So Uber has come to terms with reality?

But come o. How will a rider cancel and Bolt deduct my score? I did not ask them to cancel yet bolt keep reducing the score. Must I force riders to ride with me?

How do you handle this or is it complete porting?

Selling the car to go abroad without visa is dicey.
Drive your car on Uber or bolt or both but you must be prepared for it. It is quite stressful but you are young so you'll make some money
You have to move to Lagos except where you live is close to Lagos to work and go back home. In Ogun you won't make much.
By the time you're done with your Masters, something else should crop up.
You need to be close to God so you can be focused.

I hope this is helpful

Religion / Re: Man Reveals Why He Stopped Being A Pastor And A Christian by integrity9(m): 7:14pm On May 04, 2019
This is my two kobo: They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. John 2:19

He suffered from imposed faith. His parents were bad examples yet they imposed Christianity on him & that is the result. He wasn't convicted. From day one he was hoping for a miracle that will make him a believer. God doesn't impose only humans do.

I sincerely sympathise with him. He is not living in a real world. His parents were abusive, his marriage didn't work out neither did his ministry. He wasnt fulfilled & he thinks there's a world he will find fulfilment without fighting for it. That is Utopian

That one is a Christian doesn't immunize you from the vicissitudes of life. The difference between a Christian & a non believer is that your life is surrendered to the leadership of the Trinity. If you're convicted you will not fake it hoping it will become real. You will be real to yourself & God. You may not be able to make others believe you're real but that is human nature.

Whether he goes anywhere there will still be some unanswered questions. One day I'll meet my Jesus & ask Him any question I didn't find answer here on earth & I believe He will clarify. If in the end I discover there is no God at least I lived a meaningful life here on earth except you dont believe christian life style isn't good.

At the point of entry, you are likely to be questioned by the immigration, why applying as a couple if only one of you will be using the visa?

Thanks .

Try as much as possible to avoid that, it will raise suspicions about the whole intention of the trip.

Suspicious to consular officer or who? How will they know she won't travel immediately? Just wondering that if chances are beter applying as a couple, why not. My concern is when I'm back & she'll be ready by next year, will it count against her that she didn't use the first visa & is applying for a new one?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by integrity9(m): 11:02pm On Apr 24, 2019
justwise:

Since the last refusal was more than 10yrs ago you don't need to worry about that but if you are asked about your previous refusal you have to admit it.

Traveling alone will reduce your chances of getting a visa, the person inviting is not your relative or a friend, just your wife's friend so traveling together with your wife will increase the chances of getting a visa but it's 50/50.

Thank you so very much. I appreciate your opinion & it makes sense but like @Favo8te mentioned above how will that scenario play out?

@justwise,
You're the most consistent & valuable contributor on this thread. I appreciate you & DmainMan who has gone under for a while now. I need your counsel.
I'm 56 years & hold a Master's degree in English & Literary Studies & currently work as a part-time parish pastor of a prominent Pentecostal church. I worked over 20 years across Security, Sales & Marketing sub-sectors before God called. My wife works with FGN on a salary of about #100,000 per month. My income come mainly from honorariums & goodwill from my public speaking as my pastoral services are voluntary & without pecuniary remuneration. This could average over #3m per annum. I have a landed property in my country home with 4 kids – 3 in the university & 1 currently writing SSCE. I have another half brother responsibility in the university as well.
I can’t remember the exact details now but in 2002 I was refused a visa for false entry in my document (Refusal attached herwith).
My wife’s childhood friend lives in London. They lost contact until a couple of years ago that they reunited. Since then we’ve become very close family friends. She’s been offering to sponsor & host us for a week or two in the U.K, but we didn’t really want to be involved in the visa palaver again. However, this year we agreed to take her up on the offer this summer, August to be exact. Because of a project my wife is handling officially & also reduce cost we agreed I could travel alone this time & the next year she could go
Now I’d love to know the challenges we are likely to face and if prospect is low so I don’t waste time & energy

Let me help you guys understand what you stand to benefit:

1. You'd only need a driver's license in the first business idea. Note drivers licence not car
2. The 2nd idea can be started with a minimum of #20,000
3. While the 3rd only needs good human relations.

