I just got an Acceptance letter from Lamar University, Texas for their Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Program.

Wasn't expecting anything so soon. 1 out of 5 applications, 4 more to go.

Sooooo early, finished applying about 3weeks ago.

I was offered a $1,000 annual scholarship + I'll only pay in-state tuition just like I wanted.

Maybe you should just try and e-mail the school and explain the state of things explicitly. And that when the school resumes they would forward it.

the truth is that i want to leave d country, and also that i want to give myself d opportunity of studying a course out of passion for it, i have a bsc in eeconomics 2.1, and also an ican AAT holder,but i dont really have passion for the course from day1 my mom made me do it,i feel like studying an educational course and also a work while you study opportunity, ..thanks i really your sincere response. .bless

Still didnt get the alert. I went to check my balance at the ATM, about N16,200 was out. So thats the charge. Roughly N325/$. Which is very good.

Now I used Access card. Cant say if it will be different with another bank card. If you have a GTB card, d rate is very okay too.

I'm assuming that you're using Public transport. If not, just drive down from Ojuelegba into Ikorodu Road. JKK is after Obanikoro but before Anthony. Watch out for Mutual Benefits House, i think that's the most conspicuous Landmark in the place. Though you might have to drive down towards Maryland before you turn into JKKs side of the road.

Case you're going by public transport:
From Ojuelegba, board a bus to Ojota/Ikeja/ Anthony. Any of these will be fine. Some conductors might not know where JKKs building is so tell them Mutual Benefits House( that's after Obanikoro and Savoil Bus stops but before Anthony)

Hi people, I was @ JKK today for the much talked about GRE...As expected, my actual scores are quite close to my Powerprep scores. I had Q 160 and V 154. Although, I already have a list of schools I plan to apply to, I would appreciate if anyone here can help with list of schools that match my profile especially for funding purpose. I intend to study Applied Maths and my undergrad CGPA is 4.53/5.0 (3.68 WES unofficial). I will appreciate any form of help/assistance. Cheers

I emailed the admissions office and told them that I couldn't do it at that moment and I'm really interested in going to their school... plus the deadlines were approaching!

They told me to have my councillor submit a request on my behalf and then I told them I've not been in contact with him for a while so it'll be inappropriate to have him send a request on my behalf as he's not up to date with my current financial status.

And voila, they waived it and I was able to submit my application!

...yeah I was telling THE TRUTH!

Application fee is the easiest thing to have waived by U.S Universities. Tuition and other fees, that na another story!

Unless you sell yourself to them in ways that would have everyone in admissions crying.

Look for a good school bro... Application fee shouldn't be an obstacle. I got mine waived after I finished applying!

You just have to know the right thing to say to them!

Typical of most Nigerians. As a full time marketer of trading systems, after advertising their system, then they will drop their phone numbers or email addy for those who want to "know more" about a trading system they probably got from FF with tons of profitable trading systems.

If you don't want to share your system publicly, that's fine. You're under no obligation to do so. Dropping your contact information so that folks can learn more about your system is a dead giveaway. I would advise newbies to stay away from this figure as far as possible.

As I said earlier, most graduate students here get funding.
If your profile is strong enough, you get it with the admission.
Else, you talk to professors when you arrive and they hire you as RA.
Software Engineering is not massive here as the university is a research-oriented
institution. Just focus on the GRE and send an email to Mitch, the grad coordinator
when you want to apply. Based on his response, you can make a decision. Good luck.
