Late Oparonozie's strike hands Super Falcons of Nigeria Eight African Title (PHOTOS) The Nigeria national women's football team, nicknamed "the Super Falcons" have emerged as African champions for the eighth time after a 1-0 victory against the wasteful Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon on Saturday, December 3. 2016 in the 12th Africa Women Cup of Nations final Desire Oparonozie's strike in the 86th was the difference as the Falcons edge their opponent right at their very own backyard. Oparanozie, who netted the winner in the semi-final victory over South Africa four days earlier in Limbe, again lived up to expectations to silence the deafening home crowd that filled every inch of space at the 40,000 capacity stadium who were rooting for the side. It was the third time after 2004 and 2014 that Nigeria had beaten Cameroon in the final and it further cements the Super Falcons’ status as the most dominant side in women’s football after previous triumphs in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. With the victory, Nigeria have emerged African champions eight time (although having won two already but because it was first contested in 1991, and was not held biennially until 1998) And coach Florence Omagbemi makes history as the first person to win the continental championship both as a player and coach. Asisat Oshoala won the Africa Women Cup of Nations’ Golden Boot as Nigeria beat Cameroon in Saturday’s final. The striker finished the tournament with six goals, three clear of Oparanozie and Ghana’s Elizabeth Addo. The Arsenal forward becomes the fourth Nigerian after Mercy Akide, Perpetua Nkwocha and Oparanozie to finish as the tournament’s top goalscorer. http://get9jasports..com.ng/2016/12/late-oparonozies-strike-gifts-super.html cc Lalasticlala OAM4J, Mynd44 semid4lyfe, honeric01 Fynestboi Ijebabe Ishilove MissyB3

See PHOTO of a 5-month-old Pit Bull Puppy that Saved Teen from Attempted Rape Apollo the 5-month-old pit bull puppy is getting extra hugs today, after saving his owner’s girlfriend from a terrifying attack. According to the New York Post, 18-year-old Maya Fairweather was visiting her boyfriend, Carlos Guzman, at his apartment in the Red Hook neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday night. Around 10 p.m., the teen decided to take Guzman’s puppy, Apollo, for a walk. Once she reached a nearby park, Fairweather let the pit bull off his leash so he could run around on the grass, while she watched on listening to music through her headphones. “I felt someone pull my headphones,” she told NY Post. “I thought it was my boyfriend grabbing me, so I turned around and smiled — but it wasn’t my boyfriend.” Instead in was an unfamiliar man, who started attacking Fairweather, pushing her to the ground and tearing at her pants. After struggling with the attacker for a few moments, the teen was saved by her protective pup companion. Apollo raced to the scene and latched on to the attacker’s leg. The puppy bit down so hard, the stranger was forced to take his attention off Fariweather to try to shake the dog off. The girl used the moment of distraction to run across the street and escape. Eventually, Apollo released the attacker, who fled from the scene. “He was protective,” Fairweather said about the dog’s heroic deed. “I think it would’ve been a lot worse. I wouldn’t have been so lucky.” After the incident, Fariweather and Apollo, who was not harmed during the encounter, returned to Guzman’s apartment. Guzman’s sister took Fairweather to a local police station to report the attack. Authorities are now searching for the man. Fairweather is understandably grateful for the role Apollo played in her escape, but is surprised the usually tame canine came to her rescue. “He is a sweet dog. I never thought he would bite anyone. He never bit anyone before. He’s usually very friendly and just jumps on everyone,” she said. https://www.yahoo.com/celebrity/hero-pit-bull-puppy-saves-165846711.html cc Lalasticlala OAM4J, Mynd44 r231, Freiburger

