Its not a problem!

1&2. Courses are limited for summer and you are making it more. difficult limiting yourself to a location. Cast your net wide both course wise and location wise!

3. It can be difficult, especially when you are planning to learn in a non German speaking country but very doable. You wanna start your Bsc in German, I will advise not when you have an English option. Learn German very well for hustle and not for academics
4. B2? Nothing less than a year!
I hope you find them useful?
Good luck!
Thanks very much . I check through anabin but couldn't find my school (institute of management and technology, enugu) hope this won't be a catalyst?
once again thanks very much.

Inline with what Eke has advised,

1) I know Rhine waal, Ravensburg, and some other university which I came across offers these courses. If you already have a university degree, then you can use your 100 level transcript to apply for studies. Even people wey dey study for english never pass finish, you wan go chook ya head for german taught course.. isokay oo.. the Lord is your strength wink.

2) As for your sponsor, dont be limited to a particular region. cast and spread ur net wide. dont be drawn into learning in german cos you may not find it easy. in as much he'll be sponsoring you, you can study anywhere in germany.

3&4) Attaining B1 in Nigeria will cost you 9months of teaching/lectures, while B2 will last for 15months (may be wrong though but its definately more than a year). Since you will be applying via studienkollege (assuming you dont have your first degree) then you need to take the german class serious cos Its not that easy. you need to attain 65% in all your three test/exams to cross over to the next class. A2 is where the challenges starts but its doable.

In all, put God first.

Thank you brother you guys are eyes opener, thanks, now I really know that kaki is different from leather. I will continue to search for school that will offer my course in English irrespective of the location and later relay it to my sponsor.

I read some post about "statement of result". my school has not given us the original result, I only have the statement, hope this will be accepted during admission process?

Good day everyone. More greece to your elbows for the good info in this thread, God will continue to strengthen you guys.

Please I have questions that has been bothering me.

1. I haven't seen any school that will offer mechanical or mechatronics engineering in English come this summer.

2. My sponsor ask me to search for schools nor too far from bonn, or Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Aachen even if the course are taught in german.

3. How difficult is german language? Nor be say person go embark on something, person nor go come out with good results because I intend to go for Msc immediately after my Bsc.

4. How long will it take me to acquire B1 here in Nigeria as most of the German course requirements requires B1 or B2.

Thanks as await reply.

I really do not know of any school I can recommend but I know for a fact that daad.de is your best bet at getting the information you require.

That been said, I will share with you the steps I took in preparation for my applications, you have a bit of time to put things together without the stress that comes with the late rush for submission.

Note: If you can, please try and go for Goethe's summer language class this august. It will save you 3 months of language class for the same A1 certification. Since you are going for a B.Sc course, you will need the German language certificates before you can even apply (except the English taught courses if you can find them and I think even those still require A1 certificate).

1. List out all the schools that offer your choice course and select those with the best fit criteria for you. e.g Hustle, economic state of the city, ranking of the school, location of the school. etc. Also list out important details/requirements of each school under them. e.g Documents to be submitted, required test score, application procedure and deadlines. etc.

2. Immediately (maybe not but soon) book your IELTS/TOEFL exam. You do have the option of choosing a later date for your exam so as to prepare appropriately. The result of the exam is valid for 2years so it will surely suffice for your applications come September. Another advantage of taking the exam early is that you have the chance to improve your score if it becomes necessary as you will still have enough time to do that.

3. Get all your documents ready! This is very important because the processing times for some of your documents may be weeks. e.g Transcript (if applicable), certificates, reference letters and notarization. Early preparation also avails you the time to have as many draft copies of your statement of intent as you require to get the best so your best foot comes forward first.

4. Send test emails to the schools to request clarifications about their requirements and selection processes. Also do well to scrutinize the course content of your select course so you don't end up with courses you weren't expecting. e.g. (I took to my heels after realizing that my choice course in TUHH was filled with computer programming when all I wanted were core data communications courses).

5. Once all steps 1 - 4 are set then you are good to go. From experience, it really doesn't matter when your application gets to them, evaluations will only be done when the selection committees sit to make their decisions. So you can send your applications with 2months to spare. Testimonies abound and are varied about the delivery timelines of Nipost but 2 things are sure about them: They are the cheapest (regular nipost and not EMS oo) and they will always deliver! Timelines vary from 10 - 30 working days so you can be rest assured that your applications will get to their destinations before application closes.

The bosses in the house can give more tips to help you succeed.

Best wishes...
This is great! I must say the truth. This is the first time to get such a wonderful Tips on Nairaland from you and dolpaz. you guys made my day. as TOEFL/ IELT, I made some confirmations today and was told I will spend the sum of $300 for the exam and registration.
Once again thank you very much. I will always update the house with my progress

Hello,

First of all, My name is Dolpaz nicht doplaz undecided

Now that you know your HND cant apply for M.sc , your best bet is B.sc. what's your initial field and what would you like to study in deutschland? as for this Winter admission, I doubt if you can still make it, simply because most schools, if not all have made their decisions. admission letter have been churned out to successful applicants, but its better to try than not to try at all..

So what you need to do is start preparing for Summer admission. some schools open their portals for admission as early as August, while most schools starts around september, but deadlines spans across November-Dec 15. in some cases, January 15. that being said, you need to start preparing the following documents asap:

HND/OND Transcripts

Certificates

professional Qualifications

IELTS/TOEFL

But for added advantage, add your work experience, motivation letter and CV.

But please note, even if your course is taught in english, I'd advise you to learn german here, even at the basics level. if you are in lagos, Goethe institute is offering an Intensive one month summer course this august, try and attend so as to boost your chances.

