PoliticsRe: Documentary On Poverty And Corruption In Nigeria by inquisitiv: 3:23pm On Apr 14, 2013
@sincereNigerian....this is the kind of opinion that forces me to comment on NL. Thanks for not letting ur mind be ruled by JUST emotions. PDP, GEJ, ACN, TINUBU are not the problem with Nigeria. The problem with nigeria is the structure and most importantly the PEOPLE cos these rulers don't drop from jupiter. They come from within us. QED.

A time comes when every son must emerge from the shadows of his father and be his own man. GEJ understands this. Nice moves.

The way this northern guys are going about the whole 2015 smacks of desperation and its dangerous that hardly can they make one sentence without mentioning Allah or Islam. Shows you the natural bigotry of the average northern. We are waiting for you, ur only saving grace will be if GEJ disappoints beyond measure. If he at least makes reasonable stride....then good news, HE WILL WIN and u can go ahead throwing knockouts thru boko haram and we will send the army to clean up after your mess.

musKeeto: How were Africans backward? Please explain.. before I even attempt to reply to the rest of the drivel you posted up there...
You wanna know? Pick up a history book. We are so held down by beliefs and this we have carried into churches. We have a culture that doesn't ask questions. My annoyance is that these youth wouldn't mind someone that will steal their future as long as he upholds wateva rubbish they call tradition.

And before, you defend african gods and attack christianity. I still have beef with people who uphold every tradition of their damn churches and mosques without asking questions about our development. Our attachment to anything called belief, culture, tradition, gods, faith is sickening.

Tell those youths to go chase a government official and they won't as long as he settles them. U can now go into ' the drivel I posted up dere'.
CultureRe: Youths Chase-Away King For Shunning Traditional Festival by inquisitiv: 10:03am On Nov 06, 2012
The gods and traditions of Africa kept us in our wallowing and backward state when other cultures were developing and some ppl r here talking culture.
and it is this stupidity we have transferred to churches where we can't question things.

Hence, our inability to get rid of wat needs to go. Those cowardly youths should pursue local government officials who are stealing their future dry than attack a man who has the moral convictions to stand for wat he believes in, even if don't agree with him.

And for those saying, if u can't do the rituals then don't be king. Rubbish! So if u embezzle public funds then don't be a governor.

Misguided youths fighting for the wrong reason. Meanwhile this is palace politics. Someone else wants to be king. They should have tried to hurt him and they will know wat the inside of nigerian prisons look like. Nonsense.

natude1: First and foremost, I want to encourage you to be focus and never allow this present situation to weigh you down. Your mum needs your assistance now than ever.

However, as a fellow engineer with experience, I don't want to believe that a civil engineer should be looking for job with d levels of problems in d country e.g housing shortage, flooding in different part of d country, bad roads etc. I want you to look inward to your problem, because the solution to your problem is simple. I will start by asking d following qtns:

1. What options did you specialise? Is it structural, highway, geotechnical etc? Can you interprete drawings? Can you analyse a structure etc?

2. Which city are u located? Because the perfect city for you right now is where opportunities are located. For example, flood location in several part of d country, major cities like abuja, lagos n other major cities where there is housing shortage. This is d basis of your profession, move closer to opportunities, and stop writing test up and down.

3. What major software can you utilise? E.g autocad, staadpro etc.

4. You can utilise the power of internet to your advantage and market your skills and experience because the world is a global village. So drop ur email address and for opportunity to solve problem, not only encouragement. You don't knw who might be reading your trend.

As an engineer, we are nature builders, drop an engineer in a village and see it transformed into a city. So, are you sure that you are one of us. If Yes, then bubble up for d challenge ahead, you are supposed to be job creator and not otherwise.

Finally, for me to continue with you, I will need your email address.

Pls, can you drop it here.
10000 likes.

This is the best comment I have read here. U can sit down and blame everything and anything for your problems or you can take responsibility.

drop an engineer in a village and watch him transform the village into a town. This is a bomb.

And those who are seeing every obstacle to him starting his own construction firm are nothing but quitters and failures who do not hold themselves responsible for their lives.

Except you didn't get that 2.1 result with your head, u hv no reason to not know what to do. Nevertheless I believ down inside you, you want to be a musician.

I'm proudly a young hustling engineer providing solutions in the construction, electrical and software industries.

Your life is your creation.

kooto: I think it can be done in less than 3yrs or at most 5yrs, eg.they travel from lagos to kano get to kano the next day, offloading takes place while the driver rests, the third day loaded and he starts his/her journey back to lagos, gets to lagos the fouth day [this also depends on how many places he/she decides to stop and how quick he was loaded/ how quick he/she is] in my former company our drivers do lagos kano in 4days, I believe it can be done in 5yrs which to me is a good deal of owing the truck after 5yrs that you can now give it out to someone to drive for you, besides 300k is good money in a month.
He is not giving you any freaking 300000 naira per month. Read a simple passage. Oh my fck. See Nigerian graduates!

