I am presently in Jigawa State for some days. When Sule Lamido declared his intention last week, many people made a comment. Some people said Buhari will beat him hands down even in Jigawa State, it's a capital lie from my observation. I am in Dutse, and I have been asking people who is better between Buhari and Lamido, to my surprise, almost all the people I asked in Dutse, prefer Lamido to Buhari.
They said Sule Lamido gave them free education, health, etc. All people that have been to Jigawa State when Lamido was the governor would agree with me that Sule Lamido beautified all the Local Governmens with tarred roads. All the roads that linked to other Local Governments are tarred. Each Local Government has good roads, not only the main roads but even in the streets of the town. It is only in Hadejia, that one can see out of 10 people, only 7 would like Lamido but from Dutse, Birnin Kudu, Birniwa, Kirikasama, Kafin Hausa, etc 80% are with Sule Lamido.
Again one thing I like with Lamido is; one of the Jigawa residents in Dutse told me Sule Lamido is not a tribal or religious bigot. He told me, Lamido as a Fulani man, there was a time Fulani paid him a visit but he told them he is a governor for all not for his tribe. The same person told me Kwankwoso is a bigot unlike Lamido. The Hausa man told me there was a time Kwankwaso promised to deal with the southerners of which the resident claimed that it was a bad statement from a leader. I stand to be corrected, any person that has ever been to Jigawa State during Lamido of PDP and Badaru of APC should compare and contrast with all sincerity. Thanks all.
