dimieprincess: By Taboola Sponsored Links Buhari certificate: Presidency threatens legal suit against Nwokocha for declaring Buhari guilty in press interviews ON June 19, 2016 3:00 PM / IN News / Comments By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA-Presidency is considering a legal action against a private lawyer, Mr. Nnamdi Nwokocha who it said has by his press interview prejudiced public opinion against President Mohammadu Buhari for alleged lack of school certificate and declared him guilty on the pages of newspapers. A Presidential Media Aide, Malam Garba Shehu, while reacting to Nwokocha's press interviews, in a statement explained that "it is unfair for a lawyer who is a litigant to a case in court to go out of his way to hijack the power of a Judge by declaring the President guilty of what he is accused of." According to Malam Shehu, "newspaper pages are not alternative courts where a lawyer can declare anybody guilty of anything when the court has not formally given a definitive judgment on an issue before it." He stated that "The two-pages interview splashed on pages 56-57 of ThisDay edition of Saturday June 11th breaches a lawyer's ethical code and we hope that the court and the Bar Association will take notice of this." The Presidential Media Aide said "any lawyer that sincerely believes in judicial process and the rights of other parties to a case would not have engaged in the inappropriate and unprofessional practice of trial by media, especially a situation where Nwokocha openly declared the President guilty when the court didn't make that declaration." Malam Shehu noted that "gag orders emerged in the United States on account of lawyers' inappropriate conduct on trying and convicting people on the pages of newspapers or the court of public opinion." The Presidential Media Aide noted that "free speech is not synonymous with recklessness and wanton abuse of the rights other parties to a case in court." He also said that "The litigant's unabashed claim that he was a card- carrying member of the opposition PDP which lost power in the last election clearly indicates a scheme that seeks power by circumventing the democratic process of elections." Malam Garba Shehu said "if Nwokocha has not stopped his unfair and professionally inappropriate abuse of free speech, the President's competent team of lawyers will seek the instrumentality of the law in dealing with his unethical actions." He said "you cannot be a litigant and be a Judge at the same time."

dimieprincess: They are full of pride and pick a fight with almost all tribes in Nigeria, Hausa is their enemy, Yoruba is their enemy, Ijaw is their enemy, Benin is their enemy. So tell me, how will they ever rule Nigeria since their population is equal to or less than South South?
I could remember a thread here in Nairaland about a guy who housed an IPOB youth, the ungrateful fellow ran away with the good Samaritan's properties. The Op in that thread generalised the crime to Igbos and he was admonished. He later apologised and edited his thread, yet IPOBs picked a fight with him; just because the culprit is an Igbo man.
When you go through the various comments in this forum, you will see how these set of people attacked every dissenting opinion. They defend all the thieves or looters of our common wealth. You defend Metuh, Dasuki, Diezeni, FFK, Chiebuka Akabusi (the ungrateful IPOB according to the Op in the aforementioned thread) and what have you.
I know they are ready to throw tantrum here because I am saying the obvious truth but my advice is, you guys should stop defending thieves. Also, you guys have to stop feeling insecure in the midst of others. You can't hate every other tribe or see every tribe as betrayals and expect to be seen or loved by same people you hate.

Funnicator: We have all come to observe how much Igbo's from the SE political zone go into deep depth and long length in order to claim brotherhood with the political SS states.
These Igbo's from Anambra, Enugu, Abia, IMO, Ebonyi also go as far as recanting that Anioma, Etche, Ndoni, Ogbia, Ikwerre and other communities in the NDelta are Igbo's yet we don't see those people being claimed proclaiming their Igboness.
When you go too desperate trying to form a branch to connect you with some people you come out as being desperate. No matter how much Igbo's love to share a country with these communities I suggest you leave them to observe how important you are, and come after you, running after them while they remain non-challant reeks of desperation and you should not blame them when they decide not to align with desperados.
Also, sharing a country with these militants might lead to renewal of the crises in the Nigerian state. Ijaws are good at sabotage and with little issues in a Biafran state, they might be quick to form another NDA and go all out on sabotage.
I reside in Uyo, trust me, Ibibios love to have Igbo friends but when it comes to issues of dismemberment of Nigeria, they go all out for a total ND republic.
You can call me Yoruba or whatever. Mana Mara na eziokwu na afu ufu. Those communities don't even recognize themselves as your kindred.
If you want a Biafran republic. You can have it easily with core five Igbo states. Attaching yourself to Ikwerres and Aniomas and Etches and others when they are unconcerned about your brotherhood or agitation might spell doom for you.
I'm done. Guy stay on ur own and these guys be. Una no dey tire to carry SS/SE matter for head like gala? |

When u have a country replete with edcuated people but headed by a stark illiterate in leadership position, then everytin humanly wrong is associated with the people of such country.
Nigerians shud have known that in a 21st century outlay, anybody who isn't a university graduate has no business vying for the presidency.
