RomanceMarriage Is Not Compulsory! by ItuExchange(op): 11:04pm On Apr 10, 2016
The U.S. once had a bachelor president. The current Greek prime minister is a single man. A former U.S. Secretary of State is a single woman (but successful). Real Christianity itself doesn’t portray marriage as being compulsory; for there are those who’ve dedicated their life to God, and as such, have vowed to remain single.

There are people who currently regret their marriage. There are people whose life has been pushed off-course because of marriage, and they would most probably never recover from that.

There are single ladies and men, whether previously married or not, who’re living a happy and fulfilled life.

In Nigeria, people tend to think that unmarried people are failures, irresponsible and useless? Is that correct?

Is marriage really compulsory? Isn’t it better to remain single or a single parent if that’s what can bring permanent happiness to one, or probably save one from untimely death or volatile life?

Car TalkWhat Is The Flaw Of BMW? by ItuExchange(op): 10:55pm On Apr 10, 2016
Very good question. I've owned a whole host of BMWs over the last couple of years but honesty I dont know the answer to the question... yet. But I would like to explore the idea of Daniel Haffner, to see if they have really strayed from their original mission statement of being the "ultimate driving machine".

In order for BMW to develop the ultimate driving machines, they need money. To get money, they can either borrow money or they can sell more of their own product to make money. To sell more product, they can either sell more "ultimate driving machines" or they can diversify to sell more cars to more people that will lead them making more money. This is thus a way to fund their goals. I dont think this is a flaw but then this is looking at BMW the company more than BMW the car. As they are making good money and are expanding their operations globally, lets assume there are no major flaws with BMW the company

So out of the above we identified that BMW make cars to sell to:

BMW M cars are still the best and most involving road cars in the world according to road test publications from around the world. It is very rare that you come across an article where the say a M BMW is boring, slow, and not involving (assuming those are the criteria for the ultimate car). BMW have introduced turbo charging to the new F series BMW's which was frowned upon but the new cars are so much faster than the outgoing E series that these criticisms was quickly forgotten.

The Normal People cars e.g. 318's, 116's etc are selling like hot cakes. People are buying them and loving them. BMW ingrained enough BMW DNA in their people cars to keep a tight brand following and have a strong base of return customers. They are listening to the demand of these people and by growing this sector, in some cases they are losing the essence of BMW by introducing for example FWD or xDrive cars. This is however in response to a demand from customers and not due to a change in mission statement.

The BMW i Range is also doing pretty well with the i8 getting excellent reviews. The marque is still very young so its early to judge where they are heading. Maybe we must update this section in a couple of years from now.

So we've explored BMW the company and BMW cars and havent yet stumbled on any major flaws. Where else can we then look?

How about the BMW image? What do you think of someone when you see them driving a BMW? Arrogant, rude, obnoxious, unfriendly, selfish or like Top Gear would say "cock" (i believe this one has however been transferred to Audi). Is this however BMW's fault? Myabe, maybe not? People driving BMW's are seen as these last mentioned terms because in the early days BMW were mostly driven by rich people. People who in general society could be seen as arrogant. As the BMW Business mill started to turn and the cheaper BMW's started rolling out, this BMW image was transferred to owners of cheaper BMW's and these owners, typically rising middle class, embraced the BMW status to its full extend. As the number of BMWs on the road increased, as did the number of arrogant rude BMW drivers, all of them embracing the the laurels of owning the ultimate driving machine and all of them trying to out do the other. Debadged 316 drivers pretending to drive a M3's, hogging fast lanes, riding the bumper of the car infront of them, not using indicators etc. This is how the "bad" BMW image came about.

The last bit of the answer relating to the perception of the BMW image is my subjective view and probably the biggest flaw with BMW in my humble opinion. If the question can maybe be refined to indicate if we are talking about the BMW brand\image\cars, we can explore the specific topic in more detail and who knows, we might get a different answer smiley

RomanceWhich One Disgraces You More At In-law’s, A Marwa (keke Napep) Or An Okada? by ItuExchange(op): 9:57am On Apr 09, 2016
I like those who earn their livelihood thru honest means, instead of resorting to various forms of crimes and illegal ways of earning money.

