This Algeria Tanzania game may go on to become a rout. |
darkelf:No need to gloat. Play him in the right position and he may yet churn out Pirlo-esque performances. Besides, your earlier constant criticism of Mikel came at a time he was playing well and therefore was out of place. It's just a lucky coincidence he's had a bad start to the AFCON Darkelf. |
Mikel jumps at the Trabzonspor deal seeing that a move to a Sheffield or Norwich is no longer feasible with his dire showing in the AFCON so far. Practically, had to call Trabzonspor officials over the phone to strike a deal. No medicals, nothing. God dey. |
edi287:Such decisions makes one question the man as a coach. Starting Mikel repeatedly in that AM role with no end result can make some employers throw the man out. Not everyone is so forgiving. If you remove Ndidi from that midfield I'm sorry for what will happen against a lethal team. Come to think of it, Etebo who's being played in that double pivot is not even a 4 as far as I know. So in essence, it's a cut and join midfield. |
Curtisaxel7:LWKMD! My ribs!!! |
An extra thin midfield. I wonder what it would be like without Ndidi. Quality young reinforcements are needed, to be groomed into players that can fill the very big boots of playing senior team football. Picking from the age grade team : Okon Makanjuola Oforborh Tom Dele-Bashiru. |
On a brighter note.

Matches with Mikel as Attacking Midfielder; England 2-1 Nigeria Czech Republic 1-0 Nigeria Croatia 2-0 Nigeria Argentina 2-1 Nigeria Nigeria 0-0 Burundi till substitution. Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria Rohr continues to mess up by starting Mikel as an AM. This is inexcusable as it obvious to even the blind that such move is catastrophic. I counted more than 7 forward passes from Iwobi after he came on. |
kennysville:Is Mikel the Referee? |
The CAF President is influencing this game from wherever he is. Ahmad Ahmad influencing the Referee's calls.. |
Who even predicted this game will be 0-0? |
Today Nigerian fans especially the ones on this thread will learn to appreciate Iwobi. |
Many will not like to hear this but Mikel is not playing anything. Well, so far. |
Stupid interplay gifts Madagascar a goal. I was just about posting that the early exchanges in the Midfield shows there's a lack of quality in the middle and gbam Madagascar score. |
Thank God for the quality of this pitch. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:All these hermaphrodite sef. Ke way? |
Patiently waiting for the exposing of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. |
Earthquake3:It is not about the size of the club else Madrid will always be in the news. It's against using state funds and other funds not generated from the club business to service purchase of players, PSG came under investigation after the purchases of Neymar and Mbappe and they only just wiggled out of that case this month or so. Man City were found guilty in 2014. |
You should not say that Chukwueze was poor in the first match in order to prove Simon played well when he started. Some of you are very unscrupulous elements. Chukwueze played well in the first match and was ranked best only behind Aina in that match at 7.9. Simon played well in the second match delivering the assist to the lone goal. That Simon played well in the second match does not mean Chukwueze played badly the match before. That is a bad angle frequently imported by few here when discussing players nobody ever calls out. You pull down one player to promote another. are they not all playing for the same team. If you had put Simon in that Burundi game do you know how poorly he would have played against such negative football? Would he be able to beat one single player? Would he even see the space to cross? Stop rubbishing one player's effort to prove another player should play. This is not a healthy argument and in little time we will soon start seeing the negative results. Nacho saga has still not ended on this thread. Try to be balanced in your summation. |
andrew444:This guy you're savage sha. |
darkelf:You should take these stories with a pinch of salt. I stated yesterday that most of these stories are bullshït. Why? All the stories contradict themselves. Therefore I didn't take them seriously. Someone then said I'm "believing what I want to". Can you see the error of that statement now? You see Darkelf, in this life hardly anything transcends "discernment". The majority don't just have it and I'm sorry. |
Humility017:That reminds me. I was actually surprised by Simon's deliveries throughout the game. I didn't think he could cross that well. He delivered all the kicks excellently. I'm almost driven to thank La Liga once again for another improved player. Excellent deliveries! |
TheGoodJoe:Be careful what you wish for. |
And it's 3 - 2! |
2 - 2. |
Prectega:They're all siblings at their level na. Did you expect Burundi will thrash Madagascar like our friend Ankrah? They're all the same nonsense teams. |
1 - 2 HT. Looking Good. |
On a good note, there's not so much jam body football in this edition of AFCON. |

comodo:The Ref is making questionable calls. |
Mbaye Diagne is only just coming in. Is Niang actually a better striker?! |
Too many fouls in the SEN ALG match. Senegal interplay is not top notch or maybe it's just this match. Belaili has been a handful for the young RB Wague, the lad can hardly keep up .. The North Africans not surprisingly, playing some nasty football: elbows, kicks and all.. |
