One time like that, my guy went to INEC office for Okene to get his Voter's card. He was told his Voter's card was not available. For more than five years, yet, it's not available for collection. Along the line, he had serious misunderstanding with the staff, exchanging words with them (Obviously, that's their modus- operandi. Only God knows why).
So, along the line, they called the security personnel and they picked up my guy.
We were in the field around 4pm when my guy called telling us to show for police station that he has been detained. Three of us went with our jerseys on. We were told the story that ensued and the need to bail him with 15k.
None of us came with cash. To transfer, no. Ok, let one of us withdraw for POS nearby, Omo, these guys in black uniforms refused any of us leaving the premise for any reason at all. It's either we bail him right now or join him in the cell. Which kain wahala be dis
We had to call someone to help us withdraw money and bring it for us.
Those people are monster. They need serious reform. It's that bad!!!
This is funny
Lawyers on twitter hardly agree on anything but they all unanimously agree they don't like any case that takes them to the police station.
This egi nupe guy recently said he will stop taking cases that involve the police. When lawyers are saying this, then you know there's a serious problem.
Because I don try reason am sotey ….: there’s absolutely no way police go carry u enter station and allow u see area commander just like that o.
It must be a Lagos thing. There has never been a time I requested to see the station officer, DPO or the area commander and was denied.
One other time they stopped me and said my Lagos plates when searched was showing valid but not assigned. I told them there was nothing wrong with my registration and it wasn't my business if whoever I have no control over decides not to do his job.
Eventually, they took me to the station and I requested to see the DPO. I explained the situation to him and he called for the officer. Long story short, he told him to allow me go.
I still have at least two other experiences that ended the same way.
I can't remember the last time I gave police one naira. Should be over six years now.
BlueRayDick: The CSO told me the initial statement he submitted , they refused to issue a police report based on it because they insisted he must state the value of the items . When he eventually stated the value , then the haggling began before they arrived at that 700k from the initial 10% they demanded .
Nigeria police mad gan , the superiors are more corrupt than the junior officers . That’s why a normal police stop and search team prefer u stripe them on the road before they carry u go station where senior officers will share in the largesse
Funny enough, I've had decent luck with their superiors anytime I find myself at a station.
One time they stopped me for making a u turn where I shouldn't have made it. They started requesting for a ridiculous amount of money and I refused.
They made me drive to the station and collected my keys. I requested to see the area commandant from the front desk and I was directed to his office. I explained myself to him and told him I didn't see the no u turn sign as I wasn't familiar with the road.
The man told me to get the police officers who brought me and ordered them to release my car keys. I didn't give them one naira.
BlueRayDick: It actually involved a theft of products valued around N80m(when converted to naira ) . The police were demanding 10% of the value at loss to issue police report over a crime they didn’t even solve 🤦♂️.( Simply because they know the police report will help recover a seizable amount lost from insurers )
The CSO being an ex officer was able to prevail on them to take 700k instead .
E get some things wey some of us have seen that make us not even believe in the system at all.
When my wife lost her phone, those thieves collected 5k just for reporting it to them. No actual report was issued.
I'm just wondering, did you guys have to actually declare the true value? I mean, you could have told the police the value was 1m.
raumdeuter: Who was the beneficiary? Is it Wike himself or a Rivers man
No law says he cant give a Rivers man if "due process" was followed
The beneficiary is Kingsley Chinda. He is Wikes right hand man. Both of them go way back as faculty mates at the Rivers State university. Chinda was also his legal adviser when he was chairman of Obio Akpor.
If Wike was going to use anyone as proxy to buy anything, it has to be O.K Chinda.
To a reasonable extent. And Wike didn't deny it. He even tried justifying it by saying there's no national assembly member who doesn't have a land in Abuja and that there's no law that says a Rivers man cannot buy land in Abuja.
popizaino: I thought as much, because i when started watching the video, she didn't really say anything concrete other than trying to gain public sympathy by telling us her husband fought biafra war and all that, but then i went to the comments section and someone said the reason why she couldn't hit the real points is because she's old and might have amnesia. That's when i started sympathising with her and the last point were she said Wike is allocating the land to himself,if not nobody can convince me otherwise about Wike. I refuse to join the crowd to call the man that has been showing workings names.
You get. All she had to do was say, this is my C/O. It was issued by so and so under so and so.
The land was never hers. The husband came to do a construction job in Abuja in the 80s and was given R/O which only allowed him to use the land without conferring any ownership on him. In 2020, they approached the FCDA to convert the R/O to C/O. February 2023, they were given certain conditions for the conversion which was not met. The land was revoked 20 months later.
