FamilyRe: She Wants Court Marriage, He Wants Traditional Marriage, She Say He Does Not.... by izzieman: 5:59am On Jul 11, 2015
Whether you are a man or a woman it is a good idea to undertake a court wedding. It protects both of you in many ways. One scenario in each case.

Man - If you are well to do and God forbid, you die accidentally, your family cannot go and throw your wife out and say they own all your property. If you have kids, it is even worse. People can come and claim all your property then leave your wife and kids to suffer.

Woman - Above scenario plus the man cannot just throw you out and hope you do not have rights in whatever you have built together as a couple. A housewife married to a Billionaire is a contributor too even if the man is the only one with physical income.

I do not know how Nigeria Law works on Common Law Marriage but most countries that operate the British Common Law are considered married after living together for one year so this may be a moot point if these two have lived together for more than a year in their 5 year relationship.

Ojukwu left Biafra 2 days before the war ended on the advice his commanders that they could no longer hold out. What would have been the point of him staying to be slaughtered over a War that was already lost? If he had stayed back and was slaughtered, it would have been people like you who would have called him a fool for not escaping.
But he said he was going to get help. He did not say he was escaping. What of all the innocent Igbo soldiers he shot after they advised him only a few months after the start of the war that he was fighting a losing war? Hundreds of thousands of life would have been saved if he had shelved his ambition.

Buhari left you in a lot better shape than you are now. When babangida was sweet talking all of us, we were happy. Our assembly plants were producing hundreds of thousands of cars before Buhari left. Babangida and the others after, I cannot defend.
AutosRe: Stallion Motors Volkswagen Nigeria Assembly Plant (photos) by izzieman: 10:39pm On Jul 08, 2015
This plant was producing hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen cars when Buhari was overthrown by Babangida. As at that time, they were being coerced by the Nigerian Government to increase local content and were already past 25 percent local content I believe.

While one must commend the local assembly of cars as Jonathan tried to encourage, we must understand that assembly without local content would just leave us as perpetual consumers. This is what other nations that sell to us want - a ready market for their goods. We have to make sure we tell all these Assembly plants that there must be Technology Transfer and it does not hurt to teach our people the concept of learning skills in these plants with a view to building their own concepts in the future.

freelife4all:
That's good bro, nice work, but don't you think that the paint bucket is the small for that quantity(more that 100 snails). With that quantity in that small bucket there will be no space for the to move around, so i will advice you to prepare a more comfortable place for them. I started my own snail farm on the first of june, they are doing fine as well, although i fine it difficult to get most of the things they eat.
Kudos on your entrepreneurial spirit. Quick advice - The use of a paint bucket is not very healthy for the snails and even if does not affect them, they may have chemicals in them that will get passed on to your eventual consumers. When you farm, always consider the effect of your production on your market.

I hope you do not take my criticism the wrong way. Globally, the trend is towards organic food production with no chemicals. If your business grows and you start to export, you will find that naturally grown food fetches a premium on the world market. Good luck and may your business grow beyond your dreams.

I see buhari ploting his own down fall soon too, going to the army to ask for receipts for what huh?

if you read the 48 laws of power ... dont joke with your miltary.

He has started a war on him self already. Nobody has ask why he did not participate in the graduation of the military short service this weekend.

He should simply ask the service chief to Go then ask for auditors to audit the army, he should ask professionally.

He is sitting on a ticking bomb
So Mr. onlykach, in essence you are calling for a Military coup. You do know the crime in what you are suggesting right?
PoliticsRe: 650 People Have Died Since Buhari Took Over - AFP by izzieman: 5:49pm On Jul 05, 2015
650 in one month is less than 2000 in one day under Jonathan. Remember when the terror attack happened in France 2000 people were killed by Boko Haram. Jonathan called to offer condolences to the French but did not even mention his own country's 2000.

FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Is Acting Funny! by izzieman: 4:14am On Jul 04, 2015
1. Did you tell your husband that you did not intend to marry him but for the fact that he was the last option for marriage for you as you mentioned above?
2. If you did not, is there a way he could have found out from your friends, phone or email that that was how you felt?
3. Since you say that his response to you always borders on you not wanting him initially, that topic must be eating him out and he wants to show you that he can get what you give to him somewhere else.
4. Do not get me wrong, I think any man who would do that is insecure but if 1 and 2 above are right, then you do have a good part of the blame.
5. You need to have a good talk with him, that yes, you did not think you wanted to marry him because of the age difference but after falling in love with him, he has made you grow up and know that you could not imagine yourself with another husband.
6. They say a woman scorned is dangerous but a man whose ego has been trampled upon can be more dangerous.