Part of those people are motorcycle (okada) and tricycle (keke Marwa) riders. They provide essential services for the public.

Nevertheless, some people hate these transport machines, not to mention being conveyed in them. I remember one young baba alaye, who was living in V.I. some years back. He saw one Keke Napep while driving in his own Toyota car and complained that government has destroyed Nigeria by allowing all sorts of rubbish (like Keke Napep) to be brought into the country.

I remained silent, as I know these Marwa and okada have saved millions of families from hunger and further penury, providing them with means of livelihood when it seems all hope is lost.

To make the matter worse, some people who drive Marwa and Okada see themselves as objects of ridicule. For example, one Okada rider, who was a married man, once told me that if he were an owner of Marwa, he would never take the vehicle to his in-laws, since it would be a disgrace for him. He added that he sometimes felt ashamed to even ride his own okada to his in-laws’. His viewpoint was supported by those around him.

Is this a reality? Are Marwa owners ashamed to take their vehicles to their in-laws? Do okada riders sometimes see themselves as hopeless and worthy of reproach? Are these not noble jobs?

PoliticsIf A Cop Is Unnecessarily Beating Down A Citizen Can I Kill That Cop? by ItuExchange(op): 5:31am On Apr 07, 2016
Oh goodness no. You will be arrested for murder of a police officer. That is if you survive to get arrested.

Likely, if you try to interfere, right or wrong, you will end up on the wrong side of a bullet. The officer is going to respond to an attack with force. Any other officers arriving on the scene will only see you attacking an officer, and will respond accordingly.

Keep in mind, that even if you have a legitimate case for defense of another, you could only use the amount of force which is reasonable under the circumstances. So if you just pull out a weapon and shoot the officer, even if you were 100% correct and the officer was 100% wrong, you still likely would have murdered him by using too much force. Unless you can show you used an appropriate amount of force under the circumstances.

It is important to remember though, that you don't know whether the officer is doing anything wrong, first of all. When police officers engage with violent suspects, it really looks horrible to people who don't know what is going on. You might have come along a situation where the officer is just gaining control. Or who is seeking to gain control. Or who is trying to deal with an out-of-control, out-of-his mind on drugs person who is not responding to whatever force the officer is trying to use.

I think if you see something, the best bet is to, as Mike Prozan says, call for help and record what you are seeing.

That way, help will come for whomever needs it, and you will have evidence of what happened.

CrimeA Frustrated Man Stabbed His Wife More Than 500 Times by ItuExchange(op): 5:15am On Apr 07, 2016
A HUSBAND inflicted more than 500 knife wounds on his terrified wife in a ferocious attack after completely losing his self-control "in a volcanic eruption".

In the prolonged and savage assault in the kitchen of their suburban home, bus driver Robert Bailey used numerous knives and a double pronged carving fork on his helpless wife, Elaine.

Liverpool Crown Court heard today that the mother-of-three was still alive when many of the horrific blows were inflicted.

"She had a minimum of 126 penetrating type injuries to her head and face, many located around the eyes, with a minimum of four stab wounds penetrating through the eye sockets into her underlying brain," said Judge Henry Globe, QC, the Recorder of Liverpool.

"The pattern of injury was particularly unusual. The pathologist is of the opinion that those stab wounds were inflicted in life. That alone is a horrifying statement," he said.

"It does not end there. The pathologist says although many of the penetrating wounds to the body were superficial they were also inflicted while she was alive and would have caused her great pain and suffering," added Judge Globe.

He jailed 46-year-old Bailey, of Locker Park, Greasby, who appeared impassive, for life with a minimum term of 20 years. He had today admitted her murder.

Judge Globe said that precisely what happened on the afternoon of September 11 last year might never be known and had had to be pieced together by forensic investigation and a pathologist.

"What is clear is that you took the life of your wife in acts of gruesome and savage violence and she must have suffered considerably before she died."

He said that although Bailey had suffered from depression, for which he received medication, no one had believed he was a risk to others, "still less capable of committing an offence of this seriousness".

