Religion / Re: Tired Of Pastors, Church And Religion? Lets Talk Spirit by izinbizi(m): 5:15pm On Sep 04, 2016
I appreciate the Eckankar approach but question any system that seem to provide a path or tool to spiritual awareness, this still presents the religous approach of a way to Spirit. But as funny as it sounds there is no way to Spirit and no golden rule in Spirituality, no rule at all. It is a highly individualistic realisation of ones inner essence and contentment. Its a call for all to look inwards and find their truths within but it doesnt provide a tool or path like in religion.

If you Sincerely want to go beyond Orthodox Religion, The Occult, Metaphysics, Science, Philosophy etc. I will recommend you study ECKANKAR.

You can feed your heart from the write upon on the link in my signature. If you got questions feel free to ask. The key to success in any venture is mostly an open heart. Only the heart can know God. Thanks.
I just think that Eckankar is about another system of worship with rules and regulations. Spirituality should not be about a particular system; I believe it is an individualiatic pursuit of a higher consciousness.

Asides Nairaland, where else do you see the news of pastor do this and that. The other day a foreign pastor said sh*t about sex, we heard it here. Two days ago, ISIS sawed 9 christians half in half, you wont see it here. If Nairaland was ones main source of news outlet, you could almost think no single good has ever or will ever come out of christianity. I hope you get.

Having said that, God is a Spirit, and they that worship him must worship Him in SPIRIT and in TRUTH. Without the Holy SPIRIT, christianity is reduced to religion.
God was always meant to be worshipped Spiritually, not with rules and regulations. What man does (pastors inclusive) dont matter, what matters is God and the Word of God.
The news about atrocities of Religion is international, even boko haram, ISIS, gay priests, etc are the products of religion. People are giving up on religion and seeking whatever is true, more productive and fulfilling. Truly the rules and regulations of religions are the main problems, worship should be in Spirit and without guidelines.

I define spirituality as a science of consciousness that is dedicated to a perpetual awareness of the existence and presence of the Creator. Spirituality is therefore more of a matter of the consciousness of the mind/soul and less a matter of the Spiritual.

salauwale:
Before anything we have to first agree on which God! The Christian God or the Muslim God or the Jew God or either of the remaining thousands less popular Gods. Then we can talk about religion, the prophets and the spirituality vis a vis doctrines.
The different Gods of the people and the search for these Gods is the root of Religion.
There must be one God but assuming we stop the use of the name God or Allah or other names and just say the Creator. This gives us a realistic title that everyone can identify with, a title which means the one that conceived and created the earth - whatever this infinite Spirit may be named is beyond our comprehension. This solves the big problem in religion and it is one of the basic teachings of Spirituality to say the titles Creator or the Infinite instead of the name God. So in favor of Atheism Spirituality says there is no God but in opposition it agrees that there is the Creator who is Infinite in comprehension and too great to be named by any singular name.

Stop religion, stop self deceit. I am tired of headlines like: Bishop caught in bed with niece, Pastor admits sleeping with 6 of 30 teenage girls, anglican priest admits to be gay - like the pharisees they decieve us, our wives, our daughters for their personal gratification. The way is not in Religion, lets explore new frontiers, lets talk spirituality. - a personal relationship with your maker.

Yes i am tired of pastors, their lies, churches and religion. There must be a higher way so i ask these questions:
What is Spirituality?
What is the difference between Religion and Spirituality?
Whats the bible?
Who is Jesus Christ?
Is there a God?
Whats is the origin of mankind?
What is the destiny of mankind?
Purpose - what is your purpose in life?
what is Christainity?
Do we need churches?

Lets talk!

My folks are addicted to those channels. I just went to the startimes site, it seems they have Star Novella E1 which can replace Telemundo and Zee Cinema (and also Star Plus, StarGold and Bollywood TV) can replace zeetv. I would be making the switch once my DSTV subscription expires.

This is the Spirit of Change.

Only real action can make them stop this nonsense. I have refused to renew my subscription (i was on premium bouquet) and in the last two days, they have called twice with each call lasting for minimum of 10mins. each time they call, I tell them it's not worth the price and they will spend all that time justifying the increase and pleading with me to reconsider. So far am sticking to my gun.If we all do the same, they will get the message. Am not going to waste my time hastaging when I can take real action.this is not bring back our girls with millions of hastags tweets while the girls remain missing. we need real action like I have taken. If I don't watch premiership, it's not the end of the world.

We must take action.

This is rubbish. And we are all keeping quite. Here in SA where I stay, with R300, you can subscribe to a good plan. There are exploiting us. We must stand up, march to the streets and ask the govt to ban DSTV from Nigeria. Lets give another local station a chance to grow and offer quality services. What nonsense.... Can they try this in SA.... I think we are over keeping mute about this issue...

Foolish talk. That's making you feel better, huh? Go take your meds. DSTV is by subsc only. You don't pay, they cut off their service - isn't that simple. You want to enjoy the service for free aren't you? Don't invite other ppl to fight your evil ideas. If you can't afford it, stop it period. I'm SAcan for your info.

State your location, so Nairalanders can pay you a warm xenophobic visit.

Mine has expired since March 22, I stopped paying since then. The #13450 I was even paying for PVR sef is just too much not to talk about the 20% increment. Most working class don't earn that as salary.
right on point, many nigerian families live on less than this monthly.

Read the recent twits by AKA the south african rapper where he acknowledged Nigeria's contribution in the liberation of S.A from apartheid and what we get in return is that their "white supremacists" have diverted their craving for black exploitation to Nigerians and our black south african brothers are killing Nigerians in xenophobic attacks? These south africans must be stopped and DSTV will be the first casualty, we will not be exploited in our own country. Nigerians we call on you to boycott DSTV, enough is enough.

I just found out that DSTV premium bouquet has been increased from 13,400 to 16,100. I had grudgingly agreed to pay 13,400 when it was increased from 10,000 just a few years back because of my kids and wife. Now it struck like a lightening bolt and I asked myself why I should pay minimum wage to a south african company when this is the average monthly pay for many Nigerian families today; upon this in the flip side of Nairaland is the horrific xenophobic attacks and killings of Nigerians by south africans. I also recently read that DSTV actually violated a Nigerian court order against this planned 20% increase in tarrif. Nigerians have become a milk cow for this south african company and we are violated with impunity and disregard to our laws. I call on Nigerians to resist this ugly trend by DSTV by boycotting subscription to its services. If we think we cannot survive without it, you may just observe that you actually view less than 10% of these DSTV channels and many of us dont even have the time to view up to 5%. Nigerians please be wise, let us resist this unlawful exploitation by DSTV by boycotting its services.
