@Blank. Yeah, U'r right! I actually asked that question to know if the reaction was as a result of the nan, I was thinking maybe her tummy isnt accepting it(that is if the discomfort startd as a result of it) so I thought if stoping the nan improves the situation then she may try another product, ofcourse after being certain the discomfort was bc of the nan... Strictly my thought!

Making it light is also a good option.

MrMexs007:

I agree, as long as the Baby is healthy that what counts not when your baby is over weight and looks like Mr Dunlop , I know a couple who pumped there Baby Boy with all sorth of Baby 'feed' at uncontrolled portion. By the Boys 9month he was so fat that He's 'we-we' was disturbingly tiny. At that point they started running from one pediatrician to another.

Now this got me laughing grin grin 'we-we' grin

gbeduman: My 2 weeks daughter is finding it difficult to poop, she pushes and struggles to poop but instead she will releases air, her stomach feels very hard, she have stayed for 24 hours now without pooping. I'm very concern, can someone give me an advice or remedy to help heal my baby with this uncomfortable situation? she is fed on Breast Milk and NAN 1, her mom tried feeding her with breast milk alone but she keeps crying like she wasn't satisfied, please Somebody help.

When did you start the nan1? I'll sugest U stop giving her the nan for now and see how she feels, she may be constipating. For me 2weeks is too early to start introducing baby to formulas. If your wife has not resumed work she should stick with the breastmilk for some time. She can eat well and take lots of fluid to help the quantity of milkflow-pap, tea, kunu, palmwine...could help greatly. For me, kunu did the magic!

For the discomfort, U can put warm water in her anus or as somone said, U can put menteletum in cutton bud and insert lightly in the anus. U can also GENTLY massage the stomach and do a mini cycling with her legs. Mum should also eat lots of fruits and veg to help baby's system. Avoid the environment being stuffy(fries, damp, smoky and all) Hope this helps.

omogemi: just normal b complex syrup. U can get it @ d pharmacy. I ll suggest u give her 5ml 2ce a day. What u ll do is dis. When u wake up in d morning, breastfeed her. Let her have her fill. When she burps or after abt 10mins, give d b complex. Then go bath her. Dont offer breast again. Instead, go prepare her food. If she wants to sleep aftr d bath let her. But if she dsnt sleep, let her play. When she crys out for d breast again offer her d pap. She may not lyk d position u place her. Try another method. Let her sit in a chair. Or place her on ur lap sitting n sing rhyms for her or any song she likes . Offer her d food and see if she takes. If she dsnt take d pap leave her just dnt offer breast at dt moment. And if she takes a spoon or two, fyn, let her sleep with that. When she wakes u ll offer food again.

Good!! Talking about baby eating time. I also observ (for me) that position, spoon shape, plate or feeding bottle, rhymes... can encourage or discourage babies. Somtimes my son will refuse spoon and take bottle at other times reverse will be the case for the same food oh! when he was 8mnths I must sing befor that food will finish, now no need for that. hmmmm! I even changed this song
...mummy oh oh oh, wa pke laye.... to
...mummy oh oh oh, your food is so sweet, daddy oh oh oh, I love it so much....hahahaha, funny now.lol

It is well.

demmykay: Tanks omogemi, he is actually taking bosom milk well. I was given suitrox(azithromycin) for 3days and flygy. His poo is watery. I took him back to d clinic today nd was given ocefix(cefixime) to administer for 7days. Pray it soothes him. Once again tanks omogemi

Good luck Dear!

Bro Ayo I know how you feel but truth be told, 98% of the work should come from her. She has to see reasons to work on herself and be determined to! I gave birth thru CS and I'm still breastfeeding but I which I can stop TODAY!lol. Why? I need to focus on my diet abeg!

I have always been feeling unhappy about my tummy and added weight, my cute and expensive ahirts can't button at the tummy side. annoying! What got me to my 'senses' was a pics we (my family) took in church two weeks ago with a celebrating family friend. I said NO oh! this is not me!lol. I came up wit a diet fast fast oh and hide somtims to follow it strickly cause hubby will say am breastfeeding.lol. After putting baby to bed, I do a min of 15min exercise befor bathing to sleep. will post the time table I compiled when am very free

bottom line, She has to wiiling and determined then apply decipline.

Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by itsmelex(f): 4:56am On Jul 24, 2013
@Debbi, U can start with pap first, thier tender stomach tolerates that. If you decide to introduce tin food, start with a light cereal like rice, leav wheat till she is much older(this is from my own experience oh, she may tolerat it).

Cant remember all now but U could try these:
-peeled apple boiled and mashed
-irish or sweet potatoes, boiled and mashed ( I add crayfish, titus and tiny magerine or olive oil while cooking and blend all together)
-blended oats(to smooth whil dry), cook and add milk
-well cooked and mashed peeled beans(I introduced this at about 9mnths and very minut quantity..not much at all)
-egg yoke (somtimes I add this to well cooked/mashed white rice)
-yougut

These are the ones I can remember now. I'l sugest you try the pap for 2-3wks first befor gradualy introducing any other thing U feel lik. I started my baby on solid at exactly 6mnths! pap is mild, you can make it very light...dnt forget U introduc a food at a time and wait for like 4days before introducing another(I waited upto a week to intro new food cause my boy is very sensitive...but now two days max)

In all sis, do what you'r comfortable with and if you'r very confused visit the ped. Heard every mum has great instinct, don't ignor yours now!

All the best

Common on nairaland is the use of 'being' and 'been' interchangably.***just wandering why***

@op it is 'been' and not 'being'. Sorry its irritating to the eyes.

@topic. Every married responsible determined woman pray and STRIVE to CONTINUALLY be a blessing/chanel of blessings to her husband and children. There's always a positive testimony to this at the end of the day(mnth/year) by the husband and people around.

However, it takes a long term goal and vision to keep this going in all circumstance!

^^^Wow! that makes us 3! must have omited adeturayo's post. Mine was because my nipple was 'flat' and after pulling it out during pregnancy, the left nipple improved and it became his favourite but I didnt let it get to the point of being biger at all! If he sucks the left now, I'll pump out the right and give him next(in the position of the right bust). Also I waited til he is very hungry and put him on the right bust and with determination he will suck the thing well!

Indeed, it's a phase that will pass. Also go with Omogemi's sugestion as one side may not be too good for his neck and posture.

@slim05, what is colic pain? Do U now observe that the warmth he gets from your body while on your back is reducing the congestion and cold?
I gues you know how to steam a baby?
I have also read here that mentoletum helps.

Omegemi, Not that the fragrance of agnessia is bad I just dont fancy it, I like that apealing baby smell my baby's powda gives compared to the agnesia when I used it, but it worked greatly and thats what counts!

PRETTY TRUST sorry about that. I may not have a perfect solution for you but have U tried Agnesia powder? I use coconut oil(self-made) for my baby and his skin has been excelently smooth but once I mistaking bought 'fake' food and the next day rashes all over his body! A nurse told me to buy the powder and I did, though I hated the 'smell'(not fragrance ooo.lol). within 2-3days his skin was cleared.

Did you change her washing detergent, cream, soap or food? Are her clothes well suned? It may also be teeth ooo.
All the best!