The blows, which included stabs, incised and puncture wounds, had been inflicted with considerable force. At least two stab wounds entered her chest, one penetrating her heart and the other her lung. She had defensive injuries to her hands and arms.

The 39-year-old former legal secretary, who had described her husband as being like her fourth child, had been so terribly mutilated that her parents were not able to see her body and she had to be identified by dental records.

The court heard that his extraordinary behaviour continued after the mid-afternoon attack as Bailey, wearing a Liverpool FC shirt and covered in blood, stormed round to the home of neighbour, Glynis Boyle, and banged on her window with a foot long knife.

"He looked possessed. He looked wild, like a maniac and was shouting obscenities and 'I have killed her'," she later told police.

She rang 999 and escaped into her back garden. Meanwhile Bailey got into her house and caused £20,000 worth of damage, including stabbing furniture.

Police officers arrived and after escorting Mrs Boyle to safety could see Bailey bizarrely sitting watching television, still armed with the knife, said Andrew Edis, QC, prosecuting.

On seeing an officer in the back garden Bailey, who was grinning, smashed a window to try to get to him but did not leave the house.

Armed officers arrived but before they were able to subdue him with CS gas he stabbed himself in the chest with the knife puncturing his diaphragm, and had to be taken to hospital.

When officers went to the scene of the murder they found the victim lying dead in the kitchen with blood stained knives lying around which he had used in deliberate thrusting motions. Blood stains showed that it had been a prolonged attack, said Mr Edis.

Mr Edis said that the couple had been married since 1990 and appeared happy though Elaine's mum, Pamela Walsh, said that after their youngest child was born Bailey seemed jealous of the children.

She spoke to her daughter on the morning of her death and Elaine sounded fine but asked about her husband she said, "Don't ask. I'm annoyed with him for not taking his tablets but hopefully after six days break he will be okay."

Her brother, Stuart, said Bailey liked to be the centre of attention and was quite hyperactive and immature. The court heard that Stuart and his wife, Louise, who have four children, are now caring for the couple's children.

The youngsters are two boys, aged seven and 14 and a seven-year-old girl, who suffers from Down's Syndrome.

When Bailey, an ADHD sufferer, was interviewed he said they had argued after they went into the kitchen for a cup of tea and he 'snapped.'. He claimed she used to belittle him and was the boss and he was always scared of her.

Bailey, who had a breakdown in 2006, said he could remember little of what he had done that afternoon.

John McDermott, QC, defending, said that the day before the killing Bailey, who met Elaine when he was living in Essex, handed in his bus keys saying he felt unable to drive a PSV as he was having panic attacks, feeling weak and lacking confidence.

He said on the fateful day "he lost his control completely. Why he did he may never be able to explain."

No one could have predicted Bailey's "volcanic eruption. He is most bewildered by what happened".

Mr McDermott said that Bailey, whose mother committed suicide when he was 27, does not know why he lost "all reason and control" but accepted the attack would have been ferocious.

Afterwards, in the neighbour's garden, he had plunged a pair of dressmaking scissors into his chest.

After the hearing the victim's parents, Pamela and Charles Walsh, issued a statement saying, "We feel justice has been done as Robert Bailey starts his life sentence for the brutal and as described in court, sadistic murder of our precious daughter.

"Sadly nothing can bring Elaine back but we know she lives on through her three children who are now being brought up by Elaine's brother. Stuart, and daughter-in-law Louise with their four children.

"All the cards and letters we have received show how greatly loved and missed Elaine is by her family and friends and the charities she raised money for.

"We would like to say thank you to our local community and churches for all the support we have received in so many ways.

"We are a very close family and now want to try and re-build our lives and our children's lives the best we can."

Christianity EtcWho Or What Is The Devil? by ItuExchange(op): 11:34pm On Apr 02, 2016
According to the Wikipedia, the devil (from Greek: διάβολος or diábolos = slanderer or accuser) is believed in many religions, myths and cultures to be a supernatural entity that is the personification of evil and the archenemy of God and humankind. The nature of the role varies greatly, ranging from being an effective opposite force to the creator god, locked in an eons long struggle for human souls on what may seem even terms (to the point of dualistic ditheism/bitheism), to being a comical figure of fun or an abstract aspect of the individual human condition.

