Politics › Re: FRESH AIR In The Nigeria Police Force!! by ISpiksDaTroof:
Sincere 9gerian: The Nigeria Police Force is not been left out in the wind of FRESH AIR blowing across the country. Here are some of the developments in the Nigeria Police in the last 2 years:

1. Complete rehabilitation of the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.

2. Dismantling of police road blocks nationwide. Over the years, police road blocks became an avenue for corruption, and harassment of citizens. Some innocent citizens have even lost their lives from trigger happy police officers at police road blocks. This govt has now dismantled police road blocks and replaced them with motorized patrols and in some cases temporary observation posts.

3. Procurement of about 2,000 patrol vehicles. These patrol vehicles replaced the police road blocks.

4. The marine police have been empowered with patrol boats

5. Introduction of police camouflage uniforms. Unlike their counterparts in other parts of the world, the Nigeria Police didn't have camouflage uniforms.

6. Procurement and deployment of 13 helicopters to boost the flying wing of the police. Helipads are being built in geopolitical zones to facilitate the use of these helicopters.

7. Establishment of police intelligence schools. It is shocking that this never existed.

8. Upgrade of the police intelligence departments. The Nigeria Police Force now has the capacity to listen to phone conversation of criminals.

9. Increased partnership of the police with sister security agencies.

10. Creation of Police Museum.

11. Increased training and re-training of police officers.

12. The police now has its own in-house pension fund. The is to ensure more efficient settlement of entitlement of retired police officers.

13. Construction of modern police housing estates. The first modern police housing estate, the 200-Units Goodluck Jonathan Housing Estate, was commissioned in July 2013. Another 80-Units, the Sunday Badang Housing Estate in Abuja, was commissioned in November 2013. Late sergeant Badang died in an explosion in February 2012 whilst trying to defuse an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Kaduna. These Housing Estates are meant to improve the standard of living of the Nigeria Police officers.

14. Establishment of the police mortgage bank. This is also geared towards better welfare for officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

These and many other internal measures have led to improved performance of the Nigeria Police Force and better security in most parts of the country.
Your Police that still doesnt have adequate finger-printing techniques? Or the One that'll arrive at a crime scene, and instead of securing it and manning the perimeter, takes a bucket of water and starts washing off blood and other valuable evidence? Lmao abeg no kill me with these tales by moonlight.

Ok, you say your Police now has the capability to intercept the calls of criminals: Give me just one instance where an action like this has led to arrest(s) and Prosecution(s).

P.S: Sgt.Sunday Badang did not "die while trying to defuse a bomb", he died while playing with a bomb--- which is what I'll categorize what he was doing--- because any Cop with even half a training wouldve known not to go poking at a IED especially with civilians standing all around him. But who do we blame for his silly method which eventually led to his untimely death? Oh, yeah, I doubt according to you itd be the same Govt thatll claim all these "improvements" on paper (using criminals like yourself) instead of actually funding the police adequately.

Dude, your country is finished and propaganda cant save you this late.

DerideGull: @OP

You were able to cite example of countries such as Finland, Dutch, Norway and France where you claimed citizens are human capital. However the countries can not be compared to Nigeria in terms of internal homogeneity.

Most people in Diaspora are willing to come home if Nigeria is disintegrated thereby creating nation states where people have cultural affinity that could allow citizens to foster unity and patriotism. The need for one is the same for another and state of origin will be a thing of distance past. Nations were merits will replace sectionalism and quota system.

Nobody would want to come to a country where certain groups of people are granted free lunch in the name of quota system. Nigeria represents everything that is wrong with a country.
You need to take your medication more often.

