TOPIC: Fighting Enemies That Seemed More Technologically Advanced (1)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Philistines …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

We have considered how God delivered His people from their first enemy-nation, the Egyptians (representing deliverance from foundational, systematic slavery and bondage), then the Amorites (an enemy encountered in the wilderness), and then the Ammonites (representing internal, familial betrayal and harassment).

After the Ammonites comes the Philistines (Judges 3). The Philistines are a representation of coastal and technologically superior foe that was a constant major source of oppression for Israel. The good thing, however, was that, even with their superior technologies, they keep falling before the God of Israel.

It is necessary to know that, unlike the Amorites, the Philistines were not a ragtag band of desert wanderers. They were a sophisticated, organized, and militarily advanced people who had settled along the fertile Mediterranean coastline of Canaan. And they brought with them something Israel simply did not have, namely iron.

While Israel was still largely working with bronze, the Philistines had mastered iron metallurgy, and they jealously guarded this technological advantage. The book of 1 Samuel later tells us plainly that the Philistines had instituted what amounted to an ancient arms embargo, the fact that no blacksmith was permitted to operate in all of Israel, lest the Hebrews forge swords and spears.

It was so bad that if an Israelite needed even a farming tool sharpened, he had to travel to a Philistine workshop and pay their price for it. It was economic control through technological monopoly, the kind of leverage that modern nations still use against weaker rivals.

The Philistines also fielded chariots of iron, which are mobile war platforms that turned open battlefields into killing grounds. Against such machinery, Israelite foot soldiers armed with whatever they could find must have looked entirely outmatched. It was the ancient equivalent of facing tanks with farming tools. The disparity was not marginal but was indeed overwhelming.

And yet, the Philistines kept losing, for God was with His people, even the LORD of Hosts!

TOPIC: Internal Familial Betrayal And Harassment (3)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the people of Ammon…?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

The Ammonites represent a category of warfare that many believers find hardest to process, which is opposition from those who share your bloodline. Imagine harassment from those who know your history and jealousy when you step into promise. There are even cases of competition disguised as concern.

Remember, Egypt is external bondage, while Amorites are environmental obstacles. But Ammon is unique in that it is internal betrayal, and it often hurts more due to a myriad of reasons.

It is true that proximity creates expectation while expectation magnifies disappointment, which in return evolves into deep wounds.

From Judges 10, when Israel cried again, God said: “Did I not deliver you… from the Ammonites?” In other words,I have handled internal hostility before. I have resolved family-based oppression before. I have neutralized relational harassment before. The same God who breaks systemic bondage also deals with familial betrayal.

Dear reader, there are times when your prosperity exposes another’s insecurity, when your calling unsettles someone who shares your roots, and your elevation feels like their demotion. History shows that relatives can sometimes harbor more animosity than distant strangers because they compete in the same psychological and economic space. But it is comforting to know that the presence of Ammon does not cancel the promise of God. Israel still entered destiny.

So, if you are facing harassment from within your circle, opposition from relatives, or even if it's sabotage from familiar faces, remember that God does not only deliver from Egypt, but He also delivers from Ammon. And if He has done it before, He can do it again.

*Message*

So, the Israelites didn't only battle with foreign enemies like the Egyptians and the Amorites, but they also encountered internal familial betrayal and harassment from the Ammonites. Remember, the Ammonites, who were ironically relatives of Israel (descendants of Lot), frequently joined others to oppress Israel.

History, both ancient and modern, consistently shows that neighboring relatives often harbor more animosity than distant strangers. The reasons include factors like a sense of betrayal or wounded pride when a kinsman prospers, and competition for the same resources, trade routes, and pastureland.

We must emphasize the fact that Israel's origin story was an insult to Ammonite pride. Remember, Genesis 19 records that both Moab and Ammon were conceived through incest between Lot and his daughters. This account was preserved and circulated by the Israelites.

Whether or not the Ammonites had their own version of this story, Israel's telling of it was deeply demeaning. This kind of ethnic narrative warfare breeds resentment over generations.

Finally, many of the recorded Ammonite aggressions weren't ideological crusades but were opportunistic. When Israel was weakened (during the judges period, for instance), the Ammonites expanded. This was pragmatic politics where you press your advantage when you can. The fact that they were relatives didn't override geopolitical interest.

TOPIC: Internal Familial Betrayal And Harassment (1)

*Message*

God was reminding His people, the Israelites, of 7 tough enemy-nations He already perfected victory over, in Judges 10:11–12. The first enemy-nation highlighted was the Egyptians (Exodus 12-14), representing deliverance from foundational, systematic slavery and bondage. Then we see the Amorites (Numbers 21), an enemy encountered in the wilderness.

The third enemy-nation highlighted was the Ammonites (Judges 3, 10), who were ironically relatives of Israel (descendants of Lot) but frequently joined others to oppress Israel. They represented internal, familial betrayal and harassment (but God still gave them victory).

So, first of all, we should seek to know why the Ammonites harboured great hatred towards Israel before we begin bringing this to our immediate context today.

The most immediate source of tension was land. When Israel emerged from the wilderness, they occupied territories that the Ammonites had either previously held or claimed. The Ammonites had themselves been displaced northward by the Amorites before Israel arrived, so they were already in a volatile territorial situation. Israel's arrival intensified that pressure. The Ammonites never forgot what they saw as dispossession.

Also, we should highlight the cultural and religious rivalry between the duo. The Ammonites worshipped Molech, a deity requiring child sacrifice. This created a deep religious incompatibility with Israel's monotheism.

Far from uniting related peoples, competing religious identities often intensify ethnic conflict, as each side viewed the other's worship as an existential abomination. Ironically, this very proximity made the threat feel more urgent on both sides of the divide.

TOPIC: The Modern Amorites

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Amorites …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

The Amorites in the days of old attacked God's children with dangerous swords, representing a formidable enemy that sought to destroy God's people. However, the Amorites of today may not carry swords but may carry smartphones, debt, comparison culture, addiction cycles, unchecked ambition, emotional wounds, imposter syndrome, etc.

