                       SANITY MOVEMENT.

REASONS: Are you aware that only 2.26% of your annual budget is dedicated to education. Hence you are subjected to inferior education which does not and will never equip you for application?
Are you aware that facebook was designed and implemented by students like us because their education is taken seriously by those in authority? How long are we going to keep spending our time on facebook and the internet without demanding our education improve so we can do such things.
Are you aware that almost all government officials in this country has their children schooling abroad because of the huge amount of money they pay themselves. These children will come back with superior education only to rule you because their parents have made sure our universities are useless?
These public office holders ensure that the children of the average Nigerian namely the police, trader, civil servant, teacher, armed forces and the poor are subjected to inferior education so that their kids will come back and be employed in big companies while you are at their mercy. Of course that’s if their children do not join the government and subject your children to what their parents subjected you to!
Do you know how much these men earn? Do you hear how much is mentioned everyday in the media while is your education so poor? Cant you see what we are seeing?
Are you aware that this strike is not just for the lecturers but is a battle for your future?
Do you know the power in your hands with tools like facebook, twitter and other internet tools we can use?
Are you aware that except we peacefully rise and intelligently use all resources we have your children will blame you for this nation?
Do you know that there is virtually no functioning lab in public universities in this country while the men who make millions of naira a month by doing nothing but hold offices send their kids abroad and to public universities?
Are you aware that the reason your labs are not functioning, the reason you are above 100 in your class is because the generation before us kept silent? Friend, are you going to do the same to generations coming after you?

WHO ARE WE?
WE ARE YOU! You have spent time discussing in your rooms angry about what is happening in this country. You have spent time angry with the direction the education is going. We have been doing the same but now we have decided to DO something. We are not political in anyway. We are not affiliated to anybody whosoever. We are the voice crying in the wilderness…STAND FOR YOUR DESTINY. We do not welcome profiteers or politicians, they should stay away. We welcome sincere students and those hungry for a change. The only criteria for insanity to go on is for the sane to keep quiet. YOU ARE THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
You will use facebook and e-mail to mobilize all your friends across Nigerian universities. You are that leader that will wake all your beloved ones up to face the truth that unless we speak sincerely our future and that of generations unborn will be jeopardized. If you send this message to all your face-book and e-mail friends and they send it to their friends we will mobilize 20,000 students in the next 13 days.
You will tell them that we will peacefully and maturely do all we will do because our strength is in our peaceful ways. Remember Martin Luther said that the most powerful method of achieving change is by PEACEFULLY resisting insanity. Ghandi of India said that in aggression the bad win but in peacefully protest the good will surly overcome.
We TOTALLY REJECT violence or aggression of any kind.
We need students who can have webcams, computers, multimedia cellphones to volunteer for this noble task. Are you hearing the call of action in your heart? We have answered, why not do the same.
When we have finished mobilizing, at a date that will be convenient for you we will gather in various locations in white and black attires or overall white attire carrying our message for the world to see.
We will send e-mails to media houses including CNN to make them aware of what is having.
Our fellow students who have webcams and other facilities will cover all the demonstrations and send them online instantly. Those who can print banners will do that, those who can write on cardboard papers will do that. Friend you will receive more information as the time approaches
OUR STAND.
Peaceful demonstration for our education sector to improve, a demand that our public office holders tell us why their children are in universities abroad. When the time comes we will press for a ban on government officials sending their children to foreign and private universities. We will continue doing this either throughout a week, a month or as regularly as is convenient for you until our education is improved.
We know that everything is an issue of cause and effect. This strike is just the effect, we will tackle the cause which is our selfish rulers not leaders after which we will face ASUU and the other effects. Everyday youths like you are blamed for every vice like yahoo-yahoo and kidnapping but in reality what is the cause of all these. we do not encourage these but we know that if you give an average youth quality education and the knowledge needed to survive and be employable, companies will employ such a one and he or she wont have time for such evils.

We will e-mail all security agencies to make sure they are aware that we STAND FOR PEACEFUL actions. You will write media organization, Nigeria bar associations and every organization we need to success. You will write to your bishops, priests, pastors, imams because we acknowledge that GOD IS  WITH YOU in this noble mission.
This is about you, stand for your future, speak for your children yet unborn, act for generations unborn so that your children will not blame you. So that your children will not blame you. Save your future. Remember the song we quoted at the beginning of this message. We know you are not happy but the question is talking and being angry wont solve the problem, you have to act and the time is NOW!

I have been going through all the posts carefully and I am happy I am not the only Nigerian who believes we will do exactly what we have set out to do.

1. to my northern brother addressing the biafran optimist, some people never forget about the past not because they gain anything from it but because they refuse to move forward. we aim for a nigeria that is blind to tribes but is united on the basis of one nation. when the time comes we will address tribalism and put such people where they belong because they are more destructive to this mission than the corrupt people we want to sack. whether hausa, igbo or yoruba or the other tribes, we will handle tribalism and put an end to it. Anybody cannot hide under the cloak of a war my grandfather fought to further plunge this nation into the abyss. The corruption we are facing is it limited to one tribe
in the east was it not people like Chimaroke Nnamani that looted states and siphoned money into their personal accounts, in the north was it not people like Yerima that destroy their states, in the west was it not Adedibu and his cohorts of evil that ran oyo into the slums, in the south south was it not Odili and people like Alams that wreck financial havock.

I would want us all to see that tribalism is more dangerous to this nation than anything else because people will perpertrate evil and run to the umbrella of tribalism for cover. if i had the power to ban posts in this thread i will quickly remove any ethnocentric individual just as i will not hesistate (when we swing into real action) to remove anybody who displays this tribalistic nature. I want to address this issue straight ahead and say anybody who habours tribal sentiments should see himself as an illiterate.

Secondly on the issue of the failure of groups because everybody wants to be the leader, i would say that this revolution will be directed by people not an individual we will not have politics destroy this movement. A group of people, a decentralized council will direct this REVOLUTION. i may have atarted this thread but I do not have an interest in being in that council or group. This is about the future of our children, the generation before us handed us a destroyed nation are we going to hand over the same to our children. I have determined not to whatever the cost, YOU can also determine to do same.

the yahoogroupmail has been created, someone else can create the media connection, i emphasize on this media angle because our message has to get out for the impact to be felt.

4. Someone who can create a website should do so (I wish i could) from where we can have a network like geting mass e-mails of nigerians for mass messaging.

At 25 i am a successful young man (not yet millionaire but about to), masters and doing my ph.d with business running too, i am a virgin not because i am sick but even after all the natural drive to sleep with a girl my religious conviction holds me back.
