Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(3rd January 2026)* by Sunday-Akanni M. TOPIC: Welcome! O Fresh Season (1) Scripture:“Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, “Who shall be first to go up for us against the Canaanites to fight against them?” Judges 1:1 *Message* The death of Joshua is meant to signify the emergence of a new season for the children of Israel. It's designed by the hands of divinity to represent an entirely fresh season, different from what has always been relatable in time past. Before Joshua himself emerged into his own era, during the era and exploits of Moses the man of God, it seemed as if that was all there could ever be. But after the death of Moses, a new season opened up with the emergence of Joshua, who ended up exhibiting fresh possibilities and exploits, while building on the zenith of the previous season. For instance, it was during Joshua's era that the sun stood still - the very first time such would ever happen. During a battle against the Amorites, Joshua prayed for the sun to stand still, and it did, allowing the Israelites to win the battle (Joshua 10:1-14). Also, the fall of the wall of Jericho by a supernatural technology was recorded as a remarkable exploit in Joshua's time. He and the Israelites marched around the city of Jericho, blew their trumpets, and the walls came tumbling down (Joshua 6). While Moses paved the red sea by the rod of God (Exodus 14), Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan River, and the waters parted just like they did at the Red Sea (Joshua 3-4). The Red Sea parted due to a strong east wind (Exodus 14:21), while the Jordan River's flow was stopped. Hence, when Joshua died, another fresh season was meant to emerge, and the children of Israel belonging to the new era are meant to witness divine possibilities and exploits in fresher measures, building upon the peak set by the era of Joshua. The past year signified the previous era, filled with impressive exploits from the hands of God's vessels all around the world. This new year has ushered in a fresh season, and it's your time, dear reader, to be used by God to exhibit fresh possibilities and exploits that haven't been recorded before in human history. *Prayers/Confessions* Lord, I welcome this fresh season with gratitude and expectation. I ask for Your guidance and empowerment to exhibit new possibilities and exploits that will glorify Your name. Help me to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, Amen. *Further study* Isaiah 43:19; 2 Corinthians 5:17 *1-year Bible Reading Plan* Genesis 7-9; Matthew 3 |
Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(2nd January 2026)* by Sunday-Akanni M. TOPIC: Possess What's Rightly Yours Scripture:“Therefore you shall keep every commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land which you cross over to possess.” Deuteronomy 11:8 *Message* This is the year to triumphantly walk into your land of destiny and possess all that God has prepared for you from eternity. As you cross into this new season, remember that it’s no longer business as usual. You are entering with grace to claim what has been patiently awaiting your arrival. You are no longer distracted from what truly matters, particularly the things pertaining to your destiny. You will no longer major in the minor but rise to become all God has destined you to be—for this is your time and season! What promises have you received from heaven in times past? The time is now ripe to claim them! Be ready to possess every single one. This is God's appointed time for you to begin experiencing the realities of your promised inheritance. No more delays! Time is short, and you must accomplish what needs to be done. With each passing year, our lifespan diminishes, and we draw closer to the rapture, when all things will come to an end. This year, decide to use time wisely and avoid wasting even a moment. When the Lord, through Moses, instructed His people to "go in and possess the land," the aim was to stir them to complete their conquest fully and enjoy the benefits of the land. The land was a part of their destiny, promised long ago. Living outside of it would have meant settling for smallness. This year, you too must complete your conquest and possess your possessions. *Prayers/Confessions* In the name of Jesus, this is the year I possess my promised land and enjoy the full benefits of the inheritance God has prepared for me. *Further study* Matthew 25:29 *1-year Bible Reading Plan* Genesis 4-6; Matthew 2 |
Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(1st January 2026)* by Sunday-Akanni M. TOPIC: Appreciating God For The Gift Of A New Year Scripture: "You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance." Psalms65:11 *Message* Start the journey of the new cycle with a heart of gratitude and appreciation to the LORD for the gift of the new year. It is wisdom to saturate the day with praise, raising incense of thanksgiving to water the ground as you proceed triumphantly. It is true that God is worthy to be praised for the gift of 2026, since there are many who were not privileged to see the new year. Indeed, it is by His mercies that we have been able to soar above the waves of 2025 to arrive into a beautiful 2026. While there are numerous things you need the Lord to do for you, it is beautiful to first put in place what the LORD expects from every wise person - an offering of praise and thanksgiving. God is ever good and faithful. He is worthy of our praise, being a gracious King who is benevolent and lovely. As you engage in worship with the offerings of your lips, blessing the Lord with sweet words and sounds, you set yourself up for the numerous blessings He has embedded into different parts of the year. From the beginning to the end, there are numerous goodies God has put in place all through. Different people will sure give different negative projections and bad predictions for the year. Nevertheless, when you start the year sending up praise to the LORD with gratitude, you can be sure of receiving a constant downpour of pleasantness to make you invincible and immovable. *Prayers/Confessions* Lord, I thank You for the gift of a new year! I praise You for Your goodness and mercies that brought me to this moment. I bless You for the plans You have for me in 2026. Help me focus on You and receive the blessings You've prepared. *Further study* Psalms 34:1 *1-year Bible Reading Plan* Genesis 1-3; Matthew 1 |
Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(31st December 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: End The Year With Praise Scripture: "You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance." Psalms65:11 *Message* Reflect upon the goodness of God for all He has done for you all through the year. It doesn't matter how the year went and whatever happened in between, one thing is sure - God is good. If you will count your blessings one by one, you will be amazed by all God has done. Hallelujah! You remember how God has kept you and your family safe all through the year. God has been proactive guarding you for free and making sure nothing will go wrong with you. He who keeps His children safe never sleeps nor slumbers. Many things have swept a lot away at different parts of the year, but you are still standing good and strong. Praise the LORD! Despite the tough economic climate in different parts of the world, God ensures you never go helplessly hungry. He keeps providing for you and you are continually refreshed. The Psalmist, in an offering of sweet praises to the LORD, declared: "You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance." Psalms 65:11 So, before the dawn of 2026, take time to praise the Lord for a superb 2025. He alone is worthy of our praise. Indeed, God's goodness looks good on us! *Prayer* Praise the LORD for His abundant goodness over you in 2025 *Further Reading* Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(30th December 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: Making An Early Resolve For Holiness In 2026 Scripture: "Instead, shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you. For Scripture says: “You are to be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16 *Message* The new year is pregnant with a lot of blessings for God's children. However, you must retain a particular posture to be eligible for a handful of these blessings - the posture of saints whose lifestyle is inseparable from holiness. Therefore, as you approach the new year, one of the best things you will do is to make an early resolve to give great priority to holiness in your journey throughout the year. In your resolutions, as you decide to latch upon the ever-constant help of the Holy Spirit (Who is always available and eager to help you live holy in God's perfect Will), you must also brace yourself to be proactive in your duties. Hence, you must firmly decide to avoid all lustful entities and appearances all through the year. You should be prayerfully watchful of those whose lifestyle (dressing, conversations, etc) can get you infested with lust. You should ensure you don't give room for the inordinate cravings of the flesh and should avoid dirty things that erupt lustful desires and thoughts (dirty magazines, books, movies, music, etc). All through the year, you should never be found in places with an immoral atmosphere (clubs, wild parties, and so on) too. Avoid situations that breed lust (such as intimate contact with sensitive parts of members of the opposite gender, and so on). God wants you to be blameless and perfect all through 2026, and you must be faithful to a lifestyle of purity and holiness. You will be easily helped to maintain an intimate relationship with the LORD, with eternity in view. *Prayers/Confessions* Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive help to be perfect as You are. *Further Reading* For this reason, “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will embrace you. 2 Corinthians 6:17 |
Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(29th December 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: The Tough Man Who Persevere Scripture: "Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:11 *Message* When making attempts to fight believers, one of the core things the devil aims for is to make us doubt God's word and promises. This was the strategy he used in taking our first parents out of God's Will, and it's something the kingdom of darkness have mastered over time. Listen, it doesn't matter what you are currently experiencing, you must decide to never doubt God's word over you. In Jeremiah 29:11, the LORD declared: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." You see, when you are in the midst of an unpleasant circumstance that is not related to the glorious future God has promised, the devil will try to take your gaze away from God's promises of a successful future and make you focus more on the issues of today. The problem is, you will turn the current situation into an idol, and you will gradually begin to doubt what God has said. But you see the man Job, he was a pretty tough man we should learn some things from. He was doing very great, basking in the blessings the Lord had granted him. However, there was a change of season, and he started experiencing hardness. When satan introduced unpleasant occurrences to Job, those things only pushed him closer to God rather than taking him away from his Maker. 'In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.' (Job 2:10). Job did not doubt the goodness of God, but even took advantage of those difficult times by riding upon their wings to become a more spiritual person. *Prayers/Confessions* Lord, I choose to trust Your word and promises over my current situation. Help me focus on Your plans for peace and hope, not on problems. Like Job, I won't doubt Your goodness; I'll draw closer to You in tough times. *Further Reading* By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *(28th December 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: Divine Partnership Scripture: "God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us. Hebrews11:40 *Message* Before you came into the scene as a warrior on God's side, there have been millions of others before you, carrying the banner of God at different dispensations of human history. The saints we read of in the bible saw something glorious that pertains to our own day, through the instrumentality of the Prophetic. However, in God's infinite wisdom, both they and we need one another to enter into the fullness of what God has provided. Hence, the Saints of old, whose spirits are still very much active, are eager to partner with us for our collective destiny fulfilment on this part of God's kingdom. We are talking about the likes of Abraham, Noah, Moses, David, Elijah, Deborah, Joshua, Daniel, John the Baptist, Peter, Paul, John the Beloved, etc. These folks, in their own time, partnered willingly with the Lord to birth various divine possibilities on the earth realm. This is our time, and we too must make a resolve to willingly partner with the Lord to birth whatever it is He has appointed for this season in our own day! One of the provisions He has made available is the possibility of a divine partnership between us and the ancient saints who have gone before us on the path of faith. The Lord would have us succeed with precision and accuracy. Let the Holy Spirit introduce you to ancient saints who are eager to partner with you based on the similarity of their assignment and yours. As they subdued kingdoms and shut the mouths of lions, you will learn ancient strategies that can't be disclosed in any human classroom. *Prayers/Confessions* Help me, dear Lord, to take advantage of all You've made available to help me fulfil destiny in my generation. *Further Reading* These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *27th December, 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: The Living Bread Good For Your Soul Scripture: "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” John6:33 *Message* In John chapter 6, Jesus was making some statements that were way above the religious knowledge of the Jews of the day. For instance, in verse 35, "And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.". These folks, whose hearts were set on carnal things, were thus offended at Him. Now, your mind is a compartment of your soul, and it is a very powerful part of you. One of the peculiar things about the mind is that it can't be empty - it must be occupied and filled. Hence, you have two options. On one hand, you can permit the corrupt nature of the flesh and society to fill your soul with all kinds of dirty baggage. On the other hand, you can (and should) plug yourself into a divine economy where you permit the Word of God, the Living Bread to feed your spirit, nourishing your soul in the process with life. God's word can be life to your soul, empowering your mind, thoughts and imagination towards becoming all God has destined you to be. Also, if you want to prevent the dirty baggage from an imperfect world from corrupting and weakening your soul, then you should always fill it with the Word of God. Equip yourself with the Word of God, and you will be empowered to not fulfill the desires of the flesh nor go the paths of the course of this world. It was David who said: "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee" (Psalm 