Today's "Amorites" can be seen as the idols, distractions, and vices that can lead us astray. History keeps repeating itself, and the cycle goes on. The evil spirits that influenced the Amorites of old to try destroying God's people then, is still influencing different things today to achieve same purposes.

Smartphones, for instance, can be a tool for connection and growth, but they can also be a source of comparison, anxiety, and addiction. Debt can be a means to achieve financial goals, but it can also be a heavy burden that weighs us down. The comparison culture fueled by social media can make us feel inadequate, while addiction cycles can trap us in destructive patterns.

These modern-day "Amorites" might not be wielding physical swords, but they can still rob us of our peace, joy, and purpose.

The good news is that just as God provided guidance and protection for His people back then, He offers us the same today. By recognizing these modern threats, we can take steps to overcome them and find freedom, healing, and true life. So, you should first identify your Amorites by reflecting on what is holding you back. Is it social media, debt, or something else? Awareness is key.

Then take strong steps such as filling your mind with scripture, surrounding yourself with people who encourage and support you (particularly your church family), and focus on the LORD. Insist that you won't be trapped!

In the Name of Jesus, I claim victory over any modern-day "Amorites" in my life, and I obtain fresh strength to remain more than a conqueror.

TOPIC: An Enemy In The Wilderness (4)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Amorites …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

A young woman leaves a toxic relationship and commits to living purely and intentionally. She deletes certain contacts, blocks unhealthy influences, and rededicates her life spiritually. While she was expecting peace, the wilderness begins in form of loneliness, stronger temptations, nighttime urges, social media algorithms pushing explicit content, etc.

Her Amorite shows up in the form of “Lust of the flesh” (physical cravings), “Lust of the eyes” (visual temptation through digital media), and “Pride of life” (wanting validation and attention). This was exactly how Jesus was attacked in the wilderness (Matthew 4), but He fought with the Word. He didn’t negotiate or rationalize, He simply declared truth.

Jesus defeated Satan in the wilderness before publicly dismantling his works on the cross. The private wilderness victory preceded the public triumph. Many people want public victory without private wilderness obedience.

But the wilderness is also very helpful, helping in breaking pride, exposing hidden lust, refining ambition, testing motives, teaching discipline, etc. Therein, you are being upgraded from emotional believer to grounded disciple.

So, dear reader, when you face your wilderness, don’t panic at resistance, as resistance is often proof of transition. Also, don’t romanticize Egypt, because comfort is not calling. Additionally, you must apply the Word strategically, as Jesus answered every temptation with Scripture. Saturation builds stability.

Jesus has already bound the ultimate strong man, and you now stand in His victory. And when this wilderness chapter closes, you will not just walk into your promised land but will enter fortified.

TOPIC: An Enemy In The Wilderness (3)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Amorites …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

After Israel left Egypt, they expected relief. Freedom. Celebration. Rest. Instead, they entered the wilderness. But wilderness was not punishment; it was rather preparation. Egypt was out of them physically, but Egypt still had to come out of them mentally. Slavery had shaped their thinking and dependence had shaped their habits. And just when they were adjusting to desert life, learning to trust manna instead of Egyptian supply chains, the Amorites attacked (Numbers 21).

The enemy attacked not when they were slaves, but when they were transitioning into destiny. That pattern has not changed. In today’s world, the wilderness may look like:

a. The season after graduation but before stable employment
b. The early years of marriage when expectations collide with reality
c. Building a ministry with little visible fruit
d. Launching a business that isn’t yet profitable
e. Recovering from addiction while rebuilding identity
f. Relocating to a new country and starting from scratch

It is the in-between place. You are not in Egypt quite alright, yet not the Promised Land. And strangely, it’s often in that vulnerable transition that the “Amorites” show up.

There's a young Nigerian entrepreneur that left a stable banking job to start a tech startup. He believes God is calling him to build solutions that empower small businesses. He quits Egypt (comfort and salary), but the wilderness begins. Investors say no to him, his savings begin to drop, friends question his decision, even social media comparisons creep in. Then comes the attack: an unexpected lawsuit from a former partner! That lawsuit becomes his Amorite.

However, what looks like destruction forces him to formalize legal structures, strengthen contracts, build financial discipline, and he developed resilience. Three years later, the business is stable, not because it avoided the battle, but because it fought it. The wilderness attack upgraded him from dreamer to leader.

God allows wilderness enemies because without them, you might enter destiny unprepared, you might carry Egypt into Canaan, and you might even collapse under success. The wilderness is not to destroy you, but to empty you of what cannot survive your future. Some of your current battles are not punishment but pruning. And if you waste the wilderness by complaining instead of contending, you delay possession.

TOPIC: An Enemy In The Wilderness (2)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Amorites …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

The Israelites were minding their wilderness experience after leaving Egypt, when the Amorites, led by King Sihon, chose to attack them. Fortunately, God utilised the enemy's efforts to prune His people, and as they emerged victorious, they even claimed the possessions and lands of the Amorites.

"Then Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, as far as the people of Ammon; for the border of the people of Ammon was fortified. So Israel took all these cities, and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon and in all its villages. For Heshbon was the city of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and had taken all his land from his hand as far as the Arnon." Numbers 21:24-26

In Mark 3:27, we see: "Jesus said to them, 'Listen. No one is able to break into a mighty man’s house and steal his property unless he first overpowers the mighty man and ties him up. Then his entire house can be plundered and his possessions taken."

The stronger One is the Lord Jesus. He first defeated satan in the wilderness ordeal before finishing the works on the cross and resurrection. Jesus didn't waste the wilderness experience, but also plundered the helpless kingdom of darkness.

Dear reader, don't waste your wilderness moments, though inconvenient. Ride on the attacks of the enemy to claim possessions and tangible substances that will be with you all your life.

Jesus overcame the enemy in the wilderness by the Word. Saturate yourself with God's word also, and be proactive in speaking the Word during your wilderness moments.

