At the time drivers were pushing for 25k I'd said it like some of us are saying now, they were either doing it wrong out of genuine ignorance or they were inept or straight up lying about the job being unprofitable while they were cashing out with landlord's car.

I asked for 30k and all three of them refused. I was surprised. It was as if they did a meeting and agreed to say no thinking I'll continue to take 25k.

I just withdrew, sold and never looked back until now that I'm starting to reconsider.

I have been posting earnings here since subsidy removal. Yes, festive period comes with higher earnings but I always given minimum earnings for ordinary time.

I'm really being tempted to come back. . Closed shop and sold all vehicles around March when drivers insisted on 25k. Managing it from PH will be quite challenging though.

It is actually. And it depends on how long the bonanza continues. Run the math over a 5 year period and the naira will have to depreciate to 7k+ to a dollar for you not to beat inflation.

And even if you look at it in the short term, what are the options? There are no guarantees in the stock market, crypto is worse and business has its ups and downs. Maybe you can buy USD but anything can happen.

Dollar is at 1700 and we are still buying PMS at 1100 without subsidy. To put into perspective, fuel was 617 at NNPC when Dollar was less than 800 in September of last year.

Fbn managed to get in their bid at 22% which is the lowest of the range. This translates to yield of 28.2%.

This is very very good advice. Unless you are sure of the competence of the person just make do with Bluetooth earphones/speakers. As a matter of fact my laptop speakers have the same issue. I think they even strated misbehaving after a repair where it was opened up to clear deep deep dust and fix the fan.

There are too mamy risks with repairers which Is why I can sometimes delay a repair wey pass me indefinitely

If they are not stealing ram, hard drive and making fake story, they are destroying the laptop while repairing it.

Years ago my sons thinkpad started refusing to boot. The repairer managed to somehow fk up the keyboard. A thinkpad is designed for easy disassembly and I ordered another keyboard. Opening up the laptop to change the keyboard made me mad, because I saw how carelessly the idiot had taken it apart. And this is a device with full youtube videos that can be opened in 10 minutes.

I guess I have to just replace the motherboard and stay with them while it's being fixed.

The funny thing is, I could have bought a used laptop. I bought it new because I didn't want to deal with these kind of issues. Here I am today

Turned out to be a factory error as I saw a lot of people with same experience online. Some of them were lucky to catch it before warranty expired and the fix was Dell replacing the motherboard.

I saw one guy on YouTube who was able to fix his by changing the audio chip. That's how I know it will work. It's a Dell Vostro 3510 laptop.

You mean replacing the motherboard? That will cost too much money. Trying to see if the chip alone can be replaced. I don't have the tools nor knowledge to do that on my own.

I have a laptop with sound issues. I have been able to narrow it down to a faulty audio chip on the motherboard.

Are guys who repair laptops skilled enough to replace the chip or I have to bite the bullet and replace the entire motherboard.

The laptop is just a little over a year and is out of warranty.

Since this UGM insecurity thing, nothing concern me with any road leading to any state in the East so I can't speak to this particular place.

However, unlike Lagos that uses LAWMA, waste management here is handled by private contractors. And if there's anything private organisations have over government ones, it's efficiency.

I will be surprised if that place you mentioned is as you say it is.
