Kobojunkie: Why? Why does someone who pretends he wants to earn an advanced degree not even have an idea of how much it costs to earn such a degree, even in Nigeria? It does not make sense. Are you attention trolling? Kobo, stop doing this. I didn’t want to use degree to start PhD, I already have my WAEC certificate. And for PhD , I don’t think people pay to get that so I should not concern myself with fee |

Kobojunkie: So, you have not even done your own research as far as these things, but are sure that a PhD is what you desire? Come on naw! Are you trolling or something? I don’t know how much those schools charge. But if they charge $5k in Nigeria of today, no one will go there |

Kobojunkie: The school advertises itself as a Tuition-free establishment(not administrative cost-free). Ask your friends who attend schools in Nigeria and other schools abroad how much they had to pay for tuition, and compare that to $0 for tuition-free schools. So, Nigerians attending UI, OAU, UNIBEN pay up to $5000 in tuition? |

Kobojunkieee: You want to be a lecturer or a lecturer at a particular university? You don't need to have a Ph.D to be a lecturer. Some schools hire Master's holders as lecturers too. They may collaborate with other lecturers to write and do research, too.
So, if working in a particular school like UNIBEN is what you really want, then you should investigate the kind of opportunities at that particular school to know whether you even need a Ph.D at all. Hmmm. This looks good. Didn’t know. I’ll have to seek more information from people that chose that path |

Kobojunkieee: 1. It seems you don't understand what a Ph.D really implies. At this point, I have to ask why you really want to get a Ph.D. Is it merely because you saw a friend do it and it worked out for him?
I would suggest you find what you are really passionate about and work towards that rather than trying to do what you see someone else doing well. Hmm from what I see, u need such a result to get a lecturer position in the university. He followed the route. What I want is to be a teacher in the university and also write research. He write a lot of stuff which i see from the google link he sent to me |

Kobojunkie: You need to have at least a Bachelors degree from an accredited University before you can apply for most PhD programs out there. There are free Bachelor's programs from accredited Universities that you can obtain online.
https://www.uopeople.edu/ Thanks so much The problem here is Nigeria. Looking at how anyhow our universities are, can they give jobs without the PhD being from a Nigerian university, or Germany or UK ? That’s the real question here. Tbh, teaching is my passion and I’m really willing to go back to school My friend do his degree, and PhD everything in UNIBEN so he works there now. According to what he told me, he said he do PhD i think it’s some expert that do that? |
Romance › Re: Can I Start My PhD With Just My WAEC Certificate? by isyourboy(op): 7:11pm On Sep 05, 2025 |
ItShallPass: Yes, very possible. There are some routes you could take to earn yourseod a Ph.D in a year or two, especially using some UK educational institutions. I don't think there's anything like that in Germany.
Also, there are Life Experience Exams you can take to show deep knowledge of a subject matter and earn degrees upon degrees as you pass those exams. Sometimes, after passing the exams, you might be asked to attend one semester of school to finally earn the degree you applied for.
It's very possible and absolutely legal The problem here is Nigeria. Where are you going to get funding for these places you want to go sef? No bSc or MSc yet. I just thought I can use my WAEC to start PhD in these countries |

I’m quite of old age. Going to be 39 in few months. Most people I relied on to help me stand on my feet have either refused to help me, and even at time when they do, they give so little.
My plan is to back to school. Looking at my age, I feel I’m more deserving of a PhD since I know of a guy we went to secondary school together who’s now a lecturer at UNIBEN, and he told me a PhD and some papers or articles he researcher (I don’t know what that really mean) got him the job. I love physics and I had D7 in that which is a pass
Is it possible to do this PhD in a country like Germany 🇩🇪 or Denmark 🇩🇰 or even USA 🇺🇸? Or if at all Nigeria so I can get a lecturer job too? I really have passion for teaching high level student like the ones found in UNIBEN. |
Travel › Re: USA Employment-based Immigration (EB-1,EB-2,EB-3 Visa) by isyourboy(m): 3:43am On Sep 05, 2025 |
Debbieeeeeee: You already meet the basic requirement for EB-2 because you hold a Master’s degree. But for the National Interest Waiver (NIW) part, USCIS looks beyond the degree they want proof that your work has national importance and that you are well positioned in your field (for example, through publications, awards, certifications, conference talks, or recognized contributions). Since you are just starting out in cybersecurity, you don’t yet have enough evidence of that broader impact, so your case for EB-2 NIW would be considered weak right now. This is just my opinion. You’re definitely not an EB1 candidate just yet. What about someone with high school certificates (WAEC or NECO), can they qualify for EB-1A? |