TOPIC: An Enemy In The Wilderness (1)

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Amorites …?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

Following their victory over the Egyptians, the children of Israel embarked on their wilderness experience, where they soon encountered certain wilderness enemies, such as the Amorites (Numbers 21). Their wilderness season was one of purging and formation, where they were meant to be purged of any remaining debris of Egypt still lurking somewhere, and then put in place structures and systems that would upgrade them from a band of nomads to an organised nation-state.

Even while grappling with the difficulties of the wilderness terrain, seemingly strong enemies still came attacking. The enemy's efforts in the wilderness terrain are often utilised as trials and tests of faith meant to get God's children stronger, and there are always rewards awaiting. In the case of the Israelites, after defeating the Amorites in the wilderness, God showcased His power in giving them an inheritance as He helped Israel secured lands east of the Jordan.

Even as believers today, we can't help but pass through our unique wilderness experience at different points in life. The enemy that comes attacking during these unpleasant moments is actually regarded as tests meant to refine you and bring out the best version of yourself before you lay hold of your promised Land. When you overcome, there is an inheritance you will hold on to that will become a tangible substance that can't be taken away from you, irrespective of where you attain in life.

When Jesus was passing through His wilderness experience (Matthew 4), He was attacked with "the lust of the flesh", "The lust of the eyes", and "the pride of life". And after He overcame these enemies in the wilderness, throughout His public ministry, He never struggled with any of such weaknesses that could have tainted His ministry; so much so that He could say: "I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me." (John 14:30).

Dear reader, after departing Egypt and sin, you must be pruned and refined. In your wilderness moments, lean upon God's grace to die once and for all to the lust of the flesh (physical gratification), the lust of the eyes (materialism or coveting), and the pride of life (pride or unholy ambition).

Lord, help me resist the enemies in my wilderness, and grant me the strength to overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. May Your grace refine me and prepare me for my promised land.

TOPIC: Victory Over Foundational And Systematic Slavery And Bondage (3)

Scripture: "According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances." Leviticus 18:3

*Message*

A woman keeps entering abusive relationships because chaos feels familiar, and it mirrors what she grew up seeing. For someone like this, Egypt was not the man, but the pattern. The deliverance she requires includes a sincere healing from the trauma, relearning love, and walking away from what felt “normal”.

It is true that leaving Egypt sometimes feels uncomfortable because bondage can feel familiar.

It is also worth mentioning that in today's professional space, many successful professionals define themselves entirely by their career success. In other words, their worth is measured by their productivity. Then, when business fails or they lose their job, they spiral into depression. For those in this category, Egypt includes their performance-based identity, approval addiction, and fear of insignificance.

If you are a professional in the corporate space, always retain the consciousness that Christ has already given you an identity, and Egypt’s culture should not define you. To get fully delivered from the strongholds of Egypt, you must redefine your worth beyond achievement, relearn rest, and untangle identity from titles

Dear reader, don't forget that the sinful nature we inherited placed us in Egypt. Egypt = Sin nature + cultural programming + inherited dysfunction. Pharaoh = Systems that profit from your captivity. Red Sea = The decisive moment of obedience. Wilderness = The process of transformation. Promised Land = Maturity and dominion

Jesus not only forgives sin, but He also broke Pharaoh’s authority. On your part, you must walk out of Egypt, refuse its culture, and reject its mindset

So, let us end this conversation by asking, What is your personal Egypt? What mindset feels “normal” but is actually bondage? Are you still emotionally attached to what enslaved you? Don't simply testify to past breakthroughs while you panic at present battles.

TOPIC: Victory Over Foundational And Systematic Slavery And Bondage (2)

*Message*

Sometimes spiritual immaturity is not ignorance of God’s power, but it is forgetfulness. Today, many believers don’t struggle because God has not delivered them, but because they don’t recognize the new forms of “Egypt.” Spiritual warfare today does not always look like visible idols or physical chains. It often looks like addiction disguised as “normal behavior”, anxiety disguised as “ambition”, toxic culture disguised as “freedom”, generational dysfunction disguised as “that’s how our family is”, etc.

Spiritual maturity means knowing Christ has won the victory, recognizing the patterns of bondage, and intentionally walking out of them

There was a young man who grew up in a family where their mindset was “People like us don’t succeed", “Money is evil", “Education doesn’t change anything”, etc. However, at some point, he became a believer, started hearing sermons about prosperity and purpose, but deep down, his mind is still Egyptian. So, even when opportunities come, he self-sabotages. For him, the Egypt he was battling was mental conditioning inherited over generations.

For his deliverance, God's power kept opening doors for him, and on his part, he kept renewing his mind and stepping beyond the belief system of his upbringing. He had to leave Egypt internally.

Let's also talk about a teenager growing up in the digital era where pornography is normalized. In fact, friends joke about it and social media feeds it. However, by adulthood, it has become a hidden stronghold. Along the lines, he got saved and started praying. Even as he cries out, Egypt still whispers “Everyone does it”, “You can’t stop, this is who you are.”

While God’s power is available, he must faithfully play his roles, like changing habits, deleting access, seeking accountability, etc.

Finally, you must ensure never to allow bondage become your identity. Remember that Israel cried to go back to Egypt in the wilderness because freedom requires responsibility. Many today pray for freedom quite alright, but fear the discipline that freedom requires

TOPIC: Victory Over Foundational And Systematic Slavery And Bondage

Scripture: "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians…?” — Judges 10:11–12

*Message*

Amongst others, spiritual maturity also encompasses being deeply rooted in the affairs of spiritual warfare. Believers should have perfect realisation of the victory Christ perfected after His resurrection that made us more than conquerors, and we should also understand the operations of the enemy. In Judges chapter 10 and verses 11 and 12, the LORD highlighted the enemies He delivered His children from, thereby exposing the operations of the enemy.

"So the Lord said to the children of Israel, “Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines? Also the Sidonians and Amalekites and Maonites oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hand." Judges 10:11-12

Over the next couple of days, we will explore what each enemy-nation represents and how believers today should exercise wisdom and dominion over their operations, starting with "the Egyptians."