Please ponder!

When Jonathan was busy sharing your Dollars just a couple of months back, a lot of his trolls here busy defending him. Now the chicken has come home to roost and when the price of basic commodities go up, all of you here calling Buhari all sorts of names will feel the pain just like everyone else.

One thing we can be sure of is that money will be recovered even from some of you here on Nairaland who collected campaign gratification in Naira and Dollars.

Another retardo

You don't use Bullpups assault rifles in field combat

The IWI Tavor SAR being carried by the Nigerian Naval team is best used in small confined spaces and not in open field.

The German Soldier is operating with the right field range weapon.

No wonder Boko is kicking their azzes
In an operation like this, there are snipers embedded in the team. Multi mission teams do exist you know. And how would you know what operation they were carrying out in the joint exercise. Just put down the Nigeria guys for the sake of doing it.

Go and review the public balance sheet of the IOCs, most of you might learn something.

Keep shielding Buhari. You guys have not thought of how his official cars will get to Daura. Or will he be using private cars there? Or he will buy a new set of official cars and station them permanently in Daura to save the cost of fuelling the existing ones from Abuja to Daura lol! Confusion everywhere!

@Op, how did you come about all those figures? Do you think you are addressing SS1 students? You just cooked up some imaginary figures up there and you want us to work with those figures?

Buhari should sit his lean ass at Aso Rock and tackle Nigeria's problems.
I have absolutely no need or desire to shield Buhari. The figures I gave are based on the Operating costs that the manufacturers of those planes and the aviation industry use.

PoliticsBuhari- Continue To Use Eagle One Jet Or Build Helipad And Use Helicopter by izzieman(op): 2:53pm On Jun 28, 2015
After reading a headline here about a Helipad being built in Daura, the President's home town to enable him travel to his country home by Helicopter instead of the current practice of flying in a jet to Katsina Airport and then travelling by road to Daura Airport, my first emotion was anger at the new government.

Instead of getting eaten up by the title of the post, I decided to do a comparative analysis of both options and came up with the following.

Option 1 - ABUJA-KATSINA AIRPORT BY JET, KATSINA-DAURA BY ROAD-KATSINA AIRPORT-ABUJA AIRPORT
Hourly operating cost of Boeing 737-700 = $6,864= N1,372,800 per hour
1½ hours per trip - N2,059,200
Driving Presidential Ground transportation to Katsina Airport and then to Daura and back to Katsina Airport and Abuja
N100,000.
Cost per trip – N2,159,200
6 trips in one year = N12,955,200

Helipad Option
Max cost of building Helipad – N2,000,000
Hourly operating cost of Augusta/Westland 139 helicopter = $2,136 = N427,200
2 hours per trip - N854,400
6 Trips per year - N5,126,400
Helicopter cost plus Helipad – N7,126,400

In the end I believe cutting down on the use of the Boeing 737 Presidential jet will save Nigeria a lot of money. I think the fact that the President is even contemplating cost saving measures should be commended. This is definitely in contrast to a function in Uganda in the recent past where we had three of our Presidential jets in Kampala such that Ugandan Comedians were making fun of us.

Apart from the financial cost to the public purse, we also have to take into consideration the logistical inconvenience to the public in Abuja (Aso Rock to Airport to Aso Rock) and (Katsina Airport to Daura to Katsina Airport).

PoliticsRe: What Is The Need Of Minister When We Have Permanent Secretaries by izzieman: 4:37pm On Jun 27, 2015
Permanent Secretaries are professional career persons in their various ministries. Ministers are Politicians who come to Office on a Party Platform with a vision of how they want a country to progress. They (ministers) use the staff of the ministry to carry out their vision. This leaves the civil servants in the ministries IDEALLY clear of politicization.

Some in-laws do not like their daughter in-laws to get a job that would empower her. It is your life, empower yourself. You got a job in a country where that is like a camel through a needle's eye and you are going to let someone talk you out of it because of a prayer they had?

Where were they when you were looking for a job? How come their prayer never provided you a job before now? If God forbid, your husband falls ill, is unable to work, and supposing you already have children, are you ready to just sit at home with your in-laws providing for you? There are many things wrong with what they are asking you to do. Think seriously and tell them kindly that you prayed and decided to take the job and they should pray for you too.

4. Does he have an older sister?
5. Clue her in and tell her you need her help.
6. If he gets angry for you getting his family involved, tell him that you have needs as a woman and he has to perform his manly duties otherwise the marriage is useless.
