TOPIC: Smart Partnerships (2)

Scripture: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV

*Message*

Yesterday, we saw Judah model smart partnership with Simeon, which happened not because he was weak but because he was wise. Today, Scripture gives us the mechanics of why it works.

Smart partnerships are not just about manpower but also mutual advantage. Let's highlight three things from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. First is what is called increased return, “They have a good return for their labor.” Partnership multiplies output. We must know that one + one in God’s economy equals more than two. Indeed, efficiency rises when vision aligns.

Also, there is risk covering. “If either falls down, one can help the other up.” It is true that battles drain strength. You see, destiny is a marathon, not a sprint. The right partner keeps you from staying down when weariness or warfare hits.

Additionally, there is the availability of greater defense. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.” Some Canaanites won’t fall to a solo warrior. The fact remains that there are gates you would never break through alone.

But here’s the caution we must not ignore. Amos 3:3 asks, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Smart partnerships demand agreement in purpose, values, and spirit. Remember that Judah intentionally chose Simeon, who is a brother with shared lineage and loyalty. Dear reader, not every ally is an asset, as some associations drain instead of drive.

So audit your alliances. Are they effective and moving you toward the goal? Are they efficient, as in conserving strength for future battles? Are they agreed and walking in the same direction?

Destiny killers often come dressed as lone-ranger pride or wrong partnerships. Choose smart.

Lord, I thank You for ordaining relationships that accelerate destiny. I reject the spirit of isolation and the trap of wrong alliances. Father, align me with partners who share my values, sharpen my vision, and strengthen my hands for battle. I declare that my partnerships are effective and efficient as we achieve more with less stress, less waste, and greater impact. I will not fall and remain down, because You have set helpers around me. I receive wisdom to discern, grace to agree, and courage to commit to smart partnerships, in Jesus’ name. Amen

TOPIC: Smart Partnerships (1)

Scripture: "So Judah said to Simeon his brother, “Come up with me to my allotted territory, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I will likewise go with you to your allotted territory.” And Simeon went with him. Judges 1:3

*Message*

The Bible made us realize the possibility of one chasing a thousand, while two can chase not two thousand, but a whopping ten thousand (you can see Deuteronomy 32:30). This is not just a verse that should be limited to marriage relationships, but a reality meant for our advantage in our pursuit of destiny actualization.

First of all, Judah exhibited great wisdom in avoiding battling alone. Remember, the tribe of Judah has a massive population as well as gifted warriors. But rather than going all alone and exhausting all their limited resources on just a single battle expedition, they engaged in a smart partnership with the tribe of Simeon, making the expedition more effective and efficient.

Take note that it was more effective and efficient. Being effective means doing the right thing and achieving the intended result or goal. Being efficient also has to do with doing the thing right, but now achieving the result with minimum waste of time, effort, or resources.

As humans, we are not infinite, and none of us have resources (particularly time) in infinite measures. Hence, we must not only think about effectiveness but efficiency. In other words, it's not just about depleting resources to achieve a particular aim, when you should have achieved the same with minimum efforts and resources if done wisely and efficiently.

Judah could have attacked the Canaanites all alone and still won effectively, but would weary her warriors. Considering that there are still more battles in the future, that could be dangerous. So, rather than doing it all alone, Judah partnered with his brother Simeon (both have the same mother, Leah), and they actually "killed ten thousand men at Bezek" (Vs 4).

Father, thank You for the power of covenant partnerships in destiny. I refuse to walk alone in pride or isolation. Give me discernment to recognize the Simeons You have assigned to my life and the humility to invite them in. I declare that I am effective and efficient in all my battles. I will not waste time, strength, or resources fighting wars You designed for me to win through smart alliances. Lord, connect me with relationships that multiply results and preserve me for future assignments. I receive the wisdom to build, not just to battle, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

TOPIC: The Nazirite Consecration In New Testament Contexts

Scripture: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1

*Message*

The Old Testament Nazirite maintained their consecration by external discipline, rules about hair and wine and corpses. All of these were observed and enforced by the community.

On the other hand, the New Covenant believer has something infinitely more powerful, which is an internal re-creation. "Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6:19–20)

As believers today, we are not keeping a vow to earn God's presence. Rather, you are stewarding a temple in which God's presence already dwells. Unlike the Old Testament Nazirite, the motivation for us has changed entirely.

The Nazirite separated themselves to attract the anointing. The New Testament believer separates themselves because the anointing already lives within them, and because there are things the Holy Spirit will not share space with comfortably. We now have intimacy with Him and wants to avoid things that grieve Him, quench Him, and gradually reduce His operational influence in a life even while He remains positionally present.

Paul calls it in Romans 12:1 a living sacrifice. Your body, your habits, your appetites, your calendar, all presented as a holy and acceptable offering. Experiencing a glimpse of the living sacrifice reality was the rationale behind the given consecration of the Nazirite in the Old Testament. The razor, the wine, the avoidance of death were the vocabulary of a body being offered. Only that in the New Testament, the cultural specifics had been stripped away, and we have been given the principle in its purest form.

Even as believers today, we must join our brethren the Nazirite of Old, to determine what we are willing to keep off the table so that God has room to put something greater on it.

