CultureRe: Why So Much Ibo N Yoruba Rivalry In 9ja? by iyc(m): 10:02am On Aug 23, 2011
I guess its those that are entwined in the rivalry that feel it. Me see, feel, just Love. I'm Ibo, real deep too, mum & dad from Nnewi but, speak Yoruba far, far better and more than Ibo. Yes I grew up in Lagos, secondary education in Ogun State, with a 1st cousin who' folks are both from same hood, his name is GodUgochukwu Okonkwo, where the God is actually Ayo. Can anyone explain why we depreciate to dwell on negatives, without seeking to bridge and help relieve? Please, reach out, teach, show, spare and share LoVE. It always helps!! God Bless!!!
Christianity EtcWheel That Offers Own, Homegrown Solution By Leveraging The 9ja Position. by iyc(op): 1:33pm On Aug 22, 2011
Hello there,

I hope Grace and Peace encapsulate us, as they subsist, if you please. I pray We find sufficient faith, to leverage, in Jesus' name. Let's remain single minded like a child; intuitive, care free; awesome and, to be that, got to b born again.

May his week remain faithful to the promise given for this month and day as the beginning of a new generation, via Gen 8:21, so that, next week, We can lock into the promises of Exodus, the second book, as it tells the word for next week, in Ex 8: 28.

If you are bored, I apologise for feeling so strong, don't get me wrong, I only seek to share the manifestation of Love from above. I am tasked with a victory which, if maximised, with Faithful precision, will quicken the liberation of our nation and, project exponentially into celebration, and words that liken to same situation. Be patient, by 4pm 2day, I will surely dissipate the informative, designed to trigger deliberating so stay tuned.

It is not by power nor by might but, by my spirit says the Lord. I just had a weekend laden with idiographic encounters with Biblical parables, of the Sower, the wedding feast and, so much more. Kindly go into your heart, seek his face and access his Grace, maximise, in Jesus' name so, when Word drops, it will require ECR (efficient consumer response) and, All act JIT (just in time). Just Believe so that you benefit and, maybe, understand. For afterall, what are we but sand, for the potter's clay. Okay.

Stay tuned for another breath of Love,

I was unable to watch the match cos i'm at work, but great going. Now to the next match: I was hoping we would meet bothe Argentina & Brazil, like we did in 1996 when we took the football gold. To be sincere, I am scared stiff of the Argentines this time around. God is our strength.

Let us all pray, that should heighten the tension level folks.
Christianity EtcRe: My Friend Hates God. Don't Know What To Do. Advice by iyc(m): 10:41am On Aug 14, 2008
I think the last few notes are getting the point. Let those who are led pray for the guy, and the friend should buy him a bible.

Salvation is from God, the most man can do is hope and pray. It is well, these are the preludes that make for great testimonies. Imagine Paul before he was arrested by Jesus.
Christianity EtcRe: My Friend Hates God. Don't Know What To Do. Advice by iyc(m): 9:48am On Aug 14, 2008
This is what I was trying to forewarn against. Now people are going on with an argument about religion and trying to justify their perception of the bible. I think that is all wrong and very dangerous.

The subject matter is a request for advice on how to respond to his friend, and truly what i see is more confusion than cohesion. If you choose not to believe in God, that is basically your kettle of fish. Th emost a Christian can dofor you is to minister and to pray for you. We face a great risk when we go on about bible verses which we do not even understand.

Arguments do not help learning, because we often talk more than we listen. We always want to come out right, that is the objective in arguments. We have not been able to help out much here and, at the rate the posts are coming in, it is not looking like there is a movement towards providing the answers that will assist in solving the issue.

Ultimately relationship with God is a personal thing, so each individual is to develop a personal relationship. Like I said earlier, God is too big for one religion. I am a Catholic, but this is my belief. The bible says judge not, so that you may not be judged. People are going on running others down because of their belief, this is risky business.