While mainstream Judaism contains no overt concept of a devil, Christianity and Islam have variously regarded the devil as a rebellious fallen angel or jinn that tempts humans to sin, if not committing evil deeds himself. In these religions – particularly during periods of division or external threat – the devil has assumed more of a dualistic status commonly associated with heretics, infidels, and other unbelievers. As such, the devil is seen as an allegory that represents a crisis of faith, individualism, free will, wisdom and enlightenment.

In mainstream Islam and Christianity, God and the devil are usually portrayed as fighting over the souls of humans. The devil commands a force of evil spirits, commonly known as demons. The Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament) describes the Adversary (ha-satan) as an angel who instigates tests upon humankind. Many other religions have a trickster or tempter figure that is similar to the devil. Modern conceptions of the devil include the concept that he symbolizes humans' own lower nature or sinfulness.

Please I have questions…

Would you say that the Devil is…

A spirit person?
A symbol of the evil inside a person?

A product of human imagination?

What is your answer please?

RomanceA Reply From Mukesh Ambani (reliance Group) To A Pretty Girl Seeking A Rich Man by ItuExchange(op): 12:42am On Apr 02, 2016
A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?

I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here.

I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with 100 crore annual salary or above.

You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary 2 crore is considered only as middle class now days..

My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of 100 crore annual salary? Are you all married?

I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you?

Among those I've dated, the richest is 50 crore annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit.

If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), 50 crore annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
2) Which age group should I target?
3) Why most wives of the riches are only average-looking? I've met a few girls who don't have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys.

4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

Ms. Pooja i Chohan.

A philosophical reply from Mukesh Ambani-

Dear Ms. Pooja,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor.

My annual income is more than 100 crore, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here.

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain.

Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money”: Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square.

However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year.

Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worse 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position".
If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased".

Anyone with over 100 crore annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with 100 crore annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Hope this reply helps.

signed,
Mukesh Ambani

Foreign AffairsHow Tough Is A Navy SEAL In A Street Fight? by ItuExchange(op): 9:24pm On Mar 31, 2016
Many SEALs are surprisingly small guys. Or rather, they're not the shape of bodybuilders. If you get good and solidly drunk, at first size-up, it's not unreasonable to think you can take him.

I once saw a couple of SEALs quietly resolve a dispute in a bar. He was unbelievably drunk and did not know who he was fucking with, so he came over mouthing off and they just ignored him. Eventually, they invited him to sit down and have a drink with them. He initially refused, but they sat him down. Not sure what they talked about, but when they finished their drinks, the SEALS led him to the door, slammed him into the door, opened it, and tossed him out.

Again, this was quiet stuff. Subtle. If you weren't paying attention, you might have missed it. No big production about it. The loudest part was the (probably intentional) door slam.

I once had the chance to spar with a retired SEAL-turned-MMA-fighter! This guy was an excellent boxer and an Olympic alternate wrestler with, at the time, a purple belt in jiujutsu that could have been black.

That was near my peak as a martial artist, and after several thousand hours of training, there were some low-level pros in my gym that I was able to out-strike (but not out-grapple). I had definitely done well against a number of ripped soldiers of different types who just weren't amazing at hand-to-hand, but would have murdered me in any kind of real battle.

So this SEAL was a different animal. I hit him with a hard side kick right away and after that he switched on, and immediately nailed me with a tricky head kick. He proceeded to outclass me, but I weigh 230, he is more like 170, and that prevented total domination. I hit him a few more times and he seemed to at least be wary. Afterwards he told me I was a "very accurate striker" and it's one of the proudest moments from my martial arts career. My goal was to test myself against a dangerous opponent and not change my game due to fear, and in a controlled environment, I did that. And it felt great.

So yeah, in a street fight I could have died. More likely I would have ended up with a snapped elbow or some other terrible lifelong injury. Based on his stories, I don't think he would hesitate if he realized he was on the ground with a big guy who could, in the right circumstances, actually hurt him.