See this Ancient Mummy with the oldest case of heart disease preserved for over 2,100 years (PHOTOS) This Chinese woman has been preserved for over 2,100 years and she’s baffled scientists. Called the Lady of Dai, she’s considered the best-preserved mummy ever discovered. Her skin is soft, her arms and legs can bend, her internal organs are intact, and she still has her own Type-A blood, hair and eyelashes. The Lady of Dai, also known as Xin Zhui, lived during the Han dynasty (206 BCE – 220 AD) and was the wife of the Marquis of Dai. Her tomb was discovered inside a hill known as Mawangdui, in Changsha, Hunan, China, in 1971 when workers were digging an air raid shelter. According to an autopsy, Xin Zhui was overweight, suffered from back pain, high blood pressure, clogged arteries, liver disease, gallstones, diabetes and had a severely damaged heart. She passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 50 and experts have put it down to her lavish lifestyle as a marquis. Xin Zhui has even been nicknamed “The Diva Mummy” because of her apparent life of luxury. It has led scientists to believe she is the oldest case of heart disease. Amazingly, forensic archaeologists have deduced that Xin Zhui’s last meal was a serving of melons. In her tomb, which was buried 40 feet underground, she had a wardrobe containing 100 silk garments, 182 pieces of expensive lacquerware, makeup and toiletries. She also had 162 carved wooden figurines representing servants in her tomb. According to records, Xin Zhui’s body was swaddled in 20 layers of silk, immersed in a mildly acidic liquid and sealed within four coffins. This vault of coffins was then packed with 5 tons of charcoal and sealed with clay. The tomb was made watertight and airtight so bacteria wouldn’t be able to thrive — but it remains a scientific mystery just how the body was preserved so well. There are lots of unanswered questions, and despite the Egyptians being the most well-known for their mummies, the Chinese were arguably the most successful at it. The ancient Chinese method of preservation was not as invasive as that of the Egyptians, who removed many of the internal organs from their dead for separate preservation. For now, Xin Zhui’s incredible preservation remains a mystery. http://nypost.com/2016/12/01/nobody-knows-why-this-ancient-mummy-is-so-well-preserved/ cc Lalasticlala OAM4J, Mynd44 r231, Freiburger

NIGERIA'S FALCONETS SENT HOME WITH 30,000 NAIRA EACH AFTER RETURNING FROM DISAPPOINTING WORLD CUP After failing to advance to the next stage of the Women Under-17 World Cup in Papua New Guinea, the Falconets of Nigeria have finally been paid 30,000 Naira each on their return to the country by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). A breakdown of the 30,000 Naira stipend showed that they received a transport fare of 10,000 Naira, while 20,000 Naira was to cover their camp allowances. Even these paltry sums were only sourced from borrowed funds, it was further gathered. In the meantime, traumatised defender Mary Ologbosere, has been discharged from hospital. Ologbosere, who has also represented Nigeria at the U17 women’s World Cup, suffered a serious depression when it became clear the Falconets will be get their full payment on arrival back in Nigeria. The Falconets first showed their huge disappointment with the NFF when they threatened to stay put at their hotel in Papua New Guinea even after their elimination from the World Cup. They also threatened not to quit their hotel in Abuja until they were paid off. http://get9jasports..com.ng/2016/11/nigerias-falconet-sent-home-finally.html

FC Ifeanyi Ubah Trophy Parade: See the attire the players wore for the Tour, as Governor Obiano commends club Owner (PHOTOS & VIDEO) After their Nigeria Federation Cup triumph over Nasarawa United in Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos which saw them book a continental ticket next season, players and coach crew members of FC Ifeanyi Ubah took to the streets of Anambra for their Trophy parade on Wednesday 23 November 2016. The event was filled with colourful and artistic display of the club's banners as they were cheered by their fans. But what caught not only my eyes but so many other people was the traditional Igbo attire which the players and coach crew members of the club wore during the parade. To be frank it was very creative of the club but i still think that they over-stretched it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pO2L0toqGM Anyways, present at the ceremony was the owner of the club Dr.Ifeanyi Ubah, Governor of the state Willie Obiano, Former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh and other stakeholders of Anambra Football. But I love those traditional attire though, Igbo Kwenu!!!! http://get9jasports..com.ng/2016/11/see-attire-fc-ifeanyi-ubah-players-wore.html

Andy Murray beat Djokovic at Barclays ATP World Tour Finals to claim World No 1 spot in Tennis Andy Murray silenced any argument about who is the best tennis player on the planet when he subdued his greatest rival on a delirious night at the O2 Arena. The 29 year-old Scot took the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals title with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Novak Djokovic to register his 24th straight victory that capped a late season surge. He will now keep the world No 1 ranking for a matter of months not weeks, and becomes the seventeenth man to hold the year-end positon since the computer whirred into life in 1973. Murray produced a rock solid performance to take advantage of an occasionally wayward Djokovic who, despite a late rally, sometimes seemed to be hosting the demons that have affected him since the French Open. http://arthurbueze..com/2016/11/andy-murray-beat-djokovic-at-barclays.html
