STILL WONDERING WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE ACCESS?

SOCIAL SKILLS: At Access bank, meeting with clients (career professionals to high flying entrepreneurs) is not limited to a particular unit, you have the opportunity to grow your network as much as you can.
• TRAINING: let the award speak for its self!
ACCESS BANK SCHOOL OF BANKING EXCELLENCE; Winner of the 2016 Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria Best Bank Academy Award. The training is priceless, it’s amazing how the focus is not teaching you how to work for the bank, but how to be a better person!
• VARIETY: The spice to access recruitment is the ability to choose preferred department.
• HANDSOME SALARIES: Let’s face it! Money matters! Good money can be made from work that interests and suits you, (make I no talk too much), welcome to the highest paying bank in Nigeria.
• CREATIVITY:A lot of graduates run away from banking career because of the fear of routine, At Access bank creativity at work is now valued more than ever. As a matter of fact you are encouraged to bring to the table different ideas no matter how crazy it sounds. With the advent of mobile and internet banking and with the push for global financial inclusion, there is no ceiling to how creative you are allowed to get.
• JOB SECURITY: With opportunities to advance at work and not worry about being fired because of downsizing or a bad economy, who can beat that?
• YOU GET TO WORK WITH EXCEPTIONALLY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE: There’s nothing to document the fact that everyone in banking has an IQ of 120 or more, but anecdotally this seems to be heightened at Access bank, not surprisingly though, an average Access Bank staff is super-bright.

so i should work out Financial Control Department by creating my own division on my street? i wanted somewhere close, i picked a unit that is situated close by, and i got it.

out of 30 ETs in my class, about 12 got their department of choice and you think that is not fair enough? emphasis is on Vacancy. how many people can Treasury absorb ?

Targets everywhere in Access, compulsory bonds, compulsory storming..even this recruitment is based on targets. Access bank is the highest paying bank but mehn what's the use of the money when your peace of mind ain't very stable. I think First bank and GTbank are top leading banks to work for in Nigeria currently.

First bank? What's your criteria?

Why do I have a feeling that the staff have to meet a particular target with this recruitment.

I'm seeing different staff ID and people promoting it.

I know it sounds crazy sha but it's just the way I see it

You can't please human! A lot of Access staff are out there trying to make sure people don't miss out in this opportunity because we know there ain't gonna be an extention of deadline and you call it a target? Majority of the people that phew trash about Access never even applied because they didn't meet the requirement or got dropped at the recruitment stage.

Its been an amazing experience and targets are overly reasonable.

I'm an ambitious fresh graduate of Economics(2'1), acquired in a top rated Federal university, fortunate enough to still be in my early twenties.
Recently got employed as an Executive Trainee in one of the leading banks in Nigeria.

I took the opportunity due to the fact that it was one of the first I got, would go to any length to work where my passion lies. (MANAGEMENT CONSULTING or Auditing in the BIG4) .

I just concluded the intensive Entry-level training which took about 5 months, and at the stage of selecting my most preferred department .

QUESTIONS-
which department in the bank would give me an advantage to get me into MANAGEMENT CONSULTING or AUDITING even if its getting in as an experience hire.

NOTE- I have a 2 years bond with the bank, which means I cannot leave for other company until 2 years .
I'm also an ICAN student.

please your advice would be appreciated .

Ekosodin.. Ekosodin
The Nigerian Iraqi zone
How great men art fallen in thy streets.
How precious destinies have ended in thy stalls
The dirge people raise up at the funeral of your victims are heart wrenching.
There they are,
Dark hooded fellows waiting,
Different colours and banners flying,
Assorted weapons hidden,
All waiting at every corner to make trouble.
oboy show
baby show
Subtle whistle calls to unsuspecting victims.
Like a rattlesnake, they strike.
Carting away all valuables
Leaving behind a stunned victim with a face peppered with hot slaps.
Ekosodin.
The den of Strong men.
Too old to remember their admission dates.
Too fearful of facing life outside the small village.
At every hostel they wait.
Long term tenants overdue for eviction.
The landlords agent comes knocking.
A distinguished lawyer in his own right.
The landlord said you people should pa.
The words froze in his lips.
For sight of the gun was enough to shut him up.
Landlord say make una take good care of the hostel
Quickly changing the content of the message meant to be delivered.
Who could blame him?
For a wife and three kids awaited his return home.
To the primary school field I went.
Hoping to enjoy a bit of banter among social gathering.
The shirtless team was winning and the game tempo building.
Midway through the game,
A harsh tackle ensued against a shirtless player.
The referee feigned ignorance.
The spectators maintained their silence.
The shirtless team maintained remarkable muteness.
They all knew who the referee was.
I did not.
There I was.
Yelling with a maddening roar at the injustice ignored.
A side step, two side steps,
Friends around had began to distance themselves from my location.
The referee blew a halt to the match.
In short strides undertaken with dwarvish legs,
He raced down to my location.
Who you be
He asked.
Blurting our the most idiotic question I thought anyone should ask.
For I was a Jew in the country of Rome
And a spectator in the midst of initiates.
Well, I am kosilala for your information
I replied while lacing the words with an exuberant tone.
For I thought he was just another student.
Within a fraction of a second,
An eclipse occurred before my eyes.
For the afternoon sun became obscured by a dark cloud.
Bright stars appeared in my vision that moment.
And the chirping sounds of birds around became more audible.
Two more slaps followed in quick succession.
Two more tsunamis that eroded my calm and beautiful face.
Two more hands in my pocket relieved me of my new phone.
A baptism of fire,
I called it in narration to friends afterwards.
Your first lecture in Ekoso 111,
My roommate called it.
And the second lecture came that Saturday.
At the viewing center I sat,
A yearning expectation swelling in my heart.
With a win from Manchester United over Arsenal,
My betslip winnings of #4000 would be guaranteed.
So the match began.
Rooney bumped in the first goal.
Danny Welbeck supplied the second.
Ashley Young added a third with a sublime curling R2 goal.
And the floodgates slammed shut at Seven-nil.
Ecstatic described my state.
Wilding jumping and hugging unknown strangers.
For winning in football always elicits a joy universally shared.
While exiting the door,
The minions gripped my hands.
And with unspoken threat escorted me to the lair of oga at the top.
Oga was very angry with me.
For he was a fan of the loosing Arsenal side.
And my jubilation had inflamed the sadness in him.
In the middle of the slapping and kicking session,
My orientation changed.
Whilst spending my last #2000 buying beer for everyone around,
My support for Manchester United rescinded.
And my dire love for the gunners was born.
With deep seated thanks I hail thee.
For my fears you heightened
And my belief in God you strengthened.
To Him I ran to secure me.
For I could do nothing to secure myself from the chairmen.
In God's presence I found true peace.
And in His word I found true wisdom to moderate my associations within that dreaded place called Ekosodin..

