Politics‘aggrieved APC, PDP Leaders Planning To Form New Party’ by IVORY2009(op): 9:23pm On Sep 20, 2016
A former governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Sam Ominyi Egwu, has disclosed that some aggrieved leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are closing ranks with their counterpart of the embattled People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to form a formidable opposition political grouping to wrest power from the ruling federal authorities in the 2019 general elections.

Dr. Egwu, a member representing Ebonyi north senatorial zone, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Commerce and Industry, disclosed this yesterday, but stated that the formation of a new party was not the best option.

Speaking with journalists in his Umuebe country home, Ohaukwu local government area, also a former Minister of Education, condemned formation of new parties by some politicians each time their political groups are facing challenges which he said was not the case in advanced countries.

‘’Yes, some people are of the view that a new party should be formed because of the lingering crisis. But one thing I believe is that in as much as I know that forming new party may be good option because the situation we have found ourselves in our party may be difficult to come out of it in the near future, the formation may not be the best option.
“Let me tell you, this agitation for formation of new party is not only in the PDP, it is also in the APC where some leaders are not
happy the way they are treated.”

PoliticsMinister Slumps While Inspecting Idps Camp by IVORY2009(op): 9:09pm On Sep 20, 2016
Minister for Women Affairs, Aisha Jumai Hassan, slumped yesterday at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Fufore local government area of Adamawa State.

She was inside the camp’s store to inspect foodstuff and other items supplied by the Federal Government.

There was a mild drama as her aides engaged journalists in a physical combat to avoid taking pictures of the incident.

An aide of the minister who ordered them out of the store smashed recorders of some reporters.
While addressing the IDPs earlier, the minister said that she visited the camp on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the allegations of rape and children abuse in camps in the Northeast.

Hassan urged the IDPs to believe the present government and that very soon they would be back to their ancestral homes.

The minister who also presented assorted items to the IDPs said that government was working hard to rebuild the region and that the administration would continue to provide people-friendly projects to Nigerians.

She had earlier visited Governor Mohammed Umar Bindow, who urged to return the Women Development Centre occupied at present by the Appeal Court to the real owners.

Bindow promised the minister that he would urgently find a solution to the issue.

He commended Buhari for his zeal in rebuilding the Northeast and improving the living standard of women in the state.

In a country where there is no proper data storage device, people are force to reduce their ages to wat ever dey want, in places like Europe and America where data of ur birth is stored as soon as u are born, u can not adjust ur age der, this affected Osaze Odewingie, he was born in Russia in the year 1981, wen signing up for top club sides in Europe, once you have passed 23yrs, no club would want to sign u, and ur weekly pay would reduce too, so dis is the reason why many 9ja guys reduce their age, and its called "football age" ask players like Kanu, Julius Aghahowa, Olishe, Taribo West etc grin

But why is Nigerian so much crazy about Foreign Currency at the expense of her Local Naira? Must we continue to live like this?

Why can't we make $ the official currency if these people can't live without $
Anyway sha, let me go office make I no vex for all these Bureau de change people
The major reason why Nigerians are crazy over foriegn currency is as a result of lost in the vaule of our local currency, for example back in the days wen I use to trade online forex, I bought dollars @ 169 per $ in the yr 2012 i.e $3000 "black mkt" and today dat same dollar is $425, if I had left the money in the bank in naira, do u think I would have made all dat huge profit? No,

Finally, the current vice president is equally holding some of his assets in dollars.

This is not funny any longer, president Buhari should swallow his pride and call those boys and dialogue with them, each time an oil facility is blowen up, Nigeria would loose millions of dollars, especailly @ this time of recession.

Also, Okoroafor explained, “If you are a serving corps member and you want to get into business, you can get as much as N3 million to start as an entrepreneur. What happens is that you are not required to provide any collateral because we discovered that collateral is the problem. Your degree or HND certificate will serve, as your collateral because we know it is an asset in which you have made investment. So, just surrender it, and that is all.”

BusinessHow Goverment Plans To Ease Hardship, By CBN by IVORY2009(op): 4:10pm On Sep 18, 2016
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday unfolded policies to reduce hardship of Nigerians and the current economic recession.

The apex bank assured that government and the apex bank were aware of the prevailing tough economic climate, assuring that the situation would soon be overcome.

CBN’s Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Isaac Okoroafor said at a fair organised for small and medium scale enterprises, artisan, farmers, banks, hairdressers, barbers, shoemakers and other business groups in Enugu, that N220 billion funds made available for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) could be easily accessed.

Okoroafor said 60 per cent of the funds were meant for women and women-owned enterprises.
He revealed that some states had already accessed the funds to the tune of N2 billion.

According to him, the CBN also has the Commercial Agric Credit Scheme (CACS) for larger commercial farmers.

On other policies to help stabilise the economy, Okoroafor said: “Look at rice for instance, 28 out of 36 states can produce rice, so, we have launched a programme called Anchor Borrowers Programme. It is not only on rice but also on tomatoes, palm produce and other farm produce.”

He maintained government couldn’t continue to allocate scarce foreign reserves on goods that we can produce locally. Some, which Nigeria even has comparative advantage.

Okoroafor said this informed the decision of government to ban 41 items, which Nigerians should stop importing. This was borne out of a genuine desire to place the economy on the path of recovery.

Also, professor of economics, Prof. Ukwu I. Ukwu, has said if successive administrations had implemented the report of the Vision 2020 committee, it would have put the country in a better shape.

In an interview with The Guardian, Ukwu advised the President Buhari administration to go back to the Vision 2020 report, stressing that it had answers to most economic challenges facing the country.

Ukwu said “The governance section of about 22 groups, which I coordinated as part of the Vision 2020 was most fascinating because it covered the entire spectrum of the country, because there is a linkage between governance and economy.”