Romance › I Didn’t Beg My Sister Husband In Canada To Start Sending Money: He Chose To by isyourboy(op): 1:42pm On Sep 04, 2025 |
Sequel to the “my sisters husband in Canada is very stingy”, I hereby state that I didn’t make it compulsory for him to start sending this money
Before this started, I didn’t ask him to do this for me. He was the one that promised he will be sending something to me every month when my sister told him I was unemployed that time.
And even some months you have to message him before he sends this money. That only shows his level of wickedness. And beside, no one asked him to borrow money for my sisters relocation and education. It’s his wife and it’s his responsibility |

achimendy: Am not surprised when burnaboy criticise the idea of getting married to a Nigerian woman. The load and entitlement mentality that comes with it is really alarming. No wonder most men die quick.
If you need money go and work, nobody owe you anything. Before this started, I didn’t ask him to do this for me. He was the one that promised he will be sending something to me every month when my sister told him I was unemployed that time. And even some months you have to message him before he sends this money. How wicked can that be? |

JustcallmeFavou: If this is true, the sender is high. The person is not even your direct sibling, but a brother in-law, and you're this entitled to his money that you don't even know how hard he worked for.
Even if he is your sibling, as long as you're an adult, and can fend for yourself, don't be entitled. You're such a shameless, and ungrateful person! I hope he doesn't even assist you, or look your way ever again! Before this started, I didn’t ask him to do this for me. He was the one that promised he will be sending something to me every month when my sister told him I was unemployed that time. Family › My Sisters Husband in Canada Is Very Stingy by isyourboy(op): 3:00pm On Sep 03, 2025 |
I’m not the begging type as I have a lot of things going on for myself. My sister joined her husband in Canada last year courtesy of her husband. Outside of the little 50k, 100k there that this man used to send to me (I don’t know how much he gives my parent — In law, by the way ), he’s never thought of establishing me in business or find a way for me to join my sister in Canada.
Even most times you have to remind him before he send the pittance he sent to me. Last week, I told him to find a way for me to join my sister in Canada, and he said he’s still paying for the debt he took for my sister to join him and he want to send her to school also. Meanwhile I didn’t know this. Okay then I can wait. After then I told him to find me a bulk sum so I can start some business. He asked how much and I said 5M naira would be enough, he cut the phone, called him back and send him msg on WhatsApp which he read and didn’t reply. I called my sister and told her what her husband did and she said she will talk to him.
You have been in Canada for a while and little things to give back to the family is difficult for you? Not his fault

AllDModsAreMaad: Please don't let any negativity here make you to stop posting these beautiful pictures nor stop you from replying those reasonable ones like us that needs answers to our questions, guides and any other help/assistance that can make our plans(traveling) easy.
Some of us are working on traveling out very soon, at least we can use it(the pictures) to hold body while our plans/working goes on to success(works out).
Honestly, seeing you actually gave me a very essential morale boost that I can still travel out even in my 30's, since someone like you just did.
I have been contemplating on just focusing on my business(growing) and dropping the idea of traveling out(via study route i.e MSc). I would have started it earlier or intensify the effort had it been I saw or came across your post earlier, but nothing spoil sir.
Kudos! We all fantasize this abroad thing until we get there and see that it's not exactly how people paint it. At least it happen to me |

Nigerians, always in the habit of talking bad about their country in a bid to satisfy their white lords and masters. Every little things, una must compare. for every thing I enjoy in the US, I pay for it bro. Before I came here, I use to think all these things una use to compare are free or cheap, but nah. You see 24hrs light? You pay for it. The questions is are you ready to have your income taxed to death the way it is been done in western countries?
Must you always denigrate your country to sound reasonable and to make it look like you are doing better to those back home? We all know most Nigerians are doing menial jobs they wouldnt ordinarily do in Nigeria here. |