Egypt represents foundational, systematic slavery and bondage. The victory of Israel over the Egyptians represents deliverance from foundational, systematic slavery and bondage (Exodus 12-14). Deliverance and victory over Egypt is only possible via a combination of efforts from God and the human in bondage. God's contribution is extending His hands of power (Egypt is stubborn and will insist on holding its captives in captivity). On the part of the human in bondage, he or she must decide and indeed take steps out of the boundaries of Egypt, including its culture and beliefs.

The sinful nature we inherited from Adam and Eve automatically placed us in Egypt, characterized by bondage under sin, satan and death. Fortunately, God expressed His hands of power even again by raising Jesus from the grave and by faith in Him, anyone and everyone can be translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God, characterized by freedom, peace, love, joy in the Holy Ghost, etc.

Today, many believers don’t struggle because God has not delivered them, but they struggle because they don’t recognize the new forms of “Egypt.” Egypt was not just a place but a system. It was economic control, psychological conditioning, cultural programming, identity suppression, etc. Unlike the Israelites who lived in Egypt for over 400 years where bondage became normal, you must never settle for such.

TOPIC: Complete Victory Over Strong Enemies

Scripture: "So the Lord said to the children of Israel, “Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines? Also the Sidonians and Amalekites and Maonites oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hand." Judges 10:11-12

*Message*

In our focus scripture for today, we see how God listed seven nations to highlight His consistent faithfulness in delivering the children of Israel despite their repeated idolatry and disobedience. Indeed, historically, God has been faithful in delivering His people from diverse, powerful oppressors, ranging from major empires to local enemies around.

Now, it is important we know that the nations listed represent various, persistent, and surrounding threats over different historical periods, from the time of the Exodus to the era of the Judges. Nevertheless, they all have similar objectives, which is to destroy or oppress Israel. But they all kept failing because despite Israel's ingratitude, God remained faithful and true to His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The listing of seven nations signifies "perfect grace" (which is what the number 7 symbolise) from God in response to their cries, contrasted against Israel’s complete turn toward the idolatry of those same nations.

The first enemy-nation highlighted was the Egyptians (Exodus 12-14), representing deliverance from foundational, systematic slavery and bondage. It was a statement of God’s power over the greatest world power of the time. Then we see the Amorites (Numbers 21), an enemy encountered in the wilderness. God showcased His power in giving them inheritance as He helped Israel secured lands east of the Jordan.

The third enemy-nation highlighted was the Ammonites (Judges 3, 10), who were ironically relatives of Israel (descendants of Lot) but frequently joined others to oppress Israel. They represented internal, familial betrayal and harassment (but God still gave them victory). Then comes the Philistines (Judges 3), a representation of coastal and technologically superior foe that was a constant major source of oppression for Israel. Even with their superior technologies, they keep falling before the God of Israel.

Next were the Sidonians (Judges 1, 3), who were Phoenician dwellers in the north. These were associated with the worship of Baal and Astarte, representing the corrupting influence of Canaanite idolatry. Then also the Amalekites (Exodus 17, Judges 3, 6) that represented persistent, nomadic raiders who attacked Israel immediately after the Exodus and continued to plague them.

Finally, the Maonites (Judges 10) were identified likely as the Meunites or an Arabian people (possibly related to Midianites) from the southern wilderness, representing regional, predatory threats.

In all, God gave them victory upon victory, til they started deviating from His standards and were embracing corrupt cultures. As long as we remain within the safety circles of the Lord, we remain more than conquerors.

TOPIC: What Trials And Temptations Could Look Like Today (2)

Scripture: "And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!” Judges 10:10

*Message*

There was a particular Christian content creator who launched a project online. Unfortunately, the project flopped, characterized by low engagement, criticism, and mockery. Now, that humiliation could either be allowed to crush his identity or refine his character. That period was a time of trial that exposed whether his identity was in applause or in God. Remember, like other trials, it was external pressure quite alright, but the end goal was internal strengthening.

Temptation, on the other hand, is desire pulling you toward compromise. It doesn’t start on the outside but starts in the heart. Let's talk about a young woman in ministry who started receiving attention from someone outside her relationship. Nothing physical happens at first, but she entertains the messages and keeps enjoying the affirmation, and keeps responding. Ironically, she was saying, “God is testing me.” But that is plain ignorance! God is not testing anyone with flirtation; it was her unguarded desire for validation that is leading her.

That is temptation and not a test of faith brought by God. James 1:14 makes it clear that temptation is internal. This is one of the reasons spiritual maturity is key, so we grow in discernment. Inability to discern will yield confusion and more problems.

That is why when some people are in moments of trials meant to refine then, they are busy resisting what God is using to grow them. On the other hand, some find themselves enduring what they should kill, like saying “This lust is just my cross to bear.” No! It is your flesh to crucify!

In previous generations, temptation required proximity. Today, however, temptation lives in your pocket. Your phone can be both a trial (online bullying) or a temptation (private indulgence). Discernment is key. But always remember that while God uses trials to strengthen your faith, the enemy uses temptation to weaken your obedience. Your responsibility is to respond correctly to each.

Endure what is refining you and resist what is seducing you.

*Message*

We live in a very dynamic and ever evolving world today, characterized by layoffs, social media pressure, sexualized content, online gambling, and private struggles hidden behind screens. We have also discovered that many Christians mislabel what they are experiencing. Mislabeling then leads to mismanaging.

For instance, some people are rebuking what they should endure, while others are enduring what they should resist. The Bible informs us to endure trials but resist temptations.

There is a young man named Bart who was working in fintech in Lagos, Nigeria. Unfortunately, the company downsized unexpectedly, and he lost his job without warning. Bart prayed, fasted, applied everywhere, all to no avail. After some months, he began asking questions like “Did I do something wrong?” “Is God punishing me?”