Go through my topics you'd see I have come a long way. I realised in the end that majority of us our priblem is not money problem but idea problem.

I have done my best. I'm not given to writing skills to con anyone into during anything. After a little while I'll close aby discussion on it.

Sometimes great things come in a very simple manner

Fellow Nairalanders,

I have been on the search for financial freedom for awhile now. I have read so many threads on this platform which were very useful. I've done so much researches and people when I say so much I mean so much!
Then I attended a business seminar that changed everything. I'm currently using two of the three ideas I want to share. I paid twenty five thousand naira for that seminar but I don't regret it.
However, I can't charge the same amount to let you in on these great ideas but be sure it's not going to be free. Another thing is you have a money back guarantee if the ideas don't work for you after implementing for 4 weeks at the least.
Whatever we don't pay for we don't value. Whatever you don't value you don't desire. Whatever you don't desire you don't pursue because the proof of desire is pursuit.
If interested drop your number or pm me & I'll add your number after a token payment.
He who dares wins. When you always play safe you will remain in your comfort zone and don't mind the name, comfort zone is not always comfortable
It is not a manual but 3 solid interaction trainings on WhatsApp and you're good to go.

My life don tire me. Going to secondary school was tough. I was a house help to one of my aunties. My mother's sister. No books. No care. School was escape for me. Then I met a young boy in the same situation. We became close as we share our sorrow.
Then one day something happened. I can't remember detail but he slept with me and I became pregnant in SS3 at the age of 14.
I hid it until it became public. They took me back to my parents in the village. Trouble between my parents and aunty. Brought me back to Lagos to the boy but he refused. They took me back again to village. Long story short. I gave birth to the baby and she is a girl.
I came back to Lagos myself working and sending money to mother to bring up the girl. I met a man that says he loved me but I can't tell him I have a daughter.
Now my daughter is also pregnant at 14 in SS3. I don't dont know what to do. I tried to take care of her so she will not face what I faced and she's still pregnant.
What should I do? I am confused. Am I cursed? Why? Why?

Sorry, I have been busy & couldnt respond before now.

You are not cursed. Whatever we tolerate in life multiplies. That is why we need to be careful how we behave as whatever we do will affect not just ourselves but the generation after us.
There is a saying that you dont cry after a spilled milk. What has happened has happened. Face reality so you can move on with your life.
Take care of your daughter & grand child. Be close with your daughter. If possible, move her to join you in Lagos. Tell the man that professes to love you the truth about your life. Face reality from now on and if you need personal counsel pm me

It is not easy telling others what you're going through but it brings healing to your spirit.
By the grace of God we have helped many people to find meaning in life again. What is more, you don't pay a dime.
I remember a white woman that I had never met in life before this particular day. I picked her from the Local Airport to Victoria Island when I did e-hailing for a while. On our way we exchanged a few friendly conversation and she started crying. I thought I said something wrong so I asked her so and she said no. Then in between tears she revealed her marriage was about breaking . I listened to her speak till we were on Third Mainland Bridge. I did not interrupt her except to say yes or I see periodically. Before we got to her destination she became very strong again and determined to make her marriage work. Just a word made all the difference. Because she found a listening hear and was receptive to encouraging words, she found a new joy to live a meaningful life again. You too could find yours.
Come on, don't be shy or afraid to bail the cat. Someone is waiting for you to start and they'll be encouraged to open up. Dont disappoint them

I am a known sickle cell patient and also an advocate for those living with the disease, I have tried to be independent and not be a liability to anyone since I could remember. I graduated in 2014 and started mini frozen chicken business in 2016 after youth service. Luckily or unfortunately we got a loan from the bank of industry in 2017.

Things started going south front there.
Buying chicken was expensive and not reliable so we had to raise our own birds.
Within two months we lost birds worth more than 500k to Newcastle disease, the blast freezer started malfunctioning, we lost 300k worth of freshly processed chicken in one night!
Since then we've been looking for ways keep up with loan repayment but its near impossible!
We've lost more than half of our working capital. The business became near impossible to do,Now the last of those we supply chicken to is asking us to supply for less than our cost price!!