119:11). *Prayers/Confessions* Ask for grace to always eat the Living Bread of God's word without distractions. *Further Reading* And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *26th December, 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: Being Grateful To God For The Blessings Of Christmas Scripture: "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. I Timothy 3:16 *Message* This beautiful season of Christmas came about on the platform of certain divine actions by the Godhead. John 3:16 beautifully states: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" It's a tough decision to give one's beloved son as a sacrifice for undeserving folks. So, we are eternally grateful to YAHWEH for giving us Jesus, Who is the reason for the beautiful season. Christmas is all about Him. And it is worth noting that Jesus wasn't forced to come down here to offer His life as a sacrifice to reunite mankind back to God - pure love brought Him here. As a human, how would you feel if you were asked to become an ant and start living with ants? This is what it's like for Jesus (the Immortal KING of Eternity) to come down here to live with humans. But guess what? Jesus did this willingly because He loves you and me dearly. All divine parts of the Godhead were very proactive in making the beautiful story of Christmas a reality, including the Holy Spirit. Don't forget when the Angel Gabriel was discussing with Mary, he told her "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:35). So, the Holy Spirit is also one of the Heroes Of Christmas. Hence, we must be eternally grateful to the LORD for Christmas. *Prayers/Confessions* Take time to bless the LORD for the salvation of your soul *Further Reading* For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; [10] and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *25th December, 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: Never Forget The True Purpose Of Christmas Scripture: "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke2:11 *Message* Each year, the 25th day of December won't stop being a very significant day all around the world. It is the celebration of Christmas. It is the birth of Jesus Christ. In almost every single place in the world, there are people celebrating on this day. However, we must admit that many don't even know the major reason for the season in the first place. A lot of people are ignorant of the reason Jesus Christ came to the earth in the first place. This is why you see some folks "celebrating" Christmas in sinful and harmful ways, indulging in wild parties, sexual immorality, alcohol and hard drugs, etc. On the other hand, Christmas to several others simply revolves around Santa and gifts, taking the Object of Christmas (Jesus Christ) out of the scene entirely. But as we reflect on the purpose of Christmas, this should be a season to gratefully reflect on the amazing things of God in Christ Jesus. Remember, from the beginning, God originally created the earth to be an extension of Heaven, and He made humans to be perfect creatures to take care of everything He made. He desires (and enjoys) an intimate relationship with humans, entrusting the earth into the hands of mankind. Then came man's disobedience, and the beginning of receiving God's love on a very gracious level. God's love attained a zenith in Christ Jesus, as He decided to come down to offer His Own Life to redeem mankind back to Himself. He suffered and died on the cross of Calvary to get us back into His perfect Will. Christmas is a remembrance that in Christ Jesus, we have recovered all that was stolen by the devil, and we now have the authority to wield true dominion over creation - including dominion over sin, death, darkness, hell, poverty, sickness, and anything negative. Merry Christmas! *Prayers/Confessions* Ask that the LORD utilize this Christmas celebration to introduce Himself to many sinners around the world on a personal level. *Further Reading* Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them. Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *24th December, 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: No Beauty Without Christmas Scripture: "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14 *Message* Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the Redeemer and Savior of mankind. Without Jesus coming to the earth, the world would remain in a dark and brutal state. Remember, after Lucifer, who became satan, was condemned to the earth realm following his attempts to rebel against God, it was recorded that: "The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep." Genesis 1:2 But it also revealed that: "The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters", which is proof that God didn't ignore the world even in its unworthy state. Hence, God brought a solution to make right the wrong, "Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light." Genesis 1:3 You see what happened there? GOD introduced the Word to make things beautiful again! Now, Jesus is eternally known as the Word of God (John 1), and we can see that He has an