However, over time, Bart developed discipline, started a small consulting gig, built resilience, and deepened his prayer life. Two years later, he says losing that job matured him spiritually and professionally. That was a trial that tested his faith and produced endurance. While Bart did not cause it nor could he control it, God used it.

On the other hand, let's consider the incident of a married Christian man who started watching explicit content late at night. But this man kept saying “The devil is attacking me.” “It’s spiritual warfare.” But with his own hands, he keeps clicking, searching, and keeps feeding desire. Remember, the algorithm did not force him. The seed was just already in the heart. This is temptation and not trial.

The issue is that treating temptation like a trial leads to passive spirituality. This is so because while trials are meant to be endured, temptation must be resisted.

TOPIC: Love, Lust, And Valentine's Day

Scripture: "Jesus said to him, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment" Matthew 22: 37, 38

*Message*

Valentine's Day is usually deemed a day of love in different parts of the world. But considering the carnality a lot of folks have attached to the remarkable day, it is always necessary to have conversations revolving around separating love and lust.

In the Bible, we saw a strong man, Samson, who was raised by God as a Deliverer of his people. Unfortunately, he was drawn by lust to a dangerous woman whom he thought he loved and ended up destroying his glorious destiny on the lap of an enemy whom he thought loved him (Judges chapters 13 - 16).

God is Love, and since we were created in His image and likeness, it follows that we are also creatures of love, created to love and receive love. We all have the innate desire to love (to give and show love to others), as well as to crave to receive love from others (to be shown love in return). This is a characteristic of a normal person created in God's image and likeness.

However, the error of many lies with where they go to seek love, and what they fall in love with. Hence, many are in problem today because they fall in love with dangerous persons and things that were designed by the evil devil to carry out his evil mission - to steal, to kill and destroy (John 10:10).

Problem arises when you fail to channel your love to the right One - the True Lover. You are configured to love God your Creator first and above any other, and to receive love from Him above anything else. When you are saturated with God's Love and you find pure fulfillment inside of Him alone, it guides how you give love to those around you, and you are directed to like only the things He permits (which won't be harmful to you)

You can explore love inside of God (which is what you are destined to do) through faith in Jesus Christ. As you embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, He sends a tangible Lover to your life - the Holy Spirit. As you grow in love with Him, He empowers you to keep attending to the business of love in the right way.

Stop seeking pleasure from sinful and harmful persons and places and things. They are polluted counterfeits of the original thing. The original thing is that you enjoy pure pleasure in your relationship with the Lord Jesus. I'm inviting you into this peaceful life, as you surrender your life to Jesus today.

TOPIC: What To Do With Your Body

Scripture: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1

*Message*

Dear reader, you must know that what you do with your body is part of your worship to God. As a human, you were created to worship God with all of your being - spirit and soul and body. This is when you can experience the true bliss of destiny actualization.

However, it must be noted that the flesh (the fallen nature of man) finds it easy to latch upon your unregenerated body to push you against God and the things of the Spirit that are actually meant for your own good.

When you embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior, your human spirit contacts eternal life and becomes regenerated. Your spirit is led by the Holy Spirit, and you must do all it takes to ensure your body (and your soul) subscribed to the rulership of your spirit.

Our focus scripture informs us about the importance of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice on the altar of God's worship, where you intentionally mortify your body to only serve the purposes of God every single day, giving Him pleasure in all you do.

Dear reader, when you notice any imperfection in your body (immorality, evil desire, covetousness, etc), what you do is to be proactive in getting such mortified by getting it starved. Don't allow it to grow into a monster. Take it to the altar of slaughter and let God help you.

TOPIC: How Christians Should Respond To Trials And Temptations

Scripture: “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

*Message*

In our previous study, we have established the fact that a trial is a testing of our faith, and trials typically come in the form of an outside force beyond one’s control. On the other hand, temptation emanates from within, and a person is only tempted with that which is individually tempting to them.

We have learnt that a moment of trial is one used by God for the growth of the believer, and to draw us closer to Him. James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

While moments of trials are usually unpleasant and uncomfortable, we should be girded with hope, trusting that God's word remains true and that it will end in good and praise. We should set our hearts on the truth of God utilising the opportunity to refine us to become better versions of ourselves, a pruning that will upgrade us in divine productivity. Let's count it all joy, as trials are opportunities to glorify God.

On the other hand, Scripture uses one word over and over again when telling believers how to respond to temptation. Flee! For instance, 2 Timothy 2:22 - "So flee youthful passions”. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says “flee from sexual immorality”. There are many more warnings to flee! When you see temptation emerging, do nothing else but flee!

If a believer falls into temptation, they can always come to the Lord in repentance. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9).

Finally, always go to God with your trials and temptations, and He will guide you best.

TOPIC: Trials Versus Temptations

*Message*

An important element of Christian life is to have the capability to discern between moments of trials versus moments of temptation. This is important because it can guide us in our quest to follow God’s will. Indeed, there is a distinct difference between a trial and a temptation, even if they may feel the same at times.

Let's begin by making some comments on trials. Remember, in James 1:2-3, the Bible says, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” Hence, this has granted us one of the most concise definitions of a trial. Scripturally, a trial is a testing of our faith.

A moment of trial is one used by God for the growth of the believer, and to draw us closer to Him. It is also necessary to note that while trials may come in different forms, they typically come in the form of an outside force beyond one’s control. For instance, when a person loses their job, or their property to a fire accident, or similar misfortunes that invites bad moments in life.

On the other hand, temptation emanates from within. A person is only tempted with that which is individually tempting to them. There are people struggling with lust, while some others struggle with lying and so on. A person is tempted based on their internal desires. “But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire." (James 1:14).

Now, while God can allow trials to come upon a believer, with the intent of utilising the moment to refine and prune the person to become better versions of themselves, God is never the author of temptations. “Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one” (James 1:13).

We see a man like Job who passed through some trials, which became the test of his faith, and his situation showcased the external nature of trials. On the other hand, King David was led into temptation by his desires, when he allowed lust to saturate his heart when he sighted Bathsheba bathing. God was rightly involved during Job's test of faith, but the Holy God has nothing to do with David’s entanglement with temptation and sin.

