Religion / Re: Scandal: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome In South African Trouble! by iyeyemi: 3:34pm On Apr 11, 2008
The truth is Nigerians like to be deceived. Even if Pastor Chris were to caught smoking Ganja on live Tv, u would have some dumb zealots finding some non existent explanation for his actions. Truth is the guy is a successful businessman and you cannot fault that but trying to get his followers and those who love his teaching to admit he is a fake is futile.

Make we just dey watch all this drama dey go. Like that wise guy said religion is basically a strong opium, the people need it to get high and they need something to hold onto true or not.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: When Alder Consulting Broke My Heart! by iyeyemi: 10:03am On Oct 24, 2007
Wow. was actually thinking i was the only one with the issue o.

I used to ave this deep desire to work with alder but that has been watered with my experience. I must have sent that essay well over ten times before the deadline so i dont think anyone can accuse me of not trying. I even tried sending it to the main company mail but it just ketp coming back undelivered.

I would ave expected that that as mails come in, someone would be moving them to another folder or something to allow for new mails. Called their front desk too and the babe was muttering something like 'thats the instruction'. Sadly as with all things nigerian, noone will give you any explanation as to what went wronog exactly.

Guess all things nigerian are just the same, all shadow and no substance
Religion / Re: Do Pastors Fall Sick? by iyeyemi: 2:33pm On Sep 13, 2007
@Poster, stop acting like you were an infant and face up to the reality that everybody falls sick at one point or the other, all to varying degrees of seriousness

@KDK, i dey suspect you sef say you no be anything near genuine pastor with all this your, 'i have never fallen sick since i converted' 'talk to me in private" runs.

@all those who say pastors dont fall sick, please get a life, stop being self delusional, you can put up all those fancy bible quotes and i will tell you that they amount to nothing more than attractive prose with a contrived divine stamp.
Religion / Re: Is God A Sleeping God? by iyeyemi: 10:50am On Sep 05, 2007
In other words, everybody thats going through pains is either not following God honestly or its just God's will to make them suffer so that at the end he will take the glory. How convenient

And then thanks for the Job story, I do love all those conveniently made up bible stories, they always serve to keep erring children of God in line. And I am not the one going through stuff, granted I have my own mountains, but I am way past assuming that it is God who determines what happens or does not happen to me. Just tryn to see if there is something i am missing. Try as you have though, all i am getting is the same vibe. Whatever will be will be, its just a bit sad that i have spent all these years believing a big lie, a convenient lie indeed, but still a lie.
Religion / Re: Is God A Sleeping God? by iyeyemi: 9:36am On Sep 05, 2007
True story - A devout christian, humble as a doormat, kind to an irritating fault, always ready to help, loses her husband in the twinkling of eye. She gets up and tries to dust herself off and live on for her kids. Exactly a year later, on her way back from a christian youth camp, on a fine sunday morning, her bus spins out of control, has an accident and after its over, her last daughter lies dead in her arms. And someone is talking about reshapening.

As per the topic, i take it back. Maybe he is not sleeping, maybe he is just a saddist and enjoys watching the 'works' of his hand cry and mourn and pray for death while some unsure 'man of God' stands and talks about how God knows best, and how he cannot be questioned

And someone here also kindly warned me not to take a swipe at my maker so as not to incur his wrath. Thanks for your concern but i really wont mind for that to happen seeing as even those who fear him and are being led to the slaughter at least that would make me know that he is even there to begin with

Whats that verse again, 'he will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him' and another 'my thoughts towards you are of peace not of evil to give you a future and a hope' whats up with all that

Which one do you front for

Religion / Is God A Sleeping God? by iyeyemi: 4:40pm On Sep 03, 2007
"Behold, he that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps"

Ever since sunday school, I have been taught that God does not sleep. Well now I know that that is not true. It is either he aint there at all or he does sleep sometimes and it is in these periods of his inertia that the devil or whoever is on the other side of the cosmic divide wreaks his havoc on the sons of men.

My belief stems from the fact that if indeed he is always alert, then tragedies wont befall his own people, or isnt it said that "he protects the righteous (i.e his people) and none of his bones are broken" Imagine christian people coming from a christian camp having an accident and losing their lives. I know you might say "happens all the time" and thats my point exactly.

So how is it that he neither slumbers nor sleeps, but blinks every once in a while and allows those who serve him to suffer
Education / Re: Admission Status In Uniosun by iyeyemi: 8:58am On Sep 03, 2007
I believe that UNIOSUN is the greatest fraud to hit the education system in this country this decade.

Forget all the nonsense that was the online registration. So many man hours wasted, so much psychological trauma. Then forget all the insanity that followed travelling and taking both screening tests. After all of that, these people are now saying that 60% of the admission is for osun state indigienes, 20% for osun state school system(whatever that means) then a measly 20% for others and international. So other states in nigeria are now bunched together with aliens. Then they separate the cutoff points by at least five points.

I have sympathy for the youth of this country and i am starting to feel that hope is really lost.