Life has been hard.

In between business fails, nothing seem to be working, my private life is in chaos!
I lost everything including an unborn child from my ex
I've tried to be strong, keep going and not lose faith but right now I'm fed up
All the businesses I had the opportunity to advise, write business plans for are all successful and growing.

I'm 31, my family is on my neck to marry ( as a sickle cell?. My babe is an MSc holder with very bright prospects... I'm scared I'm going to tie her down with my life failures! Her parents wouldn't agree to anything until I can show them I am really capable of taking care of her n kids. Naturally.

I have wanted to fight all my life, I thought I could do it, I've always wanted the world to see sickle cellers not just as sickler... I'm not so sure I have any fight left in me. Hustling like everyone else is impossible due to the curse in my blood.
Everyone is seeing me as a failure. I can't walk in the streets.
The only thing that gives me peace right now is the thought of leaving all these behind. I'm not sure I have the balls to do it but right now, it feels like the way out.
So I have 12 hours to make a decision on what's next.

Brother, my heart goes out to you. I can imagine how you feel. You've tried everything at your present level of knowledge & it looks you're boxed in. The world is full of fighters and only those who win are noted.
Don't waste your pain. If you commit suicide, you've wasted your pain. If you stop trying, then you've wasted your pain. Imagine nothing happens to you & a younger man comes to you for advice in this situation, what will your advice be? Go commit suicide? No, any weakling can do that but you're not one from all you've gone through.
Rise up, my brother and pick up your pen and start writing your autobiography. Something is about to click in your life and you want to capture every bit of it.
Be strong and look up to God where your help comes from. He will make a way but be ready to receive it and when all is done, come and share your testimony on our thread- Sharing Life Challenges.
God bless you & see you at the top

Everyone one of us is dysfunctional. Nobody can claim to be able to deal with all the social problems they encounter. That is why we need an outlet to share with each other. After all like they say, a problem shared is half solved.
This thread therefore is open to those of us who are burdened with life challenges and are willing to share with others who perhaps may have gone through similar issues and have overcome that we can benefit from. It is not a thread for judging others or forcing your principle on others. Only God is perfect and no one else can assume to be Him.
We live in an interdependent world and so what affects one person will eventually affects all of us. So by sharing our challenges we have a chance to right our wrongs, gain from others and become better and free human beings.
May be the following will help further explain why we should share our life challenges with each other:
1. Some of us are not living life to the fullest because of our challenges
2. We have Identity crisis
3. Challenges result in Low self-esteem
4. We judge ourselves wrongly and become societal misfits
5. Many people are full of self-guilt i.e. holding self responsible for failure of others or thinking you’ve destroyed others
6. Bottled up challenges could result in health issues, sometimes complicated
7. No career or self growth. Stagnation or retrogression or regression
8. Not taking responsibility for your actions. So we use anyone as scapegoats
There’s a saying that hurting people hurt others knowingly or unknowingly. To free ourselves from these negative implications and live to the fullest unhindered and not judged or not bothering about being judged but achieve freedom of conscience, we need to open up
Please Note: Don’t judge others by your comment or dictate how another person should live their lives. It is up to us and we can only be accountable for our actions and not another's. God bless you

HELP. HELP. HELP. HELP

My driver's licence expired of recent & I applied for renewal through by pass. I didn't know that through by pass I won't be given a temporary licence until the real one is produced or eady. When I realised this, I approached an FRSC staff who showed willingness to assist. He introduced me to his colleague who arranged a licence for me in 7 days but when I uploaded uber waitlisted my account & asked me to contact support.
I went to the Support Centre & was told the licence was fake & that they don't have access to do anything on my account. This is critical because I need money now like fish needs water.

Is there any way out because I'm scared somebody else won't manage the car the way I do & I'll be crippled if I give it out on rental.

Please any suggestion even if it has to be another vehicular business.