TOPIC: Temptations Can't But Come

*Message*

Dear believer, temptations can't but come. When you are rising, temptations can't but come! Have you considered a man like Joseph? When he was rising in Potiphar's house, gaining favor and responsibility, temptation came knocking, courtesy of Potiphar's wife. Yet, Joseph chose integrity over instant gratification. He knew that to compromise would be to sin against God. We too will face temptations as we rise, but let's stand firm on God's Word, trusting that He will surely bring us through.

Dear reader, when you are lonely, temptations can't but come. In a time of loneliness, David was lazing around his roof when temptation crept in through Bathsheba. One wrong choice led to a messy situation. Beware! In a time of loneliness, it is wisdom to turn to God to fill the void and guide us away from temptation. Choose to seek comfort in Him, not the fleeting pleasures of this world.

Dear reader, when you are tired, temptations can't but come. Look at Elijah, exhausted after his win on Mount Carmel. Fleeing Jezebel, he let weariness cloud his judgment. Temptation crept in, in the form of discouragement, fear, and wanting to quit. But God met him in that weakness, providing rest and renewal.

Dear reader, when you are successful, temptations can't but come. Look at Solomon, blessed with wisdom and wealth, but success led to complacency. He let his guard down, and temptation crept in through his love for foreign wives and idols. When you get successful, stay humble and keep your focus on God, and not let achievements lead you astray. Prioritize character over accolades and remain steadfast in your devotion to Him.

Dear reader, when you are unnoticed, temptations can't but come. Look at Haman, craving recognition and respect. When Mordecai didn't acknowledge him, temptation fueled his revenge plot. The truth is that seeking validation from others can lead to darkness. Instead, let's focus on pleasing God, who sees the unseen. He notices us, even when others don't.

Lord, help me to find my worth in You, not in people's opinions. Give me the strength to resist temptations that come when I'm rising, when I'm lonely, when I'm tired, when I'm successful, and I'm unnoticed.

TOPIC: Know God And Know His Ways

*Message*

The Bible says the next generation of Israel “did not know the Lord nor the works He had done.” This was part of the foundational issues as they set out to run their race in the new season they possessed. They inherited religion, but not revelation.

Bringing this to today's generation, it is apparent that many believers know church language but lack spiritual understanding. They know worship songs, Christian slang, Church culture, trends in the fold, etc. However, many lacked spiritual discipline, temptation strategies, the cost of obedience, the price of compromise, etc.

There is a university student who was active in fellowship and known as a “good Christian.” But during exams, he joined others in cheating. When asked why, his response was “I didn’t want to fail. God knows my situation.” Such person knew God’s name, but not God’s ways.

So, in the book of Judges, we see how Israel fell because they lacked substance. On the contrary, in the Gospels, we see how Jesus overcame temptation because He had substance. When Satan tempted Jesus, He didn’t argue emotionally but responded scripturally “It is written…”

Dear reader, substance is what you build in secret. Talk about your prayer life, word knowledge, self-discipline, spiritual awareness, character, and everything similar. Don't be part of a noisy superficial generation that prioritise outward religiosity over true substance.

We were told about a Christian entrepreneur who was offered a deal that would make him millions but involved bribery and illegal practices. But shockingly, he refused. When asked why, his response was divine. He said, “I have spent too many years building my conscience to destroy it in one day.”

That is substance. Let's build substance! Let's know God, and let's know the ways of God!

TOPIC: Is This Relatable?

*Message*

In a way, the Joshua generation’s success became the next generation’s weakness. So, while the Joshua generation fought battles, the next generation enjoyed victories. However, comfort produced carelessness. Similarly, today’s generation enjoys technology, freedom, information, and opportunities that previous generations never had. But comfort has created vulnerability.

Many young believers today struggle with numerous distractions. Talk about endless scrolling, netflix addiction, gaming obsession, online gambling, secret chats, pornography, etc. Indeed, none of these started as “big sins.” They started as harmless entertainment but gradually replaced prayer, discipline, focus, and spiritual hunger.

Like Israel, many believers today didn’t reject God openly, but hey simply replaced Him quietly.

Temptation is not always obvious sin, but anything that pushes you to choose immediate gratification over God’s standards. It can be money without integrity, fame without character, pleasure without discipline, success without obedience, relationships without boundaries, and even convenience without conscience

The story has been told of a talented worship leader who was admired in church. Invitations to minister increased, and so did attention from people, especially admirers of the opposite sex. Then, what started as innocent conversations gradually turned into emotional attachments. The man later admitted that he didn’t fall suddenly but drifted slowly.

Temptation rarely attacks violently but often seduces gently. That was how Israel drifted from God to Baal, not suddenly, but gradually.

Dear Father, I pray for discernment and self-control. Help me recognize and resist subtle temptations. I renounce distractions and fleshly desires, and I choose to prioritize You. Thank You for Your grace and guidance, as I receive help to stay focused on Your path.

TOPIC: The Illusion of Spiritual Excitement Without Depth

*Message*

Today, many believers start their faith journey with excitement. They attend conferences, join church programs, share scriptures on social media, and declare bold spiritual goals. But beneath the excitement, many lack spiritual roots.

There is a young man who actively posts Bible verses, Christian quotes, and worship clips online. He was admired as “spiritually serious.” But behind the scenes, he struggled with pornography and secret relationships. When temptation intensified, his public spirituality could not save him because it was not backed by private discipline.

Eventually, he confessed that he loved the image of being spiritual more than the process of becoming spiritual. It mirrors Israel’s story, which is an outward identity without inward substance.

Dear reader, don't make the mistake of thinking Christianity is about inspiration, motivation, and blessings. Scripture reveals that the faith journey is spiritual warfare. Following God is not a party but a calling with eternal consequences. When you choose God, you automatically become a target of temptation because your destiny matters.

