Hi All,
The last time I was here was in August 2021(part 10 of this thread).
My husband was Inland and I was outland, my medical was expired and I came asking if it was advisable to go for up-front re-medical or wait for IRCC to request for it. Although the popular response here, IRCC customer care, and even the MP's office said we should wait but we decided I'd do it regardless. We've been waiting for 3 months so we felt it was better we had a valid medical at hand. Also, we strongly believed that my expired medical was the cause of the final delay. We were told that the medical exam must be valid for all persons on the application at the time the officer is making a final decision.

Here is our testimony:
September 16 - I did my up-front re-medical.
September 21 - IOM called to let me know my result was okay and they have transmitted it to IRCC
September 24 - Our medical was approved!
September 27 - We received the portal email.
September 27 - We received my passport request.
September 28 - They issued my husband's COPR.

September 29 - I submitted my passport to VFS Abuja (unfortunately). I didn't know about the Accra direct at the time, apparently, an immigrant visa is not issued in Nigeria.

Exactly 6 weeks later (November): My passport arrived.
To the glory of God, I landed and reunited with my husband in November 2021.

Our PR timeline is exactly 1 year, from ITA to Approval.
My attempt to travel started in 2018 and was accompanied by 3 refusals (I have shared all my struggles here on nairaland).

I really appreciate everyone who kept these threads alive and going, by contributing valuably and assisting various strangers. God used you all to make this place available for us to tap into your wealth of knowledge. May you be met at the point of your needs.

Anyhoo... I am a Youtuber and if you are interested in watching me talk about my refusals, struggles, and the impact this whole process had on us as an inland applicant with an outland spouse waiting to be reunited, I have made several videos.

Relocation vlog - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtJbAgELEuxJIlcDH-f2AB7o1rbBOHqlY

It looked like it will never happen, but it indeed became a reality.
if you are still waiting, please keep the hope alive and remain positive. It will happen.

Thank you all!

If the Principal Applicant is in Canada, the medical will be extended (they have a new policy to that effect for inland applicants).
DooLiz:
I have two questions please.
1. I heard ordering GCMS notes makes you look desperate and your application might be delayed because of that. Is that true?
2. If one spouse (who is the principal applicant) medicals should expire before the other spouse, must that spouse with the expired medical do another medical test? If yes, should the spouse wait till IRCC requests for it, or just go and have another medical test done without them asking?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by iReina: 9:10pm On Aug 10, 2021
I might just agree about it making us feel better grin
We were thinking it might likely come out as a medical request and we should just expedite the process for them .

Thanks for your input.

GraciousWords:
Even if you did remedicals it would still need to be sent to the Medical Officer for reassessment...... same difference as IRCC call centre telling you your meds have already been sent for reassessment. There is a medical assessment backlog as well as a general application backlog.....

You can go and do it sha, if it makes you feel better....even though IRCC have said they'll let people know if they need to remed....I understand the anxiety smiley Patience & Prayer.....

....also Hubby may want to order your GCMS notes.

Good evening guys, I'm here again. Please need an advice.

My medical has expired since January and my husband's (inland) medical is expiring next month. The last time we were contacted was for PFL and that was in May.
Hubby has called IRCC several times for advice on my expired medical but what they have on record is that it has been sent for reassessment (probably since June).

I'm sure my medical is what is delaying so should I just go for a re-medical and send it via webform?

I read somewhere that it is not recommended so I'm a little skeptical about it however we feel stuck.

Please advice. Thank you so much as always.

Amen. Thank you so much.
Debbieeeeeee:
All the best iReina, just read the story and it seems like a whole lot of back and forth going on. Since you have 7 days to respond to the PFL , don’t wait for the 7th day to submit but take your time to respond point by point without leaving anything out and with all the evidences available and within your knowledge.
You will come back here rejoicing by Gods Grace

The shared link is very helpful. Our case is very similar. Thank you so much for the link and advice. I pray the next time I come crying here will be for joy.
GraciousWords:
This lady's (Maryke4nny) post will likely be useful, see here dor a similar issue she had and all th3 docs she provided:

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/november-2020-aor-join-here.708612/page-171#post-9403555

I will advise you relax first and look at each bullet point in the PFL and respond very clearly and concisely with DOCUMENTARY evidence of each. You seen to have these already - reading your post on the SOWP thread (https://www.nairaland.com/2271485/canada-spouse-open-work-permit/106#95525130).