looool...forward ever yeah...but look at it critically, every structure is like a triangle. We can't have more senior staff than junior staff. There will always be more room at the Base. I am not implying you stay or remain at the Base. The most important thing is to get into a structure. At the Base the competition is less stiff, you gather experience and you leverage on it to get to the top. Let me hint you this; there was this guy who wanted to be an investment banker. He studied finance (unilag) made 2.1 went to banking school after training he was sent to marketing. He got frustrated after a year he left banking. He was my sister's friend. I advised him back then to go get a diploma in accounting. He did that with distinction, got internship in an investment firm after a year, He got a job as an investment banker with Stanbic. The road to success may not be that straight. The smart white guy that designed the gear systems in our vehicles created 1, 2, 3, 4....and he thought it wise to create reverse...I don't know all, is just a thought. My opinion is not error free.

ednut1:
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested the Group Managing Director of BGL Plc, a Lagos-based financial services company, Mr. Albert Okumagba, for alleged N28.9bn fraud.

An operative of the commission, who confided in our correspondent, said that those investigating the matter had been grilling the BGL boss for allegedly obtaining money by false pretences.

Though Okumagba on Thursday made a bid for his freedom but he failed to obtain an interim injunction barring the EFCC from arresting him.

Justice Mohammed Yunusa refused to grant the ex parte application argued by Okumagba’s counsel, Kolawole Reheem.

He also refused to order the EFCC to appear in court to justify why Okumagba’s prayers should not be granted.

Rather than grant Okumagba’s prayers, Justice Yunusa asked that the processes should be served on the respondents in Lagos as prayed in reliefs 5 and 6.

Our correspondents found that Okumagba was picked up by anti-graft operatives on Wednesday in response to a petition by the by the Security and Exchange Commission in May, 2015.

An EFCC source said, “The EFCC has arrested Mr. Albert Okumagba, Group Managing Director of BGL Plc, a financial services company, for offences allegedly bordering on obtaining money by false pretences.

“The 51-year-old, who hails from Delta State, was picked up late Wednesday, September 9, 2015, by operatives of the EFCC.

“His arrest was triggered by investigation into a petition submitted to the anti-graft agency by the Security and Exchange Commission in May 2015.

“The suspect is alleged to have diverted the sum of N28.9bn being proceeds of private placements of 4.3bn ordinary shares of 50k each at N7.00k per share in 2007.

“The company, whose subsidiaries include BGL Capital, BGL Private Equity, BGL Security and BGL Asset Management, allegedly lured 50 investors from across the country into subscribing to the company’s shares, promising them options of liquidity and exit within two years.”

It was stated that the investors were not able to liquidate their assets contrary to the promise made to them and that an alleged promise that BGL would be listed on the Securities and Exchange Commission two years after the offer in 2008 was not fulfilled

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest and interrogation of the BGL boss.

No fewer than 40 petitions were said to have been sent to the SEC against BGL by aggrieved capital market investors in the country as well as the Rivers State Ministry of Finance.

The SEC had earlier announced the suspension of the BGL Group from capital market activities on the strength of the allegations contained in the petitions.

But on May 27, 2015, BGL had obtained an interim injunction by Justice Saliu Saidu restraining SEC from suspending it from participating in capital market activities.

Also on July 21, 2015, the firm obtained another interim injunction by Justice Mohammed Idris stopping the plan by SEC to hear the various petitions against it.

Too many questions, I wish I can do this verbally, I hate typing, or better put "I'm too lazy to". did my interview today, felt I should share a little bit of what would help.
1- the CV template is simple, save and edit with your PC and sign after printing out.

2- the grade segment of the employment history is simply (e.g intern, nysc, grade 8 ,grade 9 etc) the grade 8,9,7 bla bla bla is for people that as worked in a reasonably well structured organization with grade structure, if not just write " graduate trainee".

3- try not to forget the CV template at home,(don't be like me, I had to print in Sunkanmi's office, that lady is bae tho). that's the only document you may likely be asked.

4- try not to go late, a lady was sent back home for coming late, I don't need to dwell on this, you know what to do, leave your house early (left mine by 5:30 am) . you don't have an excuse.

5- now to the main business... interview , interview , interview!... the longest interview duration was 5 minutes, so be smart, succinct, confident , and straight to the point.
6- know the bank (back , front and center) , I guess I was the only one she didn't ask any question about the bank, I gave the impression I know a lot about the bank, so she didn't border to test me on that.

7- engineering graduate et al , be ready to do a mini course defense, if you know what I mean. #winks

8- would have continued, my finger aches already, how do people type those long epistle .

finally pray for favour!, (no be by wetin you talk self)