The essence of the first post was not to trigger an argument about religion, but to get help in achieving a stated objective. I believe this request was directed at those who believe in God and have an understanding of his word, however its been an allcomers affair so far and the solution is far from being provided. Let us stop digressing and stay tuned to the issue here. Me I think that a gift of a bible, supported with consistent prayers will help. Your friend has to seek the answers out himself, and the most anyone can do is to help guide him. If the man is angry with God and hates him, then it is obvious he beleives there is a God. The answers to his questions can only be provided by God through his word, and
Christianity EtcRe: My Friend Hates God. Don't Know What To Do. Advice by iyc(m): 6:47pm On Aug 13, 2008
I have tried to get a grasp of the issues on ground here, and this is my opinion, more like my belief.

I believe God is too big for one religion, though not all religions are addressing the same almighty. If you study the bible a bit, you will appreciate that the lineage of muslimsis highlighted, just as i hear that the lineage of christians is noted in the koran.

If your friend chooses to hate God, that's his choice. You can try to answer his questions and pray for him, and nothing might change. Its funny that those of us who believe in God find it really trying to walk with him like he requires us to. How then do you start being a minister to another, when you have not removed the speck of dust in your eye.

Talk to him about other things, make sure his sanity remains safe for now, and when God is ready he will address the issue in the way he knows best. These are the stuff testimonies are made out of. I say all this because I have been there and I am still trying to work out this tough thing called salvation, but like the bible says, and which I believe, "hope will not be shamed". So keep praying and hoping and, like always, God will do it.
LiteratureRe: Short Story Contest: Tuneh Won by iyc(m): 1:14pm On Aug 13, 2008
Jite that is precisely the spirit. Someone, our admin chairman, has put a prize on offer for a task. Everybody is talking about the money, only one person, as we have learnt, has taken up the challenge.

It is imperative that everyone understands that the money is only there to heighten the value of the work done, and compensate for the effort. If anyone is so good at writing, and believe they deserve more value for their effort, then please go pro. There are no limitations there. This is for the rest of us greenhorns okay.
LiteratureRe: Short Story Contest: Tuneh Won by iyc(m): 11:04am On Aug 13, 2008
Hey folks, this is indeed a forum and people are allowed to air their views, but it is unwise to let people go on rambling for the heaven of it. I did not intend to be rude to anyone, but we are adults and should be willing to learn: if you do not understand what is on ground, read, ask and learn.

Talk is cheap, but it is not advised that people just talk for the fun of it. Do you go and tell the organisers of a promotion or contest that their prizes are cheap? No!!! If the prize on offer is too small for you, then move on to more attractive things. I believe that some of the purposes of this forum include to bond, learn and progress. Let's stay positive and shun unnecessary criticism, petty name calling and backbiting.

Something has been offered and interested parties should go for it, while the gurus who only like to talk can keep on talking. Its just that some of us get irritated when so many supposedly enlightened people miss the very obvious point. Writers, fire on.

Cch3coo, since you are so enlightened, i think your energy and love for talk can be directed at trying out for the 25k. Nobody is running anybody down. A harsh word here or there does not always imply rudeness. Or when your dad rebukes you with harsh words, do you say he's being rude. Bro pls get the point

I have been away from Nairaland for a while now, and it is nice to run into this on my return.

Seun says he is a budding movie producer, so who knows if the movie he'll make will even repay his investment. I would have loved to write, but time is not at my disposal, and I got some great stories. True life too.

For all those who have the effontery to open their loud mouths to run this initiative down, just think: what did you ever invest 25k in, which you believed would work? Seun put nairaland together, give this dude some credit.

If the pay is too small for you, then just shut up and Bleep off okay. Seun kudos bros.
CultureRe: My Wife-To-Be Is An "Osu" by iyc(m): 6:06pm On Feb 08, 2008
Hey, they say this osu thing is supposed to be extinct, but its a question of when it stares you in the face!! Where i come from, Nnewi, they said the igwe once stated that it does not exist anymore, and they asked him to go and let his child marry an osu. I never heard anymore about that.

