idumuose: This morning as I was getting ready for work,a friend of mine called me to say
since I am a regular user of social media,I should assist him in recruiting
people who are fluent in spoken english to register with various social media for
an important assignment.I asked him what kind of assignment it was,he said APC
is recruiting people to write against GEJ's government on social media.
He said that this is another way APc is generating employment for Nigerian
youths.He said I haven't seen anything yet.Paid agents will visit various markets in order to disparage Jonathan's govt
Even though I was not asked to join them,I have a conscience as I cannot be
a party to this falsehood and propaganda for a paltry sum of N13,500 per month.

Ceorhemz: You know this APC, PDP issue is getting into everything now. The man is APC member from Kano. Mcain lost to Obama, but i've never heard him talking against America or Obama. Obama won hilary in his political party, yet Hilary was part of Obama's cabinet. Cant we just put this party issue aside and do what is the best for this country

davidylan: I completely disagree with you. Its quite funny to claim that the reason nigerian's are much tougher emotionally is because we have been bullied and beaten down by the government and the society. There are far so many factors and top of them is:

1. The complete and utter lack of a line of authority in American schools. Children here are able to say and do things that we would have found unthinkable as kids... we had teachers and parents to fear... in the US they fear nothing.

2. Proliferation of social media - unlike 1992, kids in schools today spend more than 90% of their time behind a screen of some kind. Nairaland is an example of how being able to hide behind a screen can turn a timid mouse into the loudest lion. Children in the US no longer have the opportunities we had to play outside and TRULY socialize with their friends and neighbours. Today it is all about how many likes you can garner on facebook and how many followers you have on twitter. Back in the day we had REAL friends, today American kids have lists of faceless goons.

3. Medication - As a kid, the only drugs i knew were panadol and chloroquine. Today our kids are drugged up from birth till death. Why wont their brain chemistry be different?

4. Glorification of suicide victims - A kid kills himself and what does the American society do? Plaster their photos all over, hold 1000-man candle-light vigils while calling them the meekest lambs on earth (even by those who only knew them as a screen name). Unfortunately, US kids have learnt that one of the best ways to gain notoriety is to kill yourself. In naija, the mere fear of bringing shame to your family by killing yourself is enough deterrent.

Lastly, before we start spouting away thoughtlessly, let us take a trip down memory lane just 50 yrs ago. How many american kids were killing themselves then? Where was the bullying? Was the country beating down their psyche then?

Aerocrystals: I remember one guy in my secondary school who normaly bed wets every nyt....there waz no type of insults nd bully dat he didnt receive 4rm teachers, seniors, klasmates nd even juniors. Did he commit suicide? No! he had 2 live wit it...instead he adapted 2 new methods dat wuld make him stop d act...nd he eventualy did...abeg mk una shun all dese talk of govt, parents bla bla bla...bullyn makes a black kid stronger. Tk it or leave it

So, in your head his bedwetting stopped because of the mental anguish you and your fellow animals put him through?

What yeye bullying makes African kids stronger? You guys are insane! Bullying kills everyone from the inside out. You want to know if bullying destroys Africans just as it does Americans, go on twitter and search the name @samanthaXsiren and find out how she broke down miserably early this year then tell me if shes Nigerian or American.

Oh, and all the crux of the mental breakdown was from bullying she received years ago at the hands of fellow classmates in Atlantic Hall High School in Lagos.

Bullying is not nice and like someone said, thats why most Nigerians come across as sadists.
