Does red blood cell really need energy to drive its process? If yes, where does it get it from? If it is from HMP shunt pathway, i saw a text that said HMP shunt does not generate energy, how then does redblood cell get its energy?

2) if a diabetic patient metabolise fructose faster than glucose due to fructose metabolism pathway bypassing the insulin dependent enzyme found in glycolysis, therefore; fructokinase instead of hexokinase, also, bypassing phosphofructokinase to produce glyceraldehyde3phosphate using aldolaseB and triose kinase enzyme, how then is the glyceraldehyde3phosphate produced in the fructose metabolism which enters glycolysis able to bypass insulin dependent pyruvate kinase?

3) since anearobic glycolysis occur in redblood cell, what oxidizes the oxidative phase of HMP shunt pathway?

1. Ignore all the stories you've heard about it. Write your own story.

2. What is expected of you is the basics. You can be pardoned for not knowing highfalooting stuffs but the basics? Not likely.

3. Know your normal CHO metabolism plus the various connections between the pathways. Rate limiting points and enzymes extremely important. Ignore chemical structures of those molecules, just know the basics like glucose, fructose, etc.

4. There are some pathways that are constant questions anywhere, irrespective of the school. Eg, urea cycle. Identify regular pathways that turn up in exams and know them.

5. You may not be asked to write long pathways. Rather, they'd synthesize questions from the pathways and their medical application (especially). But whenever you come across a short pathway, KNOW IT! it's a likely exam question.

6. KNOW YOUR STORAGE DISEASES.

7. Most importantly, start early.

I know I've missed thousands of more important points but the above would get you going, at least. My chiefs would add up when they see your post.

My first Dissecting session didn't meet my expectations. The cadavers made available for us were so... Don't know how to describe but I will say they have lost all human features. So stiff and dried up. We were not able to appreciate any structure. I don't know if it's the norm in medicine school or its just a case of bad circumstance

My guy, u tried, ur score was above 200 atleast, buh lets step up our game and see how admission to medicine can come through.

Except u'lld want to apply to a state school, even at that, 208 is kindof low dont u think? Microbiology will be hard to get with that if u ask me.

its a herculian task to get medicine with that score in any public school except you've got connections even with post utme but you can score at least 300 in unical and get dentistry depending on your state of origin though

Ur reply/advise should have been medicine inclined alone.

That's what the dude wants to know about considering his jamb score. Dont try to infuse Dentistry to it. Dentistry is a brand on its own.

Thanks bro, I'm leaning towards dentistry because it's good for me in the long run (I've been doing research since early secondary school days). And since I get to watch my shows either way then I'll stick to it.

I wish people could see this.. Buh painful medicine is a trap for real...

Don't be confused bruh, don't mix medicine and dentistry, don't substitute one for another..u might regret at the end of the day.

Choose one that u have passion for and read terribly hard for it.
It is 6ix years. Once u are done, I am not sure u will regret it.

Pay comes in cool. Pending on which ever u choose, u'll have time to watch GOT!

I was in dentistry there before. UNN also accepts 2.2 in any basic medical or biological science course for Medicine too. However, the candidate has to score up to 320 or above in its post-DE (similar to post-utme). Even if you graduated with 2.1 and scored low in its post-DE, while a 2.2 degree holder scored high, UNN will offer admission to the 2.2 degree holder first.