ehixking: Letter to the Diasporan Nigerians by the Naijagraduates

Only a foolish man dances in a neighbours party while he's house is on fire. Dear brothers- you absconded and feels finally you are free. A rich man amongst a thousand poor men is as poor as a church mice. The Naijagraduates have been shouting about the rate of unemployment in our country yet you all wait and watch for a messiah to come from nowhere!
You are nothing but exports like our fathers cocoa. All you do is send money to your families encouraging them to spend sleepless nights at the UK and US embassies and pay bond of thousand of pounds.
Its time to look inward and take advantage of the environment that God has given to us freely. Finland and Norway are one of the most developed countries in the world because of their human capital. You all go abroad and stay back like the you've finally made it.
Quite a number of experts across the world are Nigerians. You will find them in every field of human endeavour. Recent statistics by the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that about 215,000 medical consultants in the United Kingdom are Nigerians. There are quite other professions too where you find Nigerians excelling. Mandella was hospitalised for months and never was it mentioned that he traveled abroad for treatments. 215000 consultants in the UK alone...if all these can form a group like the Naijagraduates and come back home and request for enabling environment we won't see senators, governors or even presidents travelling abroad for treatment. The world is moving at a very fast pace and Nigeria shouldn't be an exception. No matter the length of time you stay abroad, you must come back home. Has the FG bothered to check out how much money embassies such as the British, American, Dutch, French, South African all make in a year from Nigerians? How many Nigerians, legitimate ones, that apply are given these Visas, how many are denied? are these nations responsible to us or the other way round Whatever happens, home is home. There will come a time when those economies will be tired of you because they would have exploited virtually all your endowments and you are left in the cold. Where do you look up to? Only Nigerians can invest in Nigeria. Nigerians in the diaspora should also join us in this fight against unemployment because they are also part of us and if Nigeria was a better place they won't travel abroad in the first place. We want you all to know this is a clarion call and a service to humanity. God should not be blamed for providing us with all we have to be the most powerful black Nation in the world. Even our government shouldn't be blamed too. Why is that most of the people that were regarded failures, pass and third class grade graduates here get outside the nation and excel and do much more better..Let's blame ourselves for refusing to ask questions and demand our rights. We are all guilty of celebrating mediocrity, we are satisfied with poor health facilities. We are satisfied with the absence of social welfare packages for citizens, we are satisfied with Godfatherism. We have been trapped in the web of religious and political drama. By now the scales should have fallen off our eyes. We can now see the actualization of the Nigeria of our dreams coming to reality. This association of unemployed Nigerian graduates looks up to the Nigerians in Diaspora to take charge because you are now exposed to how things are done in the world- in transparency and with the citizens in mind of all. Do anything in your capacity to make this dreams of our come true so you also can come back to your children, parents and society. Join us on facebook.com/naugnigeria for further discussion so we can create an Eldorado for all/jobs for all and peace in Nigeria once again.

Fight for an enabling, codusive and welcoming environment.... task your government on accountability, frown on tribalism and religious madness and I bet you a lot of Nigerians--- even those that were born and raised out here--- will file to Nigeria in droves. But, if you think someone will leave his or her comfort zone to come reside amongst people that will rather act like unthinking animals encouraging corruption and other types of insanity, your dream is taking too long and itd be advisable to slap yourself awake.
Politics › Re: Opinion On Tambuwal As Apc Presidential Candidate? by ISpiksDaTroof: 9:56am On Jan 02, 2014
I would like to point two things out to you.

1. Traditionally there are three major ethnicities in core North - Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri. Of these three only Fulani and Kanuri are rulers of the cultures up there. Neither one of them have a check and balance structure in their ruling system; they rule autocratically. This is why they perform best in uniform. We are no longer in uniform regime, this is Alagbada regime and it demands for check and balances. Fulani and Kanuri system of rulership is apathetic to democratic process in which a society must be ordered along the tiers of checks and balances. This is why sharing power is a hard thing for them to understand. It is also why they succeed in military but fail in democracy.

Everytime the Northerners introduce democracy in their region the place blow up. In the 60s; 80s and now 2000s. Their Emirs and the people are incapacitated by the rigours of checks and balances.

Therefore Buhari's success as a military man is without question and his weakness in agbada is also acknowledged. He is popular for his signature brand - civic discipline; but if he were to install that in our democracy he will ruin the process of balance that exist between the executive, legislature and judiciary. So how do you get a Buhari or any Northerner for that matter and keep sanity in this system?

2. By creating a synthetic arrangement.
Bruh, pls what's all this rubbish you just wrote to me?

Alexbond: what's your own opinon on picking the speaker of house of representative waziri tambuwa as APC presidential candidate? To me i knew tambuwa has presidential ambition as at fourth quarter of 2012 due to some of his articles i read back then,i dnt see anything bad in this because every nigerian has the right.Despite tambuwa is a northerner i don't see him as a better candidate because of the way he handles the house of representative but APC claimed that he is chrismatic this and that also i dont know what tambuwa have done in time past before or after he joined politics that makes him stands out.i mean maybe tambuwa has done expoilt somehere in his profession or during his time in any other office? To be frank Tambuwa been a northerner will fetch him more vote than GEJ in the north and because he is runing on a platform of mainly yorubas will fetch him more votes in the south west summation of this vote i think will give him a edge ahead to the votes coming from but SE and SS i think! and we all know the middle belt is the region to fight for.To me this is the permutation APC is following in other to win the election at all cost even if their candidate did not deliver at the end of the day.I so much wanted to vote for APC if they provide a competent candidate,Some nigerians like myself have regretted making this kind of mistake when we voted for GEJ because of sympathy and not his previous achievement or ability,I think history is about to repeat itself or GEJ till 2019?Despite the fact that many have tested GEJ and he have failed because i dont see any reason why a seating president should not be able to convince the masses for the second term with laudable projects all he has to use now is ethinicity and religious difference but with this i prefer repeating my mistake once again by voting for GEJ rather than a northerner that all his there for is to waste nigeria foreign reserve and personalise crude oil.Having a Yoruba VP is useless because of the constitutional limitation placed on them.I hope APC will change their candidate for the sake of the masses because many will vote for them irrespective of their candidate because they are fed up of GEJ and PDP but this wont help on a long run.Nigerians we have to reason well this time around our political leaders have always been providing clueless vote wininer. You can add to this or remove from it because is just an opinion also insult is allowed but without sentiment.
Vote Tambuwal or anyone else and you might as well vote GEJ.