But like i said, i know a girl who insisted and married her man, who was an osu. After everyone had tried their best to dissuade her, me exclusive, she did the wise thing, went and got pregnant, and no-one said abort (as all good catholics decide). So she got her man, and no one dissents in her direction, anyways theya re now both permanently in the states, so that's another kettle of fish altogether.

All i can say is that, if you desire the person enough to damn the consequences, then so be it, but if you are looking for support to make you feel justified in your decision, you'll be scratching too many backs. So do what your heart can justify even when you are dead. God's grace in your decision, but quote me anyday, "GO FOR IT"!!!!!!!!!!

CultureRe: My Wife-To-Be Is An "Osu" by iyc(m): 1:38pm On Feb 06, 2008
hello nairalanders,

this issue of osu is not a trivial matter. to me it is of no consequence, i believe if i am confronted with the choice, i will go ahead and marry. i know someone who went ahead, even after much parental pressure to do otherwise. it was a girl, and in the end, the girl had her way and married her guy.

so i think it boils down to individual ability to manage the pressures associated with the matter. i advise you tread softly, and when you finally make the decision, stick to it, irrespective.

i wish you the best.

Hey people, i am indeed very grateful for the kind comments, and i assure that all was received in very good light, for the growth and development of the cause. I am actually trying to do the brainstorming session, and i would appreciate any interested party who is willing tolend their brains and participation to same. The line about the grand thought of some wonderful invention was nice, and i can only say that, until you have laboured to give birth to an idea, after months/years of incubation is truly a joy to behold. Little wonder mothers cry so much during the periods surrounding the first child, but reruns are always the way to go, so we assume that it is a sweet joy to birth something new. if you ain't done it you will never understand.

Like mtn says these days, go start something. So like minds needed!!!

Hello there y'all. I am wondering if everyone thought nothing of the idea, or is someone still mad at me? I will like opinions, modification suggestion, and all that can be said, so that whilst it is still unregistered, adaptations and or modifications can be made. I await someone to break the ice.
BusinessRe: Novel Event Idea by iyc(op): 11:02am On Jan 17, 2008
All right folks. Bros Seun, no harm intended. Here goes: IThe plan is to have an event built around the rainbow and consumer goods, particularly fast moving consumer goods. It is to be called "RAINBOW CONSUMER FFESTIVAL"; It will run four days in the easter, from Good friday till easter monday. The xmas version will run for twelve days, from 22nd of december up till 2nd of january. It will have artistes (at least two international stars) and games, and the atmosphere is going to be carnival like.

The real juice is that at the venue (i'm hoping its trade fair, badagry), brands that are participating will be accomodated in tents which are their colour. So its like this, in the red tent, you will see celtel and gulder and uba; in the green, you'll see globacom and heineken; yellow will accomodate mtn, and like that. So it is like a trade fair for consumers and their favourite brands built around periods that will facilitate full enjoyment, while brands will pay to be present, which should cover all your costs, plus some profit. The thing with the trade fair venue is that it is the largest ground available that can accomodate that nature of event.

So tell me y'all, who wants to party with moi!!!

Hey nairalanders,

i have this really sweet event concept, which is like really cool and all. things is i need to do plenty documentation, in terms of intellectual property details and other legal elements.

i want to float a company (i truly need to, it is mandatory), and i need people who can either appreciate a good idea, or who can tell the potential in an event. this is really big and i am even scared to discuss it, cause of all the stuff i have been hearing about theft of intellectual property and stuff like that. i hear that if i want to discuss it with a corporate body, i need to have something called a non disclosure agreement, so that the idea is not actualised by someone else.

this is all really tech for me, and i need a good lawyer and some interested investors. please reach me at talk2iyc at yahoo. co. uk the name is iyc.

hope to start talking soon.

regards,
iyc
