Evening house. Please, I need clarification on this new dependent visa policy. My question is, does the new policy affects those already residing in the Uk since 2023. for instance, one's dependent got COS from her care company, can the husband who's already in the Uk apply as her dependent since he's in the Uk already, thanks in advance.
Yes if the care worker' application was done before/on March 11
No if the care worker's application was done after March 11

Haaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!.

That's not what I said.....not even close .....

Madam Jesu.....calm down

Before u enter UK through care job...u will apply for visa...UKVI expect u to submit IELTS report to with your application....or pay for international ECCTIS report (if u have a bachelors degree taught in English)....

Some employers also demand for IELTS ..because they know u need for visa application..

After this naa vawulence oooo

Lol

Please what do you think about getting a sponsorship while my wife is already on sponsorship and she switch from hers to mine as dependent. Will this new rule prevent her from switching after march 11? I think no one has asked this question on this thread.
Does anyone have an answer to this please?

You are spoilt for choice.
You can apply as dependant.
You can apply for PSW visa.

A bird 🦅 in hand is worth 2 in Sambisa forest.🌳
If it’s me. I will complete the PSW visa application form, but not click submit yet.
Then at 11:55pm on the day my current bisa expires, I will check one last time if the CoSi have been promised has landed. If it hasn’t, I will pay for, and submit the PSW application.
Thanks. Does my employer have to pay for immigration skills charge if I am on PSW visa when I switch to skilled worker visa?

Please I need some advice, I have been waiting for COS from my place of work since November 2023, which I have continously followed up with emails on several occasions with the HR, infact I have filled the COS form since November. The issue I have now is that my current student visa expires feb 13th, I spoke with the HR last week about this and he said they were working on it. My husband is currently on 1yr sponsorship visa, is it advisable to apply as his dependent or I should apply for postgraduate visa while still waiting for my COS.

Good evening everyone.
Please I need suggestions.

I did my biometric at the Nigeria High Commission on Nov 22 and my passport was to be delivered on the 19th of Jan 2024. This is what my portal looks like after tracking it.
For your peace of mind, I would advice you ignore the online tracking. The online tracking was at the same stage even after my daughter's passport was delivered because I kept checking it too.

Pls gurus in the house. My wife is my dependant and we are already in UK. I am on care worker visa.
My question is can my wife bring in her child from her previous marriage before the new immigration rule start by spring?
Or can she bring her daughter in anytime and not get affected by the new rule .
Thanks in anticipation
She can still bring the child in after spring as those already on the route before the policy comes into effect are not affected

Nairaland is back up in time for a factsheet released today from the Home Office to provide some clarity on the recently announced policy changes.

To summarise some key announcements:
-those already on a care visa route will be allowed to stay with and bring in dependants. Anyone switching to the care route (both in and out of country )from spring 2024 will not be able to stay with or bring in dependants.

- those already on a skilled worker route will not need to meet the new £38,700 threshold when extending their visas, changing sponsors or applying to settle, but they will be subject to the 25th percentile of earnings which is currently £29,000.

- family visa income threshold reduced to £29,000. Will be increased in stages to £38,700 but no timeline announced yet.

More details here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/fact-sheet-on-net-migration-measures-further-detail

it's stated that the changes to care worker's dependent will be implemented as soon as possible next year, does that mean spring?

Hello everyone, I find myself in a state of panic and frustration after my first post here. Although I realize there's little that can be done, I feel the need to express my concerns. I submitted all my documents to ABC University, the institution that has accepted me. Initially, I was informed that the Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) had been requested in the first week of November, specifically around the 3rd, and that I should expect to receive it within two weeks. However, as November passed, I heard nothing. In early December, I sent a reminder, fearing that I might have missed the mail if they had already sent it. Their response mentioned delays caused by UKIV around this time of year.

However, my concern deepened when I checked online and found people who submitted in November receiving their COS within 9-20 working days. This situation is causing me regret, especially considering that I turned down other offers in France and the US to be closer to my family in the UK. Although my intended start date is in February, the lack of control over this situation is weighing heavily on me. I earnestly hope to receive the COS soon to alleviate these doubts. Initially, I assumed that the COS for researchers coming to the UK would be processed swiftly, given the reputable nature of the universities involved. Unfortunately, I find myself in a disheartening situation.
I understand how you feel, because i am also waiting for COS from my employer as well. But all you can do now is to wait as worrying too much wouldn't solve anything it will only affect your mental health. Everything will be fine. Fingers crossed

Yes, your English in either WAEC or Neco could be used to improvise English language requirement.
You can only use ur WAEC or Neco as English proficiency for student visa not skilled worker visa. He was asking about work visa so NO

This question is not clear but hope you know that All students can work full time during the holidays, hope you are aware.
Yes I am aware, I completed my studies this month but graduation will be next month, so there was an argument that we need to wait till after graduation date before working full time

A student can start working full time after the course completion date and not after graduation. Your school immediately notifies the Home Office once you completed your course, which gives you the liberty to work full time.
Thanks

My daughter did her biometrics on the 1st of June, and her passport was delivered on the 2nd of October.

It took 4 months.

Please did you track the application online after biometrics? Did you get any notification prior to receiving the passport on the 2nd ?
Just want to be sure because i might be at work and I don't miss the delivery date

Hello `@dduchess90 and others.

Please I need a little advice on what to do.

school has given till 9th October (next Monday) as final date for enrolment. The clearly stated that there will be no extension.

I have called, I have escalated by mail etc. Nothing positive yet.

Please what do I do?

Do i cancel and withdraw the application?

If I dont cancel, (and visa comes out but I am unable to travel) will I still be able to get a refund of IHS and Application fee? (because as it is, it is very very unlikely that I will make it).

Please advice
You will only get a refund for your IHS fee if decision has been made before withdrawal