Is the press not controlled by yorubas, that why 6 GM were all frm the south west and nobody talked. While I don't condone any tribal issues but the aviation minister is merely getting competent hands to handle what needs to be done.

Its no secret for those of us who hv dealt with this aviation sector that the most competent hands are frm the east. Yorubas just use the Lagos press to bambooze everybdy and think it will work. Bunch of hypocrites! The whole place was stained with yorubas and nobody talked.

A different thought on the Aluu4. Why didn't these four healthy young men put up a fight, fight back to back and get some casualties on the other side. Simply cos they were innocent and didn't believe it would end in their end. But this is a lesson to us, sometimes its better to fight, don't stay there begging and praying cos it might be late.

Imagine if they had fought, that mob had no gun just planks, imagine if they had wrestled that plank away from that savage and knocked it on the left side of his neck. Imagine if they had grabbed one of them mob and bitten off his ear. At least they would have gained themselves some time and since our useless police were there, everybody would hv been arrested alive.

Nigerians should learn to fight and be willing to die fighting. Its better than dying helplessly just like we are watching our leaders plank us to death with corruption, bad roads and bad hospitals and we are begging and praying them for mercy.

Don't beg on your knees. RIP Aluu4! Your innocent blood will fight for you. So sad.

Foreign AffairsRe: Hezbollah Claim Drone shot-down By Israel by inquisitiv: 6:43am On Oct 12, 2012
Its unfortunate how people won't bend down and gather facts b4 talking in a public forum.

1. The drone was detected OVER the mediterrean sea and a IAF jet was sent to shadow it.

2. It wasn't shot down as it standard airforce procedure to shadow and get as much details of the drone as possible. Things like any symbols on it, its external features, anything that d pilot will see needs to be reported for investigation.

3. Any suspicion of being armed would hv resulted in it being blown out of d sky b4 it enters isreal airspace.

4. NO aircraft crosses the mediterrean without being spotted by isreali systems and as a fact, installed isreali and america systÉms gives isreali an eye over the WHOLE middle east.

5. The IRON dome is for missile defence and has a tÉsted ability of 85% during the isreal-hezbollah war.

U aint seen defence systems yet if u haven't been to isreal. Forget all those noise. When d chips are down, we will see action. The only thing bothering experts, is not whether Israel will defeat iran or not, cos Israel will defeat them. The question is at wat cost to lives, the stability of the region and to the world economy. Signs off.

Honestly, I dislike PDP as a party but d performance of some PDP elected officials like chime in Enugu makes me see that with d right breed of people, PDP will be d best party. ACN is a viper, it hasn't struck yet but I'm reading dem and dey will be more destructive plus their regional and overt sectionalism is dangerous. My ward will never vote ACN. As for CPC, assembly of extremists and hot tempered men. I choose the known devil, against d unknown devil. Dey r all d same but pls give me PDP at least for the next election.

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by inquisitiv: 4:40pm On Aug 06, 2012
For the guy that asked for the points he raised, thanks for being mature and not abusing me or telling me 2 shut up and 4 dis reason I will reply u,

Let's start from his comment on d poor- isn't it something to ponder why Nigerians after condemning corruption still steal in offices and dis plays out in d civil service and dis trait just shows more in our political leaders. Does it hv to do with d insecurity of poverty

2. On d niger delta comment, can u tell me y d chiefs and leaders of ND r stupendously rich why deu ignite d passion of resource country for d gullible masses to carry on der head. Mind u, dis is d same menace that plays out in d north and other parts of d country

3. On d issue of God and boundaries, isn't it a call for more robust discussions on our nationhood than just attacking d pastor.

One problem we pseudo-educated nigerians have is our inability to stick to issues even when raised by someone we may call a mad man.

Finally, I won't vote for him as I dnt like emotional ppl but at d same time I sincerely appreciate his being on GEJ neck. We need more of him. And for the guy dat said I should shut up...I can't condescend to trading insults ok?
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by inquisitiv: 4:14pm On Aug 06, 2012
I'm not his follower, I don't like his buhari, I dislike CPC, but d man brought up salient points and some dumb fellows who don't understand that their lives r being messed up by these vagabonds in power are talking tribe, religion, gender and what BS have u. I still say that the actions of GEJ is typical when poor men SUDDENLY see demselves in power. When a poor man WORKS HARD, his behaviour is different. In general, dis grab all mentality is common among the poor and dat is why most people reason on dat base level.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by inquisitiv: 3:56pm On Aug 06, 2012
I'm going to comment again in Nairaland, something I hardly do. I can see some people playing the Niger-Delta ethnic card here to wipe up ethnic sentiments...stupid and absolutely stupid. I can see some playing d religion card viz-a-viz a pastor speaking out against evil government...more stupid and I can see some playing d gender card cos a rightly annoyed man spoke up against a greedy, indolent & insanely corrupt woman....and I agree with him dat paupers, poor men steal without conscience when given access to wealth and power. Its a mentality disease that exists among the poor. Its a fact.

