If the matter ever makes it to the court an affair between an employer and employee will be seen as coercion and rape. Just because people got away with it doesn’t make it not rape.

In this case, the burden of high expectation is on the person who wields the power. A lot of people have married their rapist, it doesn’t mean the act of rape did not happen. Not every one can quit their jobs because of harassment and the law will always side with the person with less power.

It's all semantics, sir. Consensual sex between an employer and employee who are both adults and of sound mind is not rape. This is where false accusation arises from.

Well we will agree to disagree. I searched online if a househelp can consent to sex with an employer in Nigeria and the answer was an emphatic no. Whether it’s statutory or full blown, rape is rape and sex with someone who can’t consent is rape.

I have seen videos of the maids who developed an intimate relationship with their bosses which led to marriage. Is that rape?? A maid can’t reject sexual advances without repercussions from her powerful boss. She’s only called their relationship by its legal term.

She never said the maid is a minor, she said most likely younger. Younger than what? 100 years?. Unless Paul’s ex lied under oath, there are legal documents that claims he slept with his maid and the court annulled his marriage on the basis of that document.

I completely disagree. Sex between an adult and a minor is classified as statutory rape whether or not it is consensual, but forced intercourse with an unwilling party is full blown rape. Anita cited infidelity as one of the grounds for seeking divorce and she used the word "affair with the housemaid" in her deposition. This suggests intercourse between two consenting adults. The Tweeter wrote that he coerced/raped the housemaid, which in itself is a very serious accusation and must be backed by evidence. Failure to provide evidence is deemed as defamation and that is a crime. He has a case because since she stated, by her own words that he is a rapist, the onus lies on her to provide proof to back this accusation. Paul is allowed to seek damages if she can't provide the evidence.

Which law? The law covers presenting allegations as facts without proof? Was she a witness or privy to the alleged rape? Does she know the victim of this rape? Does she have any relationship with the victim? Is she privy to any private knowledge of the true circumstances of the alleged rape?

See, unless she has any of the above and is not simply parroting rumours (which she obviously is because she mentioned "way likely younger" in her tweet, suggesting mere speculation), it is best she hides her head and pray it blows over, because if it does not and Paul makes good his threat, then she is in hot water . You don't know how terrible false accusation is until you become a victim yourself.

I am forced to agree. Any lady that asks for date dress money is skanky. I can't even imagine showing up to a date dressed in clothes bought by a man one is not intimately involved with on any level. That is so cheap.
