it is often speculated that the Madina Market is the authentic Central Bank of Guinea. Reason, as jokingly put, the market also supplies the appex bank its local and foreign currency needs. As vague as this theory may appear, but some elements of truths exist especially as seen in the wake of the post-election crisis that marred the declaration of the winner of the much pro-longed presidential election as announced by the nationa’s electoral body.
The market controlled by the Foullahs deliberately shut down on the orders of their leaders in support of their main candidate who lost the bid to clinch the presidential seat. The impact of this was that the appex bank could not mussle cash to meet the demand by banks, this created hardships in the economy while inflation rate rose. The appex bank Governor has explained at various fora that the government is doing everything possible to contain its deficit budget while also controlling the inflation gap.
The country is blessed with avalanche of mineral resources – bauxite (No 1 producer in the world), gold, diamond, iron ore, aluminium etc. This accounts for the large presence of mining giants in the country but whether the revenue accruable to the government from the mining activities get to its coffers and used for the economic development of the country is different issue. The country is also blessed with tourism sites which can make the country a tourist delight with huge foreign currency potentials if properly developed. They have a seaport which is very busy with maritime activities. The seaport plays a significant role to the mining companies operating in the country and also serves as a major revenue soruce for the economy.

The productive /manufacturing sector is low as the country is a major importer of several goods ranging from consumer goods to industrial goods. Hence, productive capacity is largely import dependent. Little wonder why un-employment rate is high in the country. There is so much to be done here to stimulate the economic growth especially in the area of infrastructural development. The country also has good potential in agricultural sector (agro-allied business) given the fertile lands at some parts of the country. If more resources are channeled to these areas, the country can be a major exporter of foods which will boost its foreign currency needs while also strengthening the value of its currency. ________________________________________

BANKS IN GUINEA
As a country colonized by the French, it follows therefore that French banks dominate the economy not because of their efficiency or services, but the direct effect of the colonalization. Presently, 12 banks operate in the country, 11 of which are foreign owned while one - BADAM (African Bank for Agricultural Development and Mining) is the only indigenous bank to date. Of the foreign banks, SGBG being the oldest is the dominant bank followed by BICIGUI – another French bank. These two banks control over 50% of businesses in the economy. Ecobank is clearly No. 3 given its geographical spread across African countries and large branch network in each country they are present. The strength of Ecobank as a popular regional player includes the fact that a customer of Ecobank in one African country can have access to his/her account in another African country without hitches. Two Nigerian banks made their presence in Guinea in year 2010 – UBA Guinea and Skye Bank Guinea. While UBA started with two branches, Skye Bank started with one branch. These two banks have introduced Anglophone banking practice into the market and thus increased competition with customers now having choices. It is expected that in the medium to long term, these two banks would make their impact felt in the market even as more Nigerian Banks are itching to penetrate the market.

Car Talk / Re: Advice On First Car To Buy by Inova(m): 6:36am On Jan 18, 2013
Gurl friend. Avoid Honda like a plague. Aside the aesthetic features and fuel economy, but check out this Honda Problems first before you consider:
1) No one said how bad honda makes ball joints on the wheels. If u don't maintain ur hondas wheels very well they might just pop out while drive embarassing the heck out of you. I'm sure u have seen a couple of Hondas with the wheels giving way on the road.
2) Honda Power steering are fantastic. Actually the best I've seen so far. But as fantastic as they are, they are very easily damaged. Power steering will be one of ur major probs
3) Honda transmission for anyone buying Auto are the worst I've seen. Couple with the fact that their replacement are also expensive as its and aluminium transmision block. Don't expect ur transmision to last. If you wanna buy honda just go for its manual transmision version to avoid embarasment.
4) Overheating is not much of a problem as it can happen to any car actually but I just don't undrstand the perculiarity with Honda

Aside all this points Honda is ok if you are ready to stomach all those issues higlighted. And trust me gurlfriend I speak the truth.

But If you want my advise. Just go for a TOYOTA product and you'll neva regret it. Most of my friend and in particular me sef switched to Toyota after enduring with Honda products

I hope this helps

Xyzee: Hello house,

I'm a very regular poster in this section but am so worried.

I started looking for job since January and it appears God is about to give me one in a good bank when after all the interviews I was called for medicals.

During Medicals, my BP rose to 155/81 and the doctor rechecked, this time even rising higher to 150/100. I did some other blood, urine, HIV and general body tests. Can I be disqualified because of this high blood pressure?

Moderator, please help me to the front page. Thank you.
Guy honestly I will just tell you to calm down. When I read your post, it immediately reminded me of the exact carbon copy of the same experience which I also had. Wen I was called foe medicals by the bank I was told my BP was high and immediately began to panic. But at last I was granted my offer letter. This is my 5th year there. Don't let it bother you. Its just for their records and not as a means to disqualify you. However try and get medical assistance to get dat BP down bro.

Mr_Anony:
Actually you are mistaken here, the prophecies you cited do not refer to the messiah but to the last days. See Isaiah 2:2-4 and Micah 4:1-4

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

-Isaiah 2:2-4 (KJV)

1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.

-Micah 4:1-4 (KJV)
And what difference does it make.
Where did you think the bible was extracted from. Or did you think it was originally written in English?
Besides was it ever written that he was coming to die for our SINS. Please do not refer to The new Testament as it was not in existence then.
If you agree with me then you will also agree that he could still come back for a different agenda aside that which the Bible professes

Mr_Anony: I can't see what you are pointing at. Kindly show me exactly how I am contradicting myself.
My love for Christ does not depend of the color of His skin.

This I support 100% without prejudice
However your second quote:
Secondly, Jesus Christ will never come in a way that contradicts how the bible predicted that He would.
is what I am faulting. Here's my explanation:

According to the Jews before the birth of Jesus Christ, it was stated that if he had indeed been the Messiah, he would have fulfilled the Messianic prophecies mentioned in Tanakh. The Tanakh is a name used in Judaism for the Hebrew Bible.
Examples of the Messianic prophecies were:
To bring about universal peace and tranquility: "And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation; neither shall they learn war any more".
To bring about universal respect for God, and lead all people to follow His ways: "The knowledge of God will fill the earth. The world will be filled with the knowledge of God as the water covers the sea".

The clear-cut fact is that Jesus Christ did not fulfill any of these tasks which disappointed them. Hence why he wasn't believed to be the messiah.

You are already repeating history with your quote:
Secondly, Jesus Christ will never come in a way that contradicts how the bible predicted that He would.

Hence your contradiction

Religion / Our Existence: The Script Perfectly Played Out Or A Big Fraud? by Inova(m): 10:52am On Dec 05, 2012
Has Man always been destined to sin? It seems it has always been part of a carefully scripted play.
1) God is Omnipotent (knows everything), hence he had always known that Jesus Christ (his Son) would die for our sins at a particular date (which he already knows too)

2) God had also know that Adam and Eve would sin because this was needed in order for the "Jesus saving man" side of the script to work out.

3) So when he called : "Adam where hath thou" he already knew what was going on but decided to play along anyway.

4) Man was so dumb to play the script well so he created Woman (an improved version of man) who was a better actress.

5) Fortunately the script which was expected to end by the death of Jesus has been extended with his second comming.

6)Its quite interesting that this epic drama has not been extended to our generation with Physical sightings of angels and an upgraded version of the bible depicting our current civilization.

Hmmm I'm smelling fraud here oh