expertise in making ugly terrible situations beautiful again. So, after the sin of Adam and Eve (our first human parents in Eden), another ugly situation arose, plunging mankind into gross darkness, filled with all manner of evil and vices. But through Jesus Christ, all things became beautiful again: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. [17] For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17 So, a world without Christmas meant humanity would be forever doomed and would be slaves to sin, death, hell, satan, poverty, sickness, and other negative things. But, Hallelujah! Jesus gave the victory! Are you experiencing some ugly and terrible situations in your life, or someone close to you? Introduce Jesus, He has expertise in turning unpleasant stuff into beautiful experiences! If you are yet to submit to the Lordship of Jesus, this season is the best time to do so. Simply pray: "LORD JESUS, I believe in my heart that You died for me and You raised on the third day for my justification. And so I confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and Savior. From today, I belong to the family of God. Thank You for giving me eternal life." *Prayers/Confessions* I'm alive, because of Christ Jesus! I'm beautiful, and everything about me is beautiful, because of what the Lord Jesus has done for me! Hallelujah! *Further Reading* For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke19:10 |
Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *23rd December, 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: Don't Be Intimidated, They Need You Too (3) Scripture: ""Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul." - Acts 16:14 NKJV *Message* The major point we have been driven at is the fact that Lydia had everything money could buy in her world— yet she still needed Christ, and even today, we see the same reality. In different parts of the world, there are numerous celebrities battling depression away from the limelight and admiration from their numerous fans. There are a lot of entrepreneurs burning out, in spite of their great wealth and networth. They are leaders who command great followership but still sorrowful in their personal spaces. We can even talk about the numerous influencers dominating our social spaces but are still searching for meaning. Indeed, only Jesus provides salvation, true purpose and eternal life. These are precious divine tokens that can't be bought and obtain by money and societal status. Every human needs these, and only Jesus can offer them. If you are a successful person reading this right now, suffering silently away from the limelight, I make bold to tell you that only Jesus can help you. Now, it is necessary to also emphasizes that transformation Is God’s Responsibility. Remember, Paul spoke, God opened the heart. This is crucial in today’s culture of debates, arguments, and online shouting. You are not called to force conviction. You should only faithfully present truth. The truth is, no social status, career achievement, or wealth level can resist God when He chooses to act. So, Lydia reminds us that the gospel is for everyone, including the accomplished and influential and God can open any heart, anywhere, at any time. Our role is obedience, not results You may be speaking to a modern Lydia today, someone successful, polished, respected. Don’t withhold truth because of assumptions. Speak. God opens hearts. Lives are transformed. *Prayers/Confessions* Heavenly Father, I thank You for the example of Lydia, a successful merchant who used her resources and influence to support the gospel. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. Then when the gospel was presented to her (not with condemnation, but truth), her heart became opened by God and not by persuasion. Such high-worth individual can use their resources, influence, and platform globally, reminding us how Lydia immediately opened her home and funded gospel work. Wealth can not block God. God simply waits for a yielded heart. In different parts of the world today, there are numerous testimonies of bankers, oil and gas executives, fintech founders, and real estate developers encountering Christ. This happened not just because someone targeted them as “lost,” but because someone faithfully spoke. In Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, several CEOs openly testify that the had money, had networks, had achievement, but lacked peace, eternal purpose, and spiritual grounding. Just like Lydia, their conversion was a product of divine opening and not emotional desperation. For believers today, it is necessary that we should not prejudge who needs the Gospel. Remember that Paul did not avoid Lydia because she was wealthy, educated, or influential. Many believers today mistakenly think “She’s too successful to need Jesus”, “He’s too educated to listen”, "They’re too rich to care”, etc. Fortunately, Acts 16 destroys that mindset. *Prayers/Confessions* Heavenly Father, I thank You for the example of Lydia, a successful merchant who used her resources and influence to support the gospel. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul." - Acts 16:14 NKJV *Message* Lydia was not a desperate woman looking for a breakthrough. She was a top-tier entrepreneur in the luxury textile industry. You should know that purple cloth in the ancient world was the equivalent of today’s high fashion, luxury brands, or elite tech enterprises. She was financially stable, influential, and respected. In modern terms, Lydia could have been: - A fashion brand founder supplying luxury houses - A successful tech entrepreneur with international clients - A corporate executive or investor living comfortably Yet Scripture shows us that success did not eliminate her need for God. Let us consider the story of Francis Collins, former Director of the U.S. National Institutes of Health and leader of the Human Genome Project. He was a brilliant scientist, accomplished, globally respected, and intellectually fulfilled. Yet Collins testified that despite professional success, something was missing. It was through a simple conversation with a Christian patient—not an argument, not pressure—that his heart began to open. Later, he would say that faith answered questions success and intellect never could. Just like Lydia, God opened his heart through ordinary conversation. Dear reader, don't undermine what God can use you to accomplish with a highly celebrated member of the society. *Prayers/Confessions* Heavenly Father, I thank You for the example of Lydia, a successful merchant who used her resources and influence to support the gospel. God works in mysterious ways, plus His ways are always higher than ours. Hence, we must always stay connected to Him, accessing His point of view and exploring the mind of Christ we already possess. Do not assume that wealthy or influential people are content. The Lord didn't assume this for everyone of them. Do not assume their smiles mean peace. The Lord could see beyond the veils, and we should, too. You should realise that behind curated images, boardroom confidence, and public success, many are spiritually hungry and quietly searching. Take note that Jesus did not wait for Zacchaeus to repent before entering his house. Grace came first, then transformation followed. And when Zacchaeus changed, it didn’t affect only him. It impacted his household and his community. "Today salvation has come to this house…” It has been observed, from different pages of human history, that when influential people encounter genuine grace, their transformation often multiplies far beyond one life. So, stretch yourself and your structures to not only aim for ordinary people you see around, but also to bring the kingdom to influential people "at the top." When you do, salvation may not only enter a house but an entire generation. The Lord will help you see people the way He does — beyond titles, wealth, influence, or reputation, to their spiritual need. One famous creator shared that they received thousands of messages daily, yet had no one they could be truly honest with. These people were admired, envied, and followed, but not known. Hence, when a pastor, mentor, or friend approached them not as a brand but as a human being, that moment often marked the beginning of healing and spiritual openness. Remember that Jesus didn’t ask Zacchaeus to perform for Him. Rather, He said, “I must stay at your house.” In many communities, affluent individuals are often avoided in faith conversations. They are assumed to be proud, unreachable, or uninterested in God. Yet countless testimonies show that quiet acts of dignity, such as a sincere greeting, a prayer offered privately, respect without flattery, can open doors no sermon ever could. One Christian business leader once testified that it wasn’t a crusade that brought him to Christ, but a colleague who consistently treated him with honor, never judged his wealth, and invited him into meaningful conversations about life and purpose. Salvation came not through pressure but through presence. *Prayers/Confessions* Lord, grant me the grace to show genuine love and care to those around me, especially those who are high-worthy and isolated. Rather, they are often seated in a corner office, driving a luxury vehicle, or carrying the weight of public success. High-worth individuals today include CEOs, influencers, politicians, entrepreneurs, senior pastors, and professionals who appear to have “made it.” Yet many of them live deeply isolated lives. Their success intimidates others, while their reputation also creates distance. People approach them with hidden agendas. They need networking, favors, money, access, etc., but rarely with genuine care. Over time, this can produce emotional fatigue and spiritual emptiness. Jesus did something radically countercultural. The Lord saw Zacchaeus as a person before He saw him as a sinner or a wealthy tax collector. He didn’t shout condemnation from the crowd. He didn’t demand repentance first. He offered presence. That same posture is desperately needed today. A well-documented trend in Silicon Valley is the high rate of depression and loneliness among startup founders. In multiple interviews, including public reflections by tech leaders like Ben Silbermann (Pinterest) and