Father, I present my body to You as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable. I am not my own; I was bought at a price. Because Your Spirit dwells in me, I will not grieve or quench Him with compromise. I choose to keep off my table everything that would crowd Your presence out of my life. I declare that my habits, appetites, and calendar are consecrated to You. Let my separation be motivated by love, not law, and by intimacy, not fear. Make me a vessel of honor, fit for the Master’s use, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

TOPIC: The Nazirite Who Understood His Assignment

Scripture: "For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb." Luke 1:15

*Message*

John the Baptist is the New Testament's living bridge between the old covenant principle of Nazirite separation and the new covenant reality of Holy Spirit fullness. So, it's not a surprise when Jesus says of him, “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist...” Matthew 11:11

Luke 1:15 ties them together in a single sum: he "shall drink neither wine nor strong drink" (which is the Nazirite code) and he "will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb" (which is the new covenant reality).

The connection is not accidental, as Luke is showing us that John's Spirit-filling and John's separation were not two unrelated facts about him, but rather two sides of the same coin. The vessel was kept empty of the things that would compete with the Spirit so that the Spirit could fill it without resistance.

As we all know, John lived in the wilderness, eating locusts and wild honey. Everything about his existence was stripped down and simplified, a life from which every comfort and distraction that might have diluted his message had been deliberately removed. The result of this level of consecration was a voice that cut through the religious noise of his generation like a blade, one that made kings uncomfortable and crowds repentant, one that prepared an entire nation for the arrival of the Messiah.

John understood that the power of the ministry is proportional to the cost of the preparation. He did not produce a soft message because he had not lived a soft life, as the wilderness had made him hard in the right places. As a matter of fact, even when Herod threw him in prison for speaking truth, John did not recant. The man who had spent his life in voluntary restriction was not going to be broken by involuntary imprisonment. You cannot threaten a man with discomfort who has already chosen a harder life than you could impose on him.

Lord, empty me of everything that competes with Your Spirit. Like John, I choose the wilderness over the noise, separation over comfort, and truth over approval. I declare that my vessel is kept for Your filling alone. Let my life be stripped of distraction so my voice carries weight. I embrace the cost of preparation because I understand my assignment. I will not be broken by pressure, because I have already chosen consecration. Fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

TOPIC: The Nazirite Who Negotiated With His Consecration (2)

Scripture: "For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.” Judges 13:5

*Message*

Truly, Samson didn't fall in a moment but had been falling in slow motion for years. The Delilah part was simply the moment the accumulated erosion became visible. By the time he laid his head in her lap and told her everything, this Nazirite had so long confused God's patience with God's permission that he did not even recognize the moment of his own undoing:

"He did not know that the Lord had departed from him." (Judges 16:20)

The above verse contains some of the most chilling words you will ever find in the entire book of Judges.

It's not even that God had dramatically abandoned him in a swift moment of divine judgment, but that the departure had happened quietly, gradually, and without announcement. It was so soft that even Samson never noticed he had been abandoned by the divine company until he tried to perform, and nothing came.

As believers today, we should keep remembering that anointing can outlast consecration long enough to deceive us. The gifts keep operating after the separation has been compromised, and the delay between compromise and consequence is one of the most spiritually dangerous seasons a person can inhabit.

You can be losing your consecration and still be winning your visible battles. Then suddenly, catastrophy struck, and the person discovered they had been fully drained.

Father, I refuse to negotiate with my consecration. Deliver me from the spirit of incremental compromise that erodes separation in slow motion. I shut every door to “small” disobedience that leads to great downfall. I declare that my strength is tied to my obedience, not my gifting. I will not trade covenant for convenience or power for pleasure. Keep me from the Delilah moments by dealing with the little foxes today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

TOPIC: The Nazirite Who Negotiated With His Consecration (1)

*Message*

From yesterday's study, we could deduce that what you consistently remove from your life determines what you are able to receive into it. The believer who wonders why they cannot hear God clearly must first ask what noise they have refused to remove. You cannot carry a fine-tuned instrument into a construction site every day and then wonder why it has gone out of tune.

Today, let's examine Samson, who is a cautionary masterpiece of Nazirite theology. Samson was anointed from the womb just like Samuel. The Spirit of God moved on him in power in no small measure.

He tore a lion apart with his bare hands, struck down a thousand men with the jawbone of a donkey, and carried the gates of Gaza on his shoulders.

While the raw power was extraordinary, Samson had a long, documented history of dancing along the edges of his consecration. He touched the carcass of the lion he had killed, which is a direct violation of the Nazirite code of contact with the dead, and scooped honey from its body. He attended Philistine feasts, almost certainly involving wine.

Samson married outside the covenant and visited a prostitute in Gaza. Each of these moments was a small negotiation with his separation. Then came Delilah. We must know that the final razor that took Samson's hair did not arrive suddenly. Rather, it arrived at the end of a long history of incremental compromise.

TOPIC: The Nazirite Who Heard When No One Else Could

Scripture: "O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant... and give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head." 1 Samuel 1:11

*Message*

Hannah made the vow before Samuel was born: "O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant... and give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head." (1 Samuel 1:11)

Hence, Samuel did not choose his consecration. It was rather prayed over him before he drew his first breath, and he was born into a covenant he did not negotiate. Nevertheless, no one can ignore what that lifetime Nazirite pathway produced.

