As young as Gombe state is, we have 3 universities one owned by the Federal government that is Federal University of Kashere and two by the state government namely Gombe State University and Gombe state university of science and technology kumo with other numerous tertiary institutions that includes Federal college of education, State college of education Billiri, School of health technology Kaltingi, State polytechnic Bajoga, School of Islam and legal studies Nafada, Federal college of Horticulture and School of nursing and midwifery. Indeed Gombe state is a Jewel in the Savannah. God bless our visionary governors Hashidu, Danjuma Goje and Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and I hope our incoming Governor will have the zeal to continue from where Dankwambo stopped