There was this young woman who got a prestigious job in a multinational company. She was known for her integrity and faith. But soon, she faced pressure to manipulate figures to impress her boss and secure promotions.She said no initially. But when she saw her colleagues advancing faster, temptation began to whisper “Everyone does it. Just do it once. God understands.”

Eventually, she compromised. The result? She gained promotion but lost peace, credibility, and spiritual confidence. Temptation didn’t come as evil but came as an opportunity.

Every generation inherits something from the one before it. Some inherit wisdom, others inherit opportunities, and some inherit unfinished battles. The generation after Joshua inherited a strong spiritual legacy. They saw the victories of their fathers, enjoyed the peace their leaders fought for, and stood on the foundations they did not build. They began with passion, enthusiasm, and big dreams of greatness. But they lacked depth, discipline, and spiritual substance. Hence, when temptations approached them, they fell like a pack of cards.

Father, I pray for spiritual substance and discipline. Help me go beyond surface-level faith. I renounce hypocrisy and pretence. I want genuine intimacy with You. Thank You, dear Jesus, for Your Word that guides me, even as I'm helped to build depth in my walk with You.

TOPIC: Temptations Must Come

*Message*

The generation that came off the back of the Joshua generation seems to have some similarities with today's generation. They started with excitement at the prospect of building greatness upon the foundations laid by the previous generations. However, they lacked substance, and it manifested in various forms, including their ignorance of temptations as an armour of the enemy.

The Faith journey is not strictly an exciting party, but a spiritual business with eternal connotations. As those who have decided to align with God's side, we must realize what we have signed up for and how the enemy of Light is obsessed with our downfall. That generation of Israel failed to realize this, lest they would have lived more circumspectly, with all carefulness and wisdom.

Such a lifestyle would have easily saved them from the different forms of temptations the enemy is concocting to make them intentionally choose to displease God. You know, temptations are whatever the enemy can utilize to make you intentionally choose to do what you already know displeases God.

Temptation makes you choose that immediate gratification over God's standards and instructions, and it remains a potent tool the enemy still uses to make believers today sin against God and suffer consequences attached to wrong actions. Hence, you should keep moving in the path of faith with a great sense of caution. But most importantly, you should be filled with substance, so that whenever temptation strikes, like Jesus, you will stand tall!

Lord, I pray for discernment and strength to resist temptations. Help me stand firm in Your Word. I renounce the lure of immediate gratification. I choose Your path, in Jesus Name.

TOPIC: Challenges On The Faith Path

Scripture: "And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!” Judges 10:10

*Message*

In the beginning parts of the book of Judges, at the start of the journey, all seems rosy and sweet. The children of Israel, nevertheless, never knew they would eventually collide with challenges that would shake their faith in God along the way. It did happen at different points, and for them, they dumped the God of their fathers for the baals and other dumb idols.

What they failed to understand is the fact that the kingdom of darkness is obsessed with hindering them from becoming all God has destined for them as they stepped into the new season accompanying the death of Joshua. Unknown to them, the devil has always been interested in the lineage of Abraham, understanding that the Seed that will crush his head one day will emanate from Israel (Genesis 3:15).

The children of Israel failed to recognise how the devil doesn't just fold his arms, but is always proactive in planting circumstances and conditions along one's paths, meant to push you into rebellion against God. If a person or people have been inaugurated to the paths of faith, it makes the kingdom of darkness so uncomfortable, and they will keep throwing darts meant to make you succumb to compromises.

As a Christian today, you should not be taken unawares by trials and challenges that test your belief, trust, and commitment to God. The good thing is that these can serve as opportunities for spiritual growth, as seen in the cases of the likes of Job, Abraham, and other faith giants in the bible. A man like Job endured great suffering but maintained integrity and trust in God.

Whenever anything difficult and unpleasant comes your way, from small troubles to major crises, always remember that the Christian can't help but experience such things at different points in life, and you should stick with the grace made available by God to remain a conqueror.

TOPIC: What If You've Veered Off?

Scripture: "And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!” Judges 10:10

*Message*

When the children of Israel emerged into a new season following the death of Joshua, all seemed great in their followership of God and the paths He had channelled. Unfortunately, they soon veered off the design and, as expected, ran into serious troubles (avoidable issues).

Dear reader, you should reflect and cast your thoughts back to all that the Lord designed for you as you entered into the new year, and be sure you are still on track. If you have forsaken the Lord by embracing sin and sinful practices along the way, you must also cry out to Jesus for mercy so you won't get crushed by the accompanying consequences.

However, there are certain Christians who are not dining with sin quite alright, but have veered off the visions and strategies they acquired from the Lord when He commissioned them into the new season. This is trespassing, and it also requires repentance (pausing to get realigned, making it right again with God).

For the Israelites, they suffered so much that it was said: "... that Israel was severely distressed" (Judges 10:9). Deviating from God's perfect Will usually brings discomfort that springs from the innermost parts of an individual. All may be going on smoothly at the surface, but from deep down, there are unexplainable disconnections, signals that you are not attending to the designs God had crafted specifically for you.

When the Israelites repented and cried to the Lord, He didn't ignore them nor forsake them unto destruction, but sent them fresh words and help: "So the Lord said to the children of Israel, “Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines? So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord. And His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel." (Judges 10:11, 16).

Pause, and go meet the Lord again, ensuring you are still on the right track.

Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and fresh direction. I realign with Your plans today. I renounce sin and misaligned priorities. Help me stay on track, Jesus.

TOPIC: The Anointing Equips You For Ministry (2)

Scripture: ""How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." Acts 10:38

*Message*

Every believer today should seek to be heavily saturated by the anointing to be effective and efficient in the execution of the ministry of reconciliation given to us by the Lord. Additionally, we are meant to function as ambassadors for Christ in this fallen world. "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God." (II Corinthians 5:20).

Every real ambassador needs resources to properly represent what they stand for in a foreign or external terrain. Hence, the anointing is a cardinal resource meant to power the ambassadorship of the believer in this world. This is important because the world will antagonise the principles of the kingdom (which you are expected to live by and influence the nations to subscribe to).