Compile your documents, search for schools offering your courses on DAAD, then send your application.

One more secret, please its advisable you apply to schools under Uniassist so as to boost your chances. Direct applications have stiff and competitive selection process.

These are my humble contribution."Gothe

Gemeinsam sind wir starke ! wink wink
wow!
Thank you very much for this, am so grateful.

I studied mechanical engineering and I will like to go for either mechatronics or physic

As for the "Goethe institute" already planning for it.

As for the name, Noted!

Vielen Dank.

Good day everyone.
Thanks to everyone here, I have learnt alot since I keen my eyes on this thread.
I was the one that ask if HND, would be enough to go for masters direct, but I was given a recommendations to brace up with Bsc, due to time (July 15) , am not sure I will be able to meet up this summer semester, and I have also search for schools that admits on winter semester but i have not come out with a positive answer, but if anybody knows one, should kindly relate to me and also in arrangement to prepare down for the next admission sets, what should I start preparing down? Am I to attend Gothe language institute now(summer) or it's after I have gained admission?
For TOEFL& IELT exams, when it's the best time to write it. Please I need a breakdown of what I should start with.

Thanks, I will be glad if someone could give me a guide through.
@doplaz, @obiwann @pompidoI throw way cap for una contributions to this lovely thread.

For the records, I applied for the Nigeria Navy DSSC of 2015 waiting for the names of shortlisted candidates by next week. I got an SMS with Nigeria Navy as the sender on the 25th June 2015 from a purported scammer who said he wants to help me get shortlisted and also land the job. The SMS is as follows:

"Nigerian Navy direct short service commission course 23 closes on 28th June 2015. 6th July 2015 we will shortlist candidates to participate in the aptitude test which will hold on Saturday 11th July 2015 at 8.00am. Call me if you need help i can assist you. +2348166052388"

I got another SMS from him again on 2nd July 2015 thus:

"Aptitude Test will hold on Saturday 11th July 2015 at 8:00am. Call me on +234166052388 if you want me to help you on shortlisting your name"

I added him on whatsapp but found out he is not on it so i called him this morning to give him the warning of his life thus:

Me: Hello Good Morning
Navy DSSC Scammer: Hello Good morning

Me: I got this SMS from Nigerian Navy asking me to call this number for help to be shortlisted. Who are you and how did you get my number
Navy DSSC scammer: I got the number from our database, i want to help you get shortlisated.

Me sadin my mind, no be only database na databoss) I dont need your help and please remove my number from your contact list whenever you are sending that SMS or else i will hunt you down and hand you over to the authorities- !!!!!
Navy DSSC scammer: You are silly, i want to help you shortlist your name you are talking nonsense. I will make sure you are not shortlisted.

Me: ( see me see wahala ooo, na by force to help me?) Scammmerrrrrr.....I just hanged up!!!!

I sent him the below message and up till now he has not replied, maybe he is now scared!!! grin

"Be on the look out because i am going to get you wherever you are. I advice you watch your back because i will trace you. I have all your deatils now so is a matter of time before i get you and hand you over to the authorities. Bloody cheap scammer!!!!"

Did anyone one get this same text messages from this SCAMMER
I think he got my number from the Navy DSSC thread on Nairaland where we wanted to create a whatsapp group in order to be updated about the Nigeria Navy DSSC Job.

Thank You.
I received both messages, didn't even bothered, I know they are scammers..... na only mugu go fall for them..... anyway thanks for dealing with him..

Yes Sir, you will have to start afresh. but according to research, you may apply for higher semester/credit transfer if you have already attained a similar bachelor program. but your first semester result need to be awesome. This is for Bsc holder applying for another Bsc program, dont know aber HND.

As for your sponsor sir, he needs to make above 1,500 euros monthly after tax or so. Also, he should have a clean record (Good police record, up to date tax payment, e.t.c) and some other solvency checks will be carried out.

what's your discipline in HND?
Thank you very much.
I studied mechanical engineering ( grade; upper credit).

so for now, where should I start from, because September is so close, I guess the earlier I start, the better for me.
Once again, thank you very much.

Bros,

this is my little and candid advise

No University will grant you admission for Msc with HND. Your HND is as good as a University entrance qualification in Germany. am so sorry bro but at this point, you have to take away the fantasies and face the real music.

Start bracing up for next summer Bachelors application which will start from September. apply for ielts, gather your transcript, search for schools and differentiate the ones with direct application and Uni-assist

register on uni-assist platform and get prepared.

Good luck bro

Mein zwei loffel !
Thank you very much, am grateful for your reply. ok will preparing, but as for the sponsorship, what will dey ask or demand from him.
so with my HND ,I have to start afresh?

Good evening everyone, am so happy reading people response to questions here, God will surely bless your efforts. Please I have few questions to ask as regards to my search on german universities.

1. Can someone with HND do his masters degree in any german university directly because some school I made research on says Bsc or equivalent.

2. If NO to the above question, which year will I start from, for a Bsc or will I have to start afresh?

3. I have made research on the following schools, any idea on how the schools might be in terms of admission, tuition, life in the environment and other things.

a.) Fachhochschule köln
Colgne university of applied science (Masters in mechatronics)

b.) FH-Aachen university of applied science. (Masters in mechatronics)

c.) Hamburg university of technology. (Masters in mechatronics)

4. What documents will they be needing from my sponsor.

5. How do start preparing/applying for it as against January (winter) with HND.

Thanks, I will be very happy if I get a reliable answers in details. God bless.