Despite bitter lessons from experience, we still tend to give external beauty priority over what really matters in a relationship.

BusinessWhy Can’t People Buy Dollar, Pound And Euro At Official Rates? by ItuExchange(op): 1:30am On Mar 27, 2016
We know that black market rates for foreign currencies are crazy, moving up and down wildly. The official rates, however, are stable and far lower. Whenever media talk about exchange rates, they like to mention official rates. When we receive money through Western Union, official rates are used. If I want to send money through Western Union, banks will tell me that is impossible. If I go to any bank, asking them I want to buy some foreign currencies, they would tell me it is not possible.

The only alternative left for me, and most Nigerians, is the black market.

But why can’t people get these foreign currencies at the official rates? I mean those who want to use them for legitimate things. Must one be a central banker or an inside banker or extremely influential before one can get foreign currencies at official rates?

How can one buy dollars at official rates? What is the purpose of official rates if people cannot benefit directly from them?

I am scratching my head…

HealthWhy Must Those Who Have Kidney, Heart, Etc. Problems Advertise For Help On TV? by ItuExchange(op): 1:19am On Mar 27, 2016
I am always sad whenever I watch T.V publicizing terrible health problems of some Nigerian citizens, like kidney, liver, heart, etc. problems, soliciting for financial assistance in order to do surgery that would correct such problems.

There are countries in other parts of the world in which their governments take responsibilities for their citizens’ health or subsidize it heavily. I do not think in a country like Singapore, Norway, Canada, etc. one of their citizens would be sick and she/he would need to be advertised on TV so that the public can contribute to assist financially.

I do not condemn this, but I do not know why this must be so. People who have these kinds of problems should be cared for by the government. There are many officials who travel regularly abroad for medical treatment, using of public funds.

I cannot blame the rich, especially those who acquire their wealth legally. Anyone is free to spend their money as they like, whether for philanthropic/humanitarian causes or otherwise. I think it is the responsibility of a good government to take care of their citizens.

I remember one lawyer showing me an iPad during the elections campaigns of 2014, telling me that was the only thing he gained from the government since he was born. What are we citizens for? Why must a Nigerian citizen die because she/he does not have the means to pay for medical bills?

When would there be National Health Insurance Scheme for all Nigerians? When would there be free health services (including free surgery) for citizens of states? Can we say there is no money or the money available has been stolen too much?

Are we too many in Nigeria for the governments to handle? Or is our population explosion a blessing or curse?

I’m perplexed.

InvestmentWhat Is The Most Useless Thing You Ever Bought? The Answer Will Surprise You! by ItuExchange(op): 1:07am On Mar 26, 2016
A college degree.

I'm not going to get into the usual complaints about college: the debt, the rising costs, the lack of jobs, etc. I'm just going to describe my own personal experience.

I went to a good school, had a normal social life, and majored in Computer Science, a field where I could expect a nice return on my investment.

I graduated with some debt but, no problem, because of my high grades in my field, I got into one of the best graduate schools in the country.

For about five years in a row I programmed computers every day. Then I left graduate school but stayed on campus, programming for various academic projects that students and professors were working on.

By the time I hit the "real" world (programming the network of HBO, the television company) I had probably put in 10,000 hours programming or more in an academic environment. Between class projects and academic-related jobs. I was obsessively interested in programming and loved learning all the nuances.

Then I left the academic world and started working at HBO.

Within one week of work, HBO realized I was so incompetent at programming that they had to send me to two months of remedial programming classes.

After that, I was about average and would come into work at 5am and leave around 7pm and work weekends just to keep up with my peers.

I ended up starting a web services company making websites for entertainment companies but I outsourced the programming to programmers better than me. In particular, I hired on the side many of the programmers I worked with at HBO. We were very successful because of that.

The most useless thing I ever bought was a piece of paper saying I had a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. It cost me about $120,000 and 5 years of my life.

NB: This is not my opinion. This post is the opinion of a mad genius called James Altucher. See more of his articles here: http://www.jamesaltucher.com/