Elon Musk, success did not equal fulfilment. Long hours, constant pressure, and public scrutiny left them isolated (even while surrounded by people). Many admitted that the most meaningful moments of change came not from criticism or advice but from someone who listened without wanting anything in return. Like Zacchaeus, they were “high up” but deeply alone. As a believer, you should dispense the love of Christ in their direction so they can also "make haste to come down" to experience God's joy and peace and fulfilment. *Prayers/Confessions* Lord, grant me the grace to show genuine love and care to those around me, especially those who are high-worthy and isolated. Help me to see them as persons, not just their achievements or status. May I be a vessel of Your presence and love, bringing joy and fulfillment to those who need it. Matthew 28:19 TPT *Message* If you want to win souls in the coming year, you must start the year in the Word. The bible says, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." ( 2 Timothy 2:15). This is very important, as you can't give what you don't have. Create quality time to digest the Word, plus you can utilise useful study plans and materials. There are certain ones that have been carefully crafted to help users discover the desires of God for the nations. It is true that the story of Scripture, focused in the Gospel events concerning Jesus, is about mission from start to finish. Don't allow the busyness of society to distract you. Get useful studies and resources that will help you immerse yourself in God’s word to begin the new year. Fortunately, since many of us today have access to helpful devices like smartphone and laptops, you should utilise them to listen to interviews and podcasts that encourage you to fulfil the Great Commission. There are individuals who have experience in winning souls and share tips and field reports online. Follow them and their materials, and your faith will keep getting enhanced to do a lot for the Lord, too. Unknown to you, these efforts are well pleasing to the Lord. They are a sweet-smelling incense that attracts great blessings in now small measure. This is so because souls mean a lot to the Lord. So, all your efforts to win souls are well pleasing to Him, helping you too to grow into perfection. *Prayers/Confessions* Father, I commit to starting the year in Your Word, immersing myself in Scripture, and utilizing resources that help me discover Your desires for the nations. Empower me to fulfill the Great Commission and win souls for Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen. *Further Reading* “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 28:19 TPT *Message* We have been discussing the place of giving great priority to prayers if you want to win souls. This helps in downloading the heart of God for the lost and helpless, and you receive divine strategies for effective kingdom outreach. It is also necessary to move in the line of intercession. Here is an excerpt from one of our past devotionals titled: "The Altar Of Intercession Is A Viable Platform For The Great Commission": "The altar of intercession is a viable and competent platform to play an essential role in the fulfilment of the Great Commission. There must be a supernatural intervention from the realm of the spirit before an unbeliever can willingly choose to rebel against sin and Satan and self. The unbeliever must first be settled in the spirit realm, where the veil casted on their mind must be removed. If not, our preaching and resources are a waste. "But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (II Corinthians 4:3-4) "And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it." (Isaiah 25:6- ![]() As we could see from the case of Paul, he maximised the power of intercession to snatch a lot of Galatian Gentiles from sin, and continued to travail for the establishment of his converts ("...Christ be formed in you." . Meaning, preaching, and teaching are not enough to fulfil the Great Commission. The case must be settled first on the altar of intercession. If your intercession is the seed that was planted in the spirit realm for the salvation of an unbeliever, the person who preached to the former sinner is not the only one who will get the reward in heaven - but you as the Intercessor also shares in the reward. *Prayers/Confessions* Dear Father, I prioritize prayer and commit to creating quality time to serve Your purposes. Matthew 28:19 TPT *Message* Let's start by emphasising the fact that prayer is the foundation of every move of God. Every single soul saved and brought into God's kingdom, transfered from death to life, is an exhibition of the move of God. In other words, it takes a supernatural intervention from the Lord to get a soul saved from sin and self and destruction. Hence, you must start with giving priority to prayer. When you pray, one of the immediate things God begins to do is to shape your heart toward those things that you are praying for. Therefore, if you want your heart to grow in its commitment to the great commission, to the mission of God, then prayer is one way to do that. In a busy and