waldrum has failed woefully , after how many years he is still talking about getting his best 11 , he even mentioned oparanozie when he has not been inviting her Deltamani: Waldrum: I Can Build Something Special With Super Falcons Squad Nigeria’s Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, says he’s optimistic of building a solid team with the array of talents at his disposal ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup slated for New Zealand and Australia.
Recall the Superfalcons won just 1 game at the first edition of the Women’s Revelation Cup which features country such as Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica. In an interview with TheNFF,com, Waldrum stated that he;s delighted working with the likes of Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie, Ifeoma Onumonu, Rasheedat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Ashleigh Plumptre, Rofiat Imuran and a few to mention.
“I think the current Super Falcons squad is loaded with so many talented players. There are a lot of players that have much to offer in the team and I am reasonably excited and hopeful,” Waldrum told thenff.com “Asisat Oshoala is in great form and we all know what she is capable of. When you add players like Desire Oparanozie, who is also very much in the mix, as well as Ifeoma Onumonu, Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo, no doubt, we have so many effective weapons offensively.
“I am confident that we can build something special with this squad. We have also got some bright players like Rofiat Imuran coming in, in her twenties, same with Tosin Demehin, to go along with experienced players like Osinachi Ohale. “Ashleigh Plumptre has also been a great addition for us at the back. I think I love the strength of the team; it’s just about getting the best eleven to play on the pitch.” |

every 4 years yorubas and igbos always have a go at each other DrTee1: Hold on.
Why does it look to me that all these lawyers are either from the 3 Geopolitical Zones in Northern Nigeria or the South West?
If that is true, it would suggest that there is no South Eastern lawyer in the team - where the biggest complainants, Labour Party and Peter Obi, are from.
It would suggest something really Tribal. |

the points is you still think Ordega hasn't past her best, also you think Oparanozie is our solution upfront the fact you can't see they are past their best make me think you'll be worse than waldrum Deltamani: I talk about almost all the Superfalcon players (99%) of them weda good or bad, even the ones that are on international wilderness like Esther Sunday, Ebere Orji, I bring out points we debate about them, so I wonder why talking about Fransisca Ordega will bring about you labeling me doing worst if I’m to coach the Superfalcons..
Recently Onyi Echegini was the one I was writing about back and forth..
I did same for Macleans Chinonyerem sometime ago and someone here was saying that I’m doing that for my own interest…😂😂😂 |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by isan(m): 8:49am On Mar 06, 2023 |
Ex - internationals that haven't coach a senior team in how many years ? Deltamani: Yes I will continue to clamor for Florence Omagbemi, Mercy Akide Udoh coaching the Superfalcons.. But have only done this on the basis of if the NFF can’t afford a World Class Coach like Morocco, Algeria and England have now then they should settle for the Ex-internationals… Or do you think there are better options among the Nigerian Coaches?? |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by isan(m): 8:11am On Mar 06, 2023 |
if you're super falcons coach you'll be way worse than waldrum, i think you're still dreaming of a front 3 of Oshoala oparanozie and Ordega with Okobi behind them and energetic ayinde running box to box with hard tackling chikwelu protecting the back 4 wake we have past that era , maybe that's why you keep calling for omagbemi to come restore your favorite line up Deltamani: She hasn’t really lost much of her pace, she’s more of an experienced and skillful player now.. She’s doing well for CSKA Moscow women But haven’t found herself with the Superfalcon.. |

Ordega has past her prime Deltamani: US Women Soccer is all about Athleticism, once you have got this you’re good to go..
That’s one of the main reason Fransisca Ordega was able to play there for years…. I just wish, that Ordega can regain that form where she’s unplayable, delivering excellent pullouts into the Box… |

maybe it's even Tinubu that advice buhari to send soldiers to lagos to curb violence when he's declare winner of the election but everybody including Reno omokri thought it's to stop Tinubu from buying votes Nbote: And yet Aduda wanted the legislative elections wanted cancelled because he lost out .
These politicians are way ahead of us. They foresaw an EndSars ProMax protest in the aftermath of Tinubu win and sent in Soldiers and here we were thinking it was to curb electoral violence and ballot snatching. They gave wins to the people in the major hotspot Lagos and Abuja as a distraction while reducing the margin to the barest minimum so they can make up for it in other states.. |

Four takeaways from Super Falcons’ indifferent outing at the Revelations Cup: Waldrum, Oshoala, Echegini Nigeria ended their adventure at the Revelations Cup in Mexico with a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Costa Rica early on Wednesday morning.
The Super Falcons, with the narrow win, finished as the third-best team at the four-nation invitational tournament.
Here are the major talking points around the team’s ten-day stay in Mexico
1 Randy Waldrum does not know his best eleven yet American tactician Randy Waldrum has been at the helm of the Super Falcons’ coaching affairs for over two years after taking the job in October 2020.
Still, the 66-year-old is not fully aware of how best to deploy the talents at his disposal.
Waldrum is undecided about whether Ashleigh Plumptre is a left-back, centre-back, or defensive midfielder.
Osinachi Ohaleis Waldrum’s first-choice centre-back, but the issue of who will pair the 31-year-old is still unclear. Onome Ebi, Demehin, and Plumptre have taken turns beside her to little success.
The same could be said in midfield, where only Benfica’s Christy Ucheibe has a settled role, with the other two positions up for grabs. There is so much to say about the attack.
2. Ifeoma Onumonuis not Nigeria’s best alternative to Asisat Oshoala Tall, strong, and a hard worker, Onumonu is the prototype of any manager’s ideal forward.
But the Super Falcons have not seen nor enjoyed much of her goalscoring prowess.
While the Rancho Cucamonga-born striker has a decent record in front of goal at the club level, she only has two goals for Nigeria in 14 appearances.
With Waldrum keeping faith with the 28-year-old, the goals have dried up for the Falcons. The team managed just one goal in three games in Mexico despite creating several chances.
Uchenna Kanu and Esther Okoronkwo must be given more time to stake their claims to a starting shirt.
3. The Super Falcons need Asisat Oshoala While the Nigerian national women’s team has struggled for goals on the continent and beyond, the Barcelona forward has been a consistent goalscoring machine in the Spanish Primera Division Femenina.
The Falcons registered only three goals in their last eight games, losing seven. Oshoala, on the other hand, has found the back of the net 15 times in 10 appearances in 2023 alone.
Nigeria failed without her at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the Revelations Cup. Efforts should be made to get her firing at the 2023 FIFA World Cup.
4. Echegini is Nigeria’s best creative outlet Jennifer Onyi Echegini finally made the Super Falcons starting lineup against Costa Rica, and she showed off her immense talents even at such a young age.
The 21-year-old was easily Nigeria’s best player on the pitch, with her movement and composure on the ball causing several difficulties for the opponents.
Echegini crowned her display with the assist for the Falcons’ only goal in Mexico, and it will be interesting to see how head coach Randy Waldrum unleashes her at the World Cup.