Even though many spouses live apart these days it may seem odd to IRCC still, I guess. The sponsor part also seems odd but just take it to mean your spouse since you are both applying under CEC mainly due to his work experience.

You can update all the docs in the placeholders and also resend them via webform too.

All the best sis.

I don't know there's a post-ppr group. I will find it. Thank you so much.
MissMa01:
I am so sorry it seems like a lot but are you sure you won’t engage the services of an immigration lawyer? Might be expensive but I reckon they would very well know how to tackle this. Have you asked those in the post-ppr group?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by iReina: 5:54am On May 26, 2021
We kind of figured the sponsor meant spouse. We've submitted all pictures and communication correspondence but I will make sure we resend again. Thank you so much.
Upeople:
As per the sponsor, they are referring to ur spouse.
The VO is just being strict; they’re not convinced that u still have ongoing relationship with ur spouse cos he hasn’t traveled home to see u since after the wedding. I would suggest you write an LoE to explain why he hasn’t been able to visit you & attach as much evidence as possible to show u guys are still married. Eg print & attach evidence of communication btw u two: phone logs, text messages, also state that u guys do video calls etc, bank statement of financial support, evidence that u ar his next of kin, wedding pictures etc.

What's the status of your husband in Canada?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by iReina: 9:18pm On May 25, 2021
Guys I am back again and this time I'm crying.
We raised a webform and submitted documents to support the work experience issue that led us to REVIEW REQUIRED and to the glory of God all our parameters are now PASSED according to the information we were told. In fact my expired medical has been extended.

Then we received a procedural fairness. . It was a questionnaire to prove that our marriage is bonafide. We answered their questions individually as they requested and submitted all relevant pictures. It was majorly history of our relationship and the wedding proper.

It's just been 3 working days we submitted their requests and they came up with what is in the picture below.

We got married in 2019 and hubby left for canada since then...he came home for the wedding.
I am in Nigeria and he's been in Canada ever since (declared on application). I applied for TRV after wedding which was refused then spouse work permit in 2020 and it took them 8months to send their refusal (I shared my frustration on the spouse work permit thread).
November 2020 hubby reapplied for TRV so he could travel but he didn't get PPR until March this year. They smoothly blamed everything on Covid.

I don't know how else they want us to prove we are still very much married. And their requests sounds to me like they assume we live together (which contradicts their previous observation that we haven't lived together after marriage hence why they asked for our history).

They also mentioned "sponsor". Do they mean wedding sponsor or financial sponsor? We never mentioned the word sponsor in our application. How do we approach this please?

As it is, we can only share bank statements showing that he sends me money as per financials. He has his tax filebwith my name on it. We can also get written testimonials from families. My name is on his lease agreement and also insurance in canada ( are these sufficient even though we haven't lived together?).

Any idea how to approach the sponsor part?

Someone should please help me call on moderators to ensure I see your replies. We have just 7 days.

Thank you Guys.

I have a feeling some people has replied to my post but I can't see them. I have received several "mention" notifications but when I click, nothing displays. Thought to put it out there in case you replied and didn't get an acknowledgement from me.
Thank you all the same.
iReina:
Hi everyone, thanks for all your supports.
Please I need help.

We applied for PR (CEC) last year and it's been over 6 months now.
We ordered for GCMS notes twice and the second just arrived with enough details. But we have an issue.

We are stuck at Eligibilty: Review required - since January.

The VO notes says: Employer of foreign job couldn't be verified and no trace of the company exist online.
The experience on the job is 50 points and the VO consider it integral because a deduction of the point will make us fall short of our point at the time of ITA.

Please guys what do we do?

PS: the company has no online presence, but it exist (if only IRCC can call one of the phone numbers provided for reference).

My thoughts: I'm thinking we should raise a webform and submit a letter of explanation, attach company's documents and also attach bank reference letter (on the company's account).
....anything to make the company believeable.

What do you think?
How do we get out of this?

Thanks guys.

TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by iReina: 9:46am On Oct 31, 2020
Hey guys, I just wanted to let out my frustration. I got "refused" yesterday and the reasons are the most numbing ones ever it makes me angry.