Rather than whip up sentiments, she should have displayed the C/O for everyone to see if she had one.
Only problem I see is Wike allocating it to his friend or himself. There's nothing wrong with the revocation itself.
popizaino: Although, i saw something on twitter that wanted to check my faith from the advice i took from Itsr.m and Blue.RayDick, but knowing Nigeria policy usually defies all economic principles i just lock up.
Told you na. In this financial market, I never sell anything at a loss. Either I sell for profit, breakeven or I hold the bag.
Capaldi: Enzo goal was all about Enzo. Palmer tried to shot and it was deflected/nicked . I don't know why he should be given credit for Enzo goal. He didn't create any clear cut chances as well. He was ok yesterday but definitely not MOTM.
Did we watch the same game? The one he created for Jackson was what?
nitrogen: Not like the players are bad either, some key ones can’t play in the current system. We won’t see much until he gets his type of players. Hopefully, we manage to win some games before January when the window opens. Else, he might be gone soon, as the games we have in the next 2-3 weeks na die. Also, when the window opens, we hopefully get him at least 3 players to help the team understand the system.
Two truths can exist. The players are bad. Which of them will start for Arsenal, City or Liverpool?
Besides, if they were doing well under the previous system, ETH would not have been sacked.
I think Amorim stays till the end of the season at the very least except you guys end in a relegation battle which is unlikely.
afrodoc2: de Ligt is very risk averse and seems not to trust his own passing. Ugarte is not the person to receive the ball in those situations because he just does not have that technicality. Mainoo has to do more off the ball in terms of his movement and offering angles to receive the ball.
The midfield did not do too badly actually. We had 72% possession and had 17 shots with 7 on target. Forest had 28% possession and had 11 shots with only 3 on target. The problem was that they scored from all their shots on target.
IMO the system is actually not bad. It is just that some of the personnel have to be changed for better players.
It all makes sense now. A better passer would have found Ugarte or Maino regardless of the way Forest set up.
The bolded is a no brainer. Everyone agrees apart from Amorim who is still protecting them in his pressers. Won't be long before he cries out.
de Ligt has to do better cos Maguire progressed the ball better when he came on.
Mainoo and Ugarte also have to better, especially Mainoo because Ugarte does not appear to have it in him to collect the ball in tight spaces between the lines. Mainoo can do it but his off the ball movement to get in position to receive the ball has to improve.
I noticed Forest had one guy permanently positioned in front of Urgate and another beside Maino whenever utd tried playing out from the back.
The first goal came from a triangle that bypassed the guy in front of Ugarte and freed him. Wonder why the players never attempted it again when it worked so well the only time they did.
iamoyindamola: He fvcked up He shouldn't hit the ground running like that, knowing the kind of players he has RVN was playing well and winning with same set, he should have slowly integrate his tactics although his template shows he knows what he's doing
I actually agree with this. By the time he even gets it right, most of the players here will be long gone. What's the point?
pope191: Sorry my people that I could not respond since. I was just getting off the matter. Not happy, but heaven bear me witness I have tried my best.
Riders will no kee us. I was heading towards Anthony to meet up with someone. So I left the app on incase I get a trip along. Parked around Allen and I saw a trip from Salvation. So the rider text and her number was not on the app. I text her about being on my way. On getting to that Chrisland sch. My phone flash message and it use to b within eyes reach, tho not on my dashboard. My attention draw to the flash and the pop message, rider cancelled. I didn’t touch my phone, just eyes on the flash, next was more like an unstable man wandering in the middle of the road. Omo! Nah human be this? I sway my hand real quick, but I’m already at the covert side and no further side to sway too or I slam the covert completely. People sha gather and try to mob, until the honest people took the blame off me and they left. Rushed em to the nearest hospital like 3 blocks away. A man followed me to the hospital and ready to stand as witnesses. Even told his driver to drive my car away from the mob, so they don’t steal anything. They put em on a stable mood and I took him to general hospital. Sort all the bills and have him some money and he said h want to go. Before I know I start saying police up and down. Back and forth, doctors were angry, because I stood and took charges, bear the brunt and sort all bills, I didn’t run, so what’s the problem here? The man is still alive, eating and walking around, not like they admit him.
Las las the things went the way it went and the case was drop. Took the man back to the street he claimed he live, he could point any house. If he hav any relate, child or phone number, he said no. So I took him to the pharmacy, but blood tonic, some vitamins and pain killer. Took em to the street and leave.
Just got home not long ago… it is well!
This is a lot and sorry about the experience. Let's thank God he didn't die or sustain spinal or neck injuries. The situation would have been 10 times worse.