Samuel ministered in an era when "the word of the Lord was rare; there was no widespread revelation." (1 Samuel 3:1) The whole nation was spiritually deaf. The priesthood was corrupt, as Eli's sons were described as sons of Belial, turning the altar into a marketplace of personal appetite. The spiritual atmosphere of the nation was thick with noise, compromise, and the static of accumulated sin.

And yet Samuel heard. His ears were tuned to a frequency that everyone around him had lost. Of course, this is not because he was innately more gifted than his contemporaries, but because the Nazirite pathway had been keeping him separated from the very things that produce spiritual deafness.

The wine of natural intoxication, the razor of worldly conformity, and the contamination of spiritual death all had silenced the nation. Samuel had been shielded from them by covenant since before his birth. And when God spoke in the darkness of the tabernacle, only one boy in all of Israel was quiet enough, clean enough, consecrated enough to hear it.

Separation creates sensitivity.

Lord, I thank You for the covenant of separation that keeps me sensitive to Your voice. In a generation where Your word is rare, tune my ears to Your frequency. I reject the wine of compromise, the razor of conformity, and the contamination of spiritual death. I declare that my spirit is quiet, clean, and consecrated to hear You clearly. Like Samuel, I respond, "Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening." Set me apart so I will not miss what You are saying in this season, in Jesus’ name. Amen

TOPIC: Sacrifice-rich Worship

Scripture: "And they made sacrifices to the Lord and offered burnt offerings to the Lord on the next day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel." I Chronicles 29:21

*Message*

The joy we experience in an atmosphere of thanksgiving gets us energised to make sacrifices to the LORD in gratitude, as well as to set ourselves up for more outpouring of His goodness from heaven.

Indeed, the joy in an atmosphere of thanksgiving is addictive and satisfying, and is healthy for our spirit, soul and body. We crave for more of such atmospheres, and we know that as we go out of our way to offer up sacrifice-rich sacrifices unto the LORD, we are making a statement in the realm of the spirit, and God is quick to grant us more reasons to offer fresh thanksgiving unto Him.

In Psalms 50:5, the LORD HIMSELF says: “Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

So, while God always pour out His goodness to everyone on earth, He is always very intentional about those He has called His own - those who have positioned themselves to enjoy a higher dimension of His goodness via purposeful and delightful sacrifices.

When you worship the LORD as you give thanks, in such sweet moments, you can saturate the atmosphere with something sacrificial. When your life is filled with sacrificial acts as worship unto God, you are setting yourself up for power and influence to become a giant indeed.

Father, I thank You for the joy of giving and sacrificing to You. Help me to offer sacrifice-rich worship, going beyond my comfort zone, and positioning myself for more of Your goodness and blessings. May my life be a sweet-smelling sacrifice to You, and may You be glorified in all I do. Amen.

TOPIC: The Pathway Of The Nazirite (2)

Scripture: "For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb." Luke 1:15

*Message*

The statement of the Nazirite is "I am removing certain permissions from my own life because I understand that what I am called to carry cannot coexist with what I am choosing to lay down."

Now, going back to Numbers chapter 3, we can see that three things marked the Nazirite vow. Flrst, no product of the vine (no wine, no vinegar, not even grape juice). Secondly, no razor can touch their head. Thirdly, they must not have contact with a dead body, even the body of a close family member.

Each restriction carried a theology that even we believers today can pay attention to. The vine represented the intoxications of natural pleasure and the dulling of spiritual alertness. The uncut hair was a visible, public symbol of a private consecration, a walking testimony that this person belonged to a covenant they had not abandoned. The avoidance of death was a consecration toward life, a refusal to let even grief pull the Nazirite out of the sacred space of holiness.

Most Nazirites took the vow for a season, like thirty days, and then were released. However, Samuel, Samson, and John the Baptist were never released. For them, the vow was not a season but a glorious sentence. Their entire lives were to be lived as a continuous, unbroken offering of separation to God.

As Christians today, we have similar glorious sentences, as our entire lives must be lived as a continuous offering of separation to God. Your devotion unto the LORD must not be a seasonal affair but an unbroken lifelong adventure.

Lord, I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Help me to walk the pathway of consecration and separation unto You. I declare that I am set apart for Your purpose. I willingly give up anything that limits my spiritual capacity to carry what You want to give me. Fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit, that I may be great in Your sight and flourish in Your agenda, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

TOPIC: The Pathway Of The Nazirite (1)

Scripture: "For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb." Luke 1:15

*Message*

In the Old Testament, the Nazirites were those (and can be anyone) who decided to take the Nazirites sacrificial vow (you can see Numbers 6) voluntarily on their own accord and terms. Many times, people who took this sacrificial step do so in gratitude for something God has done for them, entering into a covenant with GOD within a time frame.

However, the likes of Samuel, Samson, and John the Baptist were divinely sentenced to a lifetime of Nazirite-living (which means their lives must be filled with continuous sacrificial covenants with God). This was a major platform that kept filling them with the power and influence they needed to flourish in God's agenda.

Of course, we have a much better pathway as new testament saints, but certain principles can be utilised for our advantage even today. There remains a question that quietly underlies every serious pursuit of God, which is: What am I willing to give up in order to carry what God wants to give me?

