Religion / Re: Private Jet Is A Necessity And Not A Luxury - Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor by Inova(m): 10:46pm On Nov 25, 2012
It is very expensive to maintain a private jet ova hia. Considering all the FAA
rules on rebuilding engines every so many
hours whether they need it or not and a
pilot is gonna cost you in excess of
$100,000.00 per year and then you have
the hangar charges which are like
$3,000.00 a month , and then jet fuel
which is now @$3.79 a gallon as of
yesterday and then the insurance is
expensive. Who will bear the cost of maintenance.
Ayo Oritshe J! Your thinking is too selfish and myopic. Just tell your friends to fix the roads. And let's all enjoy dis country.

They already do all that. Its just that we like talking without researching. The Church in question(Pastor Ayo's) has a Micro-finance bank and it helps lots of entrepreneurs with loans for businesses. I am not a fan of extravagance, and neither do I like the excesses of many churches but common sense would tell you that people wopuld not keep going to these churches in numbers if they are being fleeced without benefit.
Then why did I and a hoard of others stop if it was benefiting me. We opened my eyes. Open yours my brother

When you go through a church you see lots of big cars, chubby looking fellows and well dress folks. You hardly see poverty, I can tell you that for sure.
So to you that's your definition of prosperity abi. You are void of reasoning my friend. Define vanity? Big cars, chubby looking fellows and well dressed folks. This is not christianity. Your example is the reason why people will go to any length to be like you've just defined. Nigeria is just worsening with the introduction of this bullshit concept in churches.
Poverty makes churches preach prosperity. When evryone is ok nko? They will start preaching how to keep ur prosperity or How to find more prosperity from GOd

Politics / Re: Jail Is Too Good For Nigerian Pastors by Inova(m): 6:35am On Nov 23, 2012
masotemi:

Thanks for your write up on the above topic. I just want to make the following input:
* So many members of these churches are not illiterates and neither are they bereft of logical reasoning as some bloggers assume most often in their comments and contributions to issues concerning the church
Let me assure you that they are bereft of logical reasoning. An example is you already with the way you are thinking. Well unless you want to claim to be an Illiterate.
masotemi:
* Erudite academicians, accomplished lawyers and reputable business personality and enterpreneurs who are rational decision makers form a large nucleus of members of these churches and have a right on how their resources are deployed
Financial starvation is not the only problem of man. Do you think every accomplished persons are happy? They probably have some past evil deeds that needs retribution for God via a man that offers a means of short cut. An example is the case of
Akingbola, Cecilia, Atuche and the list goes on. Infact I forgot to add Ibori
masotemi:
* Let me quickly add that not all members of these churches are politicians or government or private sector employees that acquire their wealth through dubious/corrupt means
Kindly give me an example of someone. I work in a bank and I can still admit that according to the tenets of the bible my money is not clean because the banking environment is so corrupt.... Need I say more
masotemi:
* If an individual can own a private/personal car rather than using publicly provided means of transportation, what is the difference in owning a private jet?
The cost. Besides buying expensive Jet fuel, parking the jet alone is costly. So flying or not, u'll still be incuring cost. Hope you have now been enlightened
masotemi:
* Most often we misdirect our energies to churches and leave out government/agencies that are primarily responsible for our well being.
The church was created and meant to abide by divine laws dat I'm sorry are no longer been followed. That why energy is directed there. Gerrit. Save souls not get money and live large.
masotemi:
* How many of the good deeds and charitable works of these churches are given prominence in our newspapers, rather we have to "mobilize" reporters to feature such events in their newspapers!
Becos there is none. Its not their priority. Kindly name one charity work done by any of these jet flying pastors that still doesn't translate to extortion
masotemi:
* Lagos/Ibadan expressway would have remained a forest/den of armed robbers if the churches had not taken the initiatives to open up the area! Punch Newspapers would have taken their Head Office elsewhere not this same axis that was opened up by religious organisations that ventured to "invest members" money in putting up infrastructures in this neglected area !
And whoever told you the place was neglected. Religious organisation brought chaos to that road my friend. Try traveling when their progs are going on you'll know what I'm talking about. They shouldn't have gone there in the first place. Nothing changed for the better. Its just got worse
masotemi:
Just my thoughts.
Its allowed. Hope my answers are ok for you. Pele

Car Talk / Re: Why Do Driving Schools Use Volkswagen Beetle To Teach Driving? by Inova(m): 8:34pm On Nov 20, 2012
This is fairly easy to resolve. Where is the engine of a VW beetle? Its at the rear. Hence in the event of a frontal collision (all thanks to the dumb learner), the damage would be minimal as it will not affect the engine. Shikenna

Not by the constitution but by an act.

The bill to rename the University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University Lagos has been forwarded to the National Assembly along with two other universities to be renamed.

We wait for them to decide one way or another.

Until then, it remains the University of Lagos.

It could be there forever though.

This goes to show you how unintelligent the people ruling us are. Is renaming a university the country's priority now. Hmmmmm

eldoradoxx: In official qarts, Govt now addresses the school as MUALAG, lol, Minister of Edu has since stopped calling it UNILag . The thing is that it is only national assembly that can stop this by refusing to pass the amendment into law, once it is passed, then legally, UNIlag's name changes and it would be illegal to address it as Unilag

Abeg the Minister of education should go and sleep jor. Butt licker. Rather than advice his boss of his fatal goof
Education / Re: Has UNILAG Succeeded In Crushing The MAULAG Name Finally? by Inova(m): 9:28pm On Nov 19, 2012
eldoradoxx: Court has no power to stop enactment of law. Unilag would ve succeeded if GEJ had not taken the right step of submitting a bill for the renaming of the school before National Assembly. Since has has done that, he has taken the legal procedure. Meanwhile stranger can't get an injunction restraining you from renaming your child, or can you? People seem to ve forgotten that Unilag is Fed govt property, lol . Why is it only Unilag that is complaining or Abiola doesn't deserve that honor? About 3 other Universities were also renamed within that period!