self-centered society, you must decide to create quality time to serve the purposes of God. And since He so much desires that souls be saved, you must also learn to create a structure that will make you a direct partaker in the Great Commission, thereby investing in eternal affairs. You can start with prayers. Prayers prepare your heart in no small measure, helping you download God's heart for the lost and helpless (which contributes to your effectiveness in carrying out the Great Commission). Also, on the altar of prayer, you begin to download divine wisdom and strategies that help make you successful in your kingdom outreach. *Prayers/Confessions* Dear Father, I prioritize prayer and commit to creating quality time to serve Your purposes. Wisdom For Destiny Daily Devotional *14th December, 2025)* by *Sunday Akanni* TOPIC: From Secret Bold Disciples to Bold Witnesses (3) Scripture: "After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus." - John 19:38 NKJV *Message* Joseph and Nicodemus show us that high-worth individuals can and do enter the kingdom. Their journey may look different in the sense that they are more cautious and more calculated. However, when they finally step forward, they often do so with remarkable courage and generosity. God utilise them to fulfil some aspects of His plans which they have the capacity and means to carry out. For instance, if not for the likes of Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, the prophecies surrounding Jesus's burial would have been brought into jeopardy (which would have ruined the entire salvation plan). So, if you're ministering to influential people who seem interested but hesitant, be patient. Keep investing. Keep praying. God is working in their hearts. And when the moment comes, when the Holy Spirit ignites courage, they will step out of the shadows and into the light. Their influence, their resources, their very lives can become powerful instruments for God's kingdom. The Lord can make use of what they possesses for kingdom works in no small measure. Some of the individuals in this category eventually started sponsoring kingdom works with billions. Some of them have the connections to help the church get certain choice centers and properties for Christian activities. Remember, sometimes, the secret disciples become the boldest witnesses. *Prayers/Confessions* Lord, I want to be a bold witness for You, not a secret disciple. He shared his personal encounter with Christ on the Damascus road, explained how prophecy pointed to Jesus, and made a direct appeal: "King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? The king stood at the threshold of salvation but chose not to cross it. Yet Paul's boldness had brought him to that point — closer to Christ than he had ever been. So he came and took the body of Jesus." - John 19:38 NKJV *Message* When everyone else abandoned Jesus, these two wealthy and influential men stepped forward publicly. Joseph boldly went to Pilate, the Roman governor, and asked for Jesus' body. This wasn't a private gesture; it was a public declaration. Nicodemus came with seventy-five pounds of expensive myrrh and aloes, a burial fit for royalty. Together, they carefully prepared Jesus' body and laid Him in Joseph's own new tomb. Sometimes, crisis clarifies conviction. When they saw the injustice of Jesus' death, when they witnessed His suffering, when the moment demanded action, their fear gave way to courage. The cost of silence suddenly became greater than the cost of speaking up. Their public act of devotion was risky and expensive, but it was also beautiful. They gave Jesus the dignified burial His executioners would have denied Him. They used their wealth, their influence, and their resources for the One they had been secretly following. Not everyone comes to Christ with immediate boldness. Some influential people need time to count the cost, to wrestle with what discipleship means for their position and reputation. That's okay. God is patient with secret disciples, but He doesn't intend for them to remain secret forever. As wealthy, respected members of the Sanhedrin (which was the Jewish ruling council), they sat at the pinnacle of religious and social influence. The opinions of these men shaped policy. Their votes determined outcomes. Their reputations were impeccable. Yet both had become followers of Jesus. Secretly. Now, we shouldn't be too quick to judge their initial timidity. We should consider their position instead. To publicly declare allegiance to Jesus meant potential expulsion from the Sanhedrin, social ostracism, loss of influence, and possibly their wealth. These weren't unfounded fears. The religious establishment had already decided that anyone who confessed Christ would be put out of the synagogue (John 9:22). So they watched from the shadows. Nicodemus came to Jesus by night (John 3). Joseph kept his discipleship hidden. They believed, but they were afraid. Then came the crucifixion. As Jesus hung dying, most of His followers scattered. Peter had denied Him. The disciples hid behind locked doors. The crowds that had shouted "Hosanna" were nowhere to be found.