I'm IGBO, I rarely comment on nairaland despite joing in 2008 cos I don't believe in talking. But having gone thru dis thread, I feel d need to comment and mayb I will now form d habit of commenting. First of all, I'm igbo, full blooded nwa ala, and I have a message to my igbo brodas, dos of us born in d 80's. Its time we critically analyse things oursleves and not become sentimental. D coup of Nzegwo et al was a license to d pogrom dat ensured. My grandfada, fada, and my fada's three brodas ( my uncles) fought during d war and my grndfada ws a col in d biafran army, thank God dey all came back alive though one had a bullet in his thigh for 16 yrs. But my kweshion is dis, y did Nzeogwu kill north, western politicians and sudden all eastern politician travelld. For me dats crap. If u were on d oda side wud u bliv dat shit! Imagine if one major does dat & u have all eastern politicians killed now and miraculous d northern guys all went abroad wat will our reaction be. D basis for our calamity ws laid by dat selective coup! Granted der has bn killings in 1953 and 57 of ibos in d north but why not fight it in dat context, y give official and government sanctioned reasons for further & more sosphiscted killns. Listen my brodas, we were wrong in our orchestrating dat first loopsided coup. We shd hv fought d northern blood thirst ppl street by street, man to man and shdnt hv taken d fight to d government officials. Nzeogwu et al said d politicials were corrupt, mind u micheal okpara and oda igbo politicians were also very corrupt. B4 dis my yarn gets too long d jos ppl shd get their asses up and defend their land! I will talk more and more in dis thread...si

Yesterday, I wrote that intelligence I got from my source indicated that the former gov Ohakim has declared a curfew, someome said I should stop hearsay. Now its on air.

listen, go through my replies and mark all I have said.

Tomorrow rigging plan has been known to us and we know what the outcome will be. Imo will be lawless and Ohakim will be in mortal danger after the gov house has been brought down.

Imolites lets stop this by making sure, we all go to those areas and bring his curfew to nullity.
PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by inquisitiv: 4:45pm On May 04, 2011
Just heard Ohakim declared curfew in the four LGA's. Imolites let us reject and refuse this scheme. We will organise and go there and maintain vigil.
PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by inquisitiv: 12:16pm On May 01, 2011
i have noticed that all those supporting Ohakim in this forum opened their account recently as evidenced from the number of their posts. Ignore them! they are part of the propaganda team weakly assembled by the fraud ohakim. they even monitor his daughters facebook wall ( monye ohakim) to fight anybody who writes anything against the thief. They have failed. If u have access to the enormity of fraud being committed even by his 21 year old twins in the sheer amount of pounds they spend a week, you will wipe that family out.

Spending up to 22, 000 pounds in one weekend bash. Where did such amount of money come from? Can it be explained if not the loot fromtheir one-eyed 419 father who all he has achieved in my state is mounting photo-shopped portraits of his criminal face on all billboards.

Listen, I know from privileged intelligence reports that the security outfits know what will happen if ohakim is declared winner but the crook is trying to persuade abuja that he can handle the crisis that will result. He is trying to convince the presidency and SSS HQ that he is in-charge and will settle all the trouble makers even if it means mass arrest. But the guy never see. As at last night, the security report still reads RED on Imo.

But lets not give him a chance to even try to demonstrate that even though he will fail even if he tries that. But to avoid spilling the blood of Ohakim, the people of Imo should watch the supplementary election keenly and make sure no chance is given to rig. Everybody knows he will fail but if they count his rigged votes he may win. therefore we must prevent that from happening.

Why are his aides no more moving about with government vehicles in owerri? Why have most of them escaped from the state? No amount of soldiers will shield ohakim from being lynched by Imolites and his aides know that even if Ohakim can afford security for sometime until imolites assassinate him, they cant afford it.

His wife has left the state and is trying to plead with the man to stand down but the death calling him wont let him hear that.