The Nazirite of Old answered that question with their body, their habits, and their calendar. The word Nazirite itself comes from the Hebrew nazir — meaning consecrated, separated, devoted. It was not a title of religious rank, nor was it inherited through a priestly bloodline. Rather, it was a declaration, a deliberate reduction of options in the natural realm in order to create capacity in the spiritual one.

Dear reader, what are you willing to give up in order to carry what God wants for you today?

TOPIC: Activations And Commissioning

Scripture: "So they ate and drank before the Lord with great gladness on that day. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him before the Lord to be the leader, and Zadok to be priest." I Chronicles 29:22

*Message*

It was recorded in I Chronicles 29:22-25 -

"So they ate and drank before the Lord with great gladness on that day. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him before the Lord to be the leader, and Zadok to be priest. Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him. All the leaders and the mighty men, and also all the sons of King David, submitted themselves to King Solomon. So the Lord exalted Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel."

We should note that Solomon had been proclaimed king before this time, while Zadok had been appointed priest too. But they haven't been doing anything significant until when the nation experienced this atmosphere of thanksgiving where they have to be a fresh activation of their offices.

It was after this was done that everyone now started submitting to Solomon as king and Zadok as priest.

Now, scripture (Revelation 1:6; 5:10) made us realized that we believers have the potential and destiny to be priests and kings. But look at many believers today, and we can attest that we are not living anywhere close to this. Therefore, what many are in need of is a supernatural activation of the priestly and kingship prophecy upon us.

And from what we've seen in 1 Chronicles 29, an atmosphere of thanksgiving is a very good opportunity to get activated to walk in our ordination as priests and kings.

So, when next you are in an atmosphere of thanksgiving (you can create one in your private space right now), maximise the moments by not only offering God special adoration, but also receive something supernatural that will help you become all He Has destined you to be.

Father, thank You for making me a king and priest unto You. I receive fresh activation and commissioning for my divine assignment. I declare that every prophetic word spoken over my life is coming alive. I step into my ordination with boldness, and I will walk in the royal majesty You have bestowed on me. I am enthroned to reign in life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture: "Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the Lord; and King David also rejoiced greatly." I Chronicles 29:9

*Message*

In 1 Chronicles 29, King David and the whole of Israel have partnered with God with their resources to achieve something that will be of benefit to the kingdom and purposes of God, and are showing gratitude to God for all He has helped them to do. So, the atmosphere in 1 Chronicles 29 was that of thanksgiving, and we can see joy evident and glaring in their gathering too:

"Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the Lord; and King David also rejoiced greatly." I Chronicles 29:9

In an atmosphere of thanksgiving, we should be ready to offer unconventional adoration to the LORD: "Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the Lord your God.” So all the assembly blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the king."( I Chronicles 29:20).

When we are in an atmosphere of thanksgiving, the joy that saturates the atmosphere compells us to offer uncoordinated worship to the Lord. We look beyond ourselves, and lavish the "praise of the moment to the LORD" - shouting when led to shout; chanting when the atmosphere demands; dancing like never before; clapping when it appears right; etc

So, one of the trademarks of an atmosphere of thanksgiving is that you bless God in such a way that you have not done before. And the truth is, each time you are in an atmosphere of thanksgiving, by the help of the Spirit, you will not be deprived of fresh inspiration of adoring God.

Father, I thank You for the joy of giving and serving You. Help me to offer unconventional adoration to You, beyond my comfort zone, and to worship You in spirit and truth.

*Message*

The angels and several other divine entities that have the privilege of operating within the boundaries of the immediate realm of God (such as the 24 Elders, etc) usually offer incense of worship to Yahweh for Who He is.

If you check the book of Revelation chapter 4 for instance, you see that by simply beholding the excellency of Yahweh, the four living creatures made worship their major occupation, shouting endlessly in worship, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” (vs .

However, in Luke chapter 2, we saw a vivid case of the angels praising God for what He has done (for giving the earth Jesus Christ). And we can see that the joy-factor remains very evident.

So to them (heavenly beings), whether they are worshipping God for who He is, or thanking Him for what He did, the incense of adoration must be passionately engaged and joy must be present, and all that matters is that God is glorified.

As God's beings still residing here on earth, we must show gratitude for what He has done for us, and we should lavish our incense of adoration with joy, to make it a sweet-smelling one unto the LORD.

Father, I praise You for Who You are and thank You for Your goodness. Help me to lavish my incense of adoration with joy, making it a sweet-smelling sacrifice unto You. May my worship be pleasing to You, and may You be glorified in all I do. Amen.

*Message*

When we worship the LORD with praise and thanksgiving, we are emitting adoration to Him (heartfelt adoration from deep within us), either for Who He is or what He has done. We offer incense of praise and thanksgiving to God either in reverent admiration for Who He is or in gratitude for what He has done for us.

We praise Him for Who He is as we behold Him in His full glory and majesty, admiring His impeccable attributes, power, and beautiful characters. Worshipping Him for Who He is, has little to do with what He can do (or has done) for us. As we truly gaze upon His indescribable Brilliance, we find ourselves uncontrollably worshipping in admiration and holy reverence. At this point, we adore the Lord God without having to wait for Him to do anything for us.

On the other hand, when we offer incense of thanksgiving to the LORD, we are adoring and blessing Him in gratitude for what He did for us, which we are genuinely grateful for.

