I'm married, she isn't. It was all supposed to be no strings attached. then she started being too jealous, suspicious, overly inquisitive, and lastly too protective that I dare not as little as look in the direction of a group/crowd if there is a woman in their midst, she'll accuse me of dating whoever.

A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE!

Prof Aborishade is roughly a year and half as minister of aviation in Nigeria. In this short spell, his tenure has recorded air crashes at the rate of about one every two months, some of which have been very fatal.

These mishaps have not spared any type of flight - commercial, cargo, military, private, helicopters et al.

Unfortunately, the leadership of the Aviation Ministry have other focus other than air travel safety. For instance, rather than upgrading the air control systems at Lagos local and international airports, under him, they were busy awarding spurious contracts in "come and chop" fashion. E.g. cutting of airport grass for about N450Million, fencing of the airport (against rodents I guess, as those fences never kept away vandals, and cattle from the runway) for close to a billion, meanwhile, the runways were ALL pot-hole ridden, to the point that only one (runway 18) was working all year, and soon it also got bad. in addition to no lights aid for night landing.

In fact at a time, it was known that landing in any airports in Nigeria (probably up till now) pilots relied on best of judgement and experience rather than any airports controls. And night flights landing was as good as russian roulette. Radar? what does that mean?? Do they sell it at Alaba or Yaba , Forget it then!

Now we are harvesting from his lack of vision, direction, control, understanding and grasp of the situation, and general laissez faire. When the Bellview cresh happened in October last year, many called for the scalp of the man, who was seen as grossly incompetent on the job, but his godfather, OBJ saved him, pleading that he be given more time to "settle" in, and that he was just unlucky that the mishap happened about half a year after he took over. He has now, and many more crashes have followed. But I remember, the senate refused to ratify the man's nomination for the job, citing his woeful performance as Education minister (in fact he was the worst education minster to date) and "baba" had to ram it down their (senate's) throat insisting that he (Borisade) was appointed by force. Eventually, he was after appearing about 3 or 4 times before the senate. Let's just say he was "promoted on trial" after those re-sits!

Now, the question has reared its dragonian head again. Is he just unlucky or outrightly unfit for the job?

Either way, I'm afraid (my personal opinion though) he is too "dangerous" for enthrusting the lives of passengers to in Nigerian airspace.

There can't be any anarchy in the state - if by now there's none - going by the record and temperament of the people.

Remember 1983, they went wild when agrieved that their popular choice (Ajasin) who was not an Ekiti man was being robbed and fought against Omoboriowo (ironically, an Ekiti man, who they should have accepted as one of their own, ala "omo wa ni, e je o se" It was the arson, lynching and general chaos then that led to the downfall of 2nd republic.

Now if Fayose had been the popular choice of the people, the house of assembly members would have had their properties in flames, and many lives gone by now, in a simultaneous orgy of violence that would have engulfed the entire state.

That the people have supported the law-makers so far, even if tacitly, shows that there wont be any violence or anarchy, and that they consider Fayose & deputy as good riddance to bad rubbish. And that's what the federal govt is been wary of by not imposing or forcing any decision on those folks. Eventually, they may take the option of allowing the parties going to court.

But the poser now is; how can Fayose come out for litigation, when the veil of immunity is temporarily off him? 'cause as is now, EFCC is at liberty to arrest him!

Sorry for telling you folks that Fayose was arrested yesterday, I read it from Tribune. But it was his wife they got, not him!

News have it that the guy, seeing that the game was up, bolted away from Ado-Ekiti on sunday on the pretext he was going for a night vigil in Ibadan (he must be a student of alamiesiegha and charles taylor's school) but was arrested at Nigeria-Benin border.

His wrists should be adorned by beautifully glittering hand-cuffs by now, in preparation for facing the law, and answering questions on murders, graft, money laundering, abuse of power and outrightright corruption.

Perhaps now, it may have started to dawn on him that political power devolves from the people, and for whoever holds it, it's temporal - irrespective of how long and how much (power is vested in the individual). Someday, the lease will expire.

There has been no constitutional crisis, or trampling on the constitution in the case of Fayose's impeachment, let's look at the facts:

1. Constitution requires the governor to recommend and then 2/3rd of house of assembly to ratify for a CJ to be removed.

2. The same constitution empowers the house speaker to act in lieu, if the governor and the deputy are incapacitated to act in their positions.

3. The rule of natural justice "nemo judes in causa sua" (you cannot be a judge in your own court) makes it impossible for anyone to adjudicate in his own matter. This knocks out Fayose and the deputy from having any judicial or moral right in the matter of sacking or re-appointing a CJ, and by extension any panel on his impeachment matter, for the simple reason that they are RELATED PARTIES. Otherwise, the impartiality of the panel will be in doubt.

4. With this void created, the next and natural thing is for the next authority in line, the house of assembly, to take up the mantle, and act.

5. The constitution also requires the house to ratify, and swear in any panel appointed by a CJ before they can commence any sitting. The discredited panel did not satisfy this requirement, rather, they rushed to conclussion by absolving the accused of ALL blames without taking any evidence from any party! Even if the house members did not appear before them, they could still have pretended to be impartial, and take submissions from the EFCC, whose reports started this all!

6. The deposed CJ, clearly showed that he was not neutral by not acting honourably as demanded by ethics of his profession, to step down on the case when his impartiality, and indeed his panel was questioned! What a "honourable" judge does is to resign that appointment, and let the second in command (Aladejana) take over the proceedings.

Therefore, where the governor and the deputy were disqualified from acting on a matter of their own by rule of natural justice, and by the powers conferred by the constitution, then the next authority in line is in order to act. i.e to remove or appoint a new CJ. Q.E.D.

Or is there anyone out there who is deluded that Fayose would have changed the CJ before the end of his tenure, if asked by a 2/3rd majority of the house?
