Vo:So describe your program for me?
Me: I am going for my masters in food science and my major is animal science. My research will focus on poultry particularly on the effect of ghrelin in feed consumption and pulmonary hypertension as it affects Nigerian poultry and chicken consumption.

VO: what do you intend to do after your study?
Me: I plan to come back to Nigeria and work with regulatory agencies like, Federal Ministry of Health, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). NAFDAC is currently embarking on a project to reduce the rejection of exported poultry products as well as to reduce the challenges of food borne illnesses facing the country. SO, a master’s degree in food science WITH ANIMAL SCIENCE MAJOR will give me the required skills and knowledge needed to tackle these issues. A lot of universities need researchers in Animal Science most especially poultry physiology. My Alma Mata needs a poultry physiologist and Professor XXXXX has informed the departmental board that I will be joining them after my study in the states so that we will have at least 2 poultry physiologist in the department and He will be able to rest as he is getting old.

Vo: How do you want to pay for the cost?
Res: My Dad who's the CEO of XXXGlobal Concept. They are into importation ,trading and distribution of LG brand both home appliances and electronics. I have his statement here with me .. VO:What are you doing now?
Me: I am a banker because that is the opportunity I got after school but because of my interest in research and academics, I volunteer working weekends and my holidays with Professor Bleep of Department of animal science, Bleep University. I have three projects under him, Two published and the last one in process. They are 1.Bleep 2.xxxx 3.xxxx

VO:How do you hear about the school?
I first knew about this school through a publication on turkey in the journal of poultry science .I also made use of professional sites such as Institute Graduate centre for animal science , international livestock research institute, to come up with list of schools offering masters in animal and food science, then I came up with 3 schools I applied to.


VO: Why do you choose this University?
Me: I chose this University because they offered broad courses in food and animal sciences .Their program incorporate field work with basic course. They combine animal science and food safety as specialization which is my area of interest. Also, they have this ongoing project I checked into which is the effect of passive immunization against ghrelin on feed and water intake in poultry to improve poultry production in sub-saharan Africa”. This project has the potential to tackle challenges of ghrelin in poultry which is one of the issues which have been identified as a problem in Nigeria.