But the anointing grants you the boldness to represent Christ and His principles irrespective of where you find yourself. This is true for a man like Peter, who used to be timid. Before the anointing saturated him, he cowardly denied Christ three times. Even a little servant girl made him hide his ambassadorship tag!

But when he was submerged by the anointing, the same man stood boldly for the Lord and His kingdom and won thousands of souls.
"But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words...Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit...And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them." (Acts 2:14, 38, 40-41 NKJV).

TOPIC: The Anointing Equips You For Ministry

*Message*

As New Testament believers, we are meant to do the work of ministry in the various areas the Lord will plant our feet, and we are meant to be engrossed in every good works that will establish the shining of our light and offer glory to God.

Ephesians 4:12 says the saints must be equipped for the work of ministry. Then, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 described the focus of our ministry - "Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."

The anointing equips you for this work of ministry on a grand scale. In Acts 19, Paul asked the disciples at Ephesus if they had received the Holy Spirit when he arrived, and they replied,"No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” (Acts 19:2). This was because those who ministered to them weren't fully equipped with the anointing.

But Paul, an anointed believer, turned the city of Ephesus around, in words and power!

"Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them....This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed." Acts 19:11-12, 17-20

TOPIC: He Modeled Success Also (2)

Scripture: ""How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." Acts 10:38

*Message*

Technically, Jesus ministered under the Old Testament since the New Testament emerged after His death and resurrection. Hebrews 9:16-17 says, "For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives."

Hence, Jesus ministered as a Man anointed by the Holy Spirit. He was baptised in the Holy Ghost to start ministry. "When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” Luke 3:21-22

He was born physically on earth by a direct work of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:25), and the Spirit of God was strongly on Him. "And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him." Luke 4:17-20

The pattern is still the same for us. We must stay glued to the Holy Spirit to anoint us to do the work of the Lord and become all He has destined us to be. If we are going to achieve Jesus' type of success (success that is success indeed, as endorsed by the Father), then we must be glued to the Holy Ghost.

TOPIC: He Modeled Success Also

*Message*

There were numerous religious leadership figures before Jesus began His earthly ministry, and even during His time, there were many religious leaders and teachers in society. However, as soon as He launched into His public ministry, everyone could swiftly identify the uniqueness and awesomeness of His ministry.

Immediately He left the wilderness experience and started declaring the Kingdom everywhere, His ministry exploded despite not having a formal ministry training like the other religious leaders of the time. "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan." Matthew 4:23-25

He started recording great impacts in record time, shaking the spiritual topography of the society independently of the structures in place by the religious leadership and culture.

After a long teaching session with multitudes, it was recorded: "And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes." Matthew 7:28-29

But what was the secret? We have it in Acts 10:38 - "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."

TOPIC: The Anointing (3)

Scripture: "And the Spirit of the Lord began to move upon him at Mahaneh Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol." Judges 13:25 NKJV

*Message*

Many of Jesus' foundational disciples were common folks whose families were not relevant in the most important affairs of society - politically, economically, or religiously. The prominent individuals belonged to the families of Herod, Pilate, High Priest Caiaphas, and notable figures in the Sanhedrin, among others.

In fact, when the leaders were interviewing the likes of Peter and John, it was easy to identify that they were "uneducated and untrained men."

However, the anointing upon them empowered them to shake their world, doing great exploits that the educated and rich societal and religious leaders of their time couldn't do. They rose above the stereotypes, glorifying the Lord.

"Now as they observed the boldness of Peter and John, and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus." Acts 4:13

For eternity, their works keep speaking for them!

As a Christian today, the anointing gives you a lot of advantages anywhere you find yourself. It gives the uniqueness-advantage, placing an abiding distinction upon your life. It abides in you, and you should flourish anywhere you find yourself. You are never disadvantaged. You have the anointing advantage, which can't be purchased with even billions of US dollars. You have this advantage over the richest folks in the world (who are only usually rich in material things), who are unbelievers.

Dear Christian, you carry the anointing. "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him." (I John 2:27).

By the anointing, arise and shine!

TOPIC: The Anointing (2)

Scripture: "And the Spirit of the Lord began to move upon him at Mahaneh Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol." Judges 13:25 NKJV

*Message*

The anointing enables ordinary humans to do extraordinary things, regardless of the limitations that characterize their day. Gender stereotypes, societal stereotypes, etc., couldn't stop the anointed from executing great things.

The anointing removes all manner of barriers. It eradicates title barriers and empowers the willing individual who is ready and eager to partner with the Lord for greatness. For instance, it was the anointing that empowered and elevated Samuel into the Priesthood.

1 Samuel 1:1 revealed that Samuel's father, Elkanah, was from the tribe of Ephraim, not from the tribe of Levi, which was the priestly tribe. However, when the anointing came upon him, everyone submitted to his priestly ministry.

Historically, there are places where women are not allowed to lead, either in religious circles or in societal leadership positions. However, the anointing always breaks those barriers as everyone submits to a solution provider.

Look at the case of Deborah the Prophetess in the Book of Judges. Their ancient society had some elements of patriarchal tendencies. A patriarchal system is a social structure where men hold primary power and authority, often dominating roles in politics, economics, culture, and family life. Men often hold positions of power and decision-making authority. Traditional roles and expectations are often assigned based on gender. Hence, many men don't place high regard on the opinion of women.

However, the anointing upon Deborah set her apart and on high, so that even strong warriors like Barak submitted to her rulership and guidance. Are you unjustly suffering from certain stereotypes? Don't worry! Contend for the anointing!

You may come from a disadvantaged background, and you don't have any meaningful leverage to utilise for destiny actualization. The good thing is that the anointing can transform your life if you choose to interact deeply with it. You become a solution provider irrespective of the field you are operating. A troublesome world will always submit to a solution provider.

I contend for the anointing to break down barriers and stereotypes in my life. I receive the anointing, empowering me to be a solution provider in my field. In Jesus's Name.
