Please can you share a story with us that we may draw valuable lessons from it. ( workforce stories )

Is it possible to share how you got the job in Canada while in Nigeria?
FamilyRe: How Can My Parents Evict My Troublesome Uncles? by inquisitiv: 5:32pm On Dec 05, 2019
OP where are you from? Which state?

I'm Igbo and I have seen my fair share of family fights and as such I do not allow over familiarity with extended family. It ALWAYS backfires. ALWAYS.

Your uncles are entitled and believe me they have no iota of respect for your mother, not even your father. There is a particular state in Igbo land where this nonsense is rampant and you see them claiming that our brother's thing is our thing.

I am sure they are running that house down. How many taps have they damaged and how many pipes have they broken? What of the windows and doors? Have they ever contributed one kobe to fix one thing? The answer is NO! Laziness is the elder brother of poverty and entitlement is the elder sister of poverty. Poor people are very very entitled especially when they see their brother doing well.

It's a village house so all those loan advice will not work and the police thing will just get messy.

Now, breathe deep and think, apart from the emotional and sentimental attachment to that old house, what is it worth to you in financial value? Not worth much because I know the architecture of houses built in the 80s and how archaic they are now.

Forget the house, let your dad clear his naive mistakes. Build your own house and move your mum and DO NOT repeat your father's mistake.

If your dad is wise and man enough, as an Igbo man he knows what to do. An elder is not taught the dance of the forest by a child. It is your father's fight and not your fight. You are anguy and feel like they are taking advantage of his good nature right? It's him and not you. Just watch and learn.

Most importantly be careful of those your cousins. Only God knows what their parents have been feeding them all these years about your family.

All this my advice is if there is not more details than what you just disclosed. Cheers

I am Igbo. This your comment is disgraceful and does not represent how Igbos reason. That rubbish you typed is nauseating frankly and the number of likes is a reflection of the quality of poor quality of education we receive in this country. How many of us have gone through that US DOJ indictment sheet?
NwaAmaikpe:
shocked

Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivereth him from them all.
Surely, Allen will overcome.

He should not make the mistake of stepping down because the same people who want him to step aside from his position in Air Peace until he clears his name did not ask their National leader to do the same to explain how he got the money he moved in Bullion Vans.

Back to the story.
Ibeto was the Cement company to beat, the banks came for him
Innoson became the face of Indigenous African vehicles, GTBank came for him. The court awarded the win to Innoson.
Capital Oil started making Oando and Forte Oil uncomfortable, AMCON came after him. The court once again awarded the win to Capital Oil.

Now, AirPeace is redefining the face of aviation in Nigeria and the US is now after him for laundering money.
Money that was duly transferred via the CBN to the Plane makers.
Unless I am irredeemably dumb or some hydraulic fluid is seeping out of my Cerebellum, this thing does not just add up to me.
A vengeful, snitchy someone is paying for these tunes the piper is playing.

So my questions are,
Is it now a sin to be a successful Igboman.
Is it a crime to rise against the odds of being Igbo and excel in business in the uneven Nigeria playing field?

How come things are put in place for others to excel no matter what while every known persecution trails others?

I'm not asking a lot,
I'm just saying that water has passed garri when the mosquito decides to suck breast milk meant for the baby instead of blood.
Car TalkRe: Toyota Corolla 2006 Vs. Toyota Matrix 2005: Which Should I Buy by inquisitiv: 6:59am On Apr 29, 2019
I have both cars so let me give you some tips.

My matrix is 4wd so that is the one I can talk about not the single drive version.

The parts of my matrix are more expensive than the corrola. What i buy for 3500 in corrolla I buy for 12,000 in matrix.

The matrix is strong though but the corrolla is more fuel efficient

Hello Nairaland,

I am a duly registered voter and transferred my card from Abuja to Enugu since August 2018.

I have been going to INEC offices to enable me get my card.

My name has been transferred to the register of my polling unit however my card has not been printed.

I do not know whether it is plain incompetence or intentional rigging but what I what is what legal options do I have?

I also understand that many people are facing similar challenges.

I want to sue! Lawyers on this forum how do I initiate a class action against INEC compelling them to give me my card immediately.

I cannot take this with a fatalistic mindset.