Whether we are praising Him for Who He is, or we are thanking Him for something He did for us, our adoration must be preceded by deep reflection of the awesomeness of the LORD. This can help us worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

TOPIC: Winning With Praise. New Testament Contexts (3)

Scripture: " "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6–7

*Message*

Let's carefully read through today's opening verses:

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6–7

The first thing we should note is that thanksgiving is not the reward at the end of the process. Rather, thanksgiving is the entry point into the process. In other words, you do not pray, receive your answer, and then thank God. On the other hand, you are to bring thanksgiving into the prayer itself, before the answer comes.

You have to lace your prayers with thanksgiving before the battle resolves and before the enemies turn on one another, like we saw in the case of Jehoshaphat in the Old Testament. The principle remained the same, which is the fact that praise precedes the peace, just as the choir of Jehoshaphat preceded the conquest.

The result of doing this is the introduction of a peace that surpasses understanding. Another way of saying this is that you will witness a peace that has no logical basis in your circumstances. It is a peace that makes no natural sense, one that your situation does not justify but that God provides anyway.

This is the New Testament equivalent of standing at the edge of the wilderness and watching three armies destroy each other without lifting a sword. The rational mind cannot explain it. But the worshipping heart has learned to expect it.

Dear reader, you are not Jehoshaphat with a kingdom and an army and a formal temple liturgy quite alright. But you have the same God. You also have the same weapon, lips that can open in the darkness of midnight in whatever prison you are currently occupying.

You have a voice that can rise in whatever wilderness is currently surrounding you. You have a heart that can choose to praise the beauty of holiness before the outcome is visible.

TOPIC: Winning With Praise. New Testament Contexts (2)

Scripture: "At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them." Acts 16:25

*Message*

The writer of Hebrews makes the theology explicit: "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." (Hebrews 13:15)

We should be aware that the phrase "sacrifice of praise" is not decorative language but precise theological vocabulary. A sacrifice costs something, and it is offered not when it is convenient or emotionally natural. It is offered when the altar is cold, when the circumstances are dark, and when every logical instinct says that silence or lamentation is more appropriate than song.

Jehoshaphat's choir walked out into a wilderness toward three armies. That was not a comfortable place to begin singing. It was, in every natural sense, the worst possible moment for worship. But that is exactly what makes it a sacrifice, and that is exactly why it worked.

When the believer who has just received a devastating diagnosis chooses to open their mouth and declare the goodness of God before they have seen the outcome — that is a sacrifice of praise.

When the couple whose marriage is under siege chooses to worship together on a Sunday morning rather than rehearse their grievances — that is a sacrifice of praise.

When the entrepreneur whose business is suffering chooses to tithe and testify in the same week — that is a sacrifice of praise.

Of course, these are not performances of denial but declarations of sovereign confidence. This is the spiritual equivalent of appointing the choir to march ahead of the army.

Indeed, God answers that kind of worship.

TOPIC: Winning With Praise. New Testament Contexts (1)

Scripture: "At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them." Acts 16:25

*Message*

The most direct New Testament echo of Jehoshaphat's choir is not even found in a worship service but in a dungeon. Acts 16 records that Paul and Silas, having been stripped, beaten with rods, and thrown into the innermost cell of a Philippian prison with their feet fastened in stocks, did something that defies every natural instinct:

"At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them." (Acts 16:25)

These are not men singing in the comfortable warmth of a gathered congregation. Remember that their backs are open and bleeding, while their feet are locked in iron. They are in the deepest part of the prison, the place reserved for those deemed most dangerous and hopeless. It was also stated that it is midnight, an indication that everything about their circumstances is designed to silence them.

But they sang.

Indeed, this is the Jehoshaphat principle in its New Testament form. For them, the choir went out before the army as their praise preceded the deliverance (not the other way around). Also, for Paul and Silas, they did not wait for the earthquake to break out in worship, as worship preceded the earthquake.

"Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed." (Acts 16:26)

The Moabites and Ammonites turned on each other when Judah began to sing. The prison foundations shook and the chains fell off when Paul and Silas began to sing. Apparently, God sets ambushes in the spiritual realm in response to praise offered in the natural one. Heaven moves when earth worships.

By morning, an entire household had been baptized, and a church had been planted in Philippi, the very city that had thrown them in chains. The spoil of that midnight praise session was a community of believers whose letter Paul would later write as one of the most joy-saturated documents in all of Scripture: "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice." (Philippians 4:4)

The man who wrote those words wrote them having proved them. The joy he commanded was the joy he had practiced in a dungeon.

TOPIC: An Uncommon Battle Technology That Guarantees Victory

Scripture: "And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.”II Chronicles 20:21

*Message*

The book of II Chronicles chapter 20 started with a fearful exposition: "It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat." (Vs 1). As expected, God's people were scared and worried: "And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah." (Vs 3).

However, the king exhibited faith and wisdom by leading his people towards taking matters into the realm of the supernatural by soaring high into the realm of the Spirit to excavate help and strategies from God. "So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord." (Vs 4).

Then came the Lord's response of peace: "You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” (Vs 17).

