Why is it easier to believe in science than to believe in God? Only by faith can you believe God and that is the essence of Christianity. I have also been at the point when I started to feel there was no point believing in God. I tried to join the world as a free thinker but then I saw it was even harder being on the other side. No peace. When something bigger than you happens and you are emotionally overwhelmed do you reach out to science? Does science give you hope? Everything including science was created by God. The great things done with science are also inspired by God but he wont force anyone to believe in him. |
How is it that the more Buhari fight corruption, the worse the situation of the economy? |
It's quite sad that someone being paid to protect lives and properties would call for Jungle justice. Hopefully NSCDC will take appropriate action against this officer if truly he is a member of the corps.

mrvitalis:As long as our infrastructures remain under developed, production will not increase at a rate fast enough for growth. The high exchange rate will only hurt the masses more. |
The rich can't expect to have peace when there are so many hungry people in the society. That is why developed countries spend a lot of money on providing basic necessities for the less privileged and jobless. If you don't take care of them, they will fix you. |

If you plan to visit Uganda anytime soon, then you may want to pay attention to this. The Uganda government has contracted the supply of porn detection machines to a South Korean company and the delivery is expected this August. According to Kenya news media New Vision, the Ethics state minister Fr. Simon Lokodo a former catholic priest, ordered for the machines in the bid to strengthen his fight against pornography in the country. The minister says the machine will detect, control and scrutinize porn on mobile handsets and other electronic devices. Lokodo also said an anti pornography committee has been appointed to conduct the implementation of the anti-pornography law. "We have appointed the anti-pornography committee, but it had not been launched due to lack of finance, but the government has now approved the money to activate the operations." Lokodo said According to Act, Part (III) on prohibition of pornography under the anti-pornography law states that subsection (I) a person shall not produce, traffic in, publish, broadcast, procure, import, export, sell or abet form of pornography . Subsection (2) states that a person who produces or participates in production of, traffic in, publishes , broadcasts, procures, import, exports or in any way abets pornography contrary to subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable ,on conviction, to a fine not exceeding five hundred currency points or imprisonment not exceeding 10 years or both. http://www.exhalenaija.com/uganda-acquires-porn-detection-machine/ |
Isn't it violation of copyright to download YouTube Videos? Why is Nairaland promoting piracy? |
Most clueless CBN administration I've ever known. With Inflation at 16%, CBN is rolling out mundane policies like account opening balance. Better go back to the drawing table and come up with solutions to our serious economic problems that do not involve trial and error for once. |
There’s this argument that all men cheat and that it is needless to leave a man because he cheated except you want to end up with another cheater since all men cheat. I once vowed that my boyfriend would never cheat on me. He almost never left my side and never failed to introduce me to everyone as his wife to be. Gentle, soft spoken and almost too doting, I had no reason to worry about unfaithfulness and I was strongly opinionated about my friends’ boyfriends who cheated on them. I saw no reason why any one should stay with a man after he is caught cheating. Then one day, I picked up my boyfriends tablet to watch a movie and what I saw shocked me beyond words. An explicit facebook message of a sexual encounter with a girl and how he couldn’t wait to see her again. I confronted him and he denied it with silly and unbelievable excuses that I don’t even remember. Even though I didn’t believe it, I found myself unable to break up with him. We had been together for several years and he was my world. I felt a pang of guilt when I remembered how I vehemently encouraged my friends to leave their boyfriends when they cheated and here I was unable to conceive the thought of breaking up with mine. I told myself the same thing I hated to hear. What if the next guy I meet also cheats? In the real sense, should one condone a cheating boyfriend or husband? How do you deal with the situation knowing the trust has been broken? Do you just pack up and leave or forgive him knowing he is likely to do it again? How many times does he have to cheat before you call it quits or do you just resign to fate and let yourself believe it is a norm that all men cheat? Only in Nigeria will this happen. Yet he had the effrontery to say he was right. Do you know what all the people you got angry by the silly jokes you tell to make money would have done to you if we all coultl hit people because they got us angry? You definitely are lacking a lot in the sense department. |
As oil marketers begin to source for their own foreign exchange from the banks and parallel market, the rise in the exchange rate will be astronomical which will be passed on to the consumers. Nigerians should brace up for tougher times. The problem with this dispensation is mental laziness. Instead of sitting down to think and provide workable solutions that will make the life of their citizens better, they roll out quick fixes that worsens an already bad situation and from their comfort zones they tell the hapless masses that it will have to get worse before it gets better. We all know that the only people suffering are the poor masses. This government does not feel our pain. We must demand that the government do the job they are paid to do. Go back to the drawing table and come up with meaningful solution. |

It seems Buhari is practising voodoo economics. How do you peg both CBN and interbank rate ?. How do you also expect an ailing economy to survive a 67% increase in fuel price? The government must support the importers to enable them continue to source for forex at the CBN rate for now. The effect of fuel increase is spiral. Prices of good and services will increase by more than double. The government should support the economy till it is able to withstand the shock. When the country is stable enough, then the government can completely deregulate the oil sector. |

I received money through Western Union with my GTBank account at N189.92 to a dollar. Meanwhile the same bank charged N285 per dollar when I withdrew dollars abroad. That is highly ridiculous. buying at 189 and selling at 285 ? This is the reason why some forces keep the exchange rate ridiculously high by hoarding it. The banks have formed a racketeering cartel to rip people off. This is unfortunate. Buhari should spread his anti-corruption haunt to the banks!!! |
I've been dating my fiancé for four years and we recently got engaged. In the second year of our relationship we had an argument and he beat me. I forgave him and he never laid his hands on me since then. However, he threatend to beat me a couple of times when we had heated argument but never did. Apart from this, he is like an angel. very attentive and caring. My dilemma now is that a couple of people have told me 'if a Man ever lays a hand on a woman she should not marry him because he will eventually turn out to be violent and a wife beater after the marriage'. I've developed cold feet since then and I'm beginning to have second thought about the marriage. Should I marry him or not? |
It is so saddening that the Nigerian Government is just looking on and watching as a group of people destroy the peace and national Unity of our Nation. The perpetrators of this evil are even bold enough to come out and claim victory for their devilish acts, yet the people we voted and trusted are doing nothing. It is very pathetic that Boko Haram is enjoying so much media attention and no one is being punished for all the heineous crime committed so far. It would not be surprising if Amnesty is proposed again as a solution to Boko Haram's hunger for blood. It is a shame to live in a country where barbaric acts are tolerated and even rewarded while good works are not reconized . I guess all we can do now is pray to God almighty for our protection. |
