Katsina United Players Get N50k Reward After Lobi Draw

Management of Katsina United has rewarded their players with 50,000 Naira each following their 0-0 away draw against Lobi Stars on Sunday, This was revealed on Katsina United’s official twitter handle on Monday.

According to the management, the N50,000 reward is for each of Katsina United’s 24-man squad.

It was also disclosed that a win against Lobi Stars would have seen each of the players smile home with N200,000.

“Katsina United pay 50,000 Naira to each player of 24-man squad for draw against Lobi Stars. Had they won, each player would get N200,000,” the club wrote on their Twitter handle on Monday.

Katsina United are currently 12th in the NPFL table on nine points.

Their next league game comes up on Sunday when they host Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

BREAKING: Super Eagles Coach Christian Chukwu is Named the new manager OF CHAMPIONS ENUGU RANGERS

Former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu has been appointed general manager and chief executive of champions Rangers with immediate effect.

This followed Monday afternoon's fact-finding meeting between Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi with the board, management, players, supporters club and other stakeholders of Rangers.

After this revealing parley, the governor announced the appointment of the former captain and coach Rangers ‘Chairman’ Chukwu as the new General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the club.

He takes over from Paul Ozor Chibuzor, who has led the team for about 10 years.

The rest of the management has also been affected by this order from the Governor. The decision may not be unconnected with the unimpressive performance of the club in the new NPFL season. The poor financial position of the club despite the prompt release of funds by the government is also believed to have caused this change.

Next month, Rangers will take on Souara of Algeria in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The baby who was born on Monday is Yobo's third child after the couple's two boys.

Cameroon beat Egypt 2-1 to win AFCON Cup for the Fifth Time

Eight players had withdrawn from the squad while the determination of their coach, Hugo Broos, to impose discipline had led to other established names being dropped and it turn out to be a good decision that paid off. But his inexperienced squad showed remarkable tenacity to come from behind and beat Egypt to win Cameroon their fifth Cup of Nations title and their first for 15 years.

The prestigious Achievement of the current LMC board led by Shehu Dikko cannot be over emphasized as they have now gone a step ahead with an imitative to launch the long awaited Live streaming of Nigeria Professional Football League matches to Global viewers.

This means more money and investments to come into our local league.

According to LMC-NPFL official website

LMC would be testing the Live Streaming of NPFL matches to global audience with two matches to be streamed on the Match Day 6 fixtures on Sunday, February 5 from 4pm Nigerian time.

The matches are that in Nnewi between FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Rangers International FC and the match at the Sani Abacha Stadium between Kano Pillars and ABS Fc.

The Test Streaming is Free and Registration has opened.

Ex-Nigeria Footballer Nduka Ugbade becomes the first NPFL coach to be sacked this season After Failed Contract Talks

Ex-Flying Eagles of Nigeria footballer Nduka Ugbade has now become the first coach to be relieved of his job after he officially parted ways with newly promoted NPFL club Remo Stars Football Club

According to statement released by Newly promoted Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Remo Stars Football Club on their Official website

Remo Stars Football Club have parted ways with Technical Adviser Nduka Ugbade after negotiations for a new contract broke down.

Negotiations with the tactician broke down this evening as both parties couldn't reach an agreement over a contract renewal.

Ugbade joined the Sky Blue Stars at the start of the 2015/16 Nigeria National League Season and achieved a landmark in the club's history as he tutored the side to attaining promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League for the first time.

Nduka Ugbade would be widely missed by everyone at the club as we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

The 47-year-old coach was also part of Nigeria national under-20 football team at the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship that placed second and won silver medals in Saudi Arabia. Nigeria lost to Portugal in the final match, but Ugbade and his teammates were the toast of the spectators after posting spectacular wins over hosts Saudi Arabia, highly favoured United States, and the USSR. Against the USSR the Nigerian team recovered from a 4-0 deficit to level 4-4 with Ugbade scoring the fourth before Nigeria won on penalties. This win is fondly referred to in Nigerian football history as the "Dammam Miracle".

Nduka has only just being incahrge of five games so far for the new club this season placing them on 13th position with just 6 points.

A Charm seen at the side of Ghanaian goal Post AFCON Semi final Match against Cameroon

Who watched the Nations Cup Semi final match between Ghana and Cameroon yesterday?

Some kind of charm was discovered at the side of Ghanaian goal post during the semi- final Match between Cameroon and Ghana. Despite this charm, Ghana still lost to Cameroon 2-0 as Cameroon books a date with Egypt in the Final to be played on Sunday. It was later learnt that Ghanaian goalkeeper Razak was the player who brought the charm after he was spotted kissing the spiderman doll on the pitch during the semi-finals match.

A similar event occurred when Ghana played Egypt in their last Group D match and Andre Ayew was seen sprinkling what seems to be a white powdered charm on the pitch just before the kick-off but they eventually did lost 1-0 to Egypt.

My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla's parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that.
Like many of you, I'm concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump.
We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat. Expanding the focus of law enforcement beyond people who are real threats would make all Americans less safe by diverting resources, while millions of undocumented folks who don't pose a threat will live in fear of deportation.
We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help. That's who we are. Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla's family wouldn't be here today.
That said, I was glad to hear President Trump say he's going to "work something out" for Dreamers -- immigrants who were brought to this country at a young age by their parents. Right now, 750,000 Dreamers benefit from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that allows them to live and work legally in the US. I hope the President and his team keep these protections in place, and over the next few weeks I'll be working with our team at FWD.us to find ways we can help.
I'm also glad the President believes our country should continue to benefit from "people of great talent coming into the country."
These issues are personal for me even beyond my family. A few years ago, I taught a class at a local middle school where some of my best students were undocumented. They are our future too. We are a nation of immigrants, and we all benefit when the best and brightest from around the world can live, work and contribute here. I hope we find the courage and compassion to bring people together and make this world a better place for everyone.

Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt in Rivers State are crowned Nigeria Women Professional League 2015/2016 Champions after beating Nasarawa Amazons 5-3 on penalty shootouts.

Rivers Angels becomes the first team since 2002 to win three consecutive Nigeria Women Professional League titles.