The strategy that was excavated from the heights of the Spirit was to praise their way into victory:

"Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high....Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much." (Vs 19, 22-25)

TOPIC: You Can Never Go Wrong With Praise

Scripture: "Yahweh answered them, “Let Judah take the lead." Judges 1:2 TPT

*Message*

Following the death of Joshua, the children of Israel seem so stuck and don't know what else to do, since they have always had Joshua around for a very long time. Then they took the wise decision to inquire what next to do from the Lord, and His response was: “Let Judah take the lead." Judges 1:2 TPT

Judah means "Praise", and it's a way of enlightening God's people that whenever you seem confused and stuck in whatever area of life, even when you don't know what type of prayer or spiritual practice to engage, simply spend quality time praising God for who He is, and you will never be wrong in doing that.

Fast forward to many years later in chapter 20 where God's people found themselves in a very difficult situation where they had to war against one of the nation's tribes (the Benjaminites) to cut off the abominations they introduced to the land. In their state of emotional confusion, they reached out to the Lord again: "Before the battle, the armies of Israel went to the house of God to seek counsel from God. The Israelites inquired, “Which tribe gets to go first to battle the Benjamites?” Yahweh answered, “Judah will go first.” Judges 20:18 TPT

Today, many of God's children around the world are wondering what's God saying to them right now, or what is God expecting from them at this unclear junction of their life? But you don't have to be idly ignorant, you can just praise Him! You can never be off target when you praise God right now!

Like we could see from the experiences of the children of Israel, as you praise, the paths that lead to victory, peace, and clarity yield to you on their own accord!

TOPIC: After Easter

Scripture: "We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. Psalms 78:4

*Message*

Many of Jesus's immediate disciples were low-lifers who were not enviable as far as the most noble scheme of things in their society was concerned. However, after accepting Jesus's invitation of love, their intimate interactions with the love of Christ brought about eternity-relevant transformations, and they considered themselves grave ingrates should they hold back from witnessing Him.

Even after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus when they saw Him at Galilee, the atmosphere of commissioning, the Lord asked them to: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," (Matthew 28:19).

After Easter, despite how they were vehemently persecuted for their faith, even in the face of death, the voice of the LORD kept in their hearts was still burning within them, and they won't hold back their testimonies from a world that is destined to interact with the goodness of the LORD.

If you are truly grateful to the Lord for His sacrificial love, then, after Easter, you should reciprocate by testifying His goodness to everyone. This is a potent manner to witness Christ. The purpose of your testimony of the Lord's goodness is to woo the world to taste of the Lord too and see that He is good.

The world out there needs something genuine and real and true. This should make the job of witnessing Christ much easier for us, as you can achieve a lot by sweetly speaking of the goodness of the LORD to you via the economy of His endless love, emphasizing the fact that He is also ready to shower His goodness on anyone who will embrace His offer in Christ Jesus.

After Easter, you shouldn't hide the blessings God has bestowed on you through His love. Tell it to the world and implore everyone to come taste of His goodness too. Open your mouth and begin to testify.

TOPIC: Defeating Death Like A Boss

Scripture: "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Matthew 28:6

*Message*

After Jesus was killed and placed in the tomb, there was great silence everywhere. When it seems hope is lost, joy was silently brewing, gently approaching, reaching its climax when the KING of Glory resurrected gloriously from the grave - nothing could hold Him bound in darkness!

Hallelujah! Jesus is risen! Hallelujah! Glory to God!

The strength of His resurrection is a display of the truth of His words, that in Him is Life. We can believe for sure that He is KING over all, including death. Death has been successfully tormenting and traumatising mankind for many years. But the strength of Jesus's resurrection humiliated death, stripped it of his powers, and rendered it disgraced.

In the strength of His resurrection, you, too, can humiliate death like a boss. You can forever enjoy eternal life that proceeds from God as you stay connected to Him in spirit and in truth, through faith in Jesus Christ. God is only interested in a relationship with mankind, possible through Jesus Christ. This is when life, the life God dispenses into your spirit, will keep empowering you to live the quality life He has ordained for you - a life that can't be hindered by sin, satan, death, sickness, poverty, etc.

As you are connected to Him, you become a dispenser of life, chasing death (both spiritual death and its other expressions) away from your space. In the strength of His resurrection, go and make Jesus proud!

TOPIC: When Even Death Serves Useful Purposes

Scripture: "Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:19 ‬

*Message*

Death is known to be gruesome, ugly, and dark. However, in God's intelligence, He can always outsmart the craft of death to produce abundant positivity:
‭‭‬
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain." (John 12:24).‬

All through the scripture, God kept displaying His visionary qualities in no small measure, preparing well ahead of time so nothing catches Him unaware or unprepared. For instance, even before establishing the current heavens and earth, the Lamb of God had been slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13). This has ensured a divine sacrificial protocol that birthed a framework that will guard His creatures (whenever He will create them) from eternal damnation if they erred (and as if He knew, they eventually erred in the beautiful garden He placed them).

Jesus perfectly mirrored the necessity of sacrificial death (and the need to ignore immediate gratification) just to birth something more glorious in the future with eternal significance. The way of death is painful quite all right, and even Jesus, the Son of God, embraced the pain of having to destroy the status quo, just to birth a new dispensation that will reunite mankind back to God.

On this glorious Good Friday, you must be willing, like Jesus, to let go of whatever it is that is hindering God from birthing something eternally glorious through your life. It might be a relationship, a lucrative opportunity, a habit and lifestyle you find so cozy, etc. Embrace the pain of death, and you will be joyous to see the fruits in the coming day.