Theres only one popular politician in Nigeria thats not corrupt, and thats Buhari. The rest are all the same.

Why would sitting governors decamp from a RULING party to OPPOSITION party if not because of tribal bigotry? What is the goal of every politician if not to be in the RULING party? If GEJ was Yar Adua, would 4 northern governors have left a RULING party to the OPPOSITION party? Nonsense! The earlier we flush effluents and tribal bigots like you down the Atlantic Ocean, the better for Nigeria. rudedough: Yes it does matter. A Primary School graduate will think primary school stuff irrespective of age.

A High school graduate will reason on a high school level.

A college graduate will reason and converse like a college graduate.

A Post-graduate degree holder will reason more critically and analyze more independently on a Post graduate level.

A Post-doctorate degree holder will expantiate immensely on a subject, he talks too much but he makes a lot of sense.

There is a trend here and if plotted graphically, you'll note that your critical thinking skills and analyzing potentials increase exponentially as your education progress.

Politics › Re: Govt Created 1.6 Million Jobs In 12 Months – Okonjo - Iweala by ISpiksDaTroof: 1:24am On Dec 31, 2013
contact lenz: The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, says the Federal Government has created 1.6 million jobs in the past 12 months.

Of this number, 432,021 jobs were created during the first quarter of the year.

This, she added, represented about 11.69 per cent increase over the number of jobs created during the fourth quarter of 2012.

Okonjo-Iweala made the disclosure during her presentation at an interactive session with the private sector, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent.

She stated, “We have created 1.6 million jobs in the past 12 months. 431,021 jobs were created in the first quarter of 2013, showing an upward trend in job creation and an increase of 11.69 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2012.”

The minister said a key government programme focused on direct job creation was the Community Service Scheme, which aims to engage 320,000 youths in labour intensive work such as construction and rehabilitation of social and economic infrastructure.

According to her, about 120,000 people have been employed so far under the scheme, which is being anchored by the Subsidy Re-Investment Programme.

She also listed the Graduate Internship Scheme, which aims to attach 50,000 graduates to competent firms to enhance skills development towards employability. She noted that 4,000 graduates had emerged so far under the scheme.

According to Okonjo-Iweala, who spoke on the “Economy’s macroeconomic performance for 2013 and the outlook for 2014,” the Gross Domestic Product growth is expected at 6.75 per cent at the end of 2013, up from 6.61 per cent in 2012.

She recalled that the GDP growth in the first three quarters of 2013 stood at 6.56 per cent, 6.18 per cent and 6.81 per cent respectively.

The minister noted that economic growth during the year had continued to be driven by the non-oil sector.

However, she lamented that the rate of economic growth as well as the quality of growth had been very slow, underscoring the need for improvement.

“Nigeria needs to grow faster in the job-creating sectors at between nine to10 per cent per annum to create the number of jobs needed to substantially reduce poverty,” she said, adding, “GDP rebasing, which is currently in progress, could increase GDP substantially but its impact on growth rates is not yet certain.”

She further noted, “Economic growth needs to be more inclusive as inequality is high and rising in Nigeria; this needs to be reversed.”

In order to achieve this, the minister said the Federal Government would in 2014 make efforts to ‘remove structural bottlenecks’ in sectors as power, ports, rail, roads, communication technology (broadband) and aviation.

Also, there will be an improvement in the business climate and efforts will be made to reduce bureaucracy and fight corruption.

She gave the assurance that the government would in 2014 enact supportive polices for sectoral growth in agriculture, housing, manufacturing, creative industries, solid minerals, oil and gas and petrochemicals, among others.

“We will also build social safety nets for vulnerable women, children, and the disabled to address regional disparities,” she added.