Moderators please since this is being faced by many people, can you move it to the front page? Thanks
PoliticsRe: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Demands John Odigie-oyegun Resignation by inquisitiv: 10:05pm On Sep 25, 2016
I am not an APC fan but the enemies of PMB will drive a wedge between him and Tinubu. This is also what the enemies of GEJ did when they drove a wedge between him and Obj. Without Obj, they knew that GEJ was no match for them. Without Tinubu, PMB is no match to the intense and multidimensional intrigues at play in Nigeria. We may dislike Tinubu but you can't deny his abilities. You may think he has been dumped but this guy has many political battles under his belt. PMB without Tinubu has many political defeats under his belt. Just like Obj letter to GEJ fired the first shots that culminated in the storm that swept away GEJ. This letter has fired the shots that will undo PMB. What the president's men do next will determine a lot. They have shown their hands early in the game. People keep saying Tinubu has lost out, you forget that Jagaban is not a title given carelessly. From the onset, he had strategy B and maybe C. Let the duel begin.
PoliticsRe: President Buhari, Ndigbo And The Politics Of Hate - Chris Chukwubuzor Azuka by inquisitiv: 2:05pm On Jun 26, 2016
Once again I will comment on this post so other Nigerians will not believe all igbos support corruption. I am a full blooded igbo and this writer is spot on. He is very correct in his analysis.

The average igbo politician is one greedy creature, accomplishments are the number of houses he built. This disease is so deep that even the youth of the community points to him as haaving been blessed by God since he won election.

I have lived and worked in SE, SS, SW, NC and NE of this country. Every regionhas their corrupt leaders but the difference is that SW will tell their own thieves to their face that they are thieves. My brothers in SE will celebrate the loot and call the thieve 'our son'.

This is a disgrace.

Not in my name!

Goodluck was adopted because of the access of igbo leaders to Dollars. No principle, no strategy. Look at SE states and observe how leadershipwas transferred. Except for anambra others were handed over to people worse than their predecessors. Compare with Lagos where it is obvious that their is a list somewhere of competent managers who are thrown up to lead the state. What we have in the SE is politics of business. where the biggest moneybag buys the office.

As usual once I write some unexposed people will start questioning my igboness. you need to mix up.

The lastest shame is when cases of morals are in court eg forgery, the defense is that 'our son is being persecuted'. this is disgraceful

Not in my name. I am a proud igbo boy. I dont condone fraud.
PoliticsRe: The Last Statement Of Ken Saro Wiwa At The Military Tribunal On May 21 1995. by inquisitiv: 8:16pm On Jun 11, 2016
I am a full blooded igbo and my grandfather, uncles and father fought in the civil war. They commandered platoons and by God's grace they came back alive. I had a close, very close relationship with my grandfather before he died some 12+ years ago and I have gone through his library of almost 500 books documenting the pre-indepence, independence and civil war history of Nigeria. Infact after his death I took over the library. I totally and completely agree with DEADLYTRUTH although I will not agree with some of his tribalistic comments. however DEADLY TRUTH is spot on about his historical analysis and he has a grasp of what he is talking about.

I spent hundreds of hours in my grandfathers sprawling library sitting with him and discussing the very things DEADLYTRUTH just said here. I know some people will start questioning my igboness but I am here to speak my mind. I am even a heir to my grandfathers Nze title so I will not defend my igboness.

the bitter, sad and indedd the deadlytruth is that several mistakes were made by that generation but the most DRASTIC, POORLY THOUGHT OUT AND OUTRIGHTLY STUPID CATASTROPHIC MISTAKES WERE MADE BY MY PEOPLE--- the igbos. My grandfather was an accomplished igbo leader of thought, my uncle has a bullet in his thigh till today, my dad blew up Nigerian soldiers using the ogbunigwe but THEY all agree that the coup by Nzeogwu was stupid, arrogant and outrightly silly. how could you kill every tribe except igbos and expect them to send flowers and thank you notes to you?

the war was unnecessary, Ojukwu was a spoilt kid and should have employed the same matured and political diplomacy of Awolowo. How can you accuse Awolowo of betrayal? Did he sign a treaty with biafra. My family fought because when the bullets start flying, you as a man must protect your wives and daughters.

Zik was blinded by an ambition to rule a large African country and should have listened to Enahoro and Co. I have the history books. I know what I am saying. Onye na- amaro ebe mmiri bido agaghi ima ebe okwu si.

we are the future of this country and we should tackle these issues without insulting each other. I rest my case.

How do I correct the errors in the typing?
PoliticsHow Reno Omokri And His New Media Will Harm GEJ Real Bad. by inquisitiv(op):
It is no more news that the president's social media team is captained by Reno. Whatever led to his appointment is not anybody's business but it is important he understands that his media team will cost his boss dearly.