TOPIC: When A Nation Decides To Purge Itself Of Sin

Scripture: "So all the children of Israel came out, from Dan to Beersheba, as well as from the land of Gilead, and the congregation gathered together as one man before the LORD at Mizpah. And the leaders of all the people, all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand foot soldiers who drew the sword." Judges 20: 1,2

*Message*

In spite of the constant disobedience of the children of Israel that made them hard to walk with in the Book of Judges, God was still consistent in exhibiting His goodness towards them. One of the expressions of this exhibition was in how He still responded to them when they cried out or prayed to Him.

In Judges, there were different instances where God still spoke to the Israelites even in their undeserved state, such as in chapter 6, 7, and 10. However, we will focus on chapter 20 of the book. It started with an exposure of the dwelling of unpleasantness and abomination in the camp of God's people and an imminent war between brethren.

God was apparently disgusted by what the Benjaminites had done (you can read the previous chapter for full context), but even the rest of the tribes are not walking in full alignments with Him. However, the opening verses in chapter 20 were a positive sign to see Israel gather for such a cause, as it showed that they were willing to deal with the problem of sin in their midst.

While God's people were not in great alignment with Him at this point, yet, it seems that the crime of Gibeah shocked their conscience. Today, it seems that the crime by the men of Benjamin would be material for tabloid news, cable television, daytime talk shows, and talk radio.

Hence, we were told that "the leaders of all the people, all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves." Deuteronomy 13:12-18 instructed Israel how to deal with such abominations among them. It said they must first test the truth of the accusations. If the charges were true, they must then utterly destroy those who committed such an abomination.

Although a difficult decision, Israel had to cut off the abominable Benjaminites to ensure their abominations won't further get the whole nation infested. In the same vein today, nations that have departed from God's perfect Will must take painful actions to purge itself of its abominations.

"Father, help my nation to humble itself and turn away from sin. Purge the nations of the world of corruption, injustice, and idolatry. Give our leaders the courage to make righteous decisions, and grant us the wisdom to walk in Your ways. May we, as a nation, experience revival and cleansing, and become a beacon of hope. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Before the walls of Jericho eventually fell, the children of Israel persevere for some days, quietly. You must learn perseverance and longsuffering, even as you keep taking your daily steps of faith.

Today, Jericho’s walls are not always stones. They can be financial struggles, relationship breakdowns, addictions, injustice, repeated rejection, etc. Just like Israel, we may not see results on day 1, day 3, or even day 6. But faith that keeps walking eventually sees walls fall.

A young man addicted to pornography and drugs felt powerless. Rehab had failed multiple times, and he was close to giving up. However, he joined a prayer group, stayed accountable, prayed daily, and believed God could restore him. Even when cravings hit, he didn’t stop his “march” of faith practices.

After months of consistency, he experienced freedom, later mentoring others with the same struggles. Hallelujah!

Dear reader, don't give up with whatever tough walls are standing before you and where you ought to be. Keep hitting by faith. Let your eyes of faith see the walls fall flat before it comes down eventually.

TOPIC: The Interesting Experiences Of Rahab The Harlot (3)

Scripture: "By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace." Hebrews 11:31

*Message*

Rahab the harlot received the spies with peace, and because of that, she didn't perish with other unbelievers in her nation. In the same vein, any sinner who received God's gospel and believed by faith, is saved from perishing with other unbelievers around.

It is true that unbelievers are heading towards destruction and bound to perish by their own decision and freewill, except they repent and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, embracing God's way of righteousness. The bible clearly says, in John 3:16 -

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

The unbelieving sinner is heading to destruction, but what saves them from not perishing for all eternity is to be infused with eternal life (the God-life) through faith in Christ. It is very disastrous to perish in the lake of fire for all of eternity. It says in Revelation 20:15 -

"Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."

Dear reader, have compassion for those unbelievers around you because they are going to perish if they fail to repent. Your compassion should drive you to intercede for them so that faith is ignite in their heart; then preach God's word to them so they can believe and be saved. Amen.

Father in the name of Jesus, grant me greater compassion for the lost sinners around me, driving me into greater intercession and faithfulness in preaching the gospel to them.

TOPIC: The Interesting Experiences Of Rahab The Harlot (2)

Scripture: "By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace." Hebrews 11:31

*Message*

It's pretty much significant that even in the Old Testament dispensation, a dirty Rahab (a prostitute) was grafted into the league of God's greats via the excellency of faith. It is a vivid proof that today, it doesn't matter the extent to the terrible and sinful things you've done, faith in Christ Jesus is so powerful to grant you a fresh life that's consistent with God's perfect Will for you.

We want you to see the role you've got to play in profiting from the availability of faith. Faith, though powerful, won't have been able to help Rahab if she didn't intentionally take certain steps to interact with faith.

"Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, and said to the men: “I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token, and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.” Joshua 2:8-13 NKJV

From verse 10 of the above scripture, the woman started talking about how they have heard of the gospel of God's exploits through the Israelites. She wasn't the only one who heard that gospel - but she was the only one who chose to embrace the God of Israel and express faith in His ability for deliverance.

