The National Association of Nigerian Traders on Monday stormed the Economic Community of West African States’ secretariat located in Abuja to protest the alleged closure of shops belonging to Nigerians in Ghana.

The protest, which began at about 9:30am, partially paralysed activities at the ECOWAS Secretariat.

The protesters marched through the streets of Yakubu Gowon Way in Asokoro, a development that led to traffic gridlock in the area.

The protesters carried placards with various inscriptions such as: ‘We need ECOWAS intervention’, ‘Ghana, re-open Nigeria’s shops now’, ‘ECOWAS, the situation in Ghana is totally unacceptable’, and ‘Ghana wants AfCTA secretariat but clamps down on African traders’, among others.

Speaking during the protest, the President, NANT, Ken Ukaoha, said that the association was protesting the alleged victimisation of Nigerian businessmen in Ghana.

He stated that the development had got so bad that a law was recently passed by the Ghanaian parliament seeking to make the business environment hostile to foreign investors.

Ukaoha said since Ghana was a signatory to the ECOWAS protocol on free movement of goods and services, there was a need for the commission to caution the government of Ghana.

I find it appalling to know that some people supports the gross corruption and insensitivity of our politicians.
This is not a matter of partisanship, tribe or religion.
This case of Osun and Aregbesola is a clear disdain to people's plight and display of high level selfishness and "pricing" of people's intelligence ,which should be met with open aggression and conscious struggle for liberation. The whole traffic in Ado Ekiti put together is not up to one tenth of Oshodi traffic.
The longest you can stay in the maddest traffic in Ado Ekiti is 15mins.
The bridge is a STRAIGHT BRIDGE,BUILT LITERALLY ABOVE another straight road with no significant/traffic prone junction/intersection underneath (you can confirm this from the posted pictures).
There is no notable place connected to the bridge except the GOVERNOR'S OFFICE and A POLICE STATION!!!

My Point:

Obviously, the money spent on this "purple elephant on a red carpet" could have been used to alleviate the people's poverty many of which are owed months of salary arrears ( 80% of indigenes are civil servants or/and farmers)

I am not saying all these particularly to discredit Govnor Fayose but to sensitize people here,esp the youths, to rise above pettiness and image glorification at the expense of our social well being and future security!!!
We are all contributors to our dear Nation's downfall with such orientation as this!!