Let's not peddle mediocrity. As an analogy, It should be agreed that every successive government should be regarded as a
step-father to the federal universities. Now using this analogy can your step father change your name abruptly?
Abiola should be honored where he made immense impact like sports; avaition. Though he tried in the educational sector but his passion was in sports.
Obafemi Awolowo's passion was in education. GEJ was on some cheap 1225 when he was making the announcement

The James Bond franchise has finally lost it. Can you imagine me dosing off while watching SKYFALL.
Gone were the days of fancy gadgets like pen bomb, laser wrist watch, fancy phones and mostly the special cars. The special quote of Late Q "007 please bring them back in pristine order".
This has all been replaced by violence upon violence. Full action with less romance known for the James Bond franchise.
It was even mentioned in the movie that fancy gadgets were so old school while providing Bond only with a Walter PPKS pistol and a radio beacon *** yuk***
I swear I'm not watching any Bond movie again

Its religous mentality And poverty mentality. Either it's plane or chopper, it's only a vehicle. . A minister should used what is needed for his work like everyone else. is there a pastoral vehicle ? Volkswagen or 404? It depends on what God calls an individual for. Those who ministernamong peasant may have to live like peasant to reach them. Some are called to reach the nobles. The riverine village preacher may need a canoe not a car. The international evangelist or preacher may need a chopper or plane. Chopper is made for man not monkeys. You don't criticize another man. It's between him and his God.

I really don't have the luxury of posting a comment but I enjoy reading them. I have come to observe that most of ur contributions are ALWAYS RETARDED. Do you have difficulty understanding the Bible or do u run your own christianity based on your personal judgment? GOD. Help this dude.

Religion / Re: Dealing With Depression & Suicidal Thoughts As An Atheist. logicboy Confesses. by Inova(m): 12:45pm On Oct 25, 2012
CrazyMan:
Spirit exist...they reside in the fourth dimension, which is the spirit world and we can't see into that world unless there is a portal or the veil between worlds is thin...

All dimensions have a different vibration, we are surrounded by dimensions we cannot see, but sometimes we do get a glimpse into their world and sometimes they get a glimpse into our world.

Below is how I got a glimpse of a spirit...that was some years back.

I woke up in the middle of the night to ease myself, as I got into the toilet, I noticed a strange sound coming from the compound that shared the same fence with us.

Upon further gaze, I saw a white short creature, about 3 feet tall coming out from the banana tree an heading for the bush...it was making a very strange sound.

I was dazed at first but I kept quiet and continued looking. After about 30 seconds, the weird creature disappeared into the bush and I returned back to my room.

I found it very difficult sleeping that night because I was scared of having nightmares.

Later, I came to understand that what I actually saw that day was a spirit/ghost/demon...

I doubt if you (logicboy) has spent up to 6 months in your village that's why you remain adamant on your stand.

On a very good day whenever you visit Nigeria, take a stroll to a shrine in the wee hours of the morning and I'm sure that your life would never remain the same again.

Spirit exist and don't deceive yourself that they don't...I would share another experience with you.

When I was much younger I accompanied my grand mum into a herbalist house.

When we got there, after the usual greetings and exchanging of pleasantries...my grand mum stated her reason for being there, the diba (Igbo meaning for a herbalist) began reciting some incantations.

As the incantations went on, I felt a kind of unusual presence, it was as if there was someone with us in that shrine...my confusion and questions were silenced because not long after that awful feeling, the earthen pot in the shrine began to speak to us.

This is not an issue of proof or scientific explanation. I was there personally and I saw it with my own eyes.

I've had so many other similar encounters, that time won't permit me to share them here.

So if you actually need a valid proof as to whether or not spirit exists, just do what I suggested, and you'll find the answers you're looking for...

Don't know why these Spirits don't like welling in developed areas

One other thing I would bring to your concern is that what you learnt in ur traing school is totally diferent from what you will work with in the real world oracle enviroment. For example. Our oracle is installed on an HP SuperDome server running HP-UX a unix server runing similar but unique unix commands. You will discover there mite be no need for RMAN since HP-UX has the capability to take snapshots (ie save the systems state as it was). Most banks recruiting staff know u might not hv the opportunity to hv d knowledge of these servers. What they actually want to see is if you have the competence and intelligence,to be trainable. My bank has sponsored me on countless trainings home and abroad. I would be very hapy to hia wen u get ur first big JOB

I am an Oracle DBA majored in database security and audit. Yes you can get a job at least I did and a host of others. I work in a bank and I can tell you dat all banks in Nigeria use oracle as their back-end DB. I've been a dba for like 6 years now. I will share my experience with you. When I finished my training I started up as a lecturer where I hapened to have inspired one of my students who went and told his boss at the bank where he worked dat I could be very useful in their dept as they had a big challenge auditing d banks Oracle db. I was just called for a chat and they were impressed. The rest is history. Wish you good luck

As a beginner u have to first brush up ur skills(u'll need it for the interview). Start by being a resouce person (ie lecturer). Dat will definitly get u noticed if ur good. I lectured for 2yrs.