BTW, that man never won the first election. He has forgotten that.
PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by inquisitiv: 6:58pm On Apr 30, 2011
I have been following this thread cos my hunger for on-the-ground news from my state. I was a student of FUTO under onwuliri, the husband of the woman running with ohakim and i can attest to the political culture he infused to the detriment of academics and development. there are several cases of one room for lecture being built with 40 million naira. I dislike that school partly cos of the politics and mediocrity being encouraged there by the man. Now he is campaigning for ohakim and plans to do wateva possible to have him wim cos of the wife.
To talk about Ohakim is beating a dead horse cos only an eye-witness who lives in owerri can understand our hatred dor him. My only regret is that i have left imo state, i would have been inthe vanguard of this struggle.
For the goons and felons who wish to support him, i would like to say dat  evn Hitler had supporters. I saw some young men numbering about 30 carrying placards in support of ohakim. well, i just looked at the morons with pity maybe they were paid 10,000 naira and they became blank in the brain.
My only anger is that all i can do is talk since i am not there. But if the great people of imo are watchful, the thief will still fail. He rigged the votes and still lost. He will still try to rig.
prepare to fight his thugs back, at least single bolt rifles are legal and matchetes can be bought. allow the thugs to carry the boxes and then ambust them cos no matter the noise if he gets the rigged votes inside INEC, the battle is lost.
I remember the otokoto revolt and know i can trust the determination if the very educated, enlightened and very alutarized people of imo.

IMO WILL RISE AGAIN

My husband just came back from the meeting and he has briefed me what really happened since there was a witness who was with Aik. This thing is really worse than we think.

The witness' name is Jones*. He was in the same local govt with Aik. They both attended the same fellowship. According to the guy, on the friday before the presidential elections, the people were told on their BBC hausa news station that it must be Buhari. The Emir of the place they were told them at their prayer that they should make sure it is Buhari. Whatever comes as a hindrance must be eliminated. The governor also told them the same thing. The corpers also were told that they must make sure the votes were for Buhari alone.

*Jones was invited by Aik to his own lodge so they spent their friday together. On the day of the election, they all went to their polling booths. *Jones said the people coming for acreditation in his own booth were children between the ages 10-14yrs. He wanted to object, but he was threatened. When it the time for voting came, another set of children came.this time, they were as little as 6yrs. He allowed them to vote also and then gave them the remaining ballot paper. When it was time to write the results on the sheets, they told him the figure they wanted him to write. They even told him to write the figure on the other sheets he was supposed to write on only when he got to the local govt. They followed him to the local govt to submit the result so he doesnt report or do anything. On his way back,he met Aik going to submit his & he was followd by multitude of people. He asked Aik why he was been followed & Aik said he didnt agree to do all they wanted.

Unyime-Ivy King said,

The policeman helped him against them. After submittin, they went home together.

Sunday, they both went to church & back. *Jones' friends in his lodge called him to come back so they could chat so he left Aik. By then, they heard that some of the natives were throwing stones at some corpers. They didnt think much about it. On monday early in d morning, they woke up with shouts. The mob had started to attack all the corpers lodge. A hausa corper took *Jones & 20 others & whisked them to his house where they took refuge. Aik wasnt fortunate. They attacked their lodge. Aik & 5 others ran out. That was when he made the first call to Lagos. When they chased them to the police station, the policemen there were only 4. The policemen started throwing teragas which the mob threw back at them. They later shot 15 bullets into the air & they ran out of bullets. These policemen were hausa's so they didnt want to shoot their own. the mob were about 200 carrying dagger, cutlasses & matchets. They started burning the cars parked in front of the station tellin the police to give them the corpers or they'll burn the station. This was wen Aik made his second call. Then they started throwing the fire into the station. By then, Aik & d other guys couldnt breathe cos of the smoke so they started running out.

Some of the policemen around were southern police men. The mob also killed them. Aik ran out of the police station & made his last call that he was between life & death & that shops & houses around there had been razed down with fire. When Ifeanyi tried calling Aik back, the hausa guy picked it & said ''damburuba'' or so- he abused him. He said beneath the man's voice, he could hear someone sobbing as if he was dying. Aik was butchered with the others.

*Jones brought with him, the pics of Aik's body & the others who were butchered. Their fellowship leader was chased into the bush by the mob & butchered too. Another corper ran for his life but when he saw that he couldnt make it, he jumped into someone's well. The owner was a learned man. When the mob started throwing stones at the corper in the well, the man begged them to stop so they told him to give them the corper. He had to. So they brought him out & did the same thing again.

*Jones said the SSS came on tuesday to pick them to the barracks. He came back yesterday. Followed the bus that Delta state sent to pick up their indigenes. He was dropped at Abuja from there he boarded a bus to lagos. He said so far in their local govt, 7 corpers & others were killed.

NYSC has their bodies. They are refusing to give their bodies saying they want to do mass burial.

These are the remains of young Youth Corper Ikechukwu Ukeoma, who was burnt alive by CPC supporters, evidence of man's inhumanity to man.

This madness in the north has been "justified" by General Buhari [a devout muslim] and Pastor Bakare [a "man of God"!], in the name of "civil rights".

The right to mass-merder, arson, pillage and rape?

SHAME!!!