Dear reader, you have heard the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. You must deliberately act upon what you've heard, with faith, and internationally choose to draw closer to the Lord. Anywhere you are right now, talk to the Lord and allow Him full access into your life.

*Message*

First, it doesn't matter how dirty an individual is, faith is powerful enough to translate them genuinely from their habitation of dirt into pure acceptable holiness through Christ Jesus. Rahab used to be in the committee of disgusting lowlifers in the society, but upon being introduced to the faith-life associated with the God of Israel, she was brought into the league of the greats.

From her loins came not only King David but the Lord Jesus Christ. "Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah." (Matthew 1:5, 6 NKJV).

Dear reader, you may have done a lot of bad stuff, and you feel worthless and not useful to God. I'm assuring that if you place your faith in Christ Jesus today, He will transform your life as He did for Rahab the harlot. Come to Jesus now!

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18 NKJV

The blood of Jesus that was shed on the Cross of Calvary for your sake is ever potent and effective to wash your filthy pasts and cleanse your stinking impurities, making you a glorious new creation acceptable to God and righteous in Christ Jesus.

TOPIC: The Enemies You Almost Forgot (4)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Maonites …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

There is also a prophetic dimension to this for Israel's moment in Judges 10 .When God says, "Did I not deliver you from the Maonites?" He is not just offering a history lesson but making a case. He is telling them, "You have seen what I can do with even your smallest, most obscure enemies. You have watched me handle threats you could not even properly name. And still you went after other gods?"

The logic of ingratitude always moves in one direction. It goes from forgetting small mercies to doubting great ones, from neglecting quiet deliverances to abandoning the Deliverer altogether.

You should realise that Israel did not wake up one morning and decide to forsake the Lord. They drifted, forgot the Maonites, forgot the small rescues; and in the accumulated forgetting, faith eroded into formality, and formality collapsed into idolatry. The same drift is available to every believer today.

A Christian today who cannot remember when God last came through for them in a small, private, unspectacular way is the one most vulnerable to the spectacular crises of faith. Because faith is not built in the great moments alone but maintained in the daily recollection of God's faithfulness in ordinary ones. The psalmist understood this.
"I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings." (Psalm 77:11–12)

This was not passive nostalgia but active, disciplined, intentional remembrance. He was fighting forgetfulness the way a man fights sleep when he must stay awake. You must fight forgetfulness the same way, dear reader.

I will advise that you keep a record, which doesn't have to be sophisticated (you can use a journal, a note on your phone, etc) one for each time God brought you through. Because the Maonites will come again, in form of subtle, unnamed pressures. At such moments, you will need more than a vague sense that God is good, but you will need the specific, dated, personal evidence that He has been good to you.

*Message*

So, the Maonites are the enemies you almost forgot. Due to their configuration, no single raid is devastating enough to sound the alarm. But cumulatively, consistently, over time, the raids wear you out. However, remember God told the Israelites that "I delivered you from the Maonites too."

In other words, I didn't only make you experience big deliverances. Not just the Red Sea moments when the water parted and the whole world watched a miracle unfold. God is educating them (and us today) that He is also the God of the quiet rescues, the unseen interventions, the times He drove back the raiders from the wilderness before they could finish the job.

There were harvests the Maonites meant to take that God protected, unknown to His people. There were raids that were planned against Israel that simply never materialized, and Israel never knew to be grateful because they never knew the danger had come.

Dear reader, I make bold to tell you that you have Maonite deliverances in your history that you have not yet counted.

Think of the depression that threatened to become permanent but did not. Think of the addiction that had its claws in you before something or someone intervened. Think of the relationship that was quietly poisoning you, the one you did not even fully recognize as toxic until the day it ended and you felt like you could breathe again. You may have called it luck or coincidence, but God calls it deliverance from the Maonites.

Unfortunately, the Israelites had forgotten. That was the indictment of Judges 10. They had moved on from one crisis to the next, and in forgetting, they had severed the cord of gratitude that should have kept them tethered to the God who had saved them. Ingratitude is crude and terrible. When we forget what God has done, we functionally deny who God is.

TOPIC: The Enemies You Almost Forgot (2)

*Message*

Think about the enemies in your own life that fit that description. Not the great catastrophes like the job loss that everyone knew about, or the diagnosis that changed everything, or the public betrayal that you could name and grieve openly. Those big challenges are the Egyptians and the Philistines of your story. They are hard and difficult, but at least visible and nameable.

But you see the Maonites, they are something else. The Maonite in your life is the low-grade anxiety that has been raiding your peace for so long you have stopped calling it anxiety and started calling it just how you are. It is the chronic self-doubt that slips in from the southern wilderness of your mind every time you attempt something significant, strips your confidence, and retreats before you can confront it directly.

For someone, the Maonite in your life is the quiet resentment you carry toward a sibling. This is not even a dramatic falling-out that is worth a family meeting, but a slow predatory thing that has been eating the warmth out of that relationship for years. The Maonites are the subtle thieves.

A woman in pastoral counseling once described her struggle. She said that she doesn't have one big problem, but have a hundred small ones, and they take turns. That is a Maonite campaign. No single raid is devastating enough to sound the alarm. But cumulatively, consistently, over time, the raids wear you out.

You look up one day and realize your joy has been plundered, not by one great enemy, but by a thousand small withdrawals you barely noticed as they happened.