Before I proceed, I neither represent PDP nor APC.

For a start, I among the many Nigerian youths who somehow believe that making enough points online will get someone to hear our voice and if not for anything make it clear that we can be heard. Now,Reno is not open to any criticism of any form. I was just talking with a friend and fellow online enthusiast who told me that Reno blocked him Facebook simply because he raised a contrary opinion on an issue that is not even related to personal matters.

I enquired from him whether he was rude, he answered in the negative. For confirmation, I asked to see the post and he was indeed polite but firm in his opinion. It is indeed Reno's prerogative to choose who to block or accept but where a presidential adviser gains a reputation of intolerance to opposing views makes one wonder what he feeds his boss.

The complaint from my friend is not an isolated case, many posts have been raised on this same intolerance and outright attack on those who innocently what to contribute to online discussions.

Elections are not won on twitter, but in the case where Reno picks unnecessary fights with any and everybody on twitter and online media is a negative mark to his boss.

The case where Reno's team run about pouring invectives on fellow Nigerians is insulting to his principal, the president.

I MAY still vote GEJ should he run but I am sure his online media team especially the new media kindergartens will cost him more votes with their zeal and passion of creating enemies.

from one insignificant youth of the 45million youths in Nigeria.

Atiku is simply desperate. This is the reason why master strategist Obj dealt with him. Atiku is desperate and has led his group of desperados but the good thing is that it is a northern agenda. All the chants were hause chants. They want the presidency by all means. Now they should be stopped by all means. The presidency should bite and that bite must be deadly. Loyalty is a foreign to Atiku and I'm sure greed is also propelling him. They have played their cards too early and we have seen their penchant for sinking the ship.

I repeat, this pastor biodun has no soul or has lost the one he had. This guy is a manipulator per excellence, a perfect case of deceit. I can't believe what I'm reading. this guy is definitely being advised by the best of brand and damage control professionals. But it won't save him, his hypnotised followers are chanting songs as he walks the road to his perdition. The only person that can save this lost soul, failed pastor is his wife but I guess she has seen enough and is taking it with that resilience women are known for with the hope that the randy apostate she's married to will repent. #disgusted#

I just disliked this guy and his ilk and all he stands for the more. The manipulation and psychological indirect control on his audience today was legendary. This Pastor Biodun is damn dangerous to his followers. Take a course on psychology and covert manipulation to understand what this guy is doing. At the last count, 2 ladies have made grave allegations and confirmed by several others and you have the shameless courage to stand and speak on a DEFILED altar. To his defenders, you really don't wish this man well. You want to destroy his soul while thinking you are defending him.

I have read through this topic from page one to the end and I marvel at the breed called nigerians. Well, I respect peoples right to think differently even if it appears stupid to me.
Legally, the man did not rape the young lady. Legally, the man had a consensual affair with the lady, correct. Legally he didn't drug her good.
Now, let's look at this in the face of what it actually is...A POSITION OF TRUST. Mediocre Nigerians! Religiously brainwashed logically deficient Nigerians!! TRUST. That is why your political leaders get away with anything and now your religious CEOs are getting away with evil and betrayal too. I don't bloody care whether Ese is a saint or not, she actually said she's not but your pastors are manipulating you. The blitz and bling around them are created by professional brand and image professional to achieve a hypnotic effect on you. Their oratory, charisma and saleman-like flowery words are designed to awe you and indeed they have made slaves of you. I know Ese, will read this post and I wanna tell you young lady, stand firm, bend but you won't break. U are a part of a society where people have lost their rationale. I salute the fighter in you. I RESPECT you. Now, don't let that man affect your thoughts. I'm not a church-washed person but I know God is real. Still find him, unfortunately I can't show you where He is. But I know he exists.
You are free and to all the pastors sympathizers and defenders you are his worst enemies, you are the worst enemies of the church you are trying to defend, you are the worst enemy of this young man who should have been called to order a long time ago. in defending him you think you are fighting for him, you think you are fighting for God. You are damn misguided!!

When u are a leader and u meet people like Amaechi ( Arrogant, disloyal, troublesome and unfortunately with control over resources) u crush them. U clip their wings and defeather them. Such men are stupid in their ambition and a little platform makes them feel they can challenge everybody. The president's men must make sure Amaechi is brought to his knees. He must beg and most importantly, must not be forgiven. Set his backyard on fire and attack him from all side. He wants politics, he must be fed a plate full of politics.