3rd application (previous 2 were TRV)
Submitted: February 7
Upfront medical: Not updated
I did biometrics in 2018: Not updated
Received request for biometric receipt: February 19 (I sent it same day)
Acknowledgement of receipt/We are reviewing your additional document: February 27
I sent several webmail and also sent mail to Ghana
Received mail from Ghana to pay for biometrics: October 28
I responded with my receipts and relevant docs same day
Refusal: October 30.

Grounds for refusal:
• I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in coming to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

I submitted bank statement with 2 Million Naira (A support from our company to ease my transition, this was duly stated). Finances is not a requirement for SOWP but I added them anyway. We submitted hubby's Employment letter, paystubs and our expenses plan till I can get a job (we even had excess fund for savings!)

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

My husband is in Canada (Working in NOC A). We submitted several pictures (undergraduate days, wedding pics, honeymoon, his departure back to canada, wedding cert, newspaper publication, change of name affidavit, Rent agreement which also has my name on it. Also all my siblings ID, father's ID, late mum's death cert, declared my eldest sis is late and put up my nieces pics. One landed property (inherited from late mum with document, pillar pictures with her name on it included) and one landed under construction building (wedding gift from Dad with deed of gift. Picture of me and Dad at the front of the building included). Also submitted family company docs which I am one of the Directors and has a job role to take up upon return.

Quick rant: Do they mean having my hubby their is the problem? But it's a partner open work permit not TRV, I am supposed to have a partner there. I incuded family pictures we took at my wedding including my sisters children. What do they want nitori olorun?

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I applied for open work permit. I claimed that I needed the International work experience so I can resume my position at our family company, it's a prerequisite to me taking up the logistics department

I have worked as a Logistics officer locally for 4 years for experience as requested by our company. I am also a Director (stakeholder) in our company and I submitted our CAC docs and letter of introduction from our company, signed by chairman who is my Father.
Also to give my husband and I opportunity to live married.
My application was heavy on employment than the desire to be with hubby. I.e work experience history and academic/professional certificates. I also pointed out there are several openings in canada based on my field (Logistics and Transportation).

Quick rant: Heck! Someone already told hubby to get me in ASAP, do Masters and he would fix me up with a job! I googled before I submitted, there's high demand for my profession.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on the limited employment prospects in your country of residence.

I stated I have a job waiting for me in our company and I am also one of the Directors in our company. I am also a blogger. I am not looking for job in my country. I have a company to return to and a side hustle!

Background info:
1st application TRV: 2018 Refused.
I was a fiancee and bobo was still a student.
Grounds for refusal: Insufficient funds and asset, no travel history, no family ties home and abroad.

2nd App TRV: 2019 refused:
Got married in June (Hubby came home for the wedding) I dropped application in July.
Hubby already finished school and starting his NOC A job in September. Submitted necessary documents and wedding pictures and cert except I didn't do change of name.
Traveled to Rwanda and South Africa in February.
Grounds for refusal: No family ties home and abroad, No travel history.

3rd application: Open Work permit
I used this thread to gather all my document (I read from page 1 to page 90+ as at when I got here). I saw the issues pple raised and addressed them for my application.
Did change of name, and newspaper publication.
Changed my passport to reflect new name.

I addressed the previous refusals.
Submitted my biometrics receipts and even wrote out the number for them.

I traveled to The Benin Republic as at the time I submitted this application and let them know in my LOE it was for tourism purpose (as a travel blogger)
I sent Ghana mail and raised a webform to let them know I am back in Nigeria and gave them my new address.

THE REFUSAL LETTER WAS ADDRESSED TO COTONOU!
THEY DIDN'T UPDATE MY MEDICALS
THEY DIDN'T UPDATE MY BIOMETRICS.
STILL REVIEWING ADDITIONAL DOCUMENT I SUBMITTED.
BACKGROUND CHECK IS STILL PROCESSING.

It looks like they didn't go through my application at all! Abi they decided to clear their backlogs.

PS: we ordered GCMS notes in August and looked like nothing was being done. Except my file being moved around countries because of workload.

I'm livid right now I can't even cry.
We have ordered for GCMS notes and I desperately wish there's an office to enter so we can talk one on one...lol. I am legit angry.

I will update you on the notes when we have